Opinions de Lers Ros Thai San Francisco
Yum! Good, fresh, clean tasting Thai! I wasn't very adventurous choosing the Beef with Peanut Sauce. The beef steak was very tender! No gristle. Thumbs-up! Save some room for seasonal Mango and Sticky Rice - it's plenty to share!
I went to Lers Ros a few times and ordered takeaway a couple of times too. What I love about it is that they don't tone spices down to meet typical Western tastes. Some dishes are more accessible, like the usual Pad Thai, skewers etc, but if you go beyond that, they have dishes that really deliver a ton of flavour. I particularly like their soups.
Bustling restaurant in high demand right in the middle of concert venues in downtown San Francisco. Refined flavors of traditional Thai fare with fresh veggies. Friendly and efficient wait staff. Love it! Delicious!
Staff was so friendly and helpful. The food was great and came so quickly! I had a chicken and cashew dish and my DH had a duck curry. Very good! I always like when an ethnic restaurant has ethic staff and other people if that ethnicity go there. It makes me think this is a good choice. And it was for us!
I've been here several times as it's my go to for Thai, especially when people are coming from out of town. They have multiple locations, which is convenient. The place is usually crowded and the seating is awkward since they are just open benches and no places to put bags or coats. The food is flavorful and some items are spicy. All of the dishes on the menu are yummy though. The traditional Pad Thai is good, but the Tom Kha was too lemony and sour for our taste.
My partner and I stopped by for dinner after the symphony. The restaurant space is very comfortable, and the food is terrific. We split the thai puffs, silver noodle salad, and the green curry with rice. The silver noodle salad in particular was excellent. In total, we paid about $50 and the service was fast and friendly. I would definitely recommend stopping by for a visit.
The dish with peppercorn in it was really good and slightly spicy. I've never had it in any other Thai restaurants. The pad thai was wetter and sweeter than other Thai restaurants; may be that is the way it is in Thailand given the chef tries to be more authentic.
I always come here for the crispy pork belly. When I think Lers Ros, I think crispy pork belly. So glad they have another location, the TL location was always long waits and not the nicest waiting area. I went to this location to meet some friends for lunch, thinking I was getting crispy pork for the lunch special. Much to my chagrin. No crispy pork on the lunch special menu. Was going off script now. But everything else was great too. Basil chicken was super flavorful. And their brown rice is more like a fresh picked wild brown rice. Not your mama's brown rice. Unless she grew up in Thailand maybe. Love Lers Ros.
This restaraunt is great for standard fare Thai food , but not for an imaginative cuisine. And that’s ok ; we need comfort food that s predictable in these divisive times; I prefer their Tenderloin location for down to earth food and service
One of the Most Complete All-around great Thai Restaurants, but located in a darker part of town Pros: One of the best Thai Restaurants visted. Clean, great service, great food. Each and every dish had a unique taste. You can taste each individual texture. Fresh food. Cons: It's located in Tenderloin, which means needing to be careful of your visit, especially at night. It's easy to miss, walked passed the place three times on our first visit. It is located next to a supermarket. Tips: Great lunch specials, definitely try and make your way out for it. You get to sample two different Thai dishes for a great price.
It's been a LOOONG time since I've had Thai food this good, and I've been eating Thai food for nearly 40 years. My wife and I ordered four dishes. Each was very different, and two were Thai tastes that were completely new to me! The menu is quite broad, offering many options. My wife is vegetarian but eats fish and seafood; she also avoids gluten. She had plenty of good choices, and enjoyed the ones she ordered. Spicing was as requested -- hot for me, mild for her. The atmosphere is quite pleasant -- open, not too noisy -- and the service is friendly and attentive, but not overly so. She ordered wine from a list that she described as quite good; I chose Singha from a list of a half dozen or so very good choices (bottles). Lers Ros is not inexpensive, but menu prices are quite fair for the quality of the food and the experience, and servings are generous. I made a meal from two appetizers, one a duck salad and the other a pork shoulder salad, and helped my wife finish her papaya salad, and I was quite full when I finished. Strongly recommended!
Very authentic flavors. Best thai coconut soup ever, we could eat that every day. The curries were so flavorful. You will be impressed with the food. Comfortable, casual atmosphere.
