Opinions de Ebisu San Francisco
Charming mom and Pop place with good prices. We couldn’t believe how big the wraps were and they were absolutely delicious. Like I was in SHOCK! First wrap I really liked since moving to SF. We got the deluxe wraps, chicken and beef. Both were great. You can tell they take the time to do things right and they even make sure to grill the outside of the wraps. And we loved the french fries and eggplant inside of it! What a fun touch.
Great, fresh food, lovely folks working hard and a cute garden seating area! The cook whipped up our order in a flash- she was done by the time we had finished paying at the counter! The ingredients were fresh and portion sizes absolutely perfect. The person behind the counter was very nice, welcoming and professional. The garden seating area is cute, with ample chairs and tables, little plants that someone takes great care of and wind chimes in the garden next door. Everything is clean and tidy. We really liked it!
This place is walking distance away from the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. The food is great and the service excellent. I had the Mediterranean Sampler (Hummus, Falafel, Dolma, Baba Ganoush, etc.) - It was all great and I highly recommend it, especially if you've never had middle eastern food before or are looking for a vegetarian option. My husband initially ordered the beef shawarma wrap, but after it was served, and my husband asked, he was told that it was not halal. The owner was so nice that he replaced the order with chicken shawarma and would not charge us for the non-halal beef wrap.
Had the chicken shawarma plate. Huge amount of food and a great price. Every was fresh and delicious. The two guys behind the counter were very friendly and happy to serve us, I don’t know how this place isn’t slammed every night. The food is bonkers good. The falafel is amazing!!
I tried Mediterranean Plate and some bowls. All are delicious. The first time I haven't noticed a cozy backyard. It's a great place to relax! Thank you!
I’ve been coming here for over 20 years. The salad dressing is so delicious I wish they would bottle it.
Good shawarma, great hummus and baba ghanoush, healthy options available.
At this very moment, I am devouring a delightful falafel/hummus/tahini wrap from Yumma's. This is my first, but definitely not my last Yumma's meal! Oh, and in addition to their yummy food, Yumma's staff is very kind and professional.
Authentic food just like home great service awesome garden area to friendly staff
The meat here is SO GOOD! And the women who run this place are so sweet - in a world where everything is just about aesthetics this place serves up great good food without fuss. If you’re in the neighborhood support this place
Best Mediterranean food, nice customer people, nice owners. I will definitely be coming back.
Ordered pick-up and the wrap was amazing. Full of flavor, super delicious, and a lot of food. Can't wait to come back!
Love this place- we come about once a week for an easy, healthy dinner. Service is always so friendly and the food is delish. A neighborhood gem!
Super friendly service. Food is prepared fast and is pretty good for a quick meal.
This was my first time being at Ebisu. I had a really wonderful time. I was there with my family. There were five of us. We all ordered stuff and ate family style. I really wish I had taken pictures of the food because it was beautiful and the service was really fast especially for being so crowded. On a Friday night. I will go back again and take photos of my food. I will go back again!
You can't call to make a reservation here. You'll need to walk in and either be seated immediately or write your name on the list. Whatever happens as long as you get to sit down and eat at this establishment is your good fortune. I had the mackerel dinner, my son had the salmon dinner, and my partner had all types of sushi. I could barely speak because my tastebuds were too busy having a party in my mouth. Definitely worth any wait!!!
Coming from Vancouver I’ve always found the average sushi restaurant lacking for a variety of reasons, but randomly ending up at Ebisu has turned around my entire opinion. This is exactly what you want out of a casual sushi restaurant, solid food, friendly staff, and awesome atmosphere that isn’t set to over the top SF prices. This place is great.
This is by far my favourite restaurant in SF! The quality of the fish, the service, the flavour! Everything was top notch. If you can, try to be seated at the bar so you can talk directly to the chef… it adds to the experience! Expect to wait 30min before getting seated. The restaurant is packed on Friday or Saturday nights!
Date night! We tried this restaurant for the first time for dinner. They don't take reservations, so you sign up on a clipboard when you arrive. It's a small, cozy space, and we only had to wait 15 minutes on a Wednesday. Our server, Nori, was excellent. We ordered a few yummy appetizers, like seaweed salad, edamame, and shrimp tempura. The hand rolls were great, with fresh, crispy seaweed—there's nothing worse than old, chewy seaweed! We also loved the “chef's choice”, and my favorite was the Romeo/Juliet roll. The Aladdin sake was flavorful and unfiltered, just the way I like it. The team-based service was appreciated. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back!
We came here for lunch and had an excellent meal! We’ve been coming here for over a decade, and the quality and consistency has stood the test of time. We ordered the warm sake, shrimp tempura roll, spider roll, 49er roll, double hamachi roll, rainbow roll, salmon sashimi, salmon special, chirashi, mochi ice cream, and green tea ice cream. Everything was delicious, and we will definitely continue coming back when we’re back in San Francisco!
