There is no better pizza in Glenn area than Gialina... Truly amazing! How they keep the quality consistent is a mystery. I always order the same pizza and it always tastes as exquisite as the previous. The wines are also great... Highly recommended
Great place for fresh, seasonal food. All of their pizzas are great, and you can customize them any way you want (ask you waiter what they like, or how they would modify a pizza). I also love their salads and the burrata. It can get busy during dinner time, and is filled with families around 6:00pm. Definitely worth going to if you are looking for a sit-down restaurant in Glen Park.
Loved it. Im Celiac so the Gluten free option was great. Super GF crust. Artisan quality toppings. Great IPA in stock. Service by Nick was fantastic.
One of my favorite comfort restaurants in the city. Delicious salads and roasts on top of seasonal pies. Had roasted corn last night and it was delicious. Leave room for Tiramisu. Family friendly, close to mass transit (also fairly easy to park). Plus size friendly seating (although the tables are tightly packed)
Light and crispy crust, fresh mozzarella, Phenomenal polenta with meatballs. Staff is super helpful with good vibes. Food was out extremely fast. Decor/aesthetic is minimal and clean.
Excellent on all fronts! It’s a tiny place so I do recommend calling ahead to see if they’re busy or just hanging out front if you’re willing to wait. Their diavola pizza is to die for!
We love Gialina, and not just because it's our neighborhood pizza place. The pizza is excellent, although definitely much better for dine-in than take-out. Freshness is key. All the pizzas are fantastic and we appreciate that the menu changes with the seasons.
Amazing pizza, lovely service! Felt so cozy.
Great local place for amazingly flavored food. I stumbled in and have passed this place multiple times. It always seems to be busy and today was a slower Monday night so I went in with my cousin. Service was fast, food was delicious and I left happy. We got the pizza with mushrooms it began with an A. The pizza was big, savory and had some delicious spice in the sauce that I can't identify. The meatballs reminded me of an old family recipe that my family shares. It was great. Definitely try this place for good food. I can't wait for my next visit!
Wow this place is fantastic! I'd admit that I'm not a huge fan of pizza (I know right), but this place was GOOD. I came here with a friend on a week night for a late dinner. We ordered the Portobello Mushroom pizza (pie) to share and it was so delicious! I absolutely loved the crust. It was crispy, crunchy, whatever way you want to describe it. The pizza itself was thin, which I like. The toppings worked really well together along with the farm egg we had added on. I don't always eat pizza, but when I do, they make me wonder why I'm not a pizza person. Overall, I highly recommend this place! It's a cute, small, but cozy restaurant. It offers a great variety of small tapas, pizza, dessert, and alcohol. Price is fair and staff are great! Come and get your pizza craving fulfilled!
Very happy with my pizza. The four cheese is delicious and strong. If you like it mild ask for no gorgonzola. Perfect with a farm egg on top for a little extra protein. Gluten-free crust was good and browned just right - not as good a wheat crust but you already knew that. Staff were friendly and sanitized hands before pulling my pizza box out of a keep-warm bag. Next time I’ll show up a little earlier than the suggested time to get it fresh out of the oven. No delivery but pick up was easy and there’s always parking just past Canyon Market on Wilder St.
The Atomica (with an egg on top) is easily my favorite pizza in the city. Been to this place a dozen times, always ordered the same thing, delicious every time. Every friend we've taken there had the same reaction, but nobody knew about it before. A true hidden gem.
My favorite pizza place of all time ❤️ the nutella pizza is baller
The chicken was delicious and moist with crispy skin and all the flavors went together perfectly. I don't even usually like broccolini but this was so good. We also got a mushroom pizza which was great, thin crispy crust and so flavorful.
Have been coming here for years. When we started coming here, we’d put our name in for a table then head to GPS for a pint while we waited. They would come get us sometimes before we finished our pints. The pizzas are unique and delicious. We usually get the Italian sausage and the potato pizzas. And you can’t eat here without having the dessert pizza. I don’t write the rules, I just follow them.
What a great place for dinner. Don't let the relaxed atmosphere fool you, Gialina has legit fancy pizza. I think we go a few times a week for our fix of their thin crust greatness. Everything is fresh, everything is tasty, and the staff is great. What a great neighborhood option!
