This is the best Thai place ever!! It’s consistent, great portions, nice atmosphere and d I’ve been going to this location since 2018. Recommend the combo pad Thai, no pork, no peanuts, extra egg and lime with a Thai tea!
Although I'm not a huge fan of Thai food, I must admit that this place is really good. I haven't been to Thailand, so I can't vouch for its authenticity, but the curries are a fantastic choice. Their Tom Kha soup stands out with a unique taste not found in other versions from different restaurants. It's definitely a great spot for takeout, considering the relatively small dining room.
This is a wonderful little Thai restaurant in Tierrasanta. I've placed to-go orders as well as come in for lunch and the food is always wonderful. Service is always great. My go to item is the pad thai which I have ordered both chicken and pork and love them both. The curry is also very tasty as well as the Thai Tea. My only issue has been ordering different spice levels. They've mixed up the spice levels on my items a few times. I don't mind but when I order for someone else who prefers mild, they can get a little bummed. Overall this is a great lunch spot that I really enjoy.
Pad thai was incredible, I added chili oil to up the heat a bit, bit they will ask you how spicy you want your food. My wife had the vegetable and cashews with seafood and she loved it. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting good Thai food.
Family owned lovely place for Thai food. Only complaint is they get busy in prime time;) Quality ingredients, decent pricing, good recipes and great service!
Me and my dad came here not too long ago, the service was nice and even the cook came out to see how everything was !! Food was great. Highly recommend.
Thai restaurants since I grew up eating thai in Los Angeles. I have gone to Pinto Thai and ordered from them a few times, and I've always been pleased with the quality of food and service. I've ordered the Fresh Spring Rolls, Red Curry, Thai BBQ Chicken, and Tom Yum Soup. So far they all have been great, and my favorite is the Red Curry and Spring Rolls. I would like to explore the menu more but I enjoy the ones I usually get so I'll just stick to them for now. The location is small and cute, and I pray and hope that they get a bigger location and stay in Tierrasanta! A must try Thai restaurant!
Everything here tastes great! My favorites are the pork egg roll, pad see ew, pad Thai, eggplant dish among others. My hubby likes papaya salad, panang and red curries. It’s a small, cozy and clean restaurant. Staff is friendly. We’re lucky that this is just 3 minutes away from our house!
I ordered the chicken pineapple curry and the vegetable samosas and they were all amazing. I haven’t had Thai food this good since I was in Hawaii. I will definitely be going back as a regular customer.
Food is so good! We usually order take out for dinner since we live in the area. Super quick service. Have had lunch in the restaurant also. Quick service and large portions for lunch.
Had Sunday lunch there with husband and 1yo baby. Baby friendly place. Food was GREAT!!! Had appetizers and main courses. Nice atmosphere and service. Definitely coming back for more yummy meals!
EXCELLENT food...probably the best tasting Thai food I we have had. service was great, and setting was perfect. Highly recommend. This is one of our regular spots for lunch and dinner. Me and my family love it.
Soooo fresh and delicious! Grandma cooking away in kitchen! Home recipes and so healthy- not greasy. Just love love love! Great for take out, delivery and eating in!! Just love it!
A small but impactful restaurant. The size of this restaurant is on the small size with a handful of tables available. I've haven't sat down for a meal always taken out or delivered. What I saw while in waited for my take out food was decently good service and not long wait times. Now for the food, the food portions to their price is what I would expect to pay. Packed to the brim with fresh and delicious ingredients! I've usally stick to pad thai since that's what I enjoy with a great kick of spicyness. Shall be back for more.
This is one of the best Thai restaurants in San Diego County. There is also a location in Ramona. Both are absolutely amazing. If you love thai food you will not be disappointed with either one of these locations.
We come here at least 1 time a week- the tom kha is awesome!! Spice levels are moderate and I usually order a level 7 or 8. The sweet Chile fish is delicious and a great alternative to the traditional pad Thai. Check this place out!
Consistently delicious, flavorful yellow curry. Option of white or brown rice a plus for maximizing nutrition. A bit on spicy side even at lowest request but not overwhelming. Have come back every day for a week now. Great crab wontons.
I live nearby and this place is amazing. Always trying something new and it's always delicious. Unfortunately they had to raise prices, but that happened everywhere. The spicy basil fried rice is my favorite.
My family love eating here or getting food for take out! It's one of our favorite thai restaurants despite it being in a strip mall! The tom yum soup is sooooo good, though better if you eat it in the restaurant and don't take it out. My only gripe is that they are closed Mondays and I always forget!
Ordered Veg Soup, Spicy noodles and Pa-nang curry and oh boy, all of them were so so delicious. We had a spice level of 5 which was not too bad but spice lovers can definitely go higher. The ambience was really nice and the server was very warm and friendly.
It is literally a hole in the wall, family owned and operated, neighborhood Thai joint. By hole in the wall I'm referring to the size of the place only. It is very clean and the flavors what you would expect. You can see the kitchen and the people cooking your food. Everyone was wearing a mask and the cashier was super friendly and welcoming. In store dining was not allowed at the time I went in lieu of covid 19 guidelines but even when it is open it is very limited capacity for seating. Super cute. Super tasty. I recommend this place if you're in the area.
Pinto is our favorite Thai eatery. The food is top notch and the staff is very friendly! This visit we had the spring rolls, chicken satay, beef salad, and wonton soup. It was all delicious 🤩
Not being a huge Thai food fan, I'll admit this place is really good. I've never been to Thailand, can't tell you how authentic it is, but the curries are a great go-to. Their Tom Kha soup is really good, has a unique taste unlike other versions from other restaurants. Definitely a great takeout place, dining room is pretty small.
Small Thai restaurant. Very authentic food. Portions are huge and prices are very reasonable. We enjoyed eating here and would come back if we are in the area.

