Had a great dinner with friends here! Especially liked the chicken wings and crab bao. This place is great for large groups and has good vibes. They also have a karaoke room! Located right in SF japantown
Upscale atmosphere. Solid selection of whiskey, and good service. The wings are a great deal for happy hour. Matt has 5 star service. Will return.
And then they said "We'll go to that Hawaiian Restaurant everyone's talking about...Pa'ina Restaurant and Lounge is the name, and it's right there on Post street...it's Amazing" Well, I about popped one up, I was so excited! All I had to do for the day was give my neighbor, Mrs. O'Feelea Squirmwatter a 12 Ott Scrabbledapper and a box ammo so she can keep the salespeople away from her front door. She figures because it worked on the door to door vaccum salesmen it'll work on the magazine salesman too. Probably will. I'll tell you what, I was so excited to go to Pa'ina I showed up an hour early! And...the food was Spectacular! 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆
The atmosphere was nice. The dishes and the drinks were pretty interesting. It’s more like Asian fusion. The Ube Pina Colada drink was perfect for summer.
I came with a group of 10 for a friend's Birthday dinner Friday night! There was a semi-busy bar at the entrance and a couple tables with also pretty large groups. The menu has a lot of shareable and drink options. We split a scorpion bowl and platter tier 1 with our half of the table to start. The garlic noodles were flavorful and chicken wings crispy and full of sweet-garlic flavor. The beef and pulled pork were moist, but for the Hawaiian-fusion menu could use a bit more flavor. I thought the space was also relatively on the empty side for 8:00PM. There's a large back lounge area that wasn't being used too, which probably contributed to an oddly quiet ambiance for karaoke or drinks. From the drink we had, I’d definitely recommend coming back to try some drinks over Happy Hour
My meal was enjoyable. On Tuesdays, the Kabli and Kalua pig tacos were $2.50 each. The duck and shrimp ones were $3.50 a piece. With a Hawaiian meal, I usually order some sort of spam dish. Their spam musubi $5 was, let's say, adequate. I can't say their house wings $9 were spectacular. Their kitchen was a little slow on some items. The bartender was quick though. My drinks came out fast. The waiter seemed like he didn't want to be there. Who can blame him, he had a lot to do. Overall, the presentation was nice. With that said, sometimes that could be a bad thing. For example, the margarita had this black salt around the rim of the glass. It looked unique. But, the black color dye rubs off. The next thing I knew, my lips were black and so were some of my fingers. My meal was $50+ with tax and tip.
They’re open for delivery and takeout, even serving alcoholic beverages on doordash! I had the duck fried rice and the duck was well cooked and a lot of fresh veggies in it. The Mac n cheese was slightly lacking in salt but super cheesy. I really loved the wings, which came as a free add on Uber eats! Order all the food!

Wing Wednesdays are awesome! Also I have to note moments of gratitude since businesses don’t have to go out of their way to be nice to a paid customer once they leave. I dropped my Invisalign tray (right after I changed it too!) at the restaurant and they remember me from the day before and called me to let me know they found my tray. I was embarrassed, but grateful that they picked up my tray so that I could continue my teeth alignment. lol. Thank you!! :) and also the wings taste fantastic!!!

Overall the food was really good! Favorites of mine were the nachos and the mac and cheese. Not impressed by the loco moco and the bathrooms could definitely be better maintained. Good for groups (it seems like it was mostly large parties plus a private party) but our reservation was at 6:30 and the food started arriving at the table at 6:30 ON THE DOT. Less than half of our party was there at the table. It’s nice that they’re timely but that’s super weird to me.
Stopped by for a quick happy hour around 6 pm. You can book the waiting list on their website ! Didn't have to wait too long (under 10 mins). Came here for the 25c wings on Wednesdays. Such a good deal! Service was nice. Our waitress frequently checked in on us. Wings come in a bowl of 6 so it’s $1.25 for each order. Lychee-Tini was sweet and not too strong. Poke nachos was an odd flavor pairing. Individually it's complements would work well together. They have different happy hour promotions each day. Fun spot with friends or family.
Walked past her with my family and saw they have $1 oysters (Thursday only & at 5-7pm). We came in and ordered some drinks & 2 dozens of oysters. It was so good that we ordered another 2 dozen but the waiter misheard me and only gave us 1 dozen. We also waited about 20 minutes or more for the 1 dozen of oysters... This place is a great deal for some oysters but it took way to long. Overall Rating: 9/10
Came here after work with a friend for their happy hour. I wanted to try their taro drink, but they removed it from the menu by the time we went. Inside was really big with two levels and tables set up outside as well. It was already pretty busy at 5pm (I believe a private event was happening), but we were seated indoors promptly. We were impressed by their list of drinks and ordered the nachos, kimchi noodles, tacos, and chicken wings. We tried the mai tai and the drink was so strong. My friend thought it was really good, but it was a bit too strong for my taste. The kalua pig tacos were dry and would pass on them. The kimchi noodles were my favorite and the beef quality was really good. The nachos and chicken wings were pretty good too, but nothing spectacular. Overall, I thought this place is a good place to meet with friends and have some drinks, especially since this place would be good for groups.
We came at their happy hour. Friendly staff and servers who were very attentive (offered to move us to another when our neighboring table became obnoxiously loud). The front of the house is a little cold so it’s best to sit in the back or wear a sweater. We ordered the happy hour drinks which were delicious and reasonably priced (Mai Tai/Kona big wave) at 5$/drink. We tried their garlic fries, poke bowl (which was too salty), and sliders. Would highly recommend the sliders since they were so juicy and savory! Noticed that the Spam Musubi is on the happy hour menu but priced the same as in the regular menu.

