Opinions de Perbacco San Francisco
Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Noise Level: moderately loud Just about everything was perfect for this dinner. Our server Jamie was personable and efficient. The Italian 75 and Mamma Mia cocktails were great. The Acme bread and parmigiano butter were delicious. The butter was nice and soft, yay. The Little Gem Salad was great, delicate and not overly dressed. Our Tajarin and Agnolotti dishes were perfectly delicious, seasoned well. The fingerling potatoes were also great. Loved the duck fat making the potatoes very tasty. Roasted perfectly. The Butternut Squash Budino was great. Nice sweetness from the squash. The Brutti Ma Buoni was also very good. Very light. Can make a mess and shatter if you don’t cut it right! The atmosphere was lively, and also elegant. We had a great time here and would love to come back.
Very good experience at Perbacco. Good service from the staff. I felt the food could have been better. We ordered the roasted octopus for an appetizer and then halibut and risotto for the main course. The risotto was tasty, but the halibut was a little dry and the octopus was a bit tough. For dessert we ordered the flourless chocolate cake which was delicious.
Good food lovely space but not as fun and lively as before 2020 .. This is a substantial Italian restaurant with a great menu that deserves to be supported. The dining room is lovely. The bar is fine, but it used to be way more fun and lively at the bar. May that come back?
Perbacco has always been my favorite Italian restaurant in the city, and it never disappoints. From the service to the drinks to the food, everything is excellent. The only minor drawback is that the decor feels a bit dated. That said, the food is reasonably priced for the quality—delicious dishes with just the right portions. Antipasti: Vitello Tonnato ($19): Slow-roasted veal with capers and arugula. This was my favorite starter—beautifully presented, delicious, and a generous portion. Heirloom Tomato Salad ($19): Mozzarella, pressed watermelon, and cucumbers with mint, basil, tarragon, and champagne-lemon vinaigrette. Fresh and flavorful. Pasta: Pappardelle ($31): Wide pasta ribbons with slow-cooked short rib ragu and scallion horseradish crema. This is one of their signature dishes, and it's always outstanding—never disappoints. Secondi: Liberty Farm Duck Breast ($40): Generous portion of perfectly cooked duck breast. Absolutely delicious. Dessert: Panna Cotta - they make the most delicious Panna Cotta in the world ! They often changed the fruit/sauce that accompany the Panna cotta. This time I got The Figs Panna cotta. I highly recommend Perbacco if you're craving authentic Italian cuisine in the city. It's a reliable favorite that consistently delivers excellent food and service.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Memorable Birthday Celebration at Perbacco We had an absolutely wonderful evening at Perbacco celebrating my son’s birthday. It’s one of his favorite restaurants, and to see one of his favorite dishes served perfectly made the night even more special. The service was truly five stars across the board — attentive, warm, and professional without being overbearing. The food was exceptional, every dish prepared with precision and flavor that reminds you why Perbacco remains one of San Francisco’s best. The wine list is second to none, thoughtfully curated and beautifully paired with the menu. The hospitality is top-notch — genuine, heartfelt, and something to truly be admired. It made our family celebration feel personal and unforgettable. We’re already looking forward to many more visits and memorable experiences at Perbacco in the future.
OMG, what an amaZing dinner experience! Visiting San Francisco from out of town for work & decided to have a niCe dinner out on the town. The food was absolutely fantastic, wine🍷selection was great & dinner service was impeccable. If you're looking to have an amaZing dinner & impress your spouse/friend(s) Perbacco in San Fran is sure to impress! We will definitely be back next time we're in town, Thanks for the Wonderful experience!!!
All-around amazing experience at Perbacco! The serving team is swift, precise, and delivered a lovely experience for us all. I ordered the Risotto and was blown away by the mushrooms within it. My mocktail was good as well, albeit on the sweet side. From the starters to dessert, we had a great time. They even threw in some nougats for free for my birthday. The only downside to the place was that it was noisy in there, which was tough for someone who is noise sensitive like myself.