Outstanding. Always great pizza. Great atmosphere and a generally capable and kind staff. There are so many great options for Piazza, but also for salads and other things. I would like to see the prices of he toppings be a bit less intense, but honestly I just order from their menu and enjoy what I get ever time. Really a lovely spot I have frequented over the years.
Service was a bit aloof and wine was not great but the pizzas are excellent and huge. So good that we had to get one each.
A charming old-school spot with real people and beautiful pizza. You can feel the pride of the employees there—some over 17 years there (I asked)! We tried four pizzas, and each was delicious, thanks to the perfectly thin, toasty crust. The slices light and crisp where you could hold them easily in your hand. Then came the grand finale: the Nutella pizza for dessert—an absolute treat (I would have liked it as thin as the other pizza). To top it off, the house Italian red wine was the perfect match—light enough to complement the meal. You gotta check out htis place. Nicky, thank you for all the advise on what to order.
Gialini is known for its gourmet, thin-crust, Neapolitan-style pizza pies. The farm-fresh, seasonal ingredients are served by personable staff in this cozy but small location.
Gialina is a small family run restaurant where impossibly thin but sturdy pizza can be found. My father in law recommended them to us and while I can’t say anything for the pasta because we haven’t tried it, every pizza we’ve had has been incredible. From constant standbys to more creative fare (we had a peach pizza most recently)- it is all great. We’ve also enjoyed the vast majority of salads and appetizers. The only item I wouldn’t have again is the meatballs - they weren’t bad but I’ve just had better elsewhere. Excited to have more pizza of theirs soon.
It was Tuesday night and several friends went into San Francisco for our monthly Book Club meeting and we decided to stop into Gialina for dinner and drinks before our meeting. This spot was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. It’s a tiny place that feels like a true San Francisco neighborhood eatery and we were made to feel like locals the moment we arrived. The food is excellent, the service is excellent and it was a great evening for all of us. I had the Margherita pizza because so many other options had onions for some reason, though my buddies were inexplicably ok with onions on their pizza. We skipped dessert in an effort to not get fat but next time I’ll give the dessert options a try. Michael Delehanty Compass Real Estate
Overall I loved the vegetarian options. For starters I recommend the burrata. I tried the sauteed padron peppers too, they were good but the spiciness of the peppers varied a lot so the taste wasn't uniform. For pies, I tried the mushroom, Ms figgy (requested without meat), atomica and 4 cheese. I found Ms figgy distinct in that it is sweet in taste and has fig on a pizza but I actually liked it. The mushroom was my next favourite. For dessert, I recommend the tiramisu.
What a spot. Great place to catch up with a friend during the week. The salad was such a pleasant surprise. Very creamy and savory Caesar salad. The staff were super friendly not rushing us at all when we were done eating and very receptive to questions on which is the best pizza to pick. The potatoe pizza is a sleeper! Will def be coming back.
I love artisanal pizza and this place did NOT disappoint! I thoroughly recommend the Picnic starter to get a great sampling of the various meats. Looking at pictures on Yelp really solidified our choice to go, but didn't show any views of the inside... So I took a departing pic that gives a blurred sense. It's about 15' - 18' wide with two rows of tables. It's tight but not uncomfortable. Parking was a little tricky and the building had no visible signage. Highly recommend for the adventurous palette!
May 2018: Salads are always excellent. Tastes like they always use the freshest ingredients. 🍕 still super tasty. July 2017: Delicious 🍕 at this local restaurant.

Such great pizza and small town vibes. Nettle pizza with egg was soooo good!
Sharon is awesome and the pizza was delicious. They made me a gluten, dairy free pizza. Wish I was having it right now 🤤
A sleepy neighborhood hit! Seasonal appetizers were fantastic, and the GF pizza was solid. Looking forward to coming back without GF friends to weigh in on the regular crust. A decent wine list featuring Italian wines and helpful notes.