Had an amazing meal here for four on a Sunday evening. Ordered the Thai Coconut soup, the pad kee mao, the red currry, and eggplant tofu. The food is very flavorful with large portions. My favorite was the soup, which is served over an open flame to keep it warm. Good service, bright and clean interior, uncrowded. This restaurant also is good for groups.
Food was delicious and the service was great! The little girl was very nice and gave excellent recommendations. Of all Thai places in SF, I think this is the most authentic and I really like the friendly service and atmosphere.
Lers Ros is one of my favorite restaurants. My husband and I discovered it during the pandemic and have frequented it since then. We moved away from the city, but it’s always our first dinner when we are back in SF. Anytime friends came to visit us we took them to Lers Ros and because of that the restaurant is at the center of so many good memories. Whenever I try Thai food anywhere else I always compare it to Lers Ros. I cannot say enough good things about this place! I definitely recommend yellow curry and pad thai! The green curry is excellent also, but it is soooo spicy so be prepared!
Our server was amazing, helpful, and friendly. We sat outside because my dog was with us. Without me asking, she brought out a bowl of water for the dog. I wanted some plain chicken without sauce for the dog and she was able come up with a solution. It’s a nice place to dine outside on Hayes Street without the noise and traffic.
One of my favorite Thai restaurants! Everything seems more flavorful, from the slightly nutty brown rice, to the appetizers and main dishes. Portions are very generous, and service is always friendly. The interior decor and ability to be seated outside on nice days is wonderful.
Before a nearby performance, we came by for dinner because almost all other restaurants had long waits. Since we didn't have a reservation we were seated outside on the sidewalk. There are no outdoor heaters. The staff were courteous and professional. We ordered the shrimp pad thai and didn't have to wait long to get it. We shared it, but one person may be able to finish it. The pad thai was delicious, and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. There are interesting items such as alligator and frog that we may come back to try.
Here’s the thing, they have multiple locations but only one next to the Symphony. I thought I made a reservation for HayesSt, but I made an error. The kind folks at the host stand found us a nice table. We brought a bottle of wine in and paid their corkage fee. The papaya salad with raw blue crab was particularly special and super delicious. Scallops with ginger and a really flavorful piece of fish.
such a good Thai place. highly recommend the fish cakes, chicken noodle soup, pad thai, and the grilled pork salad. the mango sticky rice was excellent too. service was amazing, our server went above and beyond.
Bast Thai food on Fell St! The portions are generous and very tasty! Perfect for a family style dinner. My son LOVED the Pad See You and the coconut water IN the coconut with little parasols, made his day! The yellow curry is absolutely delicious! We will definitely add them to our weekly Happy Hour schedule
Likely among the very best Thai restaurants in the city. Located in the heart of Hayes Valley, my dark horse pick of the best culinary neighborhood in the city, this restaurant features an enormous and reasonably priced menu compared to other SF restaurants of the same dining caliber. I had one of their soups - the "Tom Yung Koong" - which was a huge hit. The broth was excellent - very sweet and a bit spicy - and the prawns & mushrooms were tasty, tender, and quite filling. The beer menu features the two classic Thai beers (Singha and Chang) as well as a couple other usual suspects - no craft beers (at least at the time of writing, things could change). Service was very fast even on a busy weekend night.
I was so happy that they have easily accepted my reservation request for a large group. This is not easy to do in SF. I have been here a few times and am always satisfied with the food and experience. The dishes are delicious and we especially like the fish dishes. The staff is attentive even when they are busy. The host was friendly and polite. I definitely would come back here with a group again.
Cozy Hayes Valley Thai spot. Food is prepared by Thai cooks (visually confirmed) and come clean, authentic, and with all the flavors you would expect, if you know your Thai food. When I say “authentic” I mean to say American authentic. Because the only true authentic Thai is in Thailand. But this is delicious and distinctive. If you’re in the Hayes Valley and craving a little Thai flavor, don’t hesitate. Oh, and I’m far East Asian born overseas. I haven’t lost my way lol…
One of the absolute best Thai food I have ever had. My mind is blown. I’ll be back for more.
