Got it delivered so I can’t say anything about the actual store but the food was exactly as I expected and have been used to from other locations, solid meal if you’ve never had it before give it a try you can’t go wrong! Be sure to get plenty of the white sauce and some of the red sauce if you like some spice!
Their sauce packet said "we are different". I feel like most restaurants want to be different. Wanting to be different seems pretty ordinary. What would really make this place different is if their sauce packet said "we are ordinary". Being ordinary is underrated. I'd love to see a documentary on an ordinary person's life. The documentary about Michael Jordan's quest to six rings was incredible, but I want to see a documentary on a person's 9-5 job and their quest to retire at 60. That'd be the most different documentary. Anyway, the food was really good here.
First time trying this place. Loved the falafel dinner with all the toppings (jalapeños, purple olives, bell peppers, tomatoes). And their signature white sauce with some hot sauce on the side. I tasted the beef and I'm definitely gonna get that next time. Falafel balls were good, just a bit over fried. Staff was very friendly and there was 1 child seat available. Some indoor and outdoor seating options available. Looking forward to my next visit!
Yummy chicken and beef gyro over rice! I have had their food in New York. They have replicated the taste in California. Sure you can’t replicate that feel of eating on the streets of Manhattan in cold winter. But this will be as close as you can get in California. Their menu is very simple. I recommend the plate. Portion sizes are big! Worth the money!
I finally got to try this place after all the hype and was it worth it? It was pretty good. Luckily there was no line. I got the small gyro platter, which I regretted later as I could have ate more, but maybe I was just super hungry that day. I was surprised that this was pretty good. For some reason, I expected the rice to be dry and I'm not a huge fan of any rice that's not Asian, but I actually liked it. I got the gyro for my protein and it was pretty good as well. I was also surprised that I actually like the white sauce as well because I usually don't like any time of white sauce. This one was actually garlicky and had good flavor and I wanted more, but was too lazy to go back to the counter. Watch out for that hot sauce though. It's pretty damn spicy. Overall, I thought it was pretty good and worth the hype. It helped that there wasn't a line either. I would go back and get the large plate next time.
The chewy pita slices, the balance of rice, meat, and salad, the awesome white sauce (Basically super delicious ranch sauce) and a little bit of the super spicy hot sauce. What's not to like? However if you've tried New York's it might be a little disappointing here because they give you less, it costs a little more and it's not the same experience. But again thankful to have one near.
The lettuce looks a few days old. Please make sure you use fresh ingredients. Thanks
First of all, I’d like to say I love halal guys - however for past 3 times from this specific location, they’d always leave my order incomplete. Fries once, the cheesecake once, lately the sauces. How do I eat this without the sauces? To top it off, I also had burnt falafels. I had to drive back 20 mins to ask for sauce and the girl at the counter is giving me an attitude like I owed her something 💀 This store needs fixing and training.
Just ordered a beef gyro platter today and my platter was generously filled with meat. However, the restaurant smelled so bad, like sewer 😷🤢. If you’re operating a food business, make sure your restaurant look and smell clean and appetizing. I had to get my order to-go instead after being in there for a few minutes! The place needs a deep clean somewhere!
I've been a Halal guys fan for 10 years. It doesn't change no matter I was in New York or now in California. It impressed me by its deliciousness and lots of food at an affordable price. However I was fully disappointed today. You can see from the picture that this was what the man gave me as a regular platter. It's just half empty. It's even worse when I see the previous customer getting a lot of food (like always) from a different person while I was getting this. I asked for more rice but only to be told that more rice will come with additional cost. I will remember the man serving me and definitely refuse his service in the future.
Communication is key for good customer service. Had a door dash order get delivered without many of the items I ordered. I was able to get my refund for the items but these service fees we get charged just to have missing items really sucks just to get items missing on your delivery that as well gets fees.. that being said, guys... Please answer your calls. I was really trying to find out if my items were onsite or if I was scammed by my driver. Not being able to get answers from anyone doesn't help keep positive relationships with your customers.
Unbelievably small portion size and low quality for the price!
I’ve been to many Halal Guys locations, including the original one in New York, and this is hands down the worst experience I’ve had. I will never come back and definitely do not recommend this location. I should have read the reviews before coming here, my mistake. Food: Tasteless and cold Atmosphere: Horrible smell (and not a food smell) Portions: Very little meat, mostly rice Service: Okay, nothing special I’d strongly avoid this location and go to the Santa Clara or Sunnyvale locations instead. Huge difference in quality.
gave uncooked meat, and bread was smelling like it's not fresh. veggies felt stale too store shows closes at 11, there was no chairs to sit on, they were all flipped. Never gonna take food from here again
Very disappointing experience eating at this restaurant th HALLAL Guys. The food is overpriced for what you get. The rice and beef were not tasty at all, and the portion size was very small for a full plate. I expected much better quality and value
The qty is just quite less, it honestly feels bad to be handed this, I’d much rather choose a Chipotle bowl which costs slightly less than this but is fulfilling. Also, the food freshness wasn’t the best.
Overpriced for food that doesn’t even taste fresh. The rice was cold and hard, and while the meats were okay, they only offer about three topping options—which is wild for the price. It’s around $17 for a small plate of rice, protein, and a couple of toppings. We also ordered falafels on the side and they were dry and burnt. I will never be coming back. Wish I could get my money back 😭 this should be a crime!!
I've always loved eating halal guys, but for whatever reason this location just sucks. Bread is soggy. Meat is dry. Rice is flavorless. Falafel is hard as rock. Workers are unfriendly and rude. Also the store always looks dirty, which really makes me wonder if they're taking necessary precautions when making food. I'd rather take the extra trip to drive out to the Santa Clara location than come to this place again.
They serve a pitiful amount of rice and chicken/beef on the plate for $15. For that price, a half empty plate is not acceptable, when I asked them to fill the platter that I’m paying 15 bucks for, they said it would cost more for “extra protein” and started arguing. I don’t have time to argue about food so I walked. Poor service, tiny portions, and the soda machine is always broken or out of stock. Been going to Halal Guys for 8+ years and they’ve been on a sharp decline for a while now, this place is the prime example of that. These issues aren’t exclusive to this location, the Fremont and Santa Clara locations are also terrible. There are plenty of alternatives for the money, save the headache and go elsewhere.
