I stopped by on a Saturday around 3pm and there was no wait for a table. The curry is delicious and comforting. Spicy but not too spicy and full of deep flavor. The tonkatsu is excellent. Perfectly fried, thick cut, and juicy on the inside. It pairs so well with the curry and the breading holds up to the curry and doesn't get soggy too fast. Portion sizes are very generous and I left absolutely stuffed. Highly recommend.

Curry Life always satisfies my Japanese curry cravings with consistent quality each time I visit. Can't go wrong with the juicy/crispy katsu + giant rice portions, and they also have good curry udon (and now non-curry items too). The curry is full of flavor and super hearty! The pricing is standard for jp curry in the area. I've never had trouble with getting seated quickly. The staff there are kind and service is quick, and the interior is welcoming and homey. Expect parking to be busy during peak hours.

I went here because the line at Tsujita was so long. Long story short..I’m glad I went here and tried the curry for the first time. It’s really authentic tasting, just like in Japan. The anime theme and figurines give it a fun atmosphere. The servers are Japanese and they were really friendly and gave good service. Definitely going to be my go-to Japanese curry place. The curry flavor was perfect to me. I got medium spicy, maybe my spice tolerance went down because I was sweating and my face turned red for the first time (lol). I was in line for the bathroom in the back and I could see them preparing the curry. They have this big stock pot that is just like in Japan. That’s so cool.

It was the best katsu curry in south bay! Perfect depth and texture 🤩 would highly recommend

4years later - more yummy now. Like it. Self service. The meat is too thick for either chicken or pork. It is not the best curry rice choice in the South Bay. A bit pricey as well.

Great little place with solid curry. Definitely one of the best curry places in the bay area, the food here really is no slouch. Service can be spotty at times if they are busy and you might be waiting upwards of half an hour for your meal at worst but typically it's ok. The seating is nice and quaint.

Solid Japanese curry that is borderline fast food-esque. You order at the counter, and very shortly after they will call your number at the pick up counter. I ordered the beef curry with chicken cutlet medium spicy. The chicken was light and crispy. The restaurant itself must cater to to-go orders because it’s small and only has like 6 tables. Your food comes in reusable plastic to go bowls. My only complaint is I wish there were more beef chunks in the curry. I will definitely be coming back!

TLDR: Pork over ~ chicken and riceover ~ noodles. Been there twice and trust my review! Pork is juicer and fattier than chicken. Rice is better than noodle bc noodle might be a bit soggy. Food comes super fast and it's a fast casual so don't take your first date there loll! Also seen a lot of family go there. Kids love the place too. Pro tip: get desserts and drinks from other restaurants in the mitsuwa plaza. Guarantee a great time and meal. We love mochi cream there. Service is great. Seems family-run.

I was very hungry after work. Clover Bakery was already closed for the day so decided to come here. Ordered Pork curry and received it in five mins because there was no line. Ate outside because it was too loud inside, the sh*tty music blasting, Parking is can be difficult but today not so much. Clean restaurant and friendly staff. Wil eat again here 😘

4/17/2022 at 12:30pm Not crowded. Indoor dining available. Wipes at table. Chili powder available so you can make as spicy as you like. Got the same chicken and pork as last time and taste just as great. 4/1/2021 Curry tasty and you can add hot chili to your liking. Pork and chicken dishes tasty and moist.

Bought a to go order. The curry has a nice flavor, the low spice level really did fit my taste. The beef could be better but that's probably from the to go stuff. Overall the curry was nice and no slow burn spicyness.

Been past here a bunch and from the outside it's not as welcoming as the inside, and the staff. Menu has plenty of variety. Had a chicken katsu curry and Karaage chicken udon. It was fresh and HOT! And Deeeelicious. Portions are generous. Took a lot home despite eating far past being full because it was so tasty. New regular place to visit. My daughter and I loved it. They have a repeat customer.

I always love this place! For the kind staff and excellent fish. I ordered the Mix Don tonight (salmon tuna and yellowtail). Be prepared for a wait, because this place is so popular!

Amazing sushi rolls, very fresh and taste is great! I have been a loyal customer of their other location in Mountain View, and this restaurant didn't disappoint me as well. I'll be back again!

