Opinions de Lers Ros San Francisco
Went to Lers Ros today for my birthday with my friend and familly, the food was delicious and I even got gifted a mango sticky rice for dessert, it was great. Thank you so much for the warm welcome, it was lovely
Tried the place because of the recommendations and proximity. Neither the surroundings nor the entrance seemed impressive. Simple decor and setup inside. The crowd inside and continuous flow of the online delivery personnel does indicate its popularity. Had a papaya salad with grilled prawns as a starter followed by Spicy Green Bean Chicken and Pineapple Fried Rice. All sumptuous though the salad was a bit spicier than what we are used to. Ample portions and we had to cancel another dish based on the serving size (which they cancelled without any issue). Service was good but seemed understaffed. Overall, a fulfilling experience. Definitely value for money.
We had such a great experience at Lers Ros. Everything was perfect! We had their iced tea which was super good. Then we ordered the crab pad Thai and the chicken peanut sauce, full of flavours and great value for money. The service was also super sweet and kind. Highly recommend this place which was quiet and calm to a Sunday lunch.
Wow really great food. We ordered the five spice duck and mango trout, and both were absolutely delicious. I'm always a little skeptical about ordering duck bc sometimes it's dry, but this was succulent. Fish was perfectly fried, not too dry or thick of batter. We finished everything! Will definitely come back
The staff was very friendly (which, in my opinion, is not always the case in 3 star restaurants ) and quick. We had a crab fried rice, which was extremely good and the portion is huge. You can shared with your friend to leave you room for the desert . Every main dish here was also very tasty, here I found the portion maybe slightly too big, but since it was so good, I made an effort to eat it all. After the enjoyable meal, even though we were full, we decided to try the desert. They had durian sticky rice which so authentic, so we chose that. All in all, one of the best place better than some Thai place that got more stars on Yelp.
This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants!! Foods are on point! So delicious and can't complain. They had special sea bass dish!! It was crispy and sauce was not too sweet or overpowering. It was just perfect!! Second favorite dish was Tom yum noodles!! It's new on the menu and it is sooo tasty! Dry noodles with crispy pork belly!!
Alligator, Frog, Quail, and Boar are just some of the meat options offered at this unique and friendly family run Thai place. I ordered the Pad Ped Alligator at it's mildest which (still spicy) was absolutely excellent. There was no wait and the server was friendly with the decor clean though definitely not a place for fancy dates. I highly recommend stopping by if you are looking for something different.
Came here with a friend on a typical Monday, there was no wait and we were seated immediately. Lers Ros has been my favorite Thai restaurant in the city for awhile now, and this visit didn't disappoint. Everything was cooked prefect and the spiciness was just right. If you haven't been here, and you like Thai food, you have to come check it out. I knock a star off mainly due to its location and how difficult it is to find parking. I guess that it why it has other locations! Haha...
Quiet night for dinner. Ample portions. Asked for medium spice and was pleased that the flavor and spice were perfect. Also got a young coconut which was fun. Fried banana with pistachio ice cream for dessert. Leftovers were packed up beautifully and tasted great the next day for lunch. Sweet servers. Recommend!
Did takeout, had to get the green curry, pad see ew, red chili paste beef, and egg rolls. There was a massive delay with our order, but we aren’t sure if this can be attributed to postmates or the restaurant itself. On to the goods. The egg rolls were soggy, subpar, and more likely than not, pre-packaged. The sweet chili sauce was good though. The green curry was sublime, hitting all the right spots. It’s straddled the divide between spicy and creamy, rich but brought me back for more, kind of like the debt collectors my divorce lawyer hired. The noodles were not bland, but not awe-inspiring either. The texture was exactly what you want for pad see ew, but it didn’t kick my pants right off which is what this dish can do when prepared perfectly (but apparently what my ex wife can’t do). Overall good restaurant, would order again!
Really good Thai food, questionable area but thank goodness for delivery. Beautiful aromas and authentic flavors come from Lers Ros’s kitchen.Solid Pad Kee Mow here, spicy and flavorful. Just make sure you order no bean sprouts because they over do it. The beef jerky is great, it’s served with a nice tangy sauce. The fried rice is legit, it’s everything you want in a fried rice. Lers Ros also knows how to pork well, really well. The shoulder is good as well as their sausage and belly. The noodles soups are made well too, classic recipes done justice. Make sure to take advantage that they deliver.
A Thai restaurant that is as tame/wild as your mood calls for. There are traditional dishes found on any standard Thai menus, but you can also opt for "exotic" meats such as rabbit, venison, alligator, frog, and RAW pork! Extensive menu that will take a while to eat through. The Crab Roll Cake is a stand out: Succulent crab and pork are mixed with bits of crunchy water chestnuts that provide a wonderful contrast of flavor and texture. All that is wrapped in bean curd skin that is fried to crunchy perfection. The homemade plum sauce is unctuous and brought out the sweetness in the crab/pork. I tried the Pad See Ew - solid, but I will probably try the Pad Kee Mao next time. I look forward to visiting again to try the more unusual dishes.
Lers Ros is that place you go to for "fancy" and "hip" Thai food. I'm not saying it's not authentic, but there are better options for authentic Thai food in the area. The food turned out to be okay and service was lacking for an upscale restaurant. Servers never checked up on us and I tried to flag them down a couple of times but I guess they were too busy to notice. - Shrimp Pad Thai: More on the sweeter side so I wasn't a big fan of it. I don't like my pad thai reminding me of candy. - Garlic Frog: Tasty bits if frog meat but the portion was a little small. There were some fried pieces that was more bone than meat too. If you're feeling adventurous, feel free to try! Frog meat tastes like a combo of chicken and fish, and garlic makes everything better. - Som Tum Pu: Papaya salad with raw blue crab! I did enjoy this but the portion was also small. I wish there was more shredded papaya. There was a lot of thai eggplant, huge chunks of tomatoes, and some green beans. - Thai Ice Tea: The tea was watered down and it was also a little too sweet. - Crispy Chicken over Fried Rice: Prob my fav out of everything even if it wasn't amazing. I love rice and deep fried chicken is good, ya know? Too bad the chicken was a small piece. Overall, I don't think I'll be returning but I'm glad I tried this place out.
The way dishes were assembled was about as haphazard as I’ve ever seen. The proportions of tomatoes, carrots, and other paraphernalia across the six dishes we got would have me questioning whether I ordered a salad or the curry/fried rice/soup that I thought I had ordered. The pineapple fried rice for example had more pineapple than rice, whereas the duck curry appeared to be a mountain of tomatoes in curry sauce with a couple scattered pieces of duck buried underneath. The papaya salad with egg was heavily oversalted. The gravy noodle (rad na) was undercooked and sticky. The sole successful dish was the Thai sausage, which was some of the best I’ve had.