Amazing sushi! All the fish was so fresh and prepared perfectly. We had a Dragon roll, Rainbow roll, and the deluxe combination of chef's choice nigiri, as well as the lemon garlic edamame and miso soup. Everything was delightful; even smaller details like the pickled ginger and miso soup were so fragrant and delicate. The edamame was slightly blistered and lightly tossed in lemon juice and garlic for a perfect bite. The sake flight was a lovely pairing with the fish and it was the perfect meal.
It's a truly Japanese place with delicious and fresh food. I prefer a healthy lifestyle, and this restaurant offers exactly that. I sat at the bar and talked with the chefs about the food, observing their excellent work full of love. The Asari Miso Soup, Salmon Teriyaki and Saba Shioyaki were as tasty as traditional Japanese green tea. The staff were also very polite and kind 💝
What an amazing meal!! A couple of weeks ago I had the best omakase dining experience of my life at Ebisu and I have eaten at restaurants all over the world. Thank you Eric and the entire team! Go there and tell Eric what you're interested in and savor the moments. Unbelievable! As you can see from my bill, it was so wonderful I went crazy eating... hahaha I have one wish — that nothing ever changes!
Best sushi I've had in a while, and has one of the most beautiful interiors I have ever seen. Ordered the Dragon Roll, Rainbow Roll, Crunchy Roll, and Garlic Lemon Edamame, and they were all incredibly delicious and were priced right for their quality. The delicious food paired with its fabulous interior and efficient service will be bringing me back again very soon.
Look how generous the cuts are! Honestly the best sushi I’ve ever had in all of California and possibly America. The quality is always consistent and delicious. I’ve seen the same people go here multiple times…myself included. I would recommend sitting at the bar for the full experience. It’s a very lively place with fish, sake, and beer always flowing.
Long line to get in during dinner time. Food is great. Especially like the Omakase. $45 for 18 pieces (6 different kinds, 3 pieces for each). But each piece is very small and thin. Given the price of $45, it is still good. You can try different fishes in one order. Lobster dynamite is something I do not see in other Japanese restaurants. Worth to try. But I think the lobster was overcooked.
Second time coming here. The staff are so nice and very attentive! You can tell they have all been working together for quite some time with their friendly banter. Regarding the food, it is so affordable for the amount of food you get. It's $25 for a 15 piece sashimi platter. The grilled hamachi collar was a standout. Will continue to come whenever I'm in SF!
Lamb is great, but the tri-tip is very tough.
We got our Lamb & Chicken Kebab plates to go, salad with fresh, hummus and seasoned rice. Very flavorful. Best falafel we have had in a long time!! Will definitely be back again to try more dishes.
First when I come in they put me at the darkest corner in the restaurant and I asked to move to another table. Second, no one ask for what I want to drink after 5 minutes I sat down. (For some reason all the staff including the chef were focusing on one specific table may be VIP I guess) Should have more options on Omakase, I don't mind to pay more. But if I ordered Omakase with only regular Salmon, Tuna, Albacore, Ikura and MASAGO without even 1 piece of UNI or Scallop why would I order deluxe sushi or Omakase. Ankimo, first time ever with no sauce and I had to ask for ponzu sauce on the side . Conclusion, way overrated for their stars. 去之前期望太高👀 食完之後食物和服務水準比預期差太遠!😔😔😔
The lady taking our order was very kind. The hummus was nice, everything else in my plate was pretty average. I didn’t even finish my food sadly. Also the counter was like kinda sticky haha
Got delivery. Food was ok. Prices were great for the area, not sure who is complaining on here about that. Sampler plate was solid. Salads decent but nothing special. Chicken schwarma was the worst I've ever had. Dried out, hard and bland. Clearly had been sitting out warming for who knows how long. Probably won't get it again, there is better Mediterranean in the neighborhood.
Food's pretty meh. Quite cold. Lady at the reception was nice. Would not recommend for the price though.
My husband and I recently visited this sushi restaurant for the first time. The food itself was indeed delicious, but unfortunately the service experience left us disappointed. It seems like the restaurant mainly caters to their regular customers. As first-time guests, we felt unwelcome from the very beginning. The hostess at the entrance had an unfriendly expression and treated us with little attention, almost as if she didn’t want to bother with us. Even the sushi chef’s attitude toward us was noticeably different compared to how warmly he interacted with the regular customers sitting at the table next to us. While the food was good, the lack of hospitality made the overall experience uncomfortable. Great service should extend to every guest, not just the familiar ones. This was our first and also our last visit to this restaurant.
We decided to try this place. From the moment we walked in until we left a woman who maybe owned or managed the place was talking very loud on the phone non stop . The poor server rushed our food that was heavily fried and not fresh out and kept disappearing. The falafel plate had 4 very stale heavily fried falafel on a bed of mayonnaise soaked cabbage . The server was very sweet but the food, ambiance, rudeness of the manager/owner was awful.
