I recently dined at Piccino and genuinely loved the experience. The space is beautifully designed with a strong sense of style, yet it still feels warm and inviting. You can tell a lot of thought went into the details. The service was professional and friendly, and we felt very well taken care of throughout the meal. We ordered two pizzas and were so happy with them. The crust was honestly one of my favorite parts. It had such great texture and flavor, and you can really taste the quality. We kept talking about how good it was. And the bread pudding… wow. It’s truly the best I’ve ever had. Warm, rich, perfectly balanced, and just incredibly satisfying. I’m already thinking about going back just for that. Definitely a spot I’ll be returning to.

Very impressive brunch. Savory bread pudding and panko fish sandwich. A bit pricey for the portion size, but it’s San Francisco. Will be back soon

We enjoyed the ability to talk easily without distracting noise, an agreeable and helpful server who guided us through the menu to help us choose what we wanted while our conversation prevented us from reviewing the menu. Especially savored the polpette and bucatini accompanied by a delicious glass of Vesper Nebbiolo. Even when an accidental spillage of a small amount of wine splashed on my beloved shirt, oxy wipes were promptly provided, and to my welcome surprise removed the red wine stains completely from the garment. The manager gave me his card to follow up if needed and another glass of wine to compensate for the one that had spilled accidentally. Outstanding food, ambiance and service.

I live in the neighborhood and I’m a big fan of italian food. Hence, Piccino has been on my list for some time now. Me and my partner went there for our date night and we loved our experience. The manager/owner was very friendly! We asked for his opinion on the cocktails and he recommended one for me and even offered to exchange it in case I don’t like it! Ofcourse I ended up loving my cocktail but these little gestures go a long way in making an impression on me as a guest. Now, the food - we ordered the focaccia bread, burrata pugliese, and roasted squash and cauliflower salad from the starters and each of the dish was unique and delicious. For entree, I ordered meatballs (the large portion) and my fiance ordered the ravioli ricotta pasta. Both were 🔥. If I’m being honest, those meatballs were so good that even though my stomach was full, my desires weren’t. I could literally swim in that tomato sauce. Anyway, let’s move on to the desert, which we ordered because why wouldn’t you?! We ordered the warm spice cake and boy was it amazing. But they surprised is with an additional desert! Mini donuts with poweder sugar with some jelly. We didn’t account for that so we couldn’t eat it so we took it to go. Again, thank you for that! With that, I can confidently say this is one of my favorite spots in SF and I’ll be coming back again soon! If you haven’t been and are debating if you should go here or not, I hope my review has persuaded you enough to go to this place and order yourself some meatballs!

Great Italian dinner spot. Lots of good drink choices. Focaccia was perfect. Servers were attentive. Outdoor seating was comfortable.

One of the best meals (and best dining experience) in recent memory. Highly recommend everything! Would return for the food alone but the top notch service really makes this memorable. [Edit to add here: while writing this review, a member of our party texted the group. They woke up thinking about last night's dinner] I'm writing this because it was so delicious that I had a mid-meal realization that all of the dishes were superb. For food, we had the olives and bread, a salad, and the Brussels (table of 4 shared everything). First pic attached is the totally empty brussel sprout bowl. Perfectly cooked, with an intriguingly sweet (but not cloying) sauce that had a light soy sauce element to it maybe? Idk. Phenomenal. Go here just for the Brussels sprouts! Our pizza was the sausage one. Damn near perfect pie. Really well executed ingredients, with sweet and pickle flavors playing together on top of a nice thin and crispy pizza. No notes. I wanted another one. The pastas are all made in house. We got the bolognese and "the one with a bunch of "C's" (idk, sausage and kale). Again, perfectly executed. Nice pasta thickness, perfectly al dente, and with the ideal mix of sauce-ingredients-pasta ratio. We finished with the donuts which we also dreamt. AND one last round of coffee based drinks and a cocktail. One more final bonus point: We came in after 8 and were told that it would be 20 minutes, and that we should wait in the attached bar area. We had left our number so were surprised when someone approached us to give us a verbal 5 minute warning that our table was ready. Major points in my book, this allowed us time to pace our drinking (mostly just had the one and carried it over, but really thoughtful service).

