Absolutely what we expected! Great service, people and ambiance 🤗 We wanted to try everything, but we ended up sharing the "works!" We also ordered extra appetizers to complete the lunch craving 😋 Order the Top Gun 🍺 😉 Hubby asked for the souvenir items and we bought a few 👍#greatballsoffire

Same bartender for 25 years! This famous "watering hole" has a wealth of history and nostalgia! If you get the opportunity to sit at the bar, do so! It'll make all the difference in your meal! To see the piano and posted photos of the "Top Gun" movie 🎬 filmed the bar scene at this location, makes people smile, laugh and try to reenact the scenes! It's awesome! Oh, the food, the brisket, "burnt ends" are OUTSTANDING with the exact proper name, "Kansas City BBQ!" You'll be combined you're in KC! The seating is limited so be ready to wait!

Well, what to say? As a Top Gun fan i was in heaven. I will probably never visit more cool bar than this one. Full of aviation stuff, top gun artefacts and cool atmosphere. We have Mac and Cheese, it was not the best what i ate but still, its the TOP GUN. bar!!! Definetly recommended!!

Went there for lunch after completing our Seal Tour nearby, with my Navy daughter and granddaughter. We enjoyed an Kansas City barbecue meal (mainly ribs and chicken), which was comparable to other decent barbecue restaurants. But the “stand out” dish was the corn ribs, which were extremely tasty, hearty, and very unique, at least for us. The atmosphere is fun, historic, and nostalgic, especially the piano and alcove and bar, which we immediately recognized from the movie, “Top Gun.” We loved the “Top Gun” references, photos, and memorabilia, which included other naval aviation history. It is definitely worth the stop!

The atmosphere is amazing and the food is even better. Staff is really friendly. I live in San Diego amd it was my first time dining here amd really liked the nostalgic feel of the restaurant. Will definitely go back.

We came here initially because of the fact the “Great balls of fire” scene from the original Top Gun was filmed here, which alone made it a really cool visit. However, we were super impressed by how good the food was! I had the pulled pork sandwich with Onion rings and fries, along with a canned Moscow mule cocktail. It was all extremely tasty and I was thoroughly full after! However, this didn’t stop me from also having the s’mores brownie, which was so big the rest of my table had to “assist” me with finishing it haha. On top of this, the atmosphere outside was really relaxed and it made having conversation easy, and the music in the background was a mix of great songs. Overall, really 5 stars all round.

Has been on my bucket list since the 80’s and getting here did not disappoint even though I do know it had been fire damaged back in 2008 you’d never know. The majority of us went for the lunch plate options cracking value at around $20 Pork ribs, brisket burnt ends, pulled pork, cheesy corn, bbq beans just wow! All with the piano and lots of memorabilia in the bar. You can tell the meat has been given love over lots of hours smoking and charring.

I stop here every time I’m in San Diego to see Chris and Chris (my favorite bartenders) and get my bbq and BS fix. The bbq is on-point for KC style bbq. I know because I grew up in KC. But before you walk in here, maybe you should ask yourself a few questions in order to spare this amazing place future weird reviews: Am I afraid of bras? Will my life be diminished by reading a few irreverent bumper stickers? Am I put off by people who are unapologetically authentic? Do I prefer whitewashed, soulless, corporate places? If your answer to these questions is “No” then you won’t regret stopping here. If ya do stop, give Chris and Chris high fives and hugs for me!

Real deal Kansas City BBQ. Go early to get the burnt ends. Pulled pork is smokey tender delicious good with the Italian style coleslaw. Be sure to try the cheesy corn side dish. Marci is a great server

What an absolute delight! Delicious food great service and amazing atmosphere. Whole place was dripping with top gun memorabilia pictures, photo op, and just oozing with 80s peak Tom Cruise highly recommend Beer and wine only *

Came for the experience and was blown away with the service and the amazing food. We had a little bit of everything and wasn’t disappointed. Great patio with the breeze coming off the bay. Definitely make this a stop next time you’re in San Diego.

Great place that I had never known existed, until now. We went on a Sunday afternoon so place was not busy or hoppin. But the drinks were cold, service fast, Onion Rings great. We ordered one meal with 3 meats and shared. The ribs I did not try and were the least favored by hubby. But the Brisket was tender, and the Burn’t Ends were even better! We got a pic of the 4 of us by the Piano that Goose played, so that was cool.

Nostalgia is definitely the best way to describe this place. If you're a former NAVY person who served on a ship, you will get a chance to search for the ship that you were stationed on. First responders also have a lot of memorabilia to see here. The Marine Corps is here as well!

Great Bar and REALLY GOOD FOOD. I definitely recommend visiting. Plus, all the cheesy Top Gun memorabilia. How can you pass that up? I ordered the rib tips, and they did not disappoint. Also, the fried pickles with their spicy sauce is legit.

Brisket a bit on dry side. Overall a decent barbecue place. Kansas City barbecue would be rated 3 in Kansas City but the Top gun tie in makes it worth a stop. Service about what you be expect In a tourist area.

The food was ok, the service was a bit below that, it was all a bit flat, unfortunately. I loved both of these movies and was excited to go to lunch here, but it didn't hold up to my expectations, sadly 😞 I'm not in the habit of writing up bad reviews, but I have to be honest.

Delicious brisket. Coleslaw wasn't bad. Needs a thorough cleaning. Someone needs to taste the sauce before it goes out. Check onion rings before you serve greasy overcooked ones. When Maverick has to leave, they need an understudy. Nostalgic

Waited a long time even though it was half empty, waiter got the orders a bit mixed up in cheques and was saying that i needed to be charged twice, but i kept saying no - because i was charged appropriately for all my items. I took my card and left after paying. Service was slow although we were like the only table in that section. Lots of mix ups. Space on the tables were cramped. Price was too high for what we got. It was good, just not THAT good. I got one combo, one glass of wine and a shared pickles appetizer. Thr friend mac n cheese balls were also nice. Again, nothing spectacular. They changed where the piano is.
