I want my last meal from here. Oh my god the pulled pork was BUSSIN. I’ve been looking for good pulled pork in this area (honestly, a Kinders lookalike) and this place is IT. The meat isn’t that seasoned to be honest, so the variety of sauces available in person totally make it. I would recommend eating in person for that reason. The seasoned fries were a great choice, I haven’t tried the other sides yet but the seasoned fries were *chef’s kiss*. Ambiance is a quintessential diner, very clean. I’m coming back tomorrow, apparently I need to try the peanut butter pie… Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5
I go here often for takeout and their food is absolutely delicious, but their prices definitely match. The actual in-house seating doesn’t seem the cleanest, which is why I usually takeout. Absolutely recommend their Mac and cheese and brisket, which are their best items imo. The Mac and cheese especially beats out almost any other I’ve had and I buy for leftovers of that stuff too. Definitely a once-in a while but savor it greatly sort of deal
The food over here is amazing! The brisket and spareribs was soo juicy. I loved the bbq beans!! The only thing is the cole slaw was average. It needed a little more salt and maybe some apple cider vinegar for more flavor.
wow, a great no-nonsense Texas BBQ place. slow smoked ribs where the meat falls off the bone, potato salad, cornbread, brisket, four kinds of sauce, and a roll of paper towel on your table. we also got a plate of Wolf Turds as an appetizer: crazy name for three jalapeño peppers, stuffed with sausage and cheese, wrapped in bacon, and roasted. very delicious. we got the large combo ribs with brisket and extra sides. more than enough for two, plus leftovers. Lots of booths, super friendly service, mellow blues music, very laid back in a casual place, with lots of parking.
This place offers it all of your a BBQ fan! The brisket, beans, corn bread and side Cesar salad was my choice today and Carla was my waitress. Very friendly and tentative. If you want Cheap BBQ, don't come here because good BBQ ain't Cheap and and Cheap BBQ ain't good. $40 for the LG brisket plate with mixed fat/lean with the premium side. Worth it!
Good local spot for barbecue in an area not known for barbecue. Traditional selections with moderate serving portions. The food ia always consistent (taste, portion size, etc.) Some of the favorites are the Sammys (sandwiches) and Wolf Turds. I usually order the brisket because it's tender and delicious. Friendly and fast service.
Nice spot, tight parking with overflow on the street. Plenty of room inside. Circa 1964-75 piped in music. The food is beyond amazing!! Fatty brisket and chicken leg qtr all cooked to perfection! Season fries with homemade corn bread all for a fair price considering the price of food these days. Will be bringing friends next time! You should do the same!
The person whom I chose to refer to has hostess/ cashier/ waitress; was super she noticed my pain right away and seated me. She gave me time to review the menu. She patiently and excitedly went over the items and allowed me to choose. The food was sooo good. The greens truly southern style with a kick. I’m just happy not to have sugar in my greens to taste. The cornbread is really slap yo mama style. Want to go and get just cornbread. The ribs are smoked to perfection seasoned and fall of bone. The hot link sausage was a bit spicy for my taste but good no dought.
with a taco stand at every corner and hundreds of other places to choose from today's culinary adventure led me to try the smoking pig. word of mouth and speaking with a few patrons who were eating one of them telling me they come here every other week I knew we made the right choice. the smell of the various BBQ meats was intoxicating coming from the small little shop with blues playing in the background it was perfect the service was second to non and the different BBQ sauce at the table made every bite tasty and savory and phenomenal cannot say enough I highly recommend
Down in San Jose looking for things that I know I won't find, but looking anyway..Well, just because. Saw a Paired Jackra up on flag pole, just sitting there minding his own business. I even kicked a couple of dirt clods over on Nickleback street, and got a nod of support from some old geezer that must've liked the way I kicked um. Got barked at by a chihuahua and stared down by some skateboard kids that'll grow up to be burdens to society. And all that's been going on, I kept smelling BBQ...it changed from ribs to pork butt to brisket..then chicken, then a combination of meats, I kept going in the direction of those wonderful aromas, then all the sudden it was there! The Smoking Pig BBQ! What can you say other than Amazing!
Great spot for BBQ! One of the best BBQ’s in San Jose. The beef brisket was moist & tender and they give you a choice of lean or fatty (or both), which was nice. The Cajun fries are crunchy, but not oily and go really well with the brisket sandwich. They also stock a good selection of beers & ciders including Ace Pineapple 🍍
Amazing experience! The place is very nice and clean, staff is responsive and very polite. The vibes of this place is very active! Most important part I had the best burger ever here! It was so juicy and delicious, it feels like is homemade! I had the smoky pork burger! Highly recommend!! Pulled pork burger it is also delicious!

