Great Mexican food, this place used to be my favorite taqueria called taqueria menudo but they went out of business and el gran taco loco took it's place, the layout is nicer and love the feel of the overall restaurant, only problem is probably the amount of noise that the walls can amplify the space

Vegetarian burritos from this place have been our staple food for months (before the pandemic). The staff are friendly, they other salsas are pretty good, they're open late, and the dessert flan is delicious!

Let's start with the quality of the food, excellent, presentation,10/10 I don't like burritos but I once tried this place and was fascinated, now I am a fan of the Gran taco loco burritos, bomb the chips so good , the sauces, everything is very delicious 🤤 the desserts my god everything was perfect. BEST Mojarra Frita in the game. Consistently delicious, seasoned, fresh fish. I get it delivered and they have never let me down. Fantastic local spot in the Excelsior, on Mission Street. They have 4 different salsas and I recommend trying each one out to find your favorite. So much comes in the order, plus chips and fresh tortillas.

I was looking for a late-night spot for tacos 🌮 , and wanted to try some place new in the Excelsior district. I usually go to El Faralito, and that's usually a good choice. After reading a couple of reviews on this place, I decided to go here. Regular tacos are $3.95 each (prices have gone up everywhere), and super tacos (+guac, sour cream, cheese) are $5.75. The regular burritos 🌯 are around $12.50. I didn't want to eat too much, so I decided on the regular tacos; Carnitas and al pastor. Comes with small amount of chips & salsas. The tacos were tasty 😋! Of the two, I prefer the al pastor. I'm impressed with the food, and fast service. I will go back to try their plate or burrito.

I ordered a super chicken burrito here today, I was pleasantly surprised that there was almost no fat on the chicken, it was pollo asado. Definitely not a dry burrito either, although I wish I would have remembered to tell them not to put pico de gallo, but that was my fault, I would prefer cilantro and savoya without the tomato. The taste was better than I expected, I would give them a five but I will give the food a four because I did not like the chips at all, very good food, very nice people working here, the atmosphere is decent too. I'm very pleased overall with the food, however, I still put La Altena at number one, a slight edge with the food, but both are very very good.

so, I ordered this on DoorDash. I got two quesabirria tacos and a super taco. can I just say that this place changed my life? This was literally the best birra Taco that I’ve had in San Francisco, and that I’ve had in a long time. The consomé was so good and flavorful. I wish I took pictures, but I was being a big back and the food is gone 😭 try this place ASAP!

Really delicious food especially worth the price for taco Tuesdays and the employees are really nice. Giving it 4 instead of 5 because it takes a LONG time to get your tacos but well worth it in the end!! They also have a great salsa/toppings selection.

I don't get out to this part of SF very often, but when I do, I stop at El Gran Taco Loco. Their Gran Loco Taco, with fried and fresh corn tortilla is excellent. Queso Barilla....Al Pastor......tortas.....there is a lot of good Mexican food in the SF Bay Area, and El Gran Taco Loco is in that league.

That put me in a good mood. My taco salad $18.20 was small. I was still hungry when I left. It felt unbalanced with a lot of sour cream. It needed more lettuce and tomatoes and less beans and rice. It comes with a small side of chips. The salsa was already presorted into small cups by the water dispenser. I didn't see an actual salsa station. Service was fine for a pay at the cashier when you order type of restaurant.

Ok so there's better places, whatever. Taco Tuesday and Thursday is a winner! You can get like 6 tacos with some extra chips for under 20 bucks, leaves a couple singles for the tip jar.

Burritos ordered were mediocre. With so many other taquerias around, this is one that I would not come to for a burrito. Their tacos, on the other hand, were excellent! Was hoping to come for happy hour to try out all the various meats they have to offer, but their regular price for the tacos was still reasonable. Will return for the tacos and maybe give their taco salad or super nacho fries a try the next time!

They didnt have a taco Tuesday special and the taste was okay. The carne asada burrito was small and tacos were okay, not much flavor for carnitas. Wish they had birria available as a meat choice. Hard to say I'd come back as there's so much other taquerias around.

It's not the old EGTL that I knew from years back. The chips sucked and the salsa was meh... I won't be back...

Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The prices have gone up significantly. It was good, but 2 thin burritos at $15 a pop was ridiculous. I had a carnitas super burrito, and my daughter had a Carne Asada one ($1 upcharge for beef). $30 for 2 burritos in the Excelsior and on Mission St. It doesn't hold up to other places. This is probably the last time we will order here. I am bummed about that.

This place is out of control. They charge so much more for food and then add 3.99 percent on each menus item that is on top of the normal charge. For 4 items , I paid 46 dollars at a taco joint in the mission with flies hovering all around. San Fran has lost it. Will never come here again.

Food was just ok. They visited our neighborhood during Covid which was great, however our order was missing items when we got home (guac and rice/beans), and our burritos did not have any sour cream as advertised, so it was basically just a whole lot of rice and beans with a little meat - pretty bland overall.

Came in to order some food but post maid drivers think they could just cut you off and make you wait another 10 minutes cause they don't know how to use their smart phone. Ordered a chicken burrito which was on Thursday special at 6.99 but paid over $12.00 for it. I won't come here again!!