The food and atmosphere were enjoyable, and overall we had a positive experience. While the service was somewhat slow, I understand this was likely due to the size of our group and how busy the restaurant was at the time. Despite that, my cousin had a wonderful birthday celebration.

My friends and I went for dinner and got the combo meal! Lots of dishes were pitched as shared food. We got the platter for 4-6 people. They accidentally gave us the fish combo platter for up to 10 people, which was an extra $50, but when we told them it wasn’t what we ordered they took it away. Hopefully they didn’t toss it! They also ran out of spare ribs so just gave us some other meat. Very meat heavy. Almost no vegetables.
Food: 3/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Overall: Standard fare. The extended review… Food: Loco Moco - 3/5 - I was pretty disappointed with this dish. The flavor was a little bland. Service: 4/5 - Friendly service. Ambiance: 3.5/5 - Definitely feels like more of a pub atmosphere where people come more for drinks and bar eats.

Came on a Friday night. Ordered multiple pitchers of beer. (Can’t recall specific type) But all of the beer tasted extremely watered down. Ordered a cocktail too and it tasted mostly like syrup and soda water. Was not a strong drink at all. Not to mention, they did not serve any real dishes. Only small bites, I thought I would be able to eat dinner as well but I thought wrong. Will not be coming back for drinks. You’re better off going to a bar that serves real drinks if what you are looking for are drinks. Very disappointing experience. Might come back to try the food since I wasn’t able to.
We were not impressed by this place. Food was bland and didn’t meet expectations we have for Hawaiian Food. The outdoor seating felt isolated and cold since we were seated in the non heated section although reservations had been made. Timing on how the food came out was very bad. The dishes we thought would come out first due to prep times, came out last, which meant one of us was eating while the other waiting for food. We were never checked on during the whole meal. Can’t run a restaurant like this, I know we’re all running on fumes, but the misses here are hospitality basics.
Overall everything was bland. We ordered the Pa’ina wings, the duck fried rice, and the spicy mayo tuna poke bowl. The wings were crispy, but they just tasted like ginger in an unpleasant way. The duck fried rice just tasted like sesame oil, and the duck itself was bland. The rice was also undercooked (a bit hard). The tuna didn’t taste very good or fresh, and it’s sauce wasn’t spicy or flavorful. The rest of the poke bowl was similarly disappointing. We went in the middle of a festival, so although the service was slow, I’m not weighing that strongly in this review..
While we were excited to celebrate Mother's Day brunch at Pa'ina Restaurant, our experience fell short of expectations. We placed our order quickly but had to wait around an hour for our food, which was quite disappointing. The smoky atmosphere inside also detracted from the overall experience. Although the food was good and our server was apologetic, we were not informed upfront about the wait, which affected our overall enjoyment. We definitely won't be returning.

We happened upon this place and although empty except for one table of 6, we thought it might be good. It was NOT. I truly have not had food this bad since forever. I ordered the oxtail noodle soup. Soup was tasteles, oxtail was not soft (needed to be boiled more), and noodles were tasteless. It was called oxtail soup with bok choy. I swear there were 2 pieces of bok choy. I asked for salt hoping it would help, it did not. Simply awful. My husband ordered the pork belly tacos. He ate one of the 3 tacos and left it there as it was not good either. We ordered 2 sides - the Mac and cheese (was ok) and the edamame (over cooked and tasteless). This all cost $54 - not cheap but simply not good at all. Don’t expect this place will last as it shouldn’t. A miserable experience.