Its amazing meal. We ordered pad thai, tomyum, salad, and basil rice. They are all perfect. U must try here
We tried the crab rolls for the first time and they are delish!! We also ordered the chicken larb which was terrific. We'll have to come back for the sticky rice & mango which seems perfect as a dessert. Service was excellent - friendly, courteous, prompt
This Thai food is seriously delicious. Authentic taste with a great menu. Food is well prepared and portioned. Quick and friendly service, checked all the boxes for me. I actually really liked the dried beef appetizer.
Pad See Ew and Thom Yum soup were delicious. Probably the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had and I’m not even that big on Pad Thai. 10/10 would recommend, definitely would come out to SF just for this place.
Pricing: ~$35 per person (and you’ll be incredibly full) What a delicious meal! This is the perfect choice after enjoying some cocktails in the neighborhood. Every dish we ordered was packed with flavor. The basil pork, grilled pork shoulder, papaya salad, and pad kee mow were all excellent, but the real standout was definitely the stir-fry spinach. It had that magic “wok energy” (wok hay) with a smoky aroma that was absolutely irresistible! It’s certainly the kind of place you want to revisit whenever you’re in Hayes Valley and are craving for some comforting, delicious Thai food. We’ll definitely be back for more!
The customer service was excellent. The recommendations were even better. Everything was delicious and came out in a timely manner. The garlic Frog legs were to die for. It's so tender and so tasty. The special bass was nothing short of spectacular. Every bite was full of flavor and made my mouth sad when it was gone. For dessert, I had the fried bananas and ice cream drizzled with honey. I thought no was can I eat all this, and then it was gone. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes.
Although we made reservations, there were still open tables when we arrived at 7:15pm on a Friday night. The service was so fast. We ordered a chicken satay as an appetizer, which a few pieces were rubbery. My husband ordered the Crispy Chicken over Fried Rice, which he loved. He hoped for more chicken though. I got the Red Curry with chicken, Garlic and Ginger Rice, and the stir fry broccoli. The red curry was easily the best dish. The medium spice was perfect and the crispy eggplants in it. The garlic rice is a must for garlic lovers. Although I ate a plate portion, there was still leftovers for 2 servings. Overall, we’d definitely come back again.
They're Pad Thai is pretty good. The folks are nice. The location is close to my work so I usually order pick up. I would like to see the sidewalk tables sectioned off a bit more if possible, but other than that I give them props for trying. These are hard times for restaurants so I'm not too picky about stuff. Once the city allows indoor dining, I'd like to frequent this place more.
Their food is really great! Yes, it's on the pricier side, but it saves me the hassle of having to fight my way through the Tenderloin to eat at some of the good places down there. One of my favorite dishes is the spicy basil tofu - and yes, they make the food spicy! It always has a nice kick to it, which is much appreciated. The only problem is that on some busy nights you get ushered in and out so fast - it would be nice to have some time to really sit and enjoy everything.
Amazing food! We felt rushed by the servers to meet afternoon closing time. We arrived 45 minutes beforehand and didn't leave more than 5 minutes after closing. I know restaurant staff always has lots to do, but I wish their closing time had a little flexibility so we could have felt more at ease. I felt a bit uncomfortable because I got the feeling that they wished we would leave. We spilled something and the server wordlessly cleaned it up and it felt awkward. The servers were quick and helpful, but not very patient with us. We had two blind travellers with us and a few minutes of extra patience with our crowd considering that would have been much appreciated. Besides that factor, the food was delicious- definitely recommend the curry dishes. And the restaurant was nicely arranged, clean and bright.
Steamed fish was excellent, other proteins were slightly overdone. Solid place for rice and curry. Service was fast, but very hurried and not particularly thoughtful. The fresh coconut they served couldn't be opened up, and the spoons they provided were too flimsy for the flesh.
Only been there for lunch and their lunch menu is not too expensive. Nice ambiance but can get a bit noisy as it is a smaller place and has reflective walls. There are good vegetarian options and the Thai ice tea is pretty good. Spicy Tofu is my favorite and has nice heat to it. This place is 8 min walk from civic center BART station.