Kind of disappointed. I do not know if it’s because I ordered off of Postmates that the food quality wasn’t good. It was my first time ordering from this restaurant in which I ordered a Chile relleno plate and a carnitas taco. The plate consisted of cold hard rice, soggy lettuce topped with very dark avocado, and a Chile relleno that was supposed to be filled with cheese, but instead had some white liquid inside. I know it wasn’t cheese, because there was a very small strip of cheese melted on top of the Chile. I received chips, but unfortunately they were stale. I will say that their carnitas taco was good, was a decent size, and had a lot of meat. If I were to order again I’d probably stick to their tacos. Unless, I decided to dine in.

let me start off by saying that compared to the other taquerias that are walking distances away , this is by far the worst one. their prices in itself are expensive let alone an additional surcharge for beef. the portions on the other hand to the price paid is simply not worth it. too thin of a burrito, carne asada was bland and the fries were mediocre. the staff was friendly, however when I purchased a drink I asked if there was refill. she said yes, so as someone who wants to get their money's worth , I went ahead and got 2 refills. on my way to refill for a third time, she runs over to me explaining on how I can only refill twice but not anymore than that. you could've said that from the beginning rather than assume that I wasn't going to refill more than twice. other than that , it was an okay experience, I see why this taqueria has less customers than it's competitors . not coming back again.

Twice now in a row I placed an order through 2 Good 2 Go, was charged, only to arrive and receive no food. Not the end of the world, things happen but the rudeness that followed is unacceptable. Blowing me off after charging me and not holding up their end is unprofessional.

Food is decent, closest thing to real mexican food thus far. At first customer service was good. However these past couple of visits I wasnt treated well. This place would be 4 stars with better customer service. Past couple of visits i was treated with attitude and not as a valued customer. The made mistakes on my order and said they would not change it free of charge, that i had to buy it all over again, a whole other order for a mistake they made. Which is ridiculous I might say. As well as some of the workers saying things about customers not knowing i myself speak spanish and am mexican.overall the atmosphere of this place has changed. And i would no longer recommend it to others.

This place don't respect their customer's time. We ordered around 6:30pm. Waited 2 hrs before they actually contacted us that they will be canceling our order. 2 hrs is too long to figure out that you guys won't do it. We try to support local businesses but you have to do your damn part as well! I won't be surprised if you close down!

Ordered a burrito bowl with no rice…came with rice, asked them if they could fix it, and they just told me to scoop it off. Was literally 50%+ rice. Food itself was mediocre especially for price.

I really dont like there food i was not what i expected. I woul have rather hit up taco bell or go to my favorite spot in San Bruno. I asked & paid for cheese & didn't get it. Plus the tacos are almost $3. & they are full of not seasoned well meat. I ate one taco & had enough. I usually eat at least 5 tacos at a good place. I dont see myself going back there again. I've tried it 5 times so far & there not any better. I did like the chips they give you with your meal.

I bought food from the “el grant taco loco” food truck which was parked at the Outlets in Livermore on February 16, 2019. The lady cashier inside the food truck looked very sick coughing and sneezing. Nevertheless, the guy who prepared our burritos used his bare naked hands to scoop the rice and other ingredients in our burritos. We were shocked! The cashier sneezed and without cleaning her hands she handed me my coke can. I called the manager, Raul or Saul, to complain and he was very unapologetic. He did not say that he will recommend his employees to call sick when they are sick and he did not say that he will talk to his cook to use gloves or a spoon to prepare the food in the food truck. He asked me why I did not complain at that moment and he told me that there is nothing he can do! WOW! he did not seem to be a manager at all, very unprofessional and naive. I was expecting him to at least apologize for my experience and I was expecting him to tell me that he will talk to his employees about using the proper ways to operate since they handle food. Very very disappointed. A day later I woke up with fever, scratchy throat and sneezing. I was forced to call sick from work. You cannot make people sick! I am very very mad. The truck had a Contra Costa County health services green paper pass but they were operating in Alameda County. If I could give 0 starts I would have done that.

***NOT COVID-19 COMPLIANT*** Have been eating here for the past year or so. Happened to phone in for a takeaway order and was waiting for the folks in front of me to finish ordering so I could pick up my (awesome) burrito. Thats when I notice that someone walked out of the kitchen without a mask. Took a stroll of the restaurant and then realized that a mask was indeed a good idea. While walking out, I noticed that the folks ordering didn't have a mask on either. Did not hesitate leaving a place without my comfort food. I wish the owners actually did something about this!

I order a carne asada plate , but the carne asada is not carne asada. It is cheap steak that been boiled to be tender. Which gives it the texter, and taste of canned meat. Stay far away from all taquerias that do this. The reason they all go down hill is because you all tolerate it.

I miss the Taco Loco that burned down on 29th & mission. This is the second time here,1st in evening & 2nd in the morning, again. Tacos & burritos was dry and burned also salsa had no taste. The chips was the only thing good. Sorry but No Bueno.

If can rate a zero I would so they got lucky with a one star . First off my order was all messed up . I got like five chips in my bag . They put more rice than anything . I asked for no guacamole and lettuce and all I got was rice beans and sour cream. My fiancé burrito had ham instead of bacon which he asked for and mostly rice . I don't recommend them at all. You want great burritos go to el farritos.

No flavor in the meat. Charged extra for carne asada. Charged an extra fee for using a credit card but no sign was posted of any additional fee $2.40 for a can of soda. Are you kidding me? Totally got ripped off. Unacceptable! Never ever going here again. Avoid this place at all costs not worth a penny.

I asked for steak fries to go. One of the cashiers had a very bad attitude with me and instead of working, she was just watching tv and then when I open my food there was a lot of extra cream. I had to take a lot of it out... Very disappointed.

This was the first and last time i will order from here. I was craving a torta so i saw the picture they have of their tortas and i decided to take a chance. But man it was the worst decision. The carne Asada was bland it had no taste! And to top it off I got sick after eating the torta. I was throwing up and I had a bad stomach ache!
