Enchanting. Delicious coffee. Unique pastry selection that goes far beyond what's on offer at other cafes. Warm welcome from server. A terrific find, in my very own backyard!
Posh little coffee spot in a quiet area of the Sunset. Great place to relax or work quietly with a nice warming cup of coffee. Seating is limited, but that adds to the ambiance of the shop.
This is the best combination of boutique and cafe ever! Tucked in between a couple of buildings this steampunk-esque cafe has everything you need (except wiFi...) and I solely blame them for my addiction to Tokyo Milk perfume! I found them via +refinery29 's cute coffee shop roundup and never pass up a chance to pop in when I'm in the hood.
Compact space with the feel of a whitewashed, clean stable. Solid cappuccino and delicious banana bread---still warm, not too sweet, and with a nice crumbly (not gummy) texture.
Great spot, definitely one of my favorite coffee shops in SF. Try go on a weekday when it's not too crowded since it's a small space. (Note, they don't have WiFi)
As a new yorker this is by far comparable to favorite spots in my neighborhood, milk was perfectly steamed and espresso was not burnt or too strong. Price reflected quality and craft.
Best coffee in the Inner Sunset. Tiny place. Expect to wait up to 20 minutes since they hand make their coffees one at a time. It's worth the wait!
Fantastic tiny neighborhood coffee shop with select pastries. Tiny is the operative word, but this place is a sweet little gem serving Ritual coffee.
A super cute, neighborhood coffee bar. Top quality coffee. The homemade pastries are also amazing.
What to do when you are too early for dinner? Grab a cup of tea at a charming little coffee shop. Hollow with it's rustic chic design is definitely a charming little place. It's very hard to order a drink without a little something to nibble on from the deliciously looking pastries they have. If you had to pick something small do try the marshmallow! It's devine!!! The place is quite cozy, they have an additional room in the back with some seating and goodies! Lovely little place for a quite and intimate coffee or to sit alone with your thoughts, your books... I loved everything about Hollow!
Adorable, tiny, delicious. The pain au chocolate was a knockout, and the coffee was great. Had to carefully find my way to the back (3 steps) with my coffee for a bit of half and half, then carefully find my way out front (about 10 steps) for a seat. Very happy this is a neighborhood go-to for me!
This is one of the best independently owned coffee shops in the Inner Sunset. It's a very cute little shop with space for 6-8 in the front and an additional seating for up to 10 in the back room. I highly recommend trying one of their special lattes - either the chai or the matcha. They don't have too many food options - mainly just empanadas and a few baked goods. The coffee is excellent. They also sell some small trinkets in the back room. The owner of Hollow also owns the shop next door which sells nifty home goods.
Really sweet owner who bakes the most wonderful bread that she is trying in vain to avoid! Stop in soon! It's a gem of a place. I could sit here and write for hours on end. My day-off is Saturday and I believe I will do just that. Delicious coffee and conveniently located a block from my new home.
Cute little local coffee shop in the Sunset. The coffee is really good and they have some handmade options like vainilla latte, that are really good. They also offer pastries and empanadas, but I wouldn't go there for lunch. You can see a lot of local neighbors coming in and out to get their morning coffee.
Definitely the best coffee shop in the Inner Sunset. There's no room to sit, but if you're looking for a cup to go and maybe some yummy sweets, this is the spot! And it's really cute inside.
This is the best little coffee shop in my hood. They make one of the best lattes I've ever had. If you are heading to the Starbucks on 19th, do yourself a favor and drop by here instead. They also have a pretty good food selection. I've tried the homemade marshmallow and cinnamon biscuit. The cinnamon biscuit was divine. The savory empanadas (which, I just discovered, are from Nucha) are really good too.
It's my favorite cafe in the Inner Sunset. They make a mean Americano. It's not a place to sit and chat, more of a place you walk in and leave to stroll around the neighborhood. Inside, I feel like I'm on the set of Lord of the Rings. It's a little expensive, but they also have a great set of pastries. My favorite is the cinnamon biscuit. :) The marshmallows are great too.
This place is worth the hype, down the quiet part of irving just before you hit the "other china town" starting on 19th. This is a tiny tiny spot and there is a back room that has some additional seating. I like to get the iced coffee. There is one drink on the menu called the titanic it is the craziest sweetest drink I have ever had and it has a huge fancy marshmallow they put right in the middle of it all. $8, worth it for the gimmick, probably want to share and avoid sugar overload.
Clerks are so kind and keep smiling. This tiny cafe has its own warm atmosphere and coffee is flawless. I had a greatly comfortable time here.
Great spot to get a crafted drink and homemade pastry. If you are on a budget, super hungry, or generally an uptight person, you should probably skip Hollow and go elsewhere. But if you're rolling into the weekend and want to carry a chill vibe with you as you stroll Irving, this is the place.
Excellent espresso drinks in a delightfully minimalist space. Shout out to Roanoke for the skillful coffee and smooth music -- a perfect afternoon getaway.
Great coffee in a tiny place -- though they have a hidden back room which has more space to sit. The staff is super friendly, and the pastries are difficult to resist -- and totally worthwhile.
Adorable spot with delicious French press coffee. They take cash and cards.
Hole in the wall cafe with excellent coffee, tea, pastries, and staff. Great for a quite place with well crafted drinks.
Wonderful little place, great coffee and the pain au chocolat is as good as in France!

