Opinions de Veggie Grill San Jose
I love this place! I wish they open up more veggie grill restaurant. Theres not a lot of vegan options restaurant for us vegan people. We need more vegan restaurants everywhere; just like this one! Please open up more or at least reopen the one in Walnut creek,Ca. That one was a great spot! I used to go there often, until unfortunately you guys close down .... Anyways 100% recommend veggie grill. EVERYTHING IS VEGAN & MARVELOUS!
Their food tastes fresh and flavorful. I enjoyed their baja fish tacos which were crisp on the outside and paired well with a creamy sauce. Their Far East Thai Chik'n bowl was also very good; the chik'n had a crispy and flavorful coating and the curry was rich and fragrant.
The plant-based food here was really great! A lot of flavor and impressive that it tastes like meat. The employees are helpful and service is quick.
5 star service by Herberth. Twice it has happened where he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, and taken care of.
Food was great! I had the Santa Fe sandwich and fries. Did not taste vegan at all. I heard great things about the lentil soup by the time I arrived (a little after 1pm) the soup was all sold out. Was pretty pricy. $45 for 2 sandwiches. Very nice courtyard outside.
Love veggie grill as a vegan place with multiple options. Love the bulgogi kimchi bowl, Sonoran bowl, nachos and fries the most. The freshly baked cookies were devoured by all! Dominic and Pedro were excellent, we went with 2 kids and 4 adults and had tons to order, food was delivered in great time, they were attentive to kids and very hospitable and warm. we love the open outdoor ambience and indoor too!
Veggie Grill is my favorite spot in the Bay Area! I love that you can customize any burger or sandwich to be lettuce-wrapped for a healthier choice. I also love their seasonal menu items.
Discovering Veggie Grill was like finding a treasure in the city. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff made me feel welcome right away. I tried the Crispy Cauliflower and salad, and it was a revelation—crunchy, flavorful, and utterly satisfying, all while being healthy and planet-friendly. Veggie Grill proves that eating well can be a joy. It's the perfect spot for anyone craving delicious food. A visit here leaves you happy and fulfilled.
I had a veggie burger and lentils soup! Both were quite yummy and filling. The soup was very thick, tasty and healthy. The burger did have cheese, etc but was still yummy. Highly recommend coming here.. even if you’re not a vegetarian.
WOW. I love this place. I love the way they make their fries and all their food it so SCRUMPTIOUS!!! I love the variety of drinks too! The service is awesome too and the liveliness is just perfect. It is also placed in a very convenient area with cafes and dessert places. All in all, the area is absolutely wonderful and the food is some of the best vegetarian food out there. So worth to go for a peaceful family dinner (or solo)!
Great lunch spot. Prices are about what you would expect (I paid $12 for a sandwich which came with a side) but the portions are huge. The food was very good. I wanted to order everything on the menu but I got the Thanksgiving sandwich (seasonal item) and it was delicious. the stuffing was just amazing! It came with mashed yams which were a bit odd - can't quite place why, but it didn't really matter because I was too full to eat them anyway hah. There are some interesting fountain beverages including matcha horchata which I wish I would have gotten! Gender inclusive restroom available.
I’ve been enjoying Veggie Grill for years. As a vegan, there’s not a ton of all vegan places in the bay area but this is one of them. Folks here have always been nice and friendly, and I have never had issues with the quality. The food is always presented well and packed well, they use sustainable packaging too which is nice. The food has always tasted good and has been fresh. I love the steak quesadillas and the nachos.
I ordered the “carne asada” taco, Baja taco, cauliflower taco, and the “chicken” pesto sandwich. I was Completely BLOWN AWAY at how amazingly delicious the cauliflower taco and “chicken” pesto sandwich was! If I could Eat 10 of those a day I would! All the food was delicious, but the cauliflower taco and pesto sandwich were my favorites! 😍🥰
It's one of my favorite vegitarian/vegan restaurants. The BBQ burger is delicious. The staff is very helpful and kind . Even gave me a free cake on Father's Day, which was a nice gesture. We will definitely be back.
Chikn sandwich was really good! We also had the burger, mushroom tacos, fish tacos, and crispy cauliflower and they were all super tasty. So glad that this vegan place exists in this area! Everything tastes fresh and clean. Servers are super nice too!