We were there for a birthday party and the service was great. One down side is they charge a cake cutting fee, but they never cut and serve the cake; we did it ourselves. The food was 4 out of 5. We all surprised that given the high traffic of the area, the food quality, flavor and quantity were all on point. We had 11 people in our group. We ordered 2 appetizers, 6 entrees and one dessert with drinks the average cost per person was about $25, which included gratuities and the cake cutting fee. Overall, the important thing was we felt satisfied from our meal and experience and didn't mind coming back again.
Great service, delicious Busy restaurant but our food came quickly. All good. I think they should make Pad Thai better because it's not tradition Thai tast. Color not look good. Sorry no photos I recommend Spring Roll And Pla Sam Rod. ForvTomyam Too much Lime.
Tom Yum was ok Duck noodles were really good
Pretty good Pad Thai at this location. I tend to order Pad Thai at every Thai restaurant I go to in order to compare. It's still not the top in San Francisco, but I'd rate the dish a 4/5 stars. As for the location, very conveniently located. I would pass on the cream puffs. We added that as an appetizer, but they were simply just dry.
I made a reservation and when I heard that the hostess wouldn't seat my friends without our entire party present within 10min of the reserved time, I was expecting an unpleasant fight. Fortunately, she seated us with 5/6 of our party without a hassle and the rest of the dinner experience turned out well. The food was very tasty and the service was very busy but remained prompt. We did come at the peak of Friday night and it was very loud and hard to hear others. But overall it surprisingly turned out very well and my guests had a great time.
We were a party of 10 and they did not assign us a table until all 10 showed up !! Besides this, the food was delicious and our server was courteous. Spicy Tofu was really hot but all other dishes were well done. 4/5 to Pad Thai and Yellow Curry. Located in Hayes Valley, it will be tricky to get a parking spot so arrive early enough for your reservation
Lers Ros is a known institution in the San Francisco community for Thai food. Their dishes are good, the staff is very friendly and attentive and they have more than one location. Pricing is a bit high for what it is, but the food is still good enough to bring you back. Wooden table and chair seating available in a no-frills environment. Go for the food, not the atmosphere!
We recently went to Lers Ros Thai which serves authentic Thai food. My Dad recommended it and we were excited to try it out. The restaurant has a modern and relaxed ambiance with plenty of parking available. I'm not very adventurous when it comes to trying new dishes, so I usually stick to curries and noodles. But Lers Ros Thai had some regional dishes on the menu, so I decided to try the Rad Nah. It had an unexpected mix of flavors - sour, tangy, and a strong seafood taste. My Dad ordered the Thai Basil with Beef, which he found to be tasty. My companion had the Pad See Ew with Chicken, and he thought it was good. The service was satisfactory, but nothing exceptional. The portions were well-sized for the price, and we even had some leftovers to take home. Overall, it was a great experience, and I can see why there's so much hype around this place.
Ordered a take out of green Thai curry and pad Thai.Food was good but little oily and greasy
Pretty good Thai food but their spiciness is not consistent. We like spicy, so we ordered medium. The curry came out perfect, spicy but not burning. The pad kee mow on the other hand was definitely more than medium. I was fine but my friend was breaking out in a sweat after a few bites. Don't get the fried veggie rolls, too much skin and not enough filling.
This place was tasty. It was a quaint restaurant and the service was quick. The food was decent for the most part. Personally, some of the dishes were lacking in terms of meat and protein on them. The servers were nice and it was a good meal before going to the opera since it has a good location. Maybe not the best Thai place in town for certain dishes but very solid.
A very good place to dine Thai food. Located on Hayes Avenue, it offers a delicious menu. I recommend the Som Tom salad with shrimp is delicious and spicy, it's like a Mexican aguachile. They have very good wines. I recommend you book in advance because it is a very popular place since there are several theaters nearby. Good prices. The service of the staff was regular, they missed one dish of our order and in the end of dinner the waiter pushed us to leave the place (friendly).
Went there for a celebration and ordered their pepper beef and rice and my wife got their barbecue chicken. Great flavor, good sizable portions and very nice service. I absolutely enjoyed my experience there. The only thing l think could make it perfect would be some music. It was too quiet for me. Other than that; great food for an affordable price.
