Nice friendly replacement of Little Wok. Our pork belly Benedict had properly cooked eggs (not vinegar tasting) with a slightly thick Hollandaise sauce. House jams (strawberries, mangoes) are great on toast. Potatoes are cooked in well caramelized onions. House lemonade is also fresh and tart. Street metered parking is abundant as well as being near the M line stop.
Came here on the recommendation of a friend and I’m so glad I did! Pretty short wait for a Saturday morning (I think it was ~25 min from putting our names down to actually getting served food). The staff are super friendly and efficient. The Chilaquiles were delicious, as were the pineapple pancakes. Also really liked their Habanero hot sauce, which I think was homemade. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
This is my second time eating here. The last time I had the chilaquiles with the pibil and it was excellent. I had half an order and was stuffed. This time, I had the birria eggs Benedict and it was really good. The eggs were perfect and the birria was so flavorful. Another must are the pineapple pancakes.
We visit family regularly who live walking distance from Lucho's, and we go there every time we visit. Always excellent food! Plus great, friendly service. Each of us has a different favorite menu item - everything is so good and delicious. I almost always have the pancake - either their menu item pineapple upside down pancake, or the day's special pancake. The peach pancake I had today, with a special homemade syrup, was sooo good I had to write a review. It was amazing - fresh thinly sliced peaches, light but flavorful syrup, fluffy pancake - words do not do it justice! Neither does my picture. Literally the best pancake I have ever had. Other family members love the pozole, chilaquiles, spicy fried chicken sandwich, bunuelos, and breakfast burrito. Not to mention the mimosas! We love Lucho's!
I’ve always wanted to try this place out but every single time i’ve gone there closed, but i was finally able to catch them open! What i noticed immediately was how the owner treats her employees, there was a young African American girl as the waiter & the owner asked her what she wanted for her lunch, that impressed me a lot! It’s rare seeing bosses taking good care of their employees. So asked the owner if i could see the menu & she hands me one but then i started noticing how every table had chilaquiles so i look at the menu & they have two sizes for their chilaquiles, small & large, i over hear the employees talking spanish so i ask one of them how much they give for the small & the large. He then tells me the small is for one person & the large is for two or more. So i tell him to give me the small size. I started a brief conversation with Lucho’s who after doing a little bit of research is the owner of the place which explains why the place is called Lucho’s. Ok the salsa they use on these chilaquiles are bomb! Highly recommend starting with the small portion if u like it then i would go with the large size. Besides the chilaquiles Lucho’s recommended me the tacos they sell as well their cuchinita pebil.
Absolutely incredible. Lucho and his staff are welcoming, friendly and give great service. We got the Spicy Fried Chicken Benedict and the Cochinita Pibil. I couldn’t put the sandwich down. The Cochinita Pibil had so much flavor and was incredibly delicious. We couldn’t have asked for a better brunch on a Friday morning.
A surprising find and one of the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Truly, something different. Full of flavor and a portion big enough that I could not finish it, even though I really wanted to. The coffee was delicious. It’s a small place and you may have to wait but I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Best breakfast in ages! This section of Ocean Avenue has a lot to offer in culinary delights these days. The service was friendly and thorough. The outside parklet looked organized and comfortable. They even had a separate table inside for the staff to eat....good priorities.I'll be back soon to try a lunch.
Me and my wife love this place in the neighborhood It is amazing to see the owner greeting you and helping you with new menu items Everyone here is so kind and friendly Also the best Benedict’s and pancakes P.s. also tried Mexican coffee and it’s super tasty but very very sweet
Luchos is my favorite place to eat in all of San Francisco. It is special. Truly wonderful people making truly delicious food.
Lucho's is the best for breakfast, lunch or brunch. Our Lakeside Village gem!! Really delicious, fresh, ample portions, and service with a genuine smile! I love "The Linda" and the Chicken Pibil Tostada. Kelly and Lucho are wonderful and deserve all the accolades!
Went here with my Boyfriend and gluten free friend. The food options were really nice and even helped cater to a gluten free diet. Amazing food will definitely be going here again when incoke back to SF
They managed to squeeze us in, a family of 5. We ordered 4 different dishes and the food was great, the team was very welcoming and checked that everything is OK. If you around and like to have a breakfast, stop by!
Food was amazing and the service was even better! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. We’ll definitely be back whenever we’re back in the area!
Lucho's is my favorite brunch spot in SF! all the workers are friendly and personable. the food is top quality. the spicy fried chicken benedict (spicy 🌶️!!) and birria chilaquiles are my go-to. always a waitlist on the weekends but service moves quick!
