This was the BEST chinese food, hands down, that my husband or I have ever had. It was delicious and during our 5 days in SF, we ended up going there twice because it was that GOOD!!!
MY GO TO CHINESE PLACE!!! Absolutely amazing. Food was great service was top notch. It is small enough that its never really crowded so you could say it's a diamond in the rough. I reccomend the Fried Rice and Orange Chicken with any of there fine Tea's :)
Nice, cosy joint with good, hearty Chinese food that tasted like home. Great service and lovely folks running the place. The sweet & sour pork was superb and sometimes, that’s all that matters! 😝
Located in the heart of San Francisco's China Town, Snow Garden has been my small mom & pop restaurant that I have taken all my visiting friends and family to. The food is made fresh and although sometimes the staff's English is broken I know we are about to get authentic food!
Small place and cash only. We found it delicious and very tasty. We were looking for some Chinese restaurant after the Chinese parade with 4 kids and this place was a great way to close the new year celebration! Recomended. Kids friendly too.
This food was absolutely amazing! I had Kung Pao shrimp, my wife had cashew chicken! It was bomb diggity!! The shrimp was to die for... reminded of a child in Chicago getting shrimp out of the White boxed/Togo Chinese food. Highly recommended and will come here again.
Food was so delicious. Got the pork wonton noodle soup, potstickers, and Mongolian beef. All of it was delicious but the pork wonton soup was AMAZING.
When we discovered this place we were attracted by live crabs in window over 27 years ago. We came from South Bay. I never thought my oldest son now lives and works in SF as a deputy sheriff. We tried to find Chinese food near our house as good as this place but always unsuccessful. Thanks Tony and Penny for being the best hostess on earth. The pork fried rice is so good we often battle over it. My daughter Salah and I have to be careful not to go there starving because we both have priors for biting our own tongues trying to wolf Down the rice🤪 so good!!! They stopped exhibiting the live crabs many years ago but we always still look forward to eating there when in SF. Thanks Snow Garden from Ezra and Esther and family.
This is THE BEST Chinese food i’ve ever ate. The prices are great and the quality is top-notch. The service is amazing. Don’t miss this gem.
Wow! The most delicious tasting Asian food I have ever eaten! Service was outstanding and food was out of this world delicious. I would highly recommended this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious food!
I always go to this restaurant when I go to Chinatown because I know the food will always be spot-on. It’s delicious! It’s quality . They know what they’re doing. I wish I can eat here everyday.
Very good food!! Not overpriced!! I definitely recommend eating here. Just remember where you are! It's very small with limited seating and tables so try to be patient with the host! They have wonderful service and try very hard to make you happy...so be nice when visiting!!!
Wow wow wow. The best Chinese I’ve had in years! Everything was so good! The staff is awesome. Do not skip this place!
Small place, great chinese food, feels family-owned. Cash only.
The best eggrolls I ever had. Nice and flaky, flavorful. The pork fried rice was fresh and delicious!! They even have beer, and let me charge my phone! Nice lady and props to the chef! We will be back for more
Food is amazing! Great portions :) my kids loved the food, my parents too. Highly recommended. You get hot black tea, really good. The sweet and sour soup is for 6 people lol
Delicious Chinese Food in town. We ordered Chaw Mien beef and chicken, both dishes were tasty. Even though we needed to wait for few minutes until the food arrived, the waiting was worth it. Moreover, the price was affordable. The resto was clean and there was a toilet for customers. I liked the chili sauce because it wasn't too spicy and a little bit sour.
The waiter is so nice, we ordered general chicken, bbq pork fried rice, and chicken soup and they’re all so good! Definitely worth it!
Probably the best chinese meal we had in Chinatown. Good thing the place was empty when we got there for a late lunch, because then it got a bit crowded (and it was St Patrick Day, so the volume got up real quick…). Anyway, the location looks really old and “cozy” and this means two things: it has a really authentic vibe and it’s pretty dirty. Like, the chairs had some oil stains on the cushions and overall the place doesn’t look so great. The kitchen in sight (as well as some nude pipes on the ceiling) is pretty cool, cause you can see the kind old ladies at work. But I mean, again, everything is so real that we really didn’t mind. Of course the main thing is the food, and that was awesome. We took some fried pot sticks (simply addictive) and some noodles with vegetables. Everything was great and served with hot white tea. The lady who took our order was quiet and kind and the experience has been overall pretty great. The lunch was also cheap, about 20 dollars, but we didn’t have so much food because of our late breakfast.
Really great food. Don’t be fooled by the exterior, and it’s easy to miss this hole in the wall. This restaurant is a super authentic and offers HUGE portions of food. Debatably one of the last spots in SF where you can get a decent sized meal without having to spend $$$. I definitely recommend trying out the house specials here, the general chicken and Westlake soup are some of my favorites.
Its been almost 3 years since I ate here on a trip, and I still dream on that delicious chicken curry. It was mouth-watering, it had the exact amount of spicy. The restaurant it's very small, they have at most 5 tables. Once you have a sit and hand you the menu the waiter also brings you a teapot with hot tea and some cups for free. The amount of food was much more than we expected, we actually bought 3 plates but at the end we couldn't eat the third. I hope some day I go back to San Francisco just to eat here!
While in Chinatown San Francisco, stoped here for Chinese food. I made a great choice. Staff was nice, ambience is what you would expect at a Chinese restaurant. And food was good and tasty. I totally recommend.
Been visiting a few years now. Cash only, small family run Chinese restaurant at Grant Ave. near Sacramento St. I always order Mongolian Beef with steamed rice, and it's always spicy good. Open Thu-Sun 11:30-6:30. Always a pleasant repast on my San Francisco mystery trips.
My sister and I ordered chicken/shrimp fries rice and they served it with Jasmine tea which was equally amazing. The waiter was a nice gentleman. Will go back there whenever I'm in town.
Definitely worth it 👌😋 Delicious They gave you nice tea as soon as you arrive as a welcome ( free) The Waiter was kind and efficient Food arrived quick and perfectly cooked Decoration is old and needs improvement But food was absolutely amazing 😍
Walked in without knowing anything about this place and it was a great bowl of traditional Chinese Canto Style Wonton noodle soup. Very authentic taste. Restroom available for customers. Street photographer from NYC

