Opinions de Taco Fiesta San Diego
Taco Fiesta has wonderful food. Being vegetarian I get their potato tacos, guac, quesadillas. The quality of the food is excellent and their guac is one of my favs. It is nice to grab and go (they have some outdoor seating )- I think most people just hit the drive through. If you are over near the Home Depot on Mission Gorge, definitely check out! Very good quality, even though looks dumpy on outside- don’t judge the book by its cover 🥰
Great hole in the wall except the hole is a whole Mexican food shop. Been around for ages and they used to be 24/7 and still had the highest food rating 97 back in the 2020 era. They are no longer 24/7 but the food quality has stayed steady. Great burritos and a carne asada fries!!
I used to come here 20 years ago for their Carne asada nachos. I finally came here again and they are just as good as I remember them. Prices are reasonable too. They actually give you a lot of salsa by default. It bothers me when other taco shops give you 2 red sauce for 3 burritos. This place hooks you up on the portions and on the salsa. Friendly staff and food is ready fast. Drive through or walk up to order. Very happy.
Nothing but the best, 24 hour, goto, midnight munchie, drive thru, taco shop. Food is always better then good. Service is as expected-good. Wait times are short. And open 24 hours. My personal favorite is their Carne Asada Burrito and Adobada anything with sour cream. Makes my toes curl. Just sayin'
Everything on the menu was a crazy good deal and I was surprised at how delicious my meal was for the price. Burritos are big and have so much guac and meat in them- none of that cheap filler stuff. Service was quick, even at 10 o’clock at night and my food ready very quickly. Definitely would come again! 10/10
I got the carne asada plate and it met my expectations. They gave me plenty of carne asada, rice and beans portion were kinda small, which is average compared to most taco shops. I got 2 huge flour tortillas though. The 5 rolled tacos we're good with plenty of sour cream, lettuce and cheese. This is my girl's go-to dish. I usually get their California burrito which is good also. If you're in this part of the neighborhood, you can't go wrong here.
I ordered a Machaca with no egg torta and I've got a shredded beef torta instead (I'm Mexican, I know the difference). It was alright, I would've have it again though. My husband got a carne asada burrito and he absolutely loved it. I'm not a fan of eating outdoors, there was a lady close to us smoking (I'm pregnant) and also a little windy and cold but overall it was good. Went there for a second time and tried 3 items and I was sadly disappointed.
Quality and service have went down hill over the last few years. My last visit was the final straw. Portions are smaller, food not nearly as good as before. 2014-2021 this was the spot but sadly don’t think I’ll be returning ever again. One positive thing I’ll say is their prices are still decent for what that’s worth.
Maybe the burritos are good but carne asada tacos are not. good price but not good. Lots of meat but not good flavor, hella wet (look at the photo of how much they were dripping) if you waited five minutes to eat them the tortillas would be completely soggy.) no toppings besides 1.5 tablespoons of guacamole. Salsa roja was pretty bad. Two plastic cups of red salsa that had way too much tomato and might be better with spaghetti than tacos. I try to always get carne asada tacos when I go to taco shops so that I can have a fair comparison and these were not great. Carne asada tacos are a benchmark usually for the rest of the food especially if the place has the word taco in the name. I think this place is popular because the location.
Surprisingly this was the only Mexican shop that we found that was opened on New Year’s Day. It wasn’t my first choice but it was opened. When trying a place for the first time, I always get the basic carne asada burrito. The burrito was on point but no guacamole. It’s also slightly smaller than other nearby shops. Tortilla remained soft which I liked. The meat was not chewy and it had flavor. The fish burrito was the opposite. It was a bust. You can tell it was previously frozen and the batter kept on breaking and tasted all doughy. The service was super fast. There are so many other Mexican shops along this street that I haven’t tried therefore I won’t be returning here.
While ordering, I asked the lady to switch my order for something else. She said she can’t remove it from my order cause they’re already making it. WHY ARE YOU MAKING AN ORDER BEFORE IM DONE ORDERING? Because I’m nice I paid for it and I didn’t just drive off for the audacity. Years of coming here and never heard of such thing. Not coming back
Devastating that this is the second time I’ve been guilt tripped over an honest mistake. The food is great but it’s not worth being accused of trying to swindle them. I asked for a burrito with asada, rice and beans, they ask me to confirm I said asada and I said yes, once I get to the window I double check my order BEFORE paying so they could adjust it as needed, and the man gave me a look like I was trying to pull a fast one on him and said I wanted the fiesta burrito. Sir, could you not have mentioned that when I ordered??? Again, I verified to make sure I could be charged accordingly, and instead they charged me for an asada burrito and made me feel bad about it. This isn’t an isolated incident with being made to feel guilty for not knowing how they operate. One night I come through the drive thru, not aware that you couldn’t pick up online orders there so I went ahead and parked, and got my kiddo and dog out with me to grab the order. The man proceeded to tell me I needed to show him the email confirmation to get the order, so there I go calling my mom who’s busy at work to figure out her order, and after I’ve already bothered her they say “oh well we’ll let it slide this time, but it can’t happen again since people steal orders” sir. I had the confirmation number in a forwarded text, how the heck am I supposed to know you want a damn screenshot of the email in addition to that?!? It’s put us off from ordering online, which is what let to me trying to order from the drive thru instead 🥴 obviously I can’t win so we’ll take our business elsewhere from here on out.
