Best food I have had all year. Visited San Francisco in February craving Venezuelan food and this was the perfect spot. Every meal was so amazing and memorable, I still think about it to this day! (It’s been 9 months). The papelón was the best I have had all year. Will definitely go back when I’m in town and highly recommend it to anyone in the area!! You have to try this place!!
We recently tried this Venezuelan restaurant in San Francisco after seeing the great reviews and beautiful pictures online and it exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The location is perfect, easy to find. Inside, the space is elegant and inviting, with music that immediately transported me back home. The menu is authentic and thoughtfully designed, offering all the classics that Venezuelan food lovers crave. We started with the pabellón empanadas and tequeños, both absolutely delicious. Followed by patacón and pabellón.On weekends, they serve a fantastic sancocho, and I was even able to take home frozen tequeños for later which was such a treat! This place truly captures the flavors and warmth of Venezuela. We can’t wait to come back, especially for one of their live music nights on the weekend. A gem in the Bay Area!
I have never eaten in a Latin restaurant before. The menu is truly not what I was used to but I did enjoy the experience, the service and the food. I had a shredded beef areas, which is basically a type of a sandwich using corn meal instead of flour. The meal is extremely messy to eat, but quite delicious. I had a good experience overall and I would return.
came in on a friday and it was pretty busy. we didn’t have to wait and the food came out quickly. the arepas were fantastic, really great work being done here. really soft and flavorful. sweet plantains were so good too
If you wanna have the best authentic Venezuelan this is the place, the restaurant is so cute, food is AMAZING, attention is 10/10!!! Btw you will get addicted.
Cute and comfortable interior, with fire food. The cachapa with chicharrón and queso de casa was the highlight, but the sampler and the parillada mar y tierra were also fire.
"Arepas San Francisco" is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with vibrant Latin music that sets the perfect mood. This restaurant isn't just a place to eat; it's an experience. The arepas themselves are phenomenal. The "Cochinita" arepa was incredibly moist and flavorful, and the shredded beef arepa was simply divine. The quality of the ingredients is evident in every bite. * The mini arepas are perfectly crispy on the outside, and the fillings are generous and delicious. Also the Empanadas are very good, with generous filling, and great flavor. The house sauce is a must-try, and the green salsa adds a fantastic kick. The menu offers a wide variety of Latin American dishes, ensuring there's something for everyone. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations. They were very welcoming, and made the experience very enjoyable. The restaurant has a lively and energetic vibe, with upbeat Latin music that creates a fun and festive atmosphere. Ricard Sr and Jr were professional and provided excellent customer service. The restaurant also has a bar area, and a loft area with a wine bar, and a stage for live music. This adds to the great atmosphere. It's a great place for a casual meal with friends or family. Arepas San Francisco" delivers an authentic and delicious Venezuelan culinary experience. The combination of excellent food, friendly service, and a vibrant atmosphere makes it a must-visit restaurant in San Francisco. Ihighly recommend "Arepas San Francisco" to anyone looking for a flavorful and memorable dining experience. I can't wait to return!
Came here for take out. They have a bar area to wait and they did take requests so I was able to watch some basketball. There is a wine bar loft and a small stage for live music. I would definitely come back for there alone. We tried 2 of their arepas and they were very filled. House sauce was great. Cochinita was moist. Service was very friendly while I was waiting.
Fresh and new, great food at very reasonable prices and great service. Will definitely go back. The arepas are varied and excellent. Save room for dessert, especially the Venezuelan flan. There’s also a cozy bar upstairs perfect for after work or a date. The wine is pretty good and also very reasonable. 👍
We happen to come across this place as we were killing time in San Francisco, and could not resist coming in here for some arepas. So glad we did! It wasn't very busy, as it was around 5:00 p.m., but I'm sure they get busy later than that. The arepas were delicious! We also tried their version of flan, which we loved, and had some drinks. Highly recommend this place. I love that they have mini-arepas!!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Arepas San Francisco, and it was nothing short of fantastic. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the flavorful sauce that accompanied the dishes, elevating each bite to a new level of deliciousness. The Arepitas Sliders were an absolute delight, perfectly crafted and bursting with flavor. Additionally, the Picada Colombiana Chopped was a revelation, superbly seasoned and expertly prepared, showcasing the chefs' attention to detail and commitment to quality. The meal was made even more memorable by the dessert – a superb Passion Fruit Cheesecake. This dessert was a perfect blend of tangy and sweet, with the passion fruit adding a unique, tropical twist to the classic cheesecake. Every element of my dining experience at Arepas San Francisco, from the appetizers to the dessert, was carefully curated and beautifully executed. This restaurant is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking unique and delicious dishes. I highly recommend it and am already looking forward to my next visit.
Very nice and cozy environment. Music and lighting is spot on! I visited when it was raining a bit, spot just seemed perfect for a quick bite. Lots of coffee and Wine choices. Menu is decent for bites not very extensive but gets the job done!
The best Venezuelan food in the United States. They have everything
Have to admit, this place was in a mental blind spot for me until a friend recommended it. Turns out it's delightful! The place was totally empty on a Monday night, but the service was very friendly, the food was solid, the decor was lively, and the seating was comfortable. Looking forward to going back 😊