Love the vibe of this place! I sat right in front of the open kitchen, where you can watch your food being prepared—it adds so much to the experience. The pasta and appetizers were fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. My favorite part, though, was the dessert. The gianduia was a perfect balance of flavors: sweet ice cream coated in chocolate, a touch of bitter dark chocolate drizzle, a salty caramel-like shard, and a tangy passion fruit drizzle that tied it all together. Absolutely divine!

I loooove Piccino! I’d consider it a spot locals know about, but not tourists and that’s one of the reasons it’s so great! It’s one of my favorite restaurants in the city — fancy enough for a special occasion, but also casual enough to drop by unplanned. Ambience that feels both classy and welcoming :) The dishes are always flavorful and seasonal. Pastas are sublime. Great drinks and wine as well!

My wife and I find ourselves here more often than we would like to admit. In our many visits, we had not left a review. The cocktails are very creative and balanced. All the dishes are consistently well-made. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I highly recommend the season salads and their pizza. My personal favorite pizza is the Bianca but this last time we tried the Coachella corn. To end, my wife and I shared the lemon cake. Our server Roberto was very attentive and friendly.

A Modern Italian-Californian wonderful find in the Dogpatch neighborhood! The place is a lot bigger and classier than expected from the outside. We sat at the chef's counter to see all the action and to see and smell all the delicious foods we didn't get the chance to order this time. Everything was amazing including the cocktails and wine selections. The Burrata salad to start was very delicious and they were even able to accommodate my allergy by leaving out one of the ingredients! The charred leaks pasta dish with dungeness crab was one of the best pasta dishes we've ever had and takes me back to Italy with how good the pasta was. The meat course with Duck breast was also amazing and we ate every last bit of vegetable, sauce, and garnish on the plate. And we couldn't resist dessert - the lemon pudding cake with mascarpone was a perfect sweet and to the meal. Definitely recommend and we'll have to come back next time to get the pizzas too!

I already cannot wait to come back! I got there at 5 on a weeknight w/ no reservation and there was plenty of availability to snag a spot. I sat at the chef's counter and enjoyed watching the team prepare meals as I enjoyed a beautiful corn pasta dish that tasted very homemade and delicious. Diverse menu and wine selections. Next time I'll make a reservation as I know it gets busier later in the day, but this is a great spot to have a nice dinner whether for 2 at the chef's counter or to book a bigger table for a group. I've heard they also do nice private events so will keep that in mind, too.

Piccino is an absolute gem. The food is incredible, the cocktails are phenomenal, the service is on point, and the atmosphere is really warm and cozy. There’s nothing on the menu that won’t make you exhale deeply. And if you’re thinking olives aren’t a big deal try them I swear they must be covered in dopamine, they’re ridiculous. If you have the opportunity, I recommend sitting at the chef’s counter. Something magical about watching the kitchen staff work, building that anticipation, and then the payoff when the plate lands in front of you. Absolutely worth the trip.

This little neighborhood spot feels warm and welcoming. You can stop by the cafe and get a scone (get the ginger one) and cappuccino or go in on a Saturday or Sunday and devour their bread pudding for brunch. You won’t regret either ☺️

Love the open kitchen! Everything was good but not exceptional. Got the brocco pizza, squash pasta, seasonal salad and focaccia. Pizza was the highlight, pasta was great but too much oil. Price is okay Would come back to try seasonal items, food is on the heavier side

Great atmosphere and service. Seems like a good neighborhood spot to come with friends and family. There are tweaks in each dish that make them stand out - the chicken sandwich uses 2 thinly sliced chicken cutlets vs 1 thick one, the pickle is milder than most with a rhubarb (I think?) accent, well done wedge fries, and lemon zest on the pork sausage pizza. Would’ve given 5 stars if these tweaks were my style, but nonetheless they were all exceptional quality, unique and delicious. A few things that I didn’t enjoy were the overly gooey center of the French toast, overly oily foccacia, and the $14 Pilsner. First time trying an aggressively hoppy Pilsner but apparently that’s the Czech/west coast brewing way - you learn something every day 🙂

