Definitely good vietnamese place and also good for quick bite. If you like noodles -- it worth checking. They have free sauces and friendly personal.
I have been to a lot of VIETNAMESE restaurants, this one by far, has the best soup, thick-sweet-long noodle, and the service is great. On the menu #1or #2. ")
The best Pho I ever had. The soup was delicious. The lady (who seems to be the boss) was very friendly.
OMG...JUST GO HERE!!! F-ing amazing Phó. The woman who runs the show is a no bullshit soup slinger. If you're not sure what to get she'll set you straight.
vietnamese food and the setting here is super good. two thumbs up for this place. i will be bringing family next time.
The best Vietnamese pho in town ; consistently delicious.
8/4/22 - Stopped by this pho place, for the first time, ordered a large veggie noodle soup. All good. Far from a fancy place, nor cheap, $15 for a large bowl. 10 min into chowing it down, store mom walked over with a small bowl of veggies and said--more for you, and she just dumped it all in my big bowl and walked away. Thats love, you just can't get more family than that.
The only place in the world that knows how to cook the authentic North Vietnamese Pho. And yes, I've been everywhere. A couple other dishes are special too, the crispy Pho Ap Chao and the banana brule (the caramelized banana burned in rum).
Great pho. What else do you need
It is a bit of an exaggeration to say this hole in the wall restaurant on a busy corner in downtown San Jose CA with barely any parking a 5-star dining experience, but I am rating the food here excellent. I really like this place. The cold spring rolls, goi cuon, are excellent along with the sauce. The pho Vietnamese soup is the best I have tasted anywhere, especially the #2. The Vietnamese drip iced coffee is deliciously tasty and refreshing. Dac Phus'c service is actually improving, but I would love not have to "stand and deliver" at the cashier and instead pay from my table. While the building itself looks cool, clean and modern from outside, the inside needs some attention, still it has a certain distressed charm. Nevertheless, this place is my go to place for Vietnamese food which I love and I drive the 30 minutes or so it takes to get there where I can to enjoy my favorite pho/soup. Dac Phuc has existed since the 1980's when I was a SJSU student, and there is a solid reason for its longevity, it is great. I think ingredients have suffered lately because of the skyrocketing costs for rent in the area but Dac Phuc''s pho and basil is really tasty good, the best. Someday I will have to ask where did they get such a crazy name? Oh, and I would be remiss if I did not mention the unpleasant restroom. I really should take a star or two off for that ... it is a disgrace. Take a hint Dac Phuc and do a remodel of your restroom please!
Nice little hole in the wall spot. I recommend the Bahn Cuon. It was really tasty and the texture of the rolls were perfect.
Legit Pho spot. Exactly what I was lookimg for. Can't go wrong with the beef brisket pho.
Take the 68 bus to Almaden Ave in San Jose and walk right in. The restaurant will keep you comfortable with hot tea and smiles. I ordered pho with pork and shrimp. -wendy quantumtalk bee #quantumtalkbee🐝 Universal Newspaper #quantumtalkbfo🐝 Food
Good place for a quick bite as long as your order soup. We ordered and the food was out in less than 3 minutes. The Pho was great.
Pho is the best! The pho here is rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced — you can taste the care in every bowl. The broth is aromatic, the noodles are just right, and the fresh herbs make each bite refreshing. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming. Easily one of the best pho spots in town!
Perfect lunch stop on our way to Monterey Bay! My partner recommended the place and said it was great years ago and it is still great to this day! The pho was super tasty and the broth was very rich. The Vietnamese coffee kept me awake all day. The lemonade never arrived but they were super friendly and nice and took it off the bill. I’ll stop here again if we are driving past San Jose. Omg now I want pho now.
I got a chance to have a lunch in Dac Phuc. Ms Loi, the owner is nice. Pho is okay, but I think the best is “fire banana”. Must try.
I absolutely love Dac Phuc. I've been looking for a pho place that is up in San Francisco that can hold a candle to this place for ages and I've not found the contender just yet. The broth is crazy flavorful and not too heavy on the star anise, which I prefer. Plus the noodles are never overcooked and the service is warm and friendly.
It's one of the go to places to and best place eat pho. Local vietnamese knows this is the best pho in SJ. Homemade family recipe handed down generations. Have to try their Beef Cripsy noodles..and rare beef pho.
The best thing to cure a hangover. Cool little spot. Food came out fast, soup was excellent. The spicy sauce is actually spicy!!
Don’t sleep on this gem 💎💎💎 This spot is a truly wonderful place for a quick lunch. The restaurant is family owned and has been open for decades. The food is fresh, quick and extremely tasty. Yes, the pho is delicious, but be sure to also try the bo bun, beef and bamboo shoots, fresh spring rolls or the lemongrass chicken or beef. DO NOT skip the iced coffee - it is the best I have ever had! The staff will remeber your name if you visit more than once or twice and will take excellent care of you. Honestly, if you manage to have a bad experience here, I can confidently say you’re not a good person. Monique, her brother and the rest of the family are here to provide delicious Vietnamese dishes and are incredibly kind and caring. Please support this local and family run business!
Authentic menu, great for a quick lunch in town. Good cost/benefit lunch.
Awesome tasty and quick! Definitely going here again