Delicious food. Small restaurant with limited sitting, but because of that the service is really good. Staff is nice. Food taste great. The taste is genuine Mexican. Can't go wrong with anything. Burrito, pancakes, chilaquiles, everything was good. Servings are generous. I got the Half Chilaquiles and the portion was more than enough for me. The full could've fed 2 or 3 people. Definitely would come here again.
I’m so happy we tried this place, the customer service makes you feel like family and well taken care of from the moment you walk in. I got the half serving of Chilaquiles (I added beans and pico) and it was ginormous, soooo tasty though! Do not skip on pineapple upside down pancakes, they were 10 out of 10!! my boyfriend never gets egg Benedict, but got the birria benedit said that these were worth a try and loved them!
This place is GOOD and we got to meet Lucho who was a sweetie!! I got the cochinita pibil sandwich and it was delicious! The meat was tender and flavorful and the sauce was creamy with the perfect kick. Highly recommend
It’s a great restaurant! The staff is friendly and considerate, then owner makes the rounds to ensure your satisfaction, and there’s a parklet outside which is great on sunny days. Lines are common so it’s better to get there early. Very family friendly. They serve beer - if that’s important to you. We pancakes were around $14. If you order coffee with cream they pour the cream in the cup for you; white sugar is on the table. Every table has hot sauce galore, including salt & pepper. (What is up with this trend of restaurants not leaving S&P on the table????? Rant over.) Check out the ginormous chilaquiles!! Warning- these are only for the spicy spicy lovers - absolutely not substitutions! See you there!
Update: Sunday at 11:30, diners were finishing up ans a few tables were available. My friend and I were seated right away and had a wonderful brunch. Mango mimosas, chilaquiles, peach pancake was amazing, crispy edges, and almost too sweet but we devoured it. Next time I’m asking for syrup on the side. The place had a queue right after we were seated, timing is everything! I had house made conchinita pibil (pork) with my chilaquiles and it was sublime! Tender and flavorful. Staff were attentive and efficient. ——————— Great neighborhood spot for a boozy (or not!) brunch. Came here twice in two weeks, first on a Tuesday morning around 9:15am, we weren’t the first there. You order at the counter and pay then sit and the food is brought to you-I like this system because there’s no waiting to pay when you’re done. It’s a small space, clean and cozy. There’s a parklet outside too. I first noticed they had mimosas and beer and tequila! I didn’t try in this visit but was pleasantly surprised. The menu has traditional breakfast offerings with a Latin flair (think Birria Benedict, chilaquiles, breakfast burritos). I had avocado toast and my husband had the breakfast burrito-which was huge, delicious and filled with eggs, cheese, potatoes, bacon and salsa. So delicious! We shared the special pineapple coconut pancake- perfect! Not too sweet and crisp at the edges. My toast was good but overshadowed by the burrito and pancake. Coffee was very good and from a local roaster. Next visit was on a Sunday before the Stern Grove concert, got there at 9:45 and it was filling up fast, the owner was there and was managing the line and seating very well. She was gracious and personable. Some staff were newer so needed some guidance from her but overall service was good and attentive. This time I had the chilaquiles with soy chorizo, avocado, salsa, fried egg. You have to add the proteins and avocado on separately to the order…which makes it an expensive dish but let me say it is well worth it. I had a half portion which was enough for two. It was fantastic and I can’t wait to come back and order it again. I had the mimosa this time and it was a nice pour… Great neighborhood place that is well liked so if you go on the weekend, be early or prepare to wait. Weekdays are better…there is also lunch too but I haven’t gotten that far in the menu yet! Parking isn’t bad either.
We ordered Chile relleno, Spicy fried chicken Benedict. Taste and flavors were simply amazing!! Pineapple upside down pancakes were so fluffy and delicious! Would definitely recommend!
If you’re going, go hungry!! Even ordering the half sizes, we have breakfast for a second day! This was our first time, but definitely not our last! Everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive - exceptional service with a total side of just happiness. Felt like everyone was happy to be there and so many people were clearly loyal repeat customers based on the warmth in which they were greeted and the conversations. Always a good sign! It’s a small little space, but even if it looks like there is a huge group waiting, give it a try. It moves fast! We had the breakfast burrito with their house made pork, peach pancakes (a special - and so over the top delicious!!), the buñuelos, and chilaquiles. One person in our party ordered the Mexican coffee, which warns it will be sweet, but after trying it, we each ended up getting one! You have to try this place!!
OMG! what a gem, every dish is made with love, all made from scratch, the most incredible tacos, don’t miss adding conchito pibil to any dish (pork cooked for 6+ hours in banana leaf). Can’t wait till next time.
