December 2021: Ordered a build my own poki bowl to go. Was very pleased with my order. Chose tuna, salmon and albacore on brown rice. Portions of fish was very generous. I asked for the classic sauce and spicy mayo. The combination was very tasty 😋. Topping options are very good. Avocado is available for no extra charge 👍. Overall, was very tasty and fresh. Would come back again for more delicious food!
Excellent poke - custom made to your flavor preference. It's our new go-to place for dinner when we want something quick, healty and delish!! It's close to everything downtown, easy to get to and great location - get it to go and sit in Ruocco Park, the Seaport Village seawall, or Embarcadero Marina Park - or eat inside or in The Headquarters patio area - or at home - great wherever you want to enjoy it. Large enough portions to split for some now, some later. My husband didn't think he'd be a poke fan, and now it's one of his favorites. They opened on 2017 - we're glad they made it through the panademic crush - now let's support and eat there often!!
Delivery was super fast and communication was excellent. The food was really fresh and tasted great!
Great place to eat. Made my own poke bowl. Fish was fresh and portion sizes were big. Though secluded in a small shopping area next to the seaport, you still get plenty of sunshine and sea breeze. Helps also that the staff is really friendly!
Perfect after spending a full day touring San Diego on foot.
We visited Seaport Village a few months ago, and being very hungry and running out of time before our train departure, we decided to try this place. Our kids, 9 and 13, loved the idea of creating their own bowl and being in charge of the ingredients. Needless to say, they both loved their dinner that was fresh and filling, delicious and available fast. We just visited that area again, and kids couldn't wait to go back to Hi Poke. Service was fast again, the server was friendly, all the food was delicious and fresh. We'll be back next time we're in San Diego!
Located in a little shopping center Small restaurant with 5-6 small tables inside. Customers also have access to outdoor seating. Ordered Tofu Poke here with brown rice, seaweed, green onions, wasabi, corn, cilantro, spicy sauce crispy onions and toasted sesame seeds. They have many other toppings and different spice levels for their sauces. There is even a baked option that requires an 8 min wait. Loved my poke bowl and would definitely come here again
The owner of Hi Poke went out of their way to make sure we could still eat when they ran out of certain ingredients. They ended up making our food themselves and even let us stay a little after close so we could eat. The owner and the other staff there were extremely kind and friendly. The food was SO good and fresh too! You can definitely tell that everyone who works here enjoys and cares about what they do. Highly recommend Hi Poke for an amazing meal!
Gluten free & vegan options! It is a standard prep line of food so cross contamination is possible but for non serious allergies, it was fine. The bowls were delicious and huge! We also got waters which seemed pricey until we saw the giant bottles they came in! 10/10 highly recommend
The lady who served me was patient with me even though I had many questions and took a while. The food was even better than the service, however, surprising even my mom with the spicy level, and had her keep coming back to my bowl for more! I also really enjoyed the food and ate it right up, as did my sibling. Overall, a wonderful experience and a must see when you're stopping by!
This place was delightful! Cute, off the beaten path, not super busy, plenty of seating. The food was so yummy. I sat in the sunshine while I munched on my spicy ahi bowl. They had plenty of ingredient options to choose from like a normal poke place should, and they were all tasty. I normally take pictures of the place too but sometimes it's awkward when people are sitting inside. 😅 it was a cute little place... just have to trust me.
Really wood poke They are really nice and food is good. My daughters loved it
My friend invited me to try Hi Poke in Downtown San Diego. I had the Scallop Dynamite, which is baked, and I loved the ingredient options, especially the edamame, seaweed, crab, onions, and more! There are plenty of tables and seating both inside and outside, which is nice. The staff is friendly, and the place itself is pretty good. The only downside is that the bathroom is quite far, you have to walk to the Jail Museum and ask for the code. But on the bright side, it’s a great spot to explore! Just a heads-up, parking always comes with a fee (it’s downtown, after all, haha).
I went to get Gelato and they gave me many samples. Great costumer service. Highly recommend.
Super fresh made-to-order poke bowls. Many options to customize your bowl with protein, sauces, veggies, crunchies etc. Great value. Quick service. Clean and bright. Nice servers. Located inside ‘The Headquarters’ near Seaport Village. It’s not very easy to find but totally worth finding. We had: rice, greens, albacore, spicy tuna, cucumber, pickles ginger, scallions, crab, crispy garlic, sesame seeds. Yummy 😋
visited this place after a long day at the SD zoo and the owner's attitude was a breath of fresh air! very kind guy! ordered the salmon lover along with a PYOP bowl. fish quality was pretty good despite it being 8pm and they carried those Hawaii sun soft drinks. David gave me a free cookie (unrelated to leaving a review). highly recommend! I would be a regular here. also the avocado is free which is so baller and so epic.
Pretty great poke place that has tons of bowls they make or you can build your own! All the options you’d come to expect at a poke place. Service is friendly and fast. You can be in and out within 10 minutes. If you’re hanging out, eat on the patio out front or walk a few minutes to the seafront at Seaport Village. A little pricier than most, but to be expected at this location.
Poke simply done well! No frills just solid food. Proteins portions a little on the conservative side but overall really fresh High quality poke. Hit the spot when I was in town and speaking with David, the owner, was really pleasant. Happy to support this small business and I’m glad I stopped in!! I recommend the octopus salad as a side it’s so clean and refreshing.
We visited San Diego for a conference and ate here EVERY DAY for the entire trip. The food is so good, portions are great, and Shakila was so friendly and helpful and provided excellent service. I’m so disappointed that this place is so far from home!
Excellent poke bowl with pretty much unlimited toppings! I love that I can get edamame and seaweed salad on top of fish (protein) x 3. Delish & quite filling for $12. Great service too! Went there 2 times in 2 days.
Disappointed I stopped here my last day in town. Would have been multiple times if I found it sooner. Ordered poke bowl with salmon, spicy tuna, crab, seaweed salad, cucumber salad, jalapeño, ginger, dried seaweed, white rice, lava sauce. Highly recommend visiting this establishment.
Fresh, delicious poke! Enjoyed walking over from the convention to sneak in a bowl. Some of the other reviews mentioned the portion sizes, but I think that’s on them for skimping out on the toppings!! My portion was filling with yummy greens, veggies, salmon, and rice.

