You wouldn't expect it but this little place packs a punch in flavor. The staff was kind and very time efficient. Everything came out quickly, hot and delicious. The fried chicken is a must! It was perfectly crispy and you can choose from tangy, spicy or garlic flavor. I also ordered the flavored soju slush, it was amazing!
Korean food around downtown SF/Union Square that’s open late night! If you’re out downtown and the clubs close and you want to eat or drink more this is your spot. If you’re staying at a hotel in Union Square and want to DoorDash or Uber eats food this is also your spot! I love me some traditional korean food, we tried to come here one night after going out but the wait was too long. A separate night we stayed at a hotel nearby and ordered food. Go tos are the tofu soup (soondubu), Korean fried chicken - soy garlic and spicy, corn cheese, and kimchi pancake. The food is so good that we also even ate our leftovers cold! It’s a small little restaurant with some street parking, busy during the day!
I knew exactly what I wanted as I walked in. I smelled the Bibimbop and my tummy was already smiling. the service was great! and the food was delicious! our 3 year old approved the Chicken Cutlets with their special sauce! we're definitely coming back the next time we're in town!
Has to be THE BEST Korean food I’ve had to date! As you walk in, I’ll be honest the looks might not seem like much. But what they may lack in atmosphere they surpass by leaps and bounds with their flavors and quality! I don’t think words can actually describe the feeling I got when I took the first bite of my main dish, Fire Spicy Chicken, as well as the small dishes we ordered. And the portion sizes were quite large and well worth the prices listed on the menu, I didn’t leave hungry by any means. Everything was fantastic and the service was quick but not overbearing. Can’t wait to go back!
This place blew me away, I came for the first time looking for a late night place to eat. I came here based on the extensive reviews and videos for late night eats in SFO. There was a bit of a wait, nothing to crazy, it’s a cute little space. The bbq short ribs are honestly to die for, I was so SO impressed. They are marinated amazing and cooked over the fire, they are so tender with an amazing char on them. We got a sizzling plate half bbq ribs, and the bulgogi beef (which was also amazing). The tofu soup was so hearty, flavourful, and warm. I ate it over rice and got the beef one. The gyoza were good, nothing special, but still good. The reviews are all accurate about this place, service was amazing and the food came out fast. Will be back next time I visit SFO.
The space is a little bit cramped, small and outdated, but the food is really good. Surprised by the corn cheese appetizer, definitely recommend! The steak dish was a little too greasy for my taste. The soy and garlic fried chicken was very tender and good. Price is medium for San Francisco.
Recommend by a kind but inexperienced bartender nearby who told me it was quite popular. Somehow we hit Cocobang when there were a couple large Korean families dining and just a few of us tourists. Seated immediately, served quickly. Short ribs and kimchi pancake were perfect. Long line of tourists as we left. Highly recommended
Excellent Korean option! We love the service, food and cose time. You can go until 2:00 AM. Nice option, good price if you arrive late to SFO!
Really tasty food. The spicy shortrib is crazy good. Chicken is not bad. Japchae is for a small toddler.
Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Place is small, three booth and about five 2 seat tables. Kiosk waiting list when it gets busy.
This was our 2nd dinner of the night. We had the chicken wings with green onion and the seafood pancake with makgeoli and beer. Fun spot for late night food during a bar hop!
Delicious food, amazing atmosphere and great service. Highly recommend. The food was sweet and spicy and savory just made you happy to be there and experience what Korean food can offer to your tastebuds.
Coco Bang might not look super fancy from the outside, but don’t let that fool you. This place is awesome! As soon as we walked in, the staff was super friendly and made us feel welcome. The vibe inside is really cool and relaxed. It’s a great place to hang out and enjoy a meal with friends or family. We ordered six different dishes and shared them family-style. Every single one was delicious! The flavors were amazing, and you can tell the food is made with care. It’s hard to find a place where everything you try tastes this good. If you’re looking for great Korean food and a fun atmosphere, Coco Bang is the place to go. We had a great time and can’t wait to come back!
We were hungry after a day of baseball and sight seeing ans I was craving hotpot. So we found this cute little place. The wait was about a 20 minute wait. The wait staff was super friendly. We had the army soup and the kimchi fried rice. It was so delicious. Would def. War here again.
Great Korean Chicken, and nice complimentary Kimchi. The place is small & fills up fast.
Probably the best fried chicken entry I’ve ever had in my life. Without a doubt top 3. Me and my friend visited and wanted to come back for lunch and dinner the next day too. Cozy, small and fast
I've been in this restaurant on my first night in San Francisco because it was close to the hotel where I was staying. The place is very small so I had to put my name in the waiting list in the tablet at the entrance and then wait some time to get a table. We had Spicy Pork BBQ and Chicken Bulgogi as main courses, they both were very good. We also had some Mango Soju, a typical Korean alcoholic drink, to which I got addicted :) Prices are quite low to be in San Francisco. Overall a nice place to have dinner.
Pretty solid overall, the frozen soju cocktails were really tasty
We have been looking for good Korea. Food in the city for a while and finally found at least 1 good place. We had the fire chicken rice cake and the chicken wings. Both items were perfect. Went on a Friday evening and there was about a 30 min wait at 7 since it is a small place. The service was very fast and the servers were nice and friendly.