One of my favourite date night is four dollar sign omakase. But obviously that’s not realistic on a frequent basis. When I’m craving for one of those date nights but don’t want to spend four dollar signs, we go to Sushi Tomi!! We always know that we’ll be happy because that’s what Sushi Tomi is - reliable! We always ONLY get their nigiris (from their a-la-carte nigiri menu, not the sets) and we sometimes think that the freshness of their fish rival other high end sushi restaurants. IMO this is the best way to eat here - only get their nigiri’s and try your best to order from their handwritten special fish menu. They probably make less money from fresh nigiri than a cooked bento box so that’s why I think it’s a better bang for your buck!! Their scallops and tuna are very good - the baseline for a good sushi spot ;) Uni can vary sometimes but still very good for a day to day spot. We also love the Eel Roll!!!! We get it each time and I always alternate between the nigiri’s and the eel roll for the perfect bites! We’ve never tried their omakase as I enjoy selecting my preferred nigiris instead at a place like this. Before going, set your expectations and know that it will usually be at least a 30 minute wait for weekend dinners. Though annoying, I think it’s a testament that I’m not the only one that think this is a great place! There is no online waitlist, you must be physically present to put your name down. I find that the wait here is shorter than the Mountain View location and the atmosphere is more comfortable as it’s more spacious and quiet. While I love the nigiri’s, a growth area for them is their service. They can be slow at times with getting items (such as chopsticks or refilling tea) but it doesn’t stop us from thinking that’s it’s one of our favourite spots!

Another great experience with Tomi Sushi. The entire family had a great time and agreed the food was great. Id definitely come back for more as there are a few more items on the menu I would like to try.

If you’re looking for a more authentic Japanese restaurant, this place is definitely worth checking out. They have a wide variety of dishes, so even if you don’t eat raw fish, there are still plenty of options to choose from. Overall, I really enjoy coming here. The prices aren’t too high, so in terms of value, it’s actually pretty great. The fish is fresh, of course not comparable to high-end omakase spots, but for a casual weekday sushi place, it does the job. I’d definitely recommend it.

Authentic, fresh, delicious. This is a gem of a sushi restaurant that is reminiscent of what you get in Tokyo. The prices are fair for what you get the Don rice bowls are the way to go here. Whether you go for chirashi or a single fish don, you will be pleased with your choices. My favorite was the negitoro, but you really can’t go wrong here. Come early for lunch or dinner because it gets packed.

Quality of the food here is great and very authentic, though priced on the higher side. We enjoyed the sashimi and rolls. Atmosphere is very lively and the space seems best for smaller parties. It usually gets very busy during peak hours, so it's recommended to coming early to avoid waiting longer. Parking can be tough in the plaza lot but it's usually ok.

This place is very good, the quality of the food is good especially the sushi, according to my friend who studied in Japan! I love the salmon, good texture of fish meat with very good flavor and fresh feelings, I also like the tempura, crunch outside but juicy inside! The service is very good also, there is a cute girl she always comes to fill your tea. I accidentally knocked my tea over and she was there right away to help me, to give me tissues and towels, to tell me don't worry, she is just so cute with a smile on always! We would love to come back again!

Recommend for a quick bite. A quick sit-down restaurant. Even with every table full it was only a 10 minute wait. There was only one server on a Sunday afternoon so he was busy but still attentive and very nice. I find that a lot of places make bland Japanese curry, but luckily theirs was not.

Solid Japanese curry! Good portions for the price, quick service and yummy food. The one comment I would have is the location is quite small, so you might have trouble finding a seat when it gets busy. Otherwise, loved my time here!

Really good Japanese curry restaurant. Love how they have vegetarian and pescatarian options as usually Japanese curry is made with meat, even boxed Japanese curry. The restaurant is small so you may have to wait but should not come as a surprise if you’re going for Japanese food.

I ordered fried shrimp udon and champion udon because takoyaki is gone.Everything was delicious, but I was not satisfied with the price, and the chicken karaage was too salty to eat.I personally don't like sour curry. It was sour and not very strong curry. But donkatsu. Fried shrimp was grilled well and delicious.