We ordered the curry puff as an appetizer, along with green curry and pad thai. The curry puff was excellent—warm and soft on the inside. The food was served on time, and the portions were generous. The green curry was good, though not particularly impressive, and the pad thai was a bit too saucy for my taste.
I loved the Dry Tom Yum Noodle bowl. The sauce and noodle texture was great, and their crispy pork belly was actually light and crispy! Great portions of protein. My friends pad thai was also great, but two strands of noodle were stuck together and thus didn’t get coated in the sauce, but it was still delicious.
In my case, they did not or forget to check our Google reservation. However, they found us a table when I showed them a copy of the reservation on my phone. The food here is on the sweet side which I think it caters more to western taste. I'm from SE Asia and visited Thailand many many times so I know how Thai foods should taste like. If you are looking for Thai foods, I guess this place is ok. The ambience is simple enough but not much of Thai decoration.
This was my first visit to the restaurant for Thai food. It was late dinner time and about half the customers were there. I ordered Tom Yam Noodle. It was very sour and the noodles were very soft. The raw shrimp had a slightly unpleasant smell. The stir-fried spinach was delicious! I will come back to try other menu items.
If you enjoy Thai Food then you must visit here. Awesome food with great service. Had the Tom Yum Sour Soup with Shrimp (medium heat), BBQ Chicken w/ side of Jasmine White Rice, Thai Salad (medium). Singha Beer available. Not to strong & not to light in the taste. Gives you a good buzz.
Yum woon sen salad was very delicious which was my favorite among other dishes we ordered. The male server who took our orders was attentive and nice. This restaurant is in a neighborhood called Hayes Valley where various restaurants, bars and clothing shops are concentrated so it'll be great for a walk nearby before or after a meal
Among the many Thai cuisine options in the city, I decided to try this b/c I was looking for Thai food that was a little different than your typical pad thai establishment. While I agree that Ler Ros Thai featured many items on their menu that I had not seen on other Thai restaurant menus, the food and experience that I had this visit was just okay, slightly above average. First of all, the restaurant is very small, which is not surprising since it's in the city. However, it's still uncomfortable to be sitting elbow to elbow with strangers b/c of the unbelievably small gap between tables. Secondly, the food was good, but nothing to rave about. Portions were decent, but the price is above those of your neighborhood Thai restaurant. I tried the cod with Thai eggplant. I had never seen a dish like this before and was hoping for a more unique flavor profile. Besides the uniqueness of the Thai eggplant (visually it looks like a tiny watermelon), the rest of the dish lacked considerable flavor. Overall, Lers Ros Thai was okay. Despite the lukewarm recommendation, I would not be against giving it a second try only because I am hoping the other more unusual Thai dishes offered on the menu will make me like this establishment more.
Ordered take out from this place. Food was overall tasty, but slightly too spicy. Should offer different spice options to choose from. Only 3 stars because of incredibly long wait time on a Thursday evening. It took them 60 mins to prepare 2 simple curries and a soup. With delivery time we got out food much later than expected.
Would not recommend eating here during normal dinning hours as the food is overpriced for what you actually get. I always come for the 12.50 lunch special, which is typically served fast and is worth the price. As for the service, it’s hit or miss. The male servers are very friendly make you feel comfortable, whereas the female ones (especially this one short waiter with short black cropped hair) have horrendous attitudes and make you feel like you’re a nuisance for eating there. Overall I try to avoid ler Ros for other, higher quality spots in Hayes valley.
I prefer the Larkin location in terms of price. It's the same food, so it's worth going to the TL for the lower price. But if you want some atmosphere, then this Hayes Valley location has it. It can get loud and lively at night. There's lots of exotic options, like frogs legs, and Thai food staples, like Pad Thai. I only had chicken soup because my stomach was sensitive that day. It was good, but I wish the chicken didn't come minced. I prefer chunks of chicken, which it did have. I'm not sure why the chicken was served in different ways.. This place is worth a try if you're in the area and all the other restaurants in the area are full.
