Been in the bay area since 2018 but mostly North bay and I always talk trash about the Mexican food in the bay and it being mediocre. This restaurant has restored my faith in good Mexican food in Sf. I’m normally a Torta guy 😉 but being hung over I got a shrimp cocktail and two carne asada tacos. The tacos got to my table in no time and had the cutest presentation along with the chips. But cuteness aside they were delicious. Tons of flavor and the salsa with the chips was on point. My shrimp Cocktail was fresh and delicious and brought me back to life. Had a cold coke in a glass bottle to wash it down and before I realized it I had a little knee bob going on. That food gave me some pep in my step. Haha My only complaint is don’t come in extremely hung over and dine in as theres a pool table thats kinda loud. But all good!

2025 update: Today's lunch was a steak fajitas plate $18 and chips & salsa $2.50. This was OK. Taqueria Mi Sazon is a solid place for lunch as it is never busy here. The chef is fast. Plenty of table available. Although, a group of five high school aged teenagers with their school backpacks appeared. They seem to know the young waiter. Shouldn't they be in school? It is cool how they let the teenagers cutting class hang out, playing pool. Good times. Service was fine. No water refills though. Updated review 10/20/2021: Birria tacos are still excellent. They are very cheesy with plenty of beef! Original review 10/6/2021: For lunch, I had two beef quesabirrias ($9.50) and a super beef taco($4.25.) The quesabirrias came with a red soup to dip the quesabirrias in. The quesabirrias were meaty with a bit of cheese on the bottom. The food here is very good. Ultimately, I was so impressed, I ordered four beef tacos dorados ($10) and a super beef torda ($9.75) for to-go. There wasn't a need to look for food later because this place was pretty good.

Such a great experience. Everything was prepared with patience and Very fresh. I love the Homemade/handmade tortillas made right there on the spot. This is the best and freshest Mexican food that I have found in San Francisco.

We just discovered this little gem recently and have been blown away by the quality of the food! The quesadilla Suiza was perfectly cheesy and meaty - not greasy like most places. The enchiladas are super tasty and come with carrots little papas and cotija cheese! Tonight we went back and ordered the carne asada and chorizo plate and wow!! Homemade chorizo not greasy at all and flavored to the max. We also go the flan and it was like abuelitas but better! Can’t wait to try the next plate, I know we won’t be disappointed

This place is extremely CLEAN and VERY organized. The manager has high standards and if you go there you'll see it reflected in the quality food and how all things are arranged. I admire this level of cleanliness and attention to detail that is rare in restaurants. A really high quality place.

The chicken fajitas were pretty good. The rice that came with it was to soft! Bu, the chicken and vegetables were seasoned just enough.

Fast service, the place is clean, food is good, most plates have ample servings and are not over-seasoned. Stock comfort food…

My friend recommended this place for cheap burritos when I was in the area. I got the super burrito with steak and it was everything i wanted. A big burrito for cheap. Also came with tortilla chips which was awesome. I was full and that's what you will be if you buy one of their burritos. I was looking at the oysters and it looked really good too. I probably will come back some day for oysters.

Place is right by my house. Not the best, but not horrible. If you want better, taqueria Guadalajara is not too far away. I come here mainly for their burritos.

overpriced and hair in food

Horrible service....called to place an order and a man answered in Spanish, I asked if he spoke English (I don’t speak Spanish) he began demanding an apology, was VERY RUDE. I will never go here again EVER!!!! Not all of their customers are Hispanic and better customer service is needed...guess if you don’t speak Spanish you are not good enough to order their food.

I ordered a wet burrito to go, got a half a block away and it had seeped through the paper bag they gave me. I went back to ask for a new bag and they asked for 27 cents. I didn't have any cash and I wasn't about to use my card for a 27 cent bag. So I left with a soaked container and no bag. Horrible customer service. Gringo-ed.