I loved the curry here very much. Having lived in Japan for two years, I get cravings for their famous Coco Ichibanya. I feel this is as close as I can get without going down to the nearest US location in LA. I was not too happy with the prices though. It is customizable but there's a charge for each thing you add so I ended up paying almost 30 for my bowl. The portions however are huge, I ate half and got two meals out of it so it evens out. The flavors and texture however were absolutely on point. I'll be returning soon.

I was happy that they survived þhe pandemic as my family used to go here a lot. We went on a Sunday night. The seafoods (oysters, snow crabs, clamps, and fishes) are fresh and tasty. One of my friends was invested in the sashimi, while the others were in love with the clamps. The mango ice cream was our favorite end note. Not the best food in the world but definitely our top buffet place for the price they offer.

We sat at that counter, facing the men preping the food. The shushi was amazing and tasty. The service was fast, and the environment was cozy as well. The only disappointment was their takiyoki balls that each had only one small piece of octopus inside.

A hole in the wall sushi spot. Okay food, but pricy for what it was worth. Good service. I ordered the "Katsudon" and my friend ordered several pieces of sushi. There weren't labels on what each sushi is, so if you aren't familiar, be sure to look it up beforehand. For both dishes there is a large rice ratio, for me I prefer to have less of a rice ratio to my food. The service itself was good though and they check on you regularly. Wouldn't come back mostly because I want to check out other restaurants near me.

Similar to the one in the Mountain View. Overall it tastes good, just the dragon roll has too much rice. The service is also good and quick. There are enough seats on weekend and no need to wait if you arrive before the noon.

Tomi has been here for many many years with a good number of loyal/long term customers. They serve traditional Japanese dishes (somewhat different than a lot of other fusion-Japanese restaurants, with those fusion sushi rolls). They also have good lunch specials. The dishes are in general pretty good with good quality sashimi, reasonable CP. Some of the items though do have high prices.

Good food surprisingly decent amount of seating . Food is okay I prefer their location in mountain view. Great place to get bento boxes and sushi sets. Good for groups 8 or less anymore night be slightly difficult to seat .

This is a nice place for quick curry fix. The portions were huge. The curry is more spicy than traditional Japanese curry. The tonkatsu was huge although it was a bit dry and could be seasoned a bit more. For the price this is a great place to have curry. Friendly staff. It's open seating so you may need to wait for a table after you order.

This is the first time I've had Curry Udon that looked veryyyyy unappealing and just ...weird? Curry just poured over broth. Udon was also overcooked and the curry was very 1 dimensional. The service was wonderful but food wasn't it unfortunately. I would recommend Udon Mugizo, just down the street if you want to enjoy Curry Udon. There is 2 outdoor seating benches which were very convenient! It looks like this place can get busy but service was pretty efficient.

Kien Lam

Maybe it just what we ordered or couldn't appreciate it (though we go to a lot of Japanese restaurants). But the charasi we ordered was pricey and small, with very thin slices of fish. The Udon bowls were likewise small ...and, look, they literally offered a plain Udon -- just noodles and broth. Not much variety. We just did enjoy ourselves here.

I've ordered sukiyaki beef curry for togo today (Feb 23, order K33, Clover ID: PJVPEEHZ70AKM) from San Jose 95129, but they didn't give me the curry sauce... I tried to call the store multiple times, but they won't answer it. I have been a loyal customer and ordered many times, but this is very disappointing. Please make a refund for my order.

I've been to many Japanese restaurants in the Bay Area, and unfortunately, this was the most disappointing experience so far. We ordered quite a bit for a party of 4 - 3 omakase sushi sets, 1 special chirashi, chicken karaage, and two udons. To start, the fish didn’t seem fresh. The tuna looked grayish, so we asked if it could be replaced. I mentioned to the server that I’m pregnant and wanted to be cautious about freshness. Her response was, “You’re not supposed to eat sushi when pregnant,” which felt unnecessarily judgmental. My doctor has cleared me to eat sushi as long as it's fresh, and hearing that completely ruined my appetite. I came to enjoy dinner with my family, not to be lectured… Additionally, there were basic service oversights - no sauce provided for the tempura, and no sauce for the chicken karaage until we specifically asked for spicy mayo. As for the food, the omakase was disappointing-overly salty and lacked texture. Sadly, I won’t be returning. Cant believe i paid almost $400 for this service and quality.