They prepared a very special and memorable dinner for my family. The staff’s attention is excellent, and it would be impossible not to highlight the outstanding service. On top of that, the food was exquisite. At first, we were hoping to find more options on the menu, but after taking Chef Tobias’s recommendations, I can trust that any of the dishes will be absolutely delicious. A truly great restaurant in every aspect.
Perbacco is a fantastic lunch spot in the Financial District if you’re craving classic, authentic Italian food. You can’t go wrong with the burrata plate. I don’t often finish a plate of pasta, but I enjoyed every last bite of the pesto pasta here. Of course, a meal isn’t complete without dessert, so the sorbetto was a perfect, refreshing finish.
Fun/busy atmosphere - but that makes it really loud when busy inside. EXCELLENT service/host staff. Food is good but not particularly special. Appetizers are a highlight over the mains and not a great dessert spread. Fair/reasonable pricing, including cocktails/wine.
We had Fritto Misto, Crispy mushroom risotto croquettes and truffle aioli, Tomato soup, Plin al funghi and Pan-roasted roasted Cauliflower. The shrimp in the Fritto Misto were so fresh and delicious, the veggies were pretty good too, I wasn't a fan of the calamari though. The mushroom risotto croquettes (arancini) were very moist and creamy. The tomato soup was the best dish of the night, it had pesto oil which elevated the dish to a whole another level. The Pan-roasted roasted Cauliflower was pretty good as well. The Plin al funghi was a bit of a let down :/ We were too full so didn't order dessert. But our server gave us Brutti ma Buoni on the house which we ended up taking to go, but these meringue hazelnut cookies were delicious and light. Service was good. Overall it was a good meal. Would definitely go again :)
Food was great, ambience was mid. We were traveling from the east coast and came here on a date night to celebrate a promotion. I made reservations, but still had a bit of a wait, which is fine. In the past, at other restaurants, anytime I've put that we were celebrating something on the reservation, they show up in some way to celebrate. Whether that's a dessert or champagne. Perhaps I've grown a little spoiled, but I thought it was a bit of a miss to not even mention this note on the reservation. Our waitress seemed a bit disconnected / unenthusiastic entirely. The food was really good overall. This spot definitely attracts an older crowd, which might be why the lights were brighter, but for a 8:30pm reservation, I was surprised by how bright the restaurant was. We probably would've lingered longer for more drinks or dessert if the vibes were better.
This is touted as an upscale Italian restaurant. I went after work and so did everyone else it seems. The crowd was dressed business casual to casual. The bar was lively and crowded. The lighting was dim/moody. There were table cloths and linen napkins. Our waiter spoke in Italian. He was very over the top and engaging. I ordered the amichi mocktail. Sweeter than I like but I enjoyed it. I ordered the Rabaton gnocchi for my entree. The gnocchi was cheesy and tender but the sauce was a bit too flat/ bland for me. You get a pretty good helping. I only ate half and was too full for dessert. I'd give the place another try. Maybe next time try a meat dish.
The meal was very nice. We ordered a few appetizers, wine, and mains. The bread was stellar. I went for traditional specials and everyone was happy with our orders. My only gripe is how busy and loud the venue is. Many tables cramped into a small space. Large parties of 10 sat between small parties of 2 and 4. It really takes away from conversations and ability to hear. The server got busy and forgot about us. I didn't care too much but it was very warm when you cram many people close together and my companions were chugging water to stay cool.
Visited the restaurant for our anniversary, such a disappointment on a number of fronts 1. Very small martini’s 2. Champaign (although French) was served barely chilled 3. Arancini was the biggest failure, not even close to being authentic flat out bad, small little balls tasteless no peas in the middle, served warm. 4. Octopus was just ok, not much taste, served warm not hot. Pappardelle was excellent, duck quacked when pinched, very tough ! My review comes from an East Coast 1st Gen Sicilian so needless to say I am spoiled, but “Perbacco” translated to I’m amazed in English, I am so amazingly disappointed.