I LOVE Thai Pinto Bistro!!! I live in Tierrasanta and feel so grateful that this Thai restaurant is in our community. It’s so wonderful with delicious Thai dishes and the staff is so friendly! I have a weekly favorite order that I recommend. The Fresh Spring rolls, extra peanut sauce ( the best I’ve ever had) and the Thai Basil Noodles. I have it every Thursday night almost and it’s the one meal I look forward to the most. The take out service is great if you order on Menufy and it’s always ready in half the time that the website says it’ll be ready.
So delicious! The Thai Basil Noodle with mock duck was amazing!
Excellent food for the fare price. Its a cozy ambient restaurant and we were served medium size dinners. Thai was very good and very fresh, properly seasoned and just right to the taste. They also take spicy and non spicy requests which was perfect for us. Highly recommend you visit this mom n pap, woth a partner for dinner, or even with the family as portion sizes for 1 dish feed the whole family! Over all excellent thai food when you appetite calls for. Aloha!
We cannot recommend Pinto enough! I have a newly developed wheat allergy and my boyfriend has a seafood allergy. We have never had someone listen so well to our needs and be so friendly with requests. The food was so fresh and tastes amazing! It was ready really fast too! I don’t know what took us so long to try but we will DEFINITELY be here more often! 100% recommend.
Very good! The food is comforting and to die for, the service was very good. The location is small and homey so best to come when it's not too busy. We ordered the pad thai, glass noodles salad, cheese crab and spring rolls all served hot and perfectly can highly recommend the pad thai and cheese crab wontons. Only complaint is parking outside was a little hard to get that wasn't a 30 min spot but that's unrelated to the restaurant itself. Can recommend 👍😁
Our favorite Thai restaurant! We love ordering from Pinto Thai. The food tastes really fresh and full of flavor! The Tom kha is the best I’ve had in San Diego by far. We also really enjoy the fresh rolls and yellow curry.
One of the better dining experiences I’ve had in quite some time! Everything was delicious, staff was attentive and quick, food came out in a reasonable time and everything was piping hot and fresh 😋 I wanted to note that the negative reviews involving staff pushing them out honestly makes sense from a business point of view, it’s ridiculous to order take out and assume you can take a seat from those intending to eat there. It’s a small place, it’s to be expected! We had no problems feeling rushed, and even if we were, I’d absolutely understand if they had people waiting for tables. Don’t let those ridiculous reviews put you off from giving this place a try, it’s totally worth trying!
Great food and great service! We’ve tried quite a lot of the options on the menu and have not been disappointed. The Tom Yum and basically of the curries are our go-to’s (they had a special Yellow Curry with Fruits which contained lychee and apples and it was sooooo good! Their thai tea and thai coffee are also a must…all in all- every time we’ve gone to eat at Pinto Thai, it hits the spot always!)
Soooooo delicious! I ordered the veggie samosas, fried tofu, and basil thai rice(spicy). The flavor of everything was perfect and the spice was just right. The sauces that they came with were also fantastic! The service was wonderful and the food came out fast!
Fantastic service, food, and atmosphere. After my usual Thai place closed a year ago, I've been looking for a replacement, and this is absolutely it. Staff is very friendly, food has been everything I've looked for in Thai. Highly recommend.
Ordered delivery. Food was fantastic! The portions were huge which made the prices seem more than fair. Highly recommend!