We were in San Francisco and asked AI to point us toward authentic Chinese food good for newbies—Snow Garden came up, and we’re so glad it did! We stopped in around 4:45pm on a Friday, and while the restaurant was quiet, the server was sweet and welcoming. We grabbed takeout and were blown away by how fresh everything tasted. We ordered chicken & broccoli, sweet & sour chicken, chicken fried rice, and mixed vegetables. The dishes were flavorful, noticeably less oily, and even the fried items tasted lighter than what we’re used to back home. It’s clearly an authentic spot, but still totally approachable and perfect for newbies who might feel overwhelmed trying something new in Chinatown. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely come back next time we’re in Chinatown!
A really great find in Chinatown. I grabbed carry-out and got the chicken and vegetables. It was just fantastic food. You could tell the quality was high—the chicken was very good and the vegetables were crisp and fresh. Plus, the service was so fast and friendly. A great experience all around. I'll be back for sure!
Omg the vegetable egg roll reminds me of my favorite Chinese restaurant in Detroit,MI. The food is very presentable. I had sesame chicken with veggie rice and mushroom soup. Everything was good.
We were hungry tourists in Chinatown, and stumbled across this place. When we walked in, there was only one empty table and all the other diners in the restaurant were Asian. I took that as a good sign. We were not disappointed. Service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious.

I have become a recent regular here and I think it is great! My favorite chinese dishes are Mongolian Beef and Won Ton soup. I have been looking all over the city for a place that does these well and I found it! Prices are very reasonable as well. Lunch specials are between $7.50 and 9.50 and have huge portions. Great value for your money. A lot of chinese restaurants serve frozen potstickers. Not here! They are made fresh and are huge. Like 3X bigger than you usually get. Snow Garden is definitely worth stopping by.
Good, traditional chinese food in the heart of china town. Huge portions and decent prices. Very small place and older interior but food was surprisingly fresh and had good flavor. Not very crowded so service was quick. Sweet and sour chicken was great. Sauce had a hint of sweetness to it. Egg rolls filled full of goodies. Dumplings a tad overdone for my taste. Definitely a good try.
The only accept cash as a payment metod. Its a small restaurant. We tried lunch specials that are served until 3pm. Mongolian beef with rice and Chicken chow mein were very good. Wonton soup lacks some seasoning. Server was nice and attentive.

The Mongolia beef had some inedible fat chunks, however the sauce was delicious. Service was fast and the gentleman serving was very nice. Bring cash because they don't accept credit cards.
Good, solid authentic Chinese food here. I like this place because the meat is lean and the fried dishes aren't super-fatty-overly fried like a lot of other Chinese restaurants. The rice is nice and sticky like it should be. Good selection of beers too. Don't expect too much ambiance. The white fluorescent lights are blindingly bright when you step in at night. The place has more of a cafeteria feel than a restaurant.
we went in and it took 20 minutes before we even got a menu, The food was ok, but it got cold quickly. In the local itself it was drafty and sooo cold and they weren't really friendly In my opinion too expensive for what you get.
The worst food ever. I had seafood noodle. The ingredients were not fresh. Especially seafood had strange smell so i almost couldn't eat. Also sanitation was terrible. Floor was of course dirty. They wipe the table with A duster which seems used more than a hundred time. I almost puked when they wipe my table with that trash like duster.
The food was good BUT: There was hair in our food. They simply charge a service fee with no option to tip a custom amount. It was cold and windy inside. Don't fall for the 'local' charm.

Beware of the Chinese waitress with curly hair, demanded a tip, confused me by saying that they impose a mandatory 18% tip and returned me the wrong change even after I was arm twisted into agreeing to the 18% tip. AVOID AT ALL COST!
The hall was cold and the wind was blowing. The interior is old, the ceilings are dirty and sagging from moisture. We waited 30 minutes for our order of fried rice. The portion was not large. At the end they added a service charge to the check. I was dissatisfied with the service and asked them to remove this charge from the check. The waiter refused to do so and was very angry and not satisfied. Do not go to this restaurant! It was a horrible experience and a ruined evening.
They don't treat you equal and they charge 18% automatically and you can't change how much you want to tip them. Won't be coming here again.
