Opinions de MoonBeans San Jose
I usually look for these independent coffee shops to try out and this one did NOT disappoint. Very prompt service, as they started working on my latte as I was ordering it! And the triple latte was just the way I like it, we'll balanced yet strong. It would have been awesome seeing the roaster at work.
$ 5 for the best thai tea! I got a medium and it was done in seconds by the sweetest lady behind the counter. And wonderful atmosphere! I was sad I couldn’t stay to drink it and was in a rush!!
The first time, I decided to get coffee from MoonBean which was back in September. I ordered a medium iced Cinnamon Roll. And, that one was good. I came back a few days later and got a large iced Major Tom. That one was pretty good too. I got a large iced Milky Way which was good as well. My two favorites are Major Tom and Milky Way (iced instead of hot). I always want to try new coffee shops, MoonBean's Coffee being one of them. They are one of my favorite coffee shops.
MoonBean's Coffee is located at the main entrance of the mall in the South Bay area. It is easy to get to and you can always park your car at the mall. The place is relaxed, the staff is always polite and depending on the time there is always a line outside. The coffee shop has great hot and cold coffees and great snacks. The place is always clean and very pleasant. I recommend it!
I like this place for its coziness and kindness. The Mexican Mocha with oat milk I ordered was extremely delicious. A wide selection of beans will not leave coffee enthusiasts indifferent. I will definitely come back here ❤️
The first thing you notice when you walk in is the in-house roaster, and it immediately sets the best vibes. The store is cute and fairly small but has plenty of seating and was very clean! We were immediately greeted, and the staff members were all very kind and efficient at their jobs. Both the coffee and the bagels were incredible. Highly recommended! I make a point in my reviews to rate the LGBTQ+ friendliness of establishments. My partner and I felt welcome and safe in this store!
Moonbeam is my go-to for a special latte. It's the only shop i've found that has dark chocolate on the menu. The Lechprichan latte is offered in dark or light chocolate- it's great as a weekly treat. Lots of other options including the Major Tom Latte (my second fav). It can get busy and a line will form, but the staff is organized and they keep the wait minimal. Limited seating, but I'm there for the latte.
Phenomenal experience. Walked in and wasn't waiting. Staff was friendly/polite and professional. Drinks ☕️ were delicious 😍 The food was good too. I'm just glad to have found a place that isn't starbucks, shesh! Ordered the iced 🧊 thai tea 🍵 with an expresso and loved it! My doggie 🐶 was offered a puppachino, which was lovely. I tried the Leprechaun and was just as described: hint of mint with delicious Ghirardelli white chocolate 🍫 😋 wit'some irish cream latte, ordered for the fiancé ❤️ The Will Clark has great flavors coming from the sausage, especially. Confidently coming back here for more and love the distance from the home. Inside decor was comfortable and unique ✨️ Seating isn't much, but you usually grab 'n go for coffee houses. Snacks/baked goods looked great, too, but gotta watch the weight ⚖️ I Recommend!!
Nice, vibey coffee shop. Baristas are super friendly. Coffee is great. No pets allowed inside, but there is a nice large shady patio with seating. My only suggestion is that they clean / maintain the air intake vents more thoroughly. From the pics, you can see they’re quite dirty.

This place serves incredible coffee. During the summer of 2024, I frequented this place almost every other day. The coffee is reasonably priced, and their unique approach to making Frappuccino-like drinks (called a “freeze”) truly sets them apart. When you order a freeze, it’s almost like a milkshake. The atmosphere is also warm, welcoming, and pleasant. And let’s not forget their physical rewards system: if you accumulate 10 drinks, you get one free. The employees are also incredibly friendly, and the place is family-owned. Starbucks should take notes. Because this place is fire. 10/10 always.
The coffee is consistently excellent, and the vibe is just perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. The barista at the counter is incredibly friendly and welcoming she even helped me customize one of my orders, and it turned out amazing. I’ve also tried several of their specialty coffees, and every single one has been fantastic. Definitely one of my favorite coffee spots!
Ordered a hazelnut iced latte with oat milk and it was exactly what I was craving. I usually get less sweet at places because they overpower the sugar but regular sweet here was just right. They have other flavors that aren’t on the menu too. I like that they have a smaller sized cup option because I can’t drink too much at a time. Would come again!
Beloved locals favorite 'rest stop!' Delicious drinks and 'others.' Their "Mocha Amoré" is divine. I wish their building space could allow for a more spacious and comfortable seating area.
Large Major Tom Freeze! It’s the best drink you will ever taste, seriously. Aside from that the atmosphere is nice and cozy and the service is great. I appreciate the hard working families that run amazing spots like this.

