Opinions de Tabac San Diego
A truly wonderful experience beyond expectations! We discovered Tabac+ by chance, and I’m so glad we did. The owner is incredibly friendly and clearly passionate about what he does—and that positive energy is reflected in the whole team. Service was fast, professional, and full of genuine warmth. The atmosphere is calm and thoughtfully designed. You can tell there's attention to detail in everything. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and the little complimentary touches throughout the evening made it even more special. It’s rare to find this level of quality and hospitality. Fully deserving of 5 stars!
Great hookah lounge in downtown San Diego. They have seating inside and also a lot of seats outside. The hookah is great and there are a lot of options and flavors you can get. They also have food, drinks and desserts. The smoothies are delicious. All of the staff are awesome. Today I tried a tea that was really good. They have outlets at the tables to charge electronics.
Fabulous.. Great atmosphere, Delicious hookah and very good hosting.. Sweets are just 👌👌👌

I don’t smoke tobacco, but when I do, I do it at Tabac.
Great hookah spot with fresh flavors and a relaxing vibe. Miray, who works in the evenings, is always friendly, caring, and attentive—and she’s pretty too! Highly recommend for a chill night out.
Everything was nice buy they need more staff👍 Also the charged extra tip on top of the $60 gratuity
Very nice place. Hookah is very good quality, they use calaud, mix is not burning. Interior attracts by originality. Exotic teas, there are snacks on the menu. Board games available. Personnel is super nice. Highly recommended.

The Katmer (كاتمير) was a highlight for sure, the black tea was great, and their moroccan tea (mint)

Very clean . Quick service. 🏃♀️ food desert smoothie great . hookah was very good 💨
My friend and I were visiting San Diego and wanted to try a hookah spot close to our hotel. We were really happy to stumble upon Tabac. We sat outside til about 12 then went inside. It was pretty busy around 10pm but in a good way where the atmosphere was lovely but still chill. The hookah was smooth with the lotus head and lasted us for about 3 hrs. The Turkish coffee was average at best. All the servers were nice and prompt! We also had a chance to play backgammon which was available upon request!!! Prices are great.
A convenient hookah cafe in the downtown San Diego to take a break and relax with their drinks and hookah. Unique with their decorations that takes you to the Middle East and specifically Turkey. The place is furnished with new hookas and they have their unique style with presenting the drinks with the pots. The service is fast, but replacing the coco nara coals is very slow. You need to say something about it in the beginning or tip the guy maybe
Lovely laid-back hookah lounge. Had fantastic hot chai tea, and the manager was kind enough to help a first-timer! Very chill place!
Very cozy atmosphere, a great Happy Hour deal for hookahs, lots of flavor options, and a good variety of food/desserts/drinks. The Turkish coffee was very nice. The staff is also very friendly and professional. Just needs more ventilation because it can get too smokey.

I’ve been to so many hookah lounges and cafes around Southern California and Tabac definitely has a great hookah. The food and tea is decent. Parking is a pain and there is usually no parking in and around the block or two around it. There is a parking lot a couple of blocks away. The other downside is that it’s a small place with limited inside seating and one bathroom that has a line when they are busy. Outside seating is okay but they have no heaters, so when it’s cold, it’s cold and isn’t pleasant to sit outside. The biggest issue I have is the service. The staff is hit or miss. My last two visits were a couple of weeks apart and I found myself having to ask for things multiple times. We ordered tea and had to ask multiple times for sweetener and waited over 10 minutes before it was brought out. By this time the tea was getting cold, as we were sitting outside in the cold. When we asked for charcoal after ours dwindled down to tiny cubes, it took another 20 minutes before we got charcoal. It was over 45 minutes of smoking before the charcoals were finally replaced. There are simple improvements that can be made to make this place 5 stars. Train staff to be more attentive and responsive to guest needs and get some heaters for the outside seating. After repeat visits of poor service, I’m not sure if I would ever come back with so many other options in San Diego.

So we made a reservation and came on time. The place was empty and we were the first customers at 5 pm. The waiter Mohammed mentioned it is a happy hour. We ordered items from the happy hour menu and we even asked about other items if they were on the happy hour. When we got the bill. The waiter charged us full price only to show us that the happy hour was not available on Saturday. He completely misled us and he claimed he told us and we could not hear him from the chaos. We asked questions about the happy hour and kept ordering from there. We even asked if the appetizer platter was on the happy hour. I don’t know what kind of management runs that place but keeping happy hour menu on the table on Friday to Sunday when it is not available is deceitful even after discussing it with the first waiter. I paid the full price knowing that I was scammed. The food was good and I liked the decoration and the ambience but I hated to be scammed. May be make the font bigger on the menu next time and explain to the customers. There are a lot of choices in San Diego and competition is big.

I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone who expects a reasonable level of customer service. My experience began with an online reservation that, upon arrival, staff claimed did not exist. After I presented the confirmation on my phone, we were ultimately seated in a dimly lit section at the very back of the restaurant. It then took approximately 25 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our table and take our order. The first portion of our order arrived after an additional 15 minutes, and the remaining items did not arrive until roughly 25 minutes later. Unfortunately, the drinks we received were poorly prepared and did not meet even basic quality expectations. In hindsight, I regret not reading the reviews beforehand. Given my experience, I am genuinely surprised by the 4.5-star rating and the number of positive reviews associated with this location, as they do not reflect the service or quality I encountered. Overall, this was a highly disappointing visit, and I would not recommend this place to others.
Place was okay and food was average. But it lacked service and atmosphere was horrible. Server was super slow. She took long time to even come to our table for order. In the end we were charged 18 percent gratuity (we were only 2 people including me). When I asked server about gratuity she told us that they add gratuity from Friday to Sunday for everyone irrespective of the size of group. That information was not mentioned anywhere (or even if it is mentioned somewhere then not easily accessible when you go through their website). Please Beware and avoid this place.