I recently visited Smoking Pig BBQ Company with my husband and was delicious! Very nicely cooked, the staff was very nice and the portion sizes are more than enough, Highly recomended !
The real deal is Smoking Pig BBQ that features flavors and huge smokers! Let’s begin with the service which was quick, friendly conversation, and overall ok. It was a little interesting walking in you think you would order at the register then we were asked to sit first then someone came to serve us. The atmosphere is rough, rugged, bbq style feel, and diner type of look as well. The restaurant wasn’t as clean as I would like it. You can see the bbq bottles are worn. Now onto the Main Event: the Food! The burnt ends were full flavor and good sauce 8.5/10. The pulled pork could have been warmer but the flavors and seasoning were on point 8/10. Fries were solid as they should be 8.5/10. The bbq chicken was good but could be improved on flavors 6.5/10. The cornbread and butter spread was really good 9/10. Overall this place is worth a try, places that smoke they have long cool times were can hinder flavors an heat depending on when you come so I always suggest multiple meats. Cheers!!!
Place has gone down hill. Food was cold and mediocre. I would definitely not be back.

First off the service person did her thing. She was quick fast and efficient. That's about were it ended . We order our food not but 10min later it's was in the table. You would think that's "great" nope the food was barely room Temperature this location had to space heats to cover a 40×40 square foot room. I guess it was stay open another day or pay the electric bill. The food well let's say it's an acquired taste. If bland and under seasoned is your thing I recommend all the sauces to help. Portions were decent and price was fair. However putting the same award and recognition from 2016 on every wall doesn't make your place look more appealing appealing. In then this is just an opinion
Honest review by a BBQ lover. I came here for lunch at 12pm and got the brisket, pulled pork and pork ribs. I get to BBQ places early in case they sell out of what I want. There was no line, and only a handful of people on a Saturday. Staff were awesome. Very attentive, very nice, great people. Did I eat it all... Yes. Was it good, yes. But I was looking for a Texas style BBQ experience, and this was not it. The brisket was good, not great. A little dryer than desired. A little firmer than you would expect from professional. The bark was not noticeable. A common theme. The pulled pork was much dryer than it should be and the smoke flavor was not present. There was no bark. The pork ribs had no bark as well, much firmer than desired. I'm sure the meat would be much better as a sandwich. That seems to be the #1 seller there. The good stuff was the Mac and cheese which was great. The BBQ sauces were fantastic! Each one has a different flavor. It's a good thing The sauces are so good because they are necessary to accompany the meat. My expectation on great bbq would be not needing the sauce to be flavorful. The corn bread was also well done. No nonsense corn bread is my preference.
Out of the many local BBQ spots in San Jose, they are one of them. Overall they aren't bad but nothing stands out either, it's fine, the mac & cheese was solid however. The pricing is where they aren't a place I would recommend, it's just too high for the food and quality compared to other places nearby.

First thing. We went in on the coldest day and thought let's eat In a nice cozy restaurant. Wrong! It was ice cold inside no heat, so our food was cold within the first 2min brought out to us! The ribs had no seasoning. Just smoke flavor. If weren't for the BBQ sauce and us being so hungry I wouldn't have ate them. The brisket was not soft and juicy like good brisket should be, it was tuff and and also lacked seasoning. The worst brisket ever! The potato salad was definitely store bought right out of that tub from Safeway. It wasn't cheap either. Never going back. We should've left when we felt the cold inside and we saw the waitress with gloves and her jacket on taking orders. 🥶
Their quality has declined significantly lately. Had a dinner with a friend here back in August 2024, and their platter is good for almost 2 people. Nowadays, they not only increased the price but also decreased the quantity. They have now become severely overpriced. Not to mention the pulled pork and sausage they served for me today were cold.
This is a dive!! Avoid this place at all cost. Food was cold, the sauce containers looked 5 years old. The sweet tea was a few days old. The chicken looked like it was cooked a few days ago with its dry crusty burnt skin close to jerky then bbq, but it definitely didn't taste good. The bathroom smelled like a rotten sewer bathroom and the dreaded fumes poured out of the sewer onto the dining area. I honestly believe we heard mice or rats squeaking. The plastic traps out front and on both sides nearly confirmed it, I haven't felt sick yet but this place ruined the night. Id never go to this place ever ever again. Even if the meals were free! Don't think I'll get sick and hope i don't. I leave tons of reviews all over the world, top 10% on google, from hotels to cafes and this was the worst yet. I just can't forget the squeaks or the smell of the bathroom, all the way on the opposite side of the restaurant. Save your pallet for candy and chips at a gas station.