I’ve been coming to Moon Beans for over 10 years now, and I can honestly say I’ve never once been disappointed. Their cinnamon roll latte is my absolute favorite—it’s perfectly sweet, cozy, and always made just right. Over the years, I’ve tried so many different drinks and menu items, and everything has been amazing every single time. The food is just as good as the coffee, and the customer service is always warm and welcoming. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel at home the moment you walk in.
One of the cool coffee shops I’ve been to in a recent time. The ambience was cozy and amazing with a coffee processing setup. They had a big machine to grind coffee and plenty of coffee bag which added a great aesthetic vibe. Their service was friendly and it’s a busy place. The also had plenty of pastries and breakfast sandwiches to go along with the coffee. We got cold rip coffee of the day and zebra mocha latte. The drip coffee is their specialty coffee with optional crème and sugar. The zebra is a white and a dark Ghirardelli chocolate coffee which tasted really good and not too sweet. We also got their lemon poppy muffin and it was fresh and zesty.
Great coffee and good vibe. Went in on a Friday morning and it was quite bustling. Ordered Mediterranean bagel sandwich and drip coffee. Sandwich was just fine but the coffee was great, loved the flavor.
[the coffee] Great local coffee shop, using freshly roasted and grinded coffee beans. I had a flat white and it was on point, nice coffee art, great flavor which was not at all overpowered by the milk (5/5). [Staging] I loved the details in the staging of the café... some sacks of beans, a beautiful custom built coffee roasting machine by the San Franciscan Roaster Co., a wall displaying a variety of beans, digital menu and hanging vintage-looking light bulbs (5/5). [Seating] I think the seating area was a little bit overlooked (3/5). Yet it is good enough for working... the chairs are comfortable and there are plenty of electrical outlets, internet speed is average, not so good for conference calls but you can get some research done and some emails through, I would say a 3/5. There's also an outside seating area. [Food] Over to the snacks and pastries, it looks like a Costco run, with standard cookies and muffins, there's room for improvement. [Service] Very kind staff! I just felt a little uncomfortable as I witnessed the manager complaining to one of her team members. [Parking] The coffee place is inside a shopping area, so yes! There is plenty of space with easy access

Not sure why this is rated high. Cappuccino cup was half coffee and half milk foam. Taste was very generic. Indoor seating is very limited. Pastries were at least a day old. Bagel sandwich was good though.

Nice first impression with the roaster machine and jars of beans. Decor was a bit Instagram-y and cliche with popular coffee theme infographics Coffee (drip of the day) was bad… so bland and watered down. I also didn’t find options to order fresh pour overs which is unusual for a place with seeming so many bean choices on the shelf. Not sure if I missed it from menu. Bagel was ok but nothing special.

Iced drinks are mostly milk. No coffee flavor. For those that understand, you can tell alot about an iced coffee by its color and the drinks are basicslly milk white. I gave this review after my second visit since the "milky way" was a disappointment, I gave them another try bc the drink is called milky and maybe had my expectations wrong. Tried "Major Tom" next, same thing, you're basically paying for iced milk and the service is just ok. This is basically a fancy Starbucks focused mostly on sugary flavors vs actually coffee as far as their iced drinks go.
I live right by this place and have popped in a few times over the years when I was in need of quick caffeine on the go. I’ve never once had a drink I’ve liked and I’m genuinely surprised this place always looks busy. I’ve tried both the espresso and the drip and though it is always consistent, it is consistently bad. I’ve had much better instant coffee and frankly even the big chain places do a significantly better job. A shame to put it in comparison to all the other great independent roasters around the Bay Area. Pick any other spot.