Hollow is a really sweet, small coffee shop. Coffee was fantastic. The latte I had was delicious. Very rustic. A little indoor seating. Super cute. Definitely check it out if you're in the neighborhood.
Absolutely stellar coffee made by a lovely family. The standard latte is my favorite, whereas my wife often treats herself to the butterscotch one. Scones are always reliable for a little sustenance.
When I want a coffee that doesn't come from my Nespresso in the house, I go here. The place is small and unassuming but there's a "back room" where it makes sense to sit and have a conversation if you're meeting someone. The coffees are spectacular, well-made, best in the neighborhood, without reservation.
Its all about the butterscotch. Remember, Sundays only right now.
Cute venue that looks like it was built in a small house. The decor is cozy yet modern. The espresso was good here, if not pretty expensive, so be prepared for a $4 tiny cappuccino or mocha. They also sell artisan chocolate (which is also pricy), but overall its worth a stop in to see the quaint little shop.
A quaint little neighborhood cafe that looks more like a secret garden in a children's storybook. The coffee is great -- smooth, creamy, without the bitterness associated strong coffee. But perhaps more important, the place also stocks a variety of garden supplies, cologne, toys, cards, and other curious objects to tickle your fancy. It's housed in a rather small space, and can ably handle the current volume of customers. But if words get around and it becomes better known, I wonder how it might cope with the growth.

This has got to be the cuttest coffee shop I have ever walked into. They have all sorts of trinkets for you to look at (or to buy) while waiting in line or for your coffee. As for the coffee itself, I got the vanilla latte, and they made it was real vanilla beans. It was absolutely delicious. I just wish that they have strained out the pod of the vanilla. That aside, I'll definitely be back. Just be prepared to wait when they are busy.
There aren't a lot of good coffee places in the sunset, and this is definitely one of the best. They can be a little slow, and sometimes too milky. But generally, they make a pretty good latte or mocha.
These guys are among the growing few who know how to get coffee right--very fresh, medium roast, microfoamed milk, not too hot. The cappuccino was just right. There is an eclectic collection of soaps and sundries, along with a short, but fresh and homemade menu of baked goods. I tried the sausage empanada which was good if not great. The sweet offering looked to be 5 star.
Cozy little shop with homemade pastries and some innovative coffees. I got a butterscotch latte, would love if it had a stronger coffee flavor. But overall good experience!
You can tell the barista has been trained in making proper espresso. He brought out subtle hints of orange, blossom, caramel, and cocoa out of his espresso. The milk was steamed perfectly. My only complaint was the wait, but that was bound to happen when your espresso tastes that good.

Cute little coffee shop in the middle of a mostly residential neighbourhood. I think it was in a converted garage. The drinks were good (I just had a standard black Americano coffee and had a taste of one of the lattes, but unfortunately I forget which one at the moment). The tables and seats by the window look fab, especially on a beautiful day. However, if they're all full don't despair - there's more seating in the back, where it's quieter and tucked away from the sun.
Cozy little hole in the wall in a surprising convenient location. It seems like it gets a little blank around here, so it’s a great spot to hang out if you’ve got something going on in the area and need to kill some time. Coffee is alright, some of the espresso drinks seem to come out a little burnt every once in a while. Not a ton of seating either...

Very cute and quaint shop! Only drawback is it’s a bit cramped (hence quaint) and the wait is a bit long. Butterscotch latte was alright... But will be willing to give this place another shot to improve.
Priciest spot in the area. Strange hours during COVID. Seems like it could be a nice place if things were open. Butterscotch latte tasted just like a regular latte. Unsure if mistake or just boring drink.
Really charming shop. Strong espresso. Decent lattes. On the pricier side. The feel of the shop is more attractive than the drinks itself. I'll return though.
I'm 6'5 and I feel a near compulsion to yell Fee Fi Fo Fum whenever my friend insists on taking me here. The employees seem very nice, but my black coffee is always watery yet gritty. I think I saw a $9 chocolate bar there once. Just way too twee for my liking. At least fix the wobbly tables in back. :|
Super small but cozy coffee shop. Has all the basic coffee drinks. Reasonable prices. The drink itself was meh. Ordered a oat milk vanilla latte. There were still espresso grounds in my latte. No bueno. Super slow too.
I really wanted to love this place (yay, small independent coffee place), but I don't think I'm the ideal customer for it. The store has a ton of personality, but it's tiny - only 2 or 3 tables. I'm usually traveling with at least one kid, possibly a stroller. I felt like the coffee there is made with a lot more care than your average coffee shop, and the cupcake was delicious, but as cute as this place is, it felt too quiet and closed in for me.
Such a cute little cafe serving up coffee and baked goods. Due to COVID, they block off the entryway and take your order from the door. There are also a couple seats right outside. I've always wanted to stop by for a drink and today I did! Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. My partner got a butterscotch latte which just tasted like a regular latte. I got the chai matcha latte and it did not taste spiced at all or much like matcha. Our size small drinks were pretty small, came out warm and quickly cooled after a short time. Lastly, the line wasn't even long but it sure moved slowly. You're better off getting your caffeine elsewhere. :/

I was not a fan of the coffee because the milk used in my cappuccino tasted like it had spoiled. My son’s vanilla bean latte with oat milk was better. The house baked banana bread was excellent but did not make up for the bad coffee. Limited bench seating in a cool, minimalistic atmosphere. Interesting, alternative music playing in the background. The service was kind of slow, but the barista seemed devoted to his craft. Too bad about the bad milk.

Took an unreasonable amount of time to get through about 7 people in line. Well over 20 minutes without exaggeration. When my girlfriend and I were next in line, I saw the barista using his fingers to wipe the inside of the portafilter and to wipe off excess grinds. Will not be returning