I’ve been here like 15 times already; it’s pretty good. Chicken is always fire and ordering the full is pretty incredible value for the money. Tangy sauce is the best IMO. There is usually a bit of a wait to get in though

Loved this Korean. We have the fried chicken, beef bulgogi/spiced pork combo and beef ribs. All excellent. We lived the vibe of the place. Service was top notch. Very popular because people were waiting outside for people to leave

Not only was the food both my girlfriend and I got delicious but Min and the other guy working were awesome. Even though they were unbelievably busy all night they handled everything with grace and were fast to help out. I got the short rib bbq and it tastes like they marinated it for a long time. The meat was tender too! Both the chefs and guys up front are awesome.
A go-to reliable spot open late night, with amazing chicken cutlet and not a bad item on the menu. The prices are very reasonable and portions are a good size, I over-order most of the time. The staff are very attentive and straight to the point and this place doesn't miss. Just expect a wait on busy nights but the waitlist goes by faster than expected!
Fantastic! I am 55 and my husband and I love to travel. We have visited SF many times, but this was our visit to CoCoBang. Really excellent Korean barbecue. The fried chicken is on point, but the spicy pork was straight fire. I encourage you to go. The atmosphere is not fancy but it is safe. Very casual and open late. The staff hustles and they do an excellent job at quick turnover without making patrons feel rushed. Put your name on the waitlist before you arrive for shorter line time. By far, our favorite eats in SF.