Currently my fave restaurant anywhere (and I spent three weeks in Italy last fall). The amatriciana pizza topped with runny egg is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten… A perfect combination of flavors, and the crust is absolutely beyond. You know a pizza is truly stellar as when the crust is just as good as the toppings (and not just a vehicle for them). I also get the arugula salad which I love, a glass of awesome wine (bring back the Zinfandel!☺️), and last but absolutely not least is the tiramisu. This is the REAL DEAL: ladyfingers soaked in espresso and rum with mascarpone and chocolate. No corny cake or parfait or ice cream or some weird version that’s missing an ingredient. This is honest-to-goodness tiramisu in its pure state- as it should be, and it is absolutely exceptional. Thank you Gialina! Absolutely love it there. I see a single parent with a kid eating at a table every single time, which tells you how kid-friendly it is and what a family vibe it has. I go at least once a month, sometimes more.
Delicious pizza with a thin crispy crust. Seems to be a very popular place. We made a reservation to ensure that we got a table

Novel pizzas, great service make it a good option when in the neighborhood. Traffic can be thick especially after work and parking is hard to come by but it's very accessible by public transit.
There’s quite a wait even on weeknights. Easier to get a space at the counter though. Very happy and satisfied with the pizza here.
It's been years since I last tried Gialina and I'm so happy that it's still around, still cooking, still having the pizza oven red hot and delivers simple but consistent quality food. We had only three dishes, a Caesar salad, a cucumber salad and a pie and of course a glass of wine. I personally think that Gialina makes one of the best pizza doughs in SF. It's crunchy, super thin and perfectly balanced with the toppings. It's simple but spot on. The Caesar salad with white anchovies is delicious and gets your taste buds fire up for the pie to follow. Give it a try you won't be disappointed. Thumbs up for this place and it's crew
Good neighborhood pizza place in Glen Park. Pizza is very good and it's always busy especially during the weekends. The mushroom truffle pizza was very tasty although I don't like raw veggies (arugula) on my pizza, I just had to move the greens aside to have the slice the way I prefer. Margherita is my partner's favorite, but I am not a fan of their margherita pizza. Overall a cute neighborhood hangout pizza place. It's best to have the slices here, when you pick up "togo" they get mushy by the time you get home. Their flourless chocolate pistachio dessert was out of this world, light and very tasty!
I was very hungry So I forgot to take pictures in time. The pizzas were great: we got a BLT and an atomica with pepperoni. The tiramisu is REALLY good :)
Low key, efficient, nice Italian restaurant. Specializing in Neapolitan pizzas. Simple seasonal menu. Fresh salads, a couple of pastas, thin crust pizzas and desserts. Loved this no fuss good food place.

Tiny little artisan pizza place in San Francisco. Gluten free crusts if that is your thing. The 4 cheese pizza was good until it cooled down into a cheese cracker. They also forgot to put the hot honey on the pepperoni pizza. We had to ask for it. Next time I should try the pepperoni with hot honey on a real crust.
5 stars for the pizza. It’s very good. 2 stars for the very rude woman leaning on the counter that was clearly exasperated by patrons existing in the impossibly small storefront. Don’t offer pick up if you can’t talk to people with some sort of politeness. There are ways to tell people to politely step aside, and where to step aside to, without making them feel like you don’t want them there at all. The short, rotund woman with short gray hair needs to learn how to direct and talk to people. As much as I like their pizza I will not be frequenting Gialina again any time soon.
Solid 3 star pizza. Just unimpressed overall. I feel like the ingredients were bland. Not as good as Pizetta 211 but parking is a lot easier around here. No in-store dining, just takeout. The tiramisu was good, but not good enough to bring me back again.

Tables are back to back. You will bump your chair backrest into another guest; that is guaranteed! Nothing else notable about the sitting space… two columns of seating… so it’s “cozy”. Service was meh. We felt judged throughout our meal. Had a 2 year old with us and the servers made it feel like they were doing us favors by letting us dine there (with a reservation) Food was the most disappointing! We ordered New York New York pizza and atomic. Flavors of the toppings were good!! But the crust was extremely chewy! It felt like a home cook was making pizzas. Both our pizzas were that way. Other than the pizzas we had the peppers with goat cheese and tiramisu for apps and dessert respectively and they were decent. Not likely to recommend this place to a friend.