Great place to have gluten free food, such arepas and cachapas and wonderful traditional Venezuelan place with Venezuelan beer “Polar” excellent for dinner of just to have a couple of drinks with friends and hangout. They have live performances Friday nights. We tried arepa Pelua. We ordered the sampler that has mini arepas, empanadas beef and chicken and tequeños. We also order cachapa with “ quedo de mano” the extra $3 are worth the wonderful texture and experience you will have with this very unique and special cheese. I miss having a place to bring people in San Francisco for traditional Venezuelan food. The owner did a wonderful job on bringing a little piece of Venezuelan to San Francisco. They have vegetarian dishes, gluten free and traditional Venezuelan food all under one roof. Extensive drinks such as sangria, beer and wine selection. They also gave Venezuelan drinks such as chicha, Malta and frescolita as well as jugo de parchita! ( passion fruit) So yummy, great vibe. Attentive waiters We had a wonderful night
This place is awesome! Food was so good I’d come here every day if I lived nearby. Service was attentive and quick, drinks came soon after sitting, and they let us just hang out after eating instead of rushing us for the check. Really solid spot.
A very pleasant place with a menu that took me back to Venezuela. If you're familiar with Venezuelan food, when you read the menu you'll order one of each dish. The food is quite good. I didn't give it 5 stars only because I felt it lacked a touch, but I'm sure it's because the ingredients in the US aren't 100% the same as those in Venezuela. The service was excellent. If you're Venezuelan, you have to go, and if not, even more so you should check this place out. I'll be back very soon. Thank you Arepas, to brink a piece of Venezuela to us.
One word comes to mind - solid! Great food, service, setting and drinks. I had no expectations when we walked in, it was late for Sam Francisco to get some dinner. As we didn't want to go and go for an endless walk and refute every restaurant we came across we decided to give Arepas a try. I'm typically a bit hesitant to go for Latin as it can be a bit on the filling side, yet we either picked the right dishes or the kitchen in general serves light refreshing dishes. The portions are large so go easy with ordering, the flavours crisp and distinct. My favorite for sure was the Chicharron Ceviche. Not only is the presentation beautiful, the flavours are stunning. Well done I will be back.
We visited Arepas after the Carnaval parade and were not impressed. They seated us at the bar without having capacity to serve us, so we waited almost an hour for food and for refills of water glasses. When my cachapa arrived, it was almost burnt to a crisp, but they mostly tried to cover up the burnt with cheese and cream. The burnt aspect of the cachapa made the flavor less enjoyable and made me question if I go back, which is a bummer because I love to see Venezuelan food in SF!

I really wanted to enjoy the food here because a few of my friends mentioned how delicious it was. I was really underwhelmed and disappointed. The lack of flavor and the price point doesn't justify going back to this place. The service was so so as well.
Great service but a little steep. Second visit: Drove 45 to the city to pick up my CENA NAVIDEÑA (Christmas Eve's Dinner) which was confirmed 2 days before and the person in charge said that the kitchen never got the order. She called the manager but said there was nothing she could do. This is not the way to do business in this country. Not even an apology from the person who took and confirmed the order on IG.

I do not normally write reviews but this time I was kinda surprised of this situation. I asked for my receipt and checked everything 18% gratuity was charged, and no one told us about this, me and my friends regularly tip over 20% no matter what, cus we work in the industry, but when I asked if tip was included, the server told us that was already added “service” and told us that “TIP” was optional and could be cash, so on top of the 18% already charged we were suggested to leave more TIPS in CASH. We definitely not coming back Cus we always go to this place and we never ask for our receipt and on top of that we always leave cash on the whole amount without checking We did not know about this Gladly we asked for the receipt Imagine since our first visit we tipped 40% With both TIPS, the one already charged and cash after paying with card
The service was really bad. Although they were friendly, they never brought me a napkin or utensils. My "vegan" arepa, which they confirmed on delivery, was topped with cheese. The prices also seem a bit steep for the amount of food you get.