the soondubu jjigae and corn cheese were good ! the fire spicy chicken w/ cheese was okay.. not as good as i was expecting. atmosphere here was great ! they were playing some older k-pop songs and the restaurant is kinda small so it felt pretty cozy. something to note is that we couldn't join the wait-list ahead of time (only on the tablet near the front doors). it was like a half an hour wait to get seated plus probably another half hour for the food to reach the table because it was kinda late so they were slammed with delivery orders.
This place will get ya full! It’s got huge portions of chicken, the short ribs, the spicy short ribs and Kim chee fried rice will get you right! Add a Kim chee pancake if you’re greedy. Anyway every thing is good here. Add soju and beer for a good night coma. You get seated and get those forks to work. Staff is great too.
We might have ordered the wrong dishes, however the food we had was not very good. The fried chicken was almost tasteless but the French fries were salty we couldn’t go so them. They costs 11 USD btw. The seafood ramen was just a cheap instant ramen with some clams, that’s it.
This is my second time eating here and it did not disappoint. It’s a cool & comfy city vibe. They’re really efficient on service too so your food comes out right away after you order. We did find the Army soup salty, and that’s probably because of all the pork that’s in there…they don’t skimp on the meat. You can’t go wrong with the kimchi pancake, tofu soup, fried chicken, and the beef kalbi (I like the spicy over the original). I just wish they served a plethora of banchan with the main dishes. That would seal the deal here!
Super tasty late night dinner place! No reservation so we waited around 30 minutes to get a table. Service and atmosphere was okay, very busy vibes around the time we ate (8PM). Food was so delicious and filling for the price! The corn cheese was so good and cheesy, it went well with everything. The kimchi fried rice was also delicious and all the ingredients came together perfectly. The BBQ combo is the best deal for the price and the meat was flavorful and tender, with an extra bowl of white rice to go with it. I would recommend ordering any of these items because they were all so tasty! We still had leftovers too. Overall, I would definitely recommend coming here for a cheap, tasty, late night dinner. I do wish there was some dessert on the menu though!
This spot has quietly become a bit of a San Francisco favourite. The service is brisk but polite, and the food is great value—solid, well-made Asian dishes served late into the night. Perfect if you’ve had a few drinks and need something spicy and satisfying (and yes, some of it is very spicy, so proceed with caution). The lighting is a bit harsh for my taste, but the lively, eclectic crowd more than makes up for it. Expect a mix of locals, late-night wanderers, and beer-fuelled diners. A fun, dependable option when most other kitchens are closed.

I tried the tofu soup with seafood. The quality was a bit disappointing. The seafood was almost invisible. All I found was a couple of super small shrimps and two small pieces of chopped squid tentacles (half inch?). The side dishes also tasted bland. The floor was a little wet for some reason.
Flavourful and spciy octopus with somen, a good blend of spiciness with somen. it will be better if there is half portion more of the noodles to go with the spicy sauce. I like that the chicken dossnt smell although i prefer savoury than sweet sauce. The salad is fresh and a generous portion that go well with the wings.
Good service but do expect to wait because there are very limited seating. The corn cheese was good but other food we ordered was bad. The chicken was too big that it’s not flavorful but just dry pieces of chicken breast. The spicy rice cake was okay but on the dry side as well. The seating is so closed to each other that it makes us feel like we sharing with the table next to us. You can see through the kitchen and it’s not really clean

I ordered seafood tofu soup to go. Takeout container was little over half full (I’ve never seen that before). And you get two banchans (side dishes) and a lot of rice. I’m visiting from out of town, so I’m not sure if this is on par for the Korean food in this area but I went out of my way because this place had good reviews. Taste-wise, it was just okay. San Francisco, Raise Your Standards 💀

First and last time ordering from this place. Instead of the traditional Korean side dishes (banchan), they just piled on a massive amount of plain rice , which felt cheap and careless. The tofu soup was bland and disappointing. If you run a Korean restaurant, at least respect the basics of the cuisine. Sadly, this place doesn’t. Plenty of better Korean spots in San Francisco.
It’s a big scam how they bring out the receipt to pay card first without mentioning that it is the Card receipt that’s 10% fee to use, customers don’t realize that’s the card receipt and they don’t provide a cash receipt because the cash receipt is 10% less. So customers who pay cash end up paying the 10% fee without even noticing and prolly tip extra on top. So for a long time I’ve been paying the 10% card fee even tho I payed cash and the employees never say anything anything and end up pocketing the 10%. What a scam and they’re lucky they’re not getting sued for this!.
Do not order fried chicken for delivery or takeout!! We ordered the fried chicken and they don’t package the food well at all. No ventilation or foil in the takeout container so the chicken is a soggy mess. They also package the mayo salad and the green onion kimchi all in the same container with the chicken so everything is just squished together into a giant blob Totally disappointing as we’ve enjoyed their chicken in person before (the salad is so yummy when it’s not squished under the chicken!) but takeout/delivery is a huge no