What happened to you Lers Ros? Lers Ros used to be one of the best Thai food experiences in the country. It is now a shadow of itself. Brought visitors from Eastern Europe last night and while there were some highlights that are now back to their peak such as the Pork Shoulder Salad, the rest is like something from the mediocre hot plate restaurant in Wichita. Since when do all Thai dishes have carrots and bell peppers? Cheap filler. Even the Pork Shoulder Salad really needed a bit of oomph on ingredients, but thank goodness was NOT served with Iceberg lettuce. But it seemed to be missing lots of core ingredients. It used to be just so good.
I ordered the vegetarian yellow curry dish and an order of rice for take out. The flavor of the curry was delish and they had my order completed fast, however I didn't think there were enough veggies in it. I had 2 tiny pieces of potato and 3 slices of carrot and 3 broccoli, with a lot of onions. All and all I spent $21 on lunch and feeling a little disappointed on the lack of hardiness that I was expecting.
Lers Ros isn’t any different from other Thai places. It’s stoplight curry. Red, yellow, green. Not even real Thai food—just more of the same Gastro-diplomacy that Thailand exports worldwide. And frankly, the chicken satay was tough and as flavorful as cardboard. Don’t let their About page fool you into thinking it’s anything special. I’ve had the exact same Thai food in Dublin, Ireland and Medford, Oregon. It’s everywhere.
The food is good even though it's a little pricey for Thai food. The staff's attitude has declined over the years. They aren't friendly, always rushed and seem understaffed. Sometimes the attitude feels border line rude. I do like the food, but I might go to one of the other locations or just order take out. I'm kinda tired of the staff being so blasé.
It is a walking distance from the War Memorial Opera House. They are able to serve food quickly for us to make it the ballet. The Tom yum soup noodle is flavorful but is a little too sour and a little not spicy enough. The pud see ew is just fine. The beef noodle soup noodle is yummy but the pieces of beef a bit too large. Feels thirsty for 2 hours after the meal; thinking that they may use a fair amount of MSG.
My first lunch and dinner at Lers Ros Thai were both really, really good. But when I continued coming over here for lunch, the food was no longer as good as the first time. The vegetables weren't thoroughly cooked, including the potatoes in the yellow curry, which made for an unappetizing lunch. I thought maybe it was a fluke the first time I had a substandard lunch and kept on coming back, but I continued to be disappointed. The service is good during the lunch rush, so no complaints about that. I just wish the food was as good as it used to be.
Our dinner was quite the let down. None of the dishes we got were good at all…we got the garlic quail as an appetizer, and beef tendon noodle soup and duck noodle soup. Barely any meat on the quail, the little bits of meat were tough, and lots of bone fragments. I would not recommend the noodle soups either. The soup broth was very sweet. Im not sure if this is typical of Thai noodle soups, but I would not get this again… Pro: The service was great!
Very basic food with minimal attention to preparation. Tasted more like cheap Chinese than Thai. 1 Star for food. 3 Stars for Service Some of the veggies in various dishes were tired and tasted like old socks. The shrimp was obviously past it's expiration date. Yuck! The steamed rice was mushy. The Chicken Satay was rubbery and looked like me it was sliced off a loaf of deli meat.
This restaurant seems to be a very popular Thai restaurant in SF. The food is generally good. However, I am not used / not like some of the food there. I ordered a BBQ combination. The salad there is very very spicy. I am not sure if authentic Thai food are that spicy. We also ordered a fish curry like dish. The flavor does not mix with curry which does not meet my expectation.
I was VERY disappointed. The noodles for the Pad See Ew were over cooked and quite frankly... Gummy. The dish lacked flavor. The Fried Rice left nothing to be desired. The peanut sauce for the Thai Curry Puffs was thick enough to lay bricks. I give them at least one star because I did enjoy the Fried Roll. This meal was not worth the Uber Eats delivery fee. Panda Express would have been better and cheaper!!
Absolutely the worst Thai food experience I have ever had! The food was simply disgusting due to an odd after taste of some kind. Nothing like flavoursome Thai food I am accustomed to and LOVE! Dishes were brought out cold too! Customer service was a big fat zero! Given my friends and I hardly ate the food we were served, staff should have been somewhat concerned and accommodating. Instead, they stayed tight lipped and brought the bill to us. Talk about wrong and strong!!! Also, hating something is equivalent to zero stars in my opinion. But since that isn't an option, one single bogus star is selected by Godgle on my behalf.