The first time I stepped foot in Lucho's was in the midst of the pandemic, several years ago. At that time, they had outdoor dining set up exclusively, and although they still have some of their outdoor seating available, they've since reopened their indoor dining. While a bit close-quartered, it's a great way to observe the kitchen churning out some delicious food in very tight confines. Never again will I complain about the size of my kitchen. Being such a popular place, particularly for brunch on weekends, the process is a smooth one. Simply put your name on the list, and after they call you, head up to the register and order your meal. Of course, if you want to order more, you can always do that from your table, but that's pretty much it—and it works. And speaking of the food, it's outstanding! I'm a big fan of Lucio's Omelette ($16.25), whereas my wife likes trying various items from the menu. During our most recent visit, she ordered the California Eggs Benedict ($18.25), complete with bacon and avocado. This time of year, they also have Pumpkin Pancakes, which are truly special. I get one as a side, but if you're a fan of pancakes at all, order two or three—they're outstanding. Speaking of outstanding, despite the hustle and bustle of such a busy restaurant, the staff will make you feel welcome and are truly customer service-focused. For sure, give Lucho's a try if you're ever in the area.
Wow! First time in Cali and this place did not disappoint. I ordered the chilaquiles and fried plantain. The portions were ample and the taste was outstanding. These folks really put together a great dish, presentation, and service.
Nice place to have breakfast, everyone is nice an friendly. Food is great!
It is a hidden gem in the city! I love love Lucho’s. I look forward to dining with them every time I visit! I brought my boyfriend for the first time and he loved it!
What a great find! We came for Sunday brunch, there was a wait, but totally worth it. Staff was so friendly, I really liked their system that you order first before sitting down, which makes less waiting for everyone. We had birria chilaquiles, pozole, and donuts. Food was so good! Thank you Lucho !
Not the most fancy place. The food is Delicious 😋 was very friendly staff with great service. It's decently priced so you won't break your wallet. What more can you ask for. It's one of our go-to spot for weekend brunch or breakfast.

Lucho’s is absolutely amazing! The food is delicious, fresh, and full of flavor—everything I tried was outstanding. The place is always clean and well cared for, which makes the experience even better. But what truly sets Lucho’s apart is the staff: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can feel the pride they take in what they do. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food and excellent service!
We were thrilled to accidentally come across this gem in SF. We thoroughly enjoyed our first breakfast at Lucho's on Ocean Avenue. The good was excellent and the service was stellar.

We went there for breakfast and were lucky to have only waited a few minutes. They recommended the chilaquiles with pibil and it was outstanding. We had pancakes that were great as well. Very well made and not too sweet. Recomendo hablando espanol con Sr. Lucho. No hablamos espanol muy bien, pero trattamos de hablar and el era muy simpatico and atento (had to look that one up). Anyway, this was the best breakfast we had while visiting.
Overall the food was good and the service was excellent. When I was there I got the cochinita pibil sandwich. Which was good but a bit messy. One of the things that shocked me were the prices, I paid close to $20 including tip for just one meal and no added drink. If you plan on getting a drink here you are most likely going to pay closer to $30. However, the atmosphere is warming and the service is super friendly so it is a great spot for a friend date or a date date. This place is small so if you want a seat make sure you get here at a good time.
- Extremely delicious "Tostada with sauteed veggies". Though small portion size - Husband found his "chicken chilaquile" to be very flavorful too but maybe the dish had way too many nachos making it a heavily fried plate of food - good cup of coffee. I just wish they offered some low-sugar and non-alcoholic innovative drinks Overall quick service and wonderful food.
"New in town, hungry, and running on fumes—this place hit the spot!" I had just rolled into town with a little time to kill before check-in, so I figured I’d try a small local joint—and I’m so glad I did. This unassuming little Mexican spot turned out to be a gem. I ordered the blackened shrimp Benedict, and wow—talk about flavor. Perfectly cooked shrimp, great seasoning, and just the right amount of richness. There was a sweet employee who offered me a box near the end of my meal—I had a couple bites left and I think I caught her off guard by not needing one. Hopefully, she didn’t think I didn’t like the food, because I really did. Just pacing myself! Compliments to the chef—I’ll definitely be coming back to try something new on the menu next time I’m in town. -Jacob W.
What a little gem in between neighborhoods💎✨. Was craving all-American brunch and this place did not disappoint. Had Florentine Benedict and it was delicious. Should have added ham to it though😁. Tasty potatoes, French toast with homemade jam. The vibe is also quite charming. Small dining space with outdoor sitting. Let's support small businesses like this. Keep them open we can can continue enjoy our Sunday brunch! 🇺🇲🌈🍳🥞