Make sure your food is hot before leaving. Last couple of times I’ve been there my burritos have been cold
Man, I've been coming here since high school. Been my local taco shop for 10+ years. Today, I ordered a carnitas plate with flour tortillas. The plate came with corn tortillas. I went up, explained the mix up and asked for the correct item that I ordered, and the employee told me that I ordered corn and that he'd have to charge me extra for flour tortillas. He kept insisting when I assured him that I ordered flour. I know for certain that I ordered flour tortillas. It was very rude and poor service. I wasn't trying to pull a fast one on him. It was just rude and poor customer service. I've been in the service industry for years and I get it. Customers can be annoying and game it to get more free stuff. But I wasn't doing that. Just asking for what I ordered and paid for. The food has always been ~pretty good~. It's more just the convenience that this place was by my high school and where my friends and I would always go. Still always enjoyed my meal when I've gone for the past 10+ years ... but today has really put a bad taste in my mouth. That was some really disappointing service that has made me think I won't ever be going back. There goes a customer of 10+ years. Real bad business.
Try to order drive thru for my family of five a shrimp burrito , I asked if they could make it without the sauce and the person on the speaker sarcastically said, “ what do you want me to cook it with , water? we left the drive thru and We went across the street to Sobreros taco shop and their service was excellent. They were happy to take my 75 dollar Order. Thank you sombreros for your amazing service .
Not about the food but this place is right in front of a busy coffee shop sharing space on parking lot, but it is obvious one side is for the coffee shop the other for them. I was heading to get a coffee at 8 am and as I was pulling up in to the parking lot and there is a car pulling out on the coffee shop side so my husband who is the one driving backs up in to the parking space of the taco shop so he gives enough space to the car in front to be able to back up and get out, I have a newborn in the car so I am trying to make the process as fast as possible, I tell my husband I’m going to get out and go order while you park. I get out of the back seat and head inside the coffee shop… tell me why the taco shop man comes behind me all the way inside the coffee shop and starts telling me hey you are parked in two parking spaces I told him oh no my husband is inside the car he is not parking he is backing up waiting for the car in front to move, he then again said you parked in 2 parking spaces, I said we are not parked sir and he repeats one more time !! In such a rude way. I called my husband right away, and let him know what had happened he said I’m already parked idk whats his problem. I feel so disrespect and disgusted with the man’s behavior he had an apron on too like his job is in the kitchen he was having such a bad day I’m guessing that he wanted to makes others have one too . There parking lot of the taco shop was completely empty no cars not even one, its not like we were blocking a customer from parking, how nasty of a person can they be to do this kind of behavior. I hope he reads this and thinks about his behavior next time. After seeing the reviews he should be cleaning the taco shop instead of wasting his time harassing people.
I have been coming here for roughly 8 years, they have amazing salsa and great cali burritos. However, they must have a new cook cuz they are skimping on every burrito like its a bag of lays chips with mostly air. I always ask for extras in my burritos but it's absolutely unacceptable to charge me extra and give me such a toddler sized burrito. Does this look worth roughly $20 to you? Will likely never come back and recommend against this location to everyone i know. 👎
I really like this place's food. It almost always tastes great and is a much better value than the 5 other Mexican places nearby. Unfortunately, none of that matters. While eating my burrito, I put some of the remaining lettuce and guacamole that was on the 3 rolled tacos into the burrito. After a few bites, I bit into what I thought was a bone. It was a wooden toothpick, likely one used to hold the rolled taco together while frying. This is a potentially dangerous mistake and inexcusable.
Just wanna say the food is good, and i always come here since I live close. But today the service and food was horrible. Be careful going here at night. Everything was fine until I pulled up to the window. The rude cashier asked me for my pin number I said sure, can I type it in and she said something rude and told me to wait. Sorry, but I am not going to tell you my pin number. Also i come here so offen that I know when they ask for pins they will give you the machine. I keyed it in and she gives me my food. The container was light for carne asada fries and when i looked at it it was half way filled. I called and ask to comeback and the caisher said sure. I live down the street so I was only a minute away. Once back she looked at it and said so what. I pointed to the half filled container and said I order a full size not half. She grabbed the food and took it to the cook who then try to shake it so it can lay flat and fill in the gaps. She told me to wait and I step back until she called me. I said thanks and left. I just opened it and it's all fries. I PAID ALMOST $13.00 for fries. This was my go to spot. Everyone was so nice and the food is always amazing but to just give me fries and sour cream... really. I want to say I'm never going back, but I have a weakness for mexican food. So if you order check your food before you drive off. I should have checked again but didn't belive that this would happen. But now I know. Either pay full price for a smaller size or pay full price for only fries and sour cream.