Ordered the Yellow Curry for myself ad the Duck Thai Fried Rice for my wife. The flavors were all there and the spice was just at the right level to where it was enjoyable. Unfortunately my curry seemed a little runny compared to my experience with how curry was prepared at other Thai restaurants. The potatoes were still crunchy and needed about five more minutes to cook. All in all I'll order from there again but maybe another dish.
I'm not a thai foodie, so I can't vouch for the authenticity of the food, but it sure is tasty! The folks who run it are very sweet & generous & a little bit sassy. Always a treat to have lunch here. It's a very small place, though, so reservations are highly recommended.
Good Thai food. Excellent lunch specials. It's a small place that can get busy so you might want to call ahead with a larger party. Mostly tables for two but they can join them together.
Found ourselves in the area and figured we'd try out one of the Thai restaurants. The place is small and I can see how it could get overcrowded very quickly. Luckily it was not busy when we got there so the wait to be seated and to be served was not long at all. The server was very friendly and not opposed to questions about the food. As for the food, it was pretty good. Definitely not great enough to knock out one of our favorites, but not bad enough to where we wouldn't come back in. The flavors were decent. The Tom Kha had Enoki mushrooms in it which was a surprise but they absorbed the flavor and fit in well with the soup overall. The rangoons were definitely good as was the papaya salad. Overall, it's a decent little place for some decent food. As I said, not enough to really be a favorite, but when we find ourselves in the Tierrasanta area again, we will likely stop by.

Our waitress was very sweet, attentive, and great with checking in on us. Went for a lunch get together with a friend, 1st time here and they offer really fresh & well flavored lunch specials. They were pretty quick with our orders too, respectful of our lunch "time frame" for sure! Small place with about 6 to 8 tables (or so), cute, good layout, nice mellow decor. Regretfully I didn't take pictures of how awesome the food looked, but let me tell you -it was tasty and went down way quicker than I expected! 🤭 Definitely going to be coming back here! The only slightly problematic item was the tight parking lot and when it's full you may have to park a little further away.

This is quite a tiny restaurant, there is not too much seating inside, the layout is a bit weird, but kinda makes it semi-private. A lot seem to do take-out, as I did. The service is pretty quick and accommodating. The menu is pretty average with most of the main thai items and the prices are fair. I got the pan fried noodles, which are the wide rice noodles with a lot of onion and bean sprouts with the meat of your choice in a light soy sauce flavoring. I got tofu! Overall, the portion might be just a little too small, but it was hot and tasted fine. I'm sure the other items are just as good.
Small but cozy place, quick and friendly service, but food was just OK and servings were kind of small. We had: Garlic chicken, a stir fry with lots of nice crispy veggies, but kind of of random assortment, didn't really gel together, especially cuz the sauce was kind of watery. Pumpkin curry, which turned out to be a generic red curry but with pumpkin cubes added. It was fine but with a spiciness of 4 it was too hot to really enjoy the flavor. Plus I'm kind of annoyed that when we asked for a to go box they didn't bother to save the rice, of which we still had a lot. They could have asked. I've had much better Thai.
Let me begin by saying that customer service was very good. They serve a cup of soup which was actually very good. We ordered a sampler plate of appetizers which were also quite tasty. The food however was at best mediocre. I ordered the pad Thai, staple dish at most Thai restaurants. I've had my share of pad thai and was quite perplexed at this dish by the bright orangy/red colored noodles that seemed to bind to each other and had this elastic-rubbery texture. The meat was very tough and the dish lacked flavor. We were pressed for time, otherwise I would have returned the dish. Not sure if they changed cooks or the cook had a bad day. I would return for another try but would be cautious to eat the pad Thai again.
Called in an order for pickup and they had left out an item in the order (at least I wasn’t charged), in one curry dish I had requested tofu but was given chicken, the fried rice was requested as mild but it barely had any flavor, and I was not impressed with the mango sticky rice which was on the dry side since it did not have any of the coconut sauce on top

Ordered pad Thai, jasmine fried rice, and papaya salad. All dishes were extremely bland and lacked flavor. The fried rice was very mushy and papaya salad did not taste authentic at all.
It’s gross to order Jasmin rice and then it’s wrapped in plastic. Please not package the jasmine rice in plastic bag and then in the white box. All the flavor is lost. It’s screams shrinkflation. Cutting corners looses your customers and kills the flavor.
Don’t go here!! My friend is way too angry to leave a review, so I’m doing it for them. When they placed their order, the lady confirmed the order with them, but then proceeded to ring them up for something completely different. When she brought the order out to them, she repeated back the same order that they had placed with her, so they had assumed that their order was correct because she didn’t hand them a receipt after they placed the order. However, once they left and got home, the order was completely wrong, including the receipt. So, when they went back to the restaurant to explain to the lady what happened, the lady got extremely irritate and started blaming my friend. Then she said that they can make something else for them, but after their poor and abusive customer service, they asked for their money back. The lady slammed the register and gave them partial cash back and kept the tip. Don’t go here!! Food isn’t that great either!!
Food was a low ok...the weirdest was the order was $75 delivered to my hotel with no utensils. When I called the resturant they were rude unapologetic and said it was against CA law to include utensils. I suggested that law or not....you could of asked me, called me or added that as a choice on the menu order. How on earth would someone staying in a hotel have utensils for a meal or someone visiting CA in a hotel know there was a law prohibiting the inclusion of utensils to food orders. The restaurant would not consider any accommodation and was very rude making excuses for themselves. For that reason I would never eat there and the second reason is the food was not very good.
Absolutely the worst Pad Thai I've ever had in my life. a big syropy glop with no vegetables or color