I've been dying to eat Thai food in San Fransisco and was excited to try this place, but I won't even be going back again. I placed a Togo order for Pad Thai and had a couple requests when is was made. I didn't want Amy peanuts or bean sprouts with minced chicken. Which the bartender said that was OK but then when I asked for tomato added I got the look from her like I'm asking for too much and she just flat out said NO. I should have known right there not to proceed with My order, but being starving I decided to just place the order. MY FOOD SUCKED to sum it up. It was unbelievably soggy and mashed together like it had been sitting out for hours. There was wayyyy too much lime on it to the point where that's all I could taste was soggy lime. The rice was hard and dry and not sticky at all. Not impressed at all. I wont be going back and if you go here I would stay away from the pad Thai. I didn't even finish it. I threw about 70 percent of it in the trash. WORST PAD THAI I'VE EVER HAD HANDS DOWN.👎
I normally like this place, but they may have too many health hazards. Two years ago a mouse was running around my table. I ignored because I presumed that it had comes from outside, as I was seated near the door. But now I found a RUBBER BAND inside my fried roll from a delivery. Never ordering from here again.
DO NOT RECOMMEND - POOR SERVICE / MEDIOCRE FOOD A group of 6 of us had dinner at Lers Ros Thai yesterday evening (12/14/23) at 10pm after a comedy show. We ordered two Thai green curries, pad siew, pad kee mow, crab pad Thai and beef fried rice. The food was mediocre at best and serving sizes were on the smaller side. Both the pad kee mow and crab pad Thai plates had a large serving of bean sprouts (40% portion of the plate). The crab pad Thai was overly sweet but had a good portion of crab meat. Service was quick but horrible. I understand we made it before their last kitchen call (10:10pm) and the restaurant closes at 11pm but it should not have warranted the type of behavior we experienced. The servers kept checking and asking to clear our plates unnecessarily on multiple occasions. My friend had to consolidate her foods onto one plate so that the server can clear it when there was no need to do so. We were not short on table space and are still in the middle of our meals. At the end of our meal, we had some leftover crab pad Thai and rice that we wanted to pack to go. We asked for boxes but the servers came and grabbed the dishes to the back for us. I didn’t think much about that until today when our friend opened the box and realized they had just dumped the rice over the noodles instead of packing them separately or placing them next to each other in the box. For reference, our group left the restaurant after closing time at 11:05pm but there were still about 10+ people eating at the restaurant when we left. I cannot believe this restaurant was rated top 100 in SF. I do not recommend coming here, you can find better tasting Thai with better service at a better price elsewhere.
Lost it’s reputation. What happened? Sad fact is they know they’re sub-standard now. I’m a polite Canadian who was expecting good wholesome genuine Thai food. What I received at every turn was below average, mediocre tasting lime/garlic based chicken dishes in #85 and #81. They were nearly indistinguishable. I’ve never had such thinly veiled “Thai” food, and what happened to the generous portions? I had to order a side of rice. $38.00 for 2 people could have bought far better in other restaurants. Sorry Lers Ros, but you really need to re-earn the reputation you used to have. Honestly, I think I do better Thai in my kitchen in Edmonton!!
Too much bad service and the attitude of staffs is too much bad and the food is too low quality I will never return to this restaurant
Horrible place with horrible service. They not only messed up my order but were extremely rude and did nothing to help or make up for their mistake. They didn’t even offer any compensation and said i have to get a refund myself through uber eats. Really bad service and very disappointed because i heard the place was good. I would give 0 stars if i could
This is based off one Grubhub order. Pretty disappointing, pad Thai was so sweet it wasn’t edible. Even the red curry was too sweet, couldn’t even eat more than a couple bites. Hopefully it was just an off night for the kitchen.
Got the dry Tom yum noodles because everyone here seems to recommend it but the meats are all cold?!? Also got the chicken noodle soup, the chicken is dry and tough like cardboard. Also I requested the most spicy level and it was not even a little bit spicy. Extremely disappointing place. Kept rushing people to finish too.