Edited review: The owner David reached out to us immediately to let us know the employee is no longer working there. He's refunded our meal, and offered to give us a free meal the next time we're back in San Diego. We really appreciate his service and professionalism. Original review: I wish I could give this place zero stars. The man working tonight (10/16) was extremely rude greeting us by saying "I'm closed but whatever" it was 8:20 when we walked in, even though closing is at 9 and the place was empty. He had saran wrapped all of the food and insisted on serving us. when he asked for the toppings he removed everything one by one, ripping the saran wrap off instead of just lifting it up and sighing the entire time. He was extremely rude and made my fiance' and I very uncomfortable.. We asked two questions about the sauces and once we picked one, he said "thereeee you gooo" demeaningly as if you would to a dog or a young child. He also kept calling me buddy. When It was my turn to order the toppings, he asked for it all at once, and then told me to go stand by the door away from my partner. while I stood near the door, he asked me more questions about the toppings that he forgot about then he said he couldn't hear me so I walked over to answer him, and he got upset, saying "what are you doing over here? I told you to stand over there didn't I? I'm done with you." He dropped my partner's bowl and had to remake it, and he got my order wrong. Bro tries to remember peoples order all at once and fails. This guy clearly hates his job, which is unfortunate... it's sad seeing old people like him in these positions, but this is just bad business, and extremely unprofessional. Maybe go to McDonald's and flip burgers. This guy shouldn't be allowed to talk to people.

This place had good options for building your own poke bowl with 3 types of fish. The tuna and salmon were fresh and the toppings were great. A tad pricey however.
Tasty poke. Ate here twice. Classic bowl very flavorful, good fish. I found the tropical crunchy bowl enjoyable, but not very filling both because the included fish are simply not filling (small shrimp, primarily), and because the tortilla chips which occupy most of the bowl are also not filling. Friendly service, gets through the line quickly.
Had a delicious roasted tofu bowl and found some surprise drinks in their cooler that were all delicious. The coffee one especially. The staff were nice and the place looked clean.
Friendly staff is patient while you decide. I recommend building your own bowl for roughly a dollar more (than the menus classic bowls) and heading over there an hour after opening for the freshest fish. The store is well-lit and clean. There were plenty of sitting areas inside and out. Definitely a go to for a quick lunch bite!
Fairly good poke, not the freshest in San Diego but a great grab n go spot. Very pricey especially if you want more proteins (>$25 per bowl).
Great little Poke spot, food was on point, however imo a little pricey considering the portion size. Pictured is the classic poke bowl (~$18 USD) and a bag of chip (~$4) 🤑.

This was overpriced and underwhelming. Food was not great, small portions.
Pretty okay poke. Similar quality (and price!) to the poke that I had the same Diego airport. Portions a bit small especially considering the price. Interior is odd. Looks like a typical fast casual spot but then they have nice red table linens. Nothing wrong with that, but just... Odd.
Closed during lunch hour when we went (Google Maps hours indicated they were open). When they reopened, they were out of many items, like salmon. Employee was friendly and courteous.
There were signs all outside directing you to the general location of this place, however, once in the square there were no signs. Based on the GPS which was slightly inaccurate, it took a minute once in the square to find this place. The signage is bland and doesn't catch the eye. Once inside it seemed like any other poke spot, although a little smaller inside. The price is slightly higher then the average poke I've been to, but this is likely the norm since this is California (I'm out of Texas). The employee was great and explained anything when I had questions. The food was average, nothing exciting or different. Overall decent.

Overpriced for the given portion and over-seasoned poke 🫠
My daughter wanted Poke after we visited the Midway museum. This place seemed ideal, but they were closed when we got there around 3pm. Frustrating since this was not stated in the scheduled hours. Little sign in the window with a be back at 4 message. We had walked a bit since we.were using the trolley that day and weren't going to commit to hanging around an hour. Seemed like a nice that fit the seaport village vibe. Pretty dead that day since it had been raining.

Sad to give this place one 🌟 star. This place is way expensive for the quality of good and amount. We order 3 bowls and 3 drinks the price was over $52.00. The rice was undercooked. The cucumber had a vinegar taste covering they were old cucumbers. They even charge $1.00 extra for a few mango cubes. I am disappointed 😞as well my family. I included a picture that shows what I order.
Ordered a poke bowl and it was missing 9 of the toppings I added to the order...basically got a bowl of rice with a few pieces of salmon on top. Would give this place zero stars if possible
The build your own bowl menu prices online still say $18.95, but when walking into the establishment today, they are, in fact, $20.95. I understand the cost of doing business has increased, but my bowl was only half full with three proteins and the extra scoop of crab. I only received maybe 7 chips, which did not taste good. When I asked the employee if I could have a little extra toppings, she apologized and said they are not allowed to unless I want to pay extra. Very nice customer service, but I will not be returning. It's not worth the price, and for $23 all in, I'm still hungry. I am very disappointed in the ownership. Please correct your menu prices and marketing photos to reflect the current prices and current portion sizes of your products.