Lovely neighborhood atmosphere and vibe. Nice indoor seating with warm, friendly decor. Separate beautiful bar area - welcoming. Outdoor seating with heat lamps - we almost brought our dogs. Cocktails and appetizers were the highlights for us. Good pizza's although the garlic on the funghi's was a bit on the raw/flavorful side. The persimmon and arugula was quite good. Pasta quality in bolognese was delicious. They didn't have the pork chop which was a bummer as we were looking for something a little less carby. Our take: great neighborhood restaurant, great service, and as slightly carb conscious folks - appetizers and cocktails are what we'd come back for (yeah, cocktails are worth the carbs when you're with company)

Piccino is the “trending “ restaurant in the Presidio. It’s fully booked all the time. It has outside patio tables and indoor dining. It’s basic in decor and doesn’t have much atmosphere to the place. Olives were very nicely done. Tasty and delicious. Artichoke salad was delicious and delicate. Fish was cooked beautifully with crispy skin. Overall a good dining experience. Service was excellent. This restaurant is worth the buzz.

My wife and I enjoyed a meal here the other night. Service was very friendly and accommodating. The food was fun and different and very tasty. One pasta dish was undercooked in my view. Overall, we had a lovely time but feel maybe at over 200 dollars we paid a high amount. Unfortunately, this restaurant uses a 6% "sf mandate" fee rather than implement this through their menu item prices. Overall, we had a pleasant evening here and may return for lunch.

Good place with an modern chic ambiance. The best for brunch and dinner, but the reservation is paid. I like the indoor seating more. Food is Italian casual, nothing too fancy, but the quality of components is good and chief knows his craft. The service was fast and friendly, we definitely had good time at this place. The only thing that made me put 4 stars is super small dessert menu (just couple of options)

Nice brunch spot in the Dogpatch. A little overpriced but food tastes good overall We got a few dishes to share and it ended up being $40 per person. They also charge a 5% surcharge. When booking it’s either outdoor patio or communal table (indoors). We sat indoors and felt fine when there was a couple beside us since there was a good amount of space between us despite being at the same table. Food that we got Banana muffin w/ maple butter - probably my least favourite that we got. It’s very small and the banana taste is not very strong Short rib hash - good blend of seasonal veggies that elevated the taste of the dish Soft scramble - the winter squash really added to the taste and texture of this simple dish. Potatoes are well fried Funghi pizza - very delicious and mushroom-y French toast - not as heavy or sweet as the typical French toast which I like. Flavours are well balanced

I recently revisited Piccino after a couple of years, and it appears time has decided to play a rather cruel trick on its "edge." While the service remains commendably great, the food has achieved a remarkable level of… averageness. My taste buds, anticipating a thrilling reunion, instead found themselves in a rather polite, uninspired conversation. As for the reception, I believe the greeter was operating under the impression that "welcoming" was an ancient, forgotten art form. Their demeanor was so uninviting, it almost convinced me I'd stumbled into an exclusive "Customers Not Really Welcome" club. Despite this warm embrace, we optimistically sat down, only to later discover our appetites were as unfulfilled as our hopes for a pleasant greeting. Farewell, Piccino, it's been... an experience.

Was an OK experience at best. Portions super small for the price - the smallest meatballs I have ever eaten. Pasta was over-cooked, acidic and soaked in water/sauce, also just a cup for 30+ dollars. WOW…The mushroom pizza was decent and the only thing worth remembering. Drinks also very expensive. Decor and ambience very average. Cannot understand why this restaurant demands such high prices and receives praise.

Went on a Thursday night with a reservation. All fluff no substance, average food. Pretentious vibe. Expensive for the mid-tier flavors. Food looks prettier than it tastes. Broccoli pasta loaded with lemon/citrus, inedible. Wish we'd sent it back. Other meat pasta was decent but nothing wow. Funghi pizza was the only decent thing I'd get (if i was forced to go in a group setting, not by myself). Wine was fine.