Authentic menu, great for a quick lunch in town. Good cost/benefit lunch.
Food was good, especially Pho, the server is attentive and nice, atmostphere was quiet, good place for family, will come back!!!
Excellent surprise in San Jose: an authentic vietnamese restaurant held by a friendly family. The Pho soup is definitely the best in town, generous, with fresh herbs and soybean sprouts. Became my favorite lunch place during my stay in San Jose.
Best Pho spot you will find here. Little hole in the wall spot that I’ve been going to for over 20 years. Definitely recommend anyone looking for authentic Northern style Pho. I say this with confidence that it will surpass any other spot you’ve tried. Vinh, the owner, very friendly face and very accommodating, always treating all his customers the best. You gotta come by and check it out! You will not be disappointed!!
When you go to get New York pizza - IN New York you don’t go to the glitzy place. You go to the place that looks aged, but has been there “pho’r” a long time you know you hit the jackpot. 45+ years they’ve been in business…no MSG in their soup. That is what you want! I had the Pho with steak and brisket (1.B.) and it was fantastic. Good flavor, tender meat, crunchy veggies. It could probably cure a cold or an STD. But let’s be real, only a good matzah ball soup from grandma can fix that, ha! Kudos to the family at Dac Phuc for keeping it real…really good!
Best pho I ever had! I love the home style restaurant with quiet atmosphere! They even offer everyone hot tea instead of tap water! The soup is very tasty, not too salty or light, the meat is very fresh, just try it once and you will love it!

Best fried pho in the bay, and amazing house made hot sauce. Only complaint was that the sauce was a little too goopy / corn starchy this time.
The soup for pho is good. There is private parking in the back, but you need to get the remote from the store to get in.
I consider this the best "pho" place in San Jose. It is short on service and atmosphere but the food is worth my trip every time.
A really hole in the wall Vietnamese place with delicious food. The pho was of high quality and so were the ingredients. Loved the fact that there was a gokd amount of meat in it too, too many times restaurants don't add enough. Fast service and good prices. Great place for lunch.
Quick service after 1:00pm. Am used to paying 30% less for pho. Would be 5 stars otherwise. That said, the pho is fabulous. Am so impressed the depth of flavor in the broth. You can't go wrong with excellent broth as a base. Brisket and tripe are great, sprouts and basil are fresh. Modest decor but clean. Worth your trip!
I come here for the pho since the early 90s, and not for the decor. The restaurant could use a good cleaning as well. But the pho is one of my favorites. Broth is clear and not sweet like other pho places. I am Vietnamese and I think it's more authentic. My wife and friends who are not Vietnamese prefer the sweeter broth at other places. My dad said this is a northern Vietnam style of pho so the broth should taste different than the the southern style, not sure if it's true? BTW, the homemade hot sauce is fantastic. I wish they would bottle and sell this. Minus one star for cleanliness issues, especially the bathroom.
The $12 vermicelli was overcooked (slightly mushy) but would go back to try again. Another spring roll (got 1) and more meat with the vermicelli would have been better. Service was okay. Price was good given the location and quality.
I really enjoyed their stir fry sitting on top of crispy noodles. The flavor was hearty and lightly salted. The vegetables taste better than the meat. The noodles never got too soggy either.

Pretty classic pho experience with leaner meat
The vintage decor gives off a charming local vibe. The food tastes different from typical Vietnamese restaurants—it's unique and delicious.

Soup was bland, service was subpar, bathroom was sketch, beef was good. Went around ~3pm on a weekday so maybe they didn't have their best foot forward...
The food was super slow and our waiter waited until 20 mins after we ordered to tell us they ran out of rice for one of our orders. Then it took another 15 minutes for our food to come. By the time our food came, we had 10 minutes to eat before they closed!
The broth was very cloudy, which ruins its subtle, clear, hearty flavor. What’s the point in buying pho if not for the broth? I might as well get udon or some other noodle soup.
Outdoor paint by the wall looks great and modern that's why we decided to try it when we walked by. However inside was outdated, looks like street style shack back in vietnam. Pricing is OK, bowl comes in 2 sizes small& large. We decided to order # 1 brisket with add on beef balls for both bowls. My partner got complete order however mine was missing beef ball , i told the male server then a lady came in by our table and decided to scoop out my bowl with her spoon searching for the "beef ball" that wasn't there. I was disgusted and lost my appetite . Find it very appropriate to just scoop out someone else's food esp paying customers. Nothing special on the pho was quite basic.
It’s a shame. I really wanted to like this place, but the pho was just not good. Very shallow broth, missing all the characteristic pho spices like anise. Not much more depth than salt water. The menu selection was limited compared to almost any pho place you’ll find; they didn’t even have tendon. Prices were as expected for this part of town.
They didn’t get my order right, and it looked like someone had already eaten some of my food when I opened it. The guys in the front were rude as well. The food itself was good but it wasn’t a good experience especially paying $20 for this.

Would rate zero if I can. Pho has no flavors. Store out of everything for some reason. Compared to sacramento pho this pho place is awful.
I got the large pho. It would have been considered a kids size at most other pho restaurants. The soup was clearly instant beef powder with no spices at all and no depth of flavor. Add the taste of downtown San Jose water and you get a hard salty lukewarm soup.
Honestly please go somewhere else to go eat pho! It’s San José you can find such better pho down the street. My party couldn’t even stomach the pho broth, we got beef and vegetarian. My party unfortunately had to spit out their food after one - two bites. As we got up to pay we got really rude service and judgment from the restaurant. Like wow we are still paying for the food we are not going to eat because we respect the hustle but the way y’all communicated with us was not right. I didnt have to do this review but with the way things ended please save your time and go discover better pho in San José!
It is worst I have ever eat. Noodle is not fresh. I saw the chef eat the food when cooking in the kitchen.Bad service. I order the noodle which price on the menu is 10.50 but they charge me 12.00 plus tax when I pay. Never come back!
Food was not very tasty Service was worse. Very rude when I asked for a water refill Stay away, there are way better pho spots elsewhere