Perfect 👍👌 loved it vegan, awesome delicious yummyest food ever always same taste I wish veggi grill open in every city.......
Amazing plant based options. All organic and fresh. A great choice for quick go to plant options!
Beautiful day to sit on their patio and enjoy a mushroom taco and the new peach smoothie. Not too busy in there and the service was excellent. It’s great to have a tasty vegan option in Santana Row! Good for a casual, light lunch or dinner.
Veggie Grill in Santana row has lots of great vegetarian and vegan options. I initially thought of going for one of their delectable bowls but eventually went for a crispy chick'n sandwich and a side of roasted garlic broccoli. Doesn't look like much but don't be fooled as it'll fill you right up. Well done and savored every bite I took. Will certainly be back to try other options. Came to less than $20 with a tip, so not too pricey.
I LOVE The Veggie Grill! It's a great feeling to have a wide selection of healthy whole foods. I don't eat eggs, dairy and gluten and this place satiates my need for deliciofood without compromising my health needs. I love their bowls. I ordered their Immunity bowl with sweet potato, Brussels sprouts, quinoa, greens and mushroom sauce. Delicious! I hope they can bring back their various juice/fresca beverages soon, those were awesome!
Amazing spread of plant-based dishes, delicious and healthy! will be dining here multiple times
Hands down best Vegan options for a great date night!! Highly recommend!! The vibes are just right here!
Incredible vegan options Healthy or plant based junk food You decide It's a completely different restaurant now that next level has taken over. If you tried it before you should absolutely come back and try the new menu it's incredible
The last standing branch of Veggie Grill in the bay area. I am really not understanding why more people are not visiting this restaurant. They have really good Vegan / Vegetarian options that are good for even Meat eating folks. I always had great exprience here, and the rewards program are great too.
First time in Santana Row and need a quick bite - the food is surprisely yummy. Ordered the VG classic and lentil soup. The burger was delicious and tasty, the bun was fluffy. The pattie looks flat but actually it is quite good. The food and soup made my night, the staff was friendly and helpful too.
Loved the option. Not so pricy. Taste is really good I initially thought of going for one of their delectable bowls but eventually went for a crispy chick'n sandwich and a side of roasted garlic broccoli. Doesn't look like much but don't be fooled as it'll fill you right up. Well done and savored every bite I took. Will certainly be back to try other options. Southwestern Nacho bowl is a must have too
VG has an excellent whole wheat burger bun to go with all their burgers. Recently added vegan salmon to their menu, not bad.
The Buddha bowl is great! First time having it after they switched owners. Everything except the buffalo sauce is good.
Fantastic Veggie Delights with Great Service! I recently visited Veggie Grill and had an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile which immediately made me feel welcome. The restaurant itself was impeccably clean, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. I tried a couple of their veggie selections including the lentil soup and fries, and I must say, they were absolutely delicious! The lentil soup was hearty and flavorful, while the fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned just right. It's fantastic to see such care and attention put into vegetarian dishes. Overall, Veggie Grill exceeded my expectations in terms of both food quality and customer service. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious veggie options in a welcoming environment. This is definitely a five-star restaurant worth visiting again and again!
Been here a few times. Service is good, friendly. Food is good! All plant-based, and very easy to bring non-vegans to because it’s full of familiar food like burgers, cheese fries etc but still appealing to typical vegans with foods like mushroom tacos, quinoa mushroom burger patties etc. Bathroom was clean. This is a genuinely good food option in Santana Row even regardless of it being vegan. Pre-vegan I’d been to plenty of restaurants here and found them overpriced and mid. It’s not as popular of a spot as it should be. I think maybe the name “veggiegrill” gives people expectations of some boring salads maybe, idk.
I always go here for their amazing Chipotle black bean burger. The burger is served hot and fresh and is consistent in taste. I love that it's priced reasonably and the fact that they mention protein and fiber for every item on their menu. I also love their Mac n cheese and chocolate truffle cake. I visit atleast once a month and this place never disappoints!
I stopped by today for lunch with my sweetheart. I personally love this restaurant, miss having one closer to SF, and wanted to take her there. We enjoyed the nachos with house made queso, avocado, Tex mex “meat”, beans and jalapeños… delicious! Next we went full-in on the buffalo tenders, smothered and tossed in sauce with a side of ranch. Just spicy enough. Excited about it. We paired the food with their fountain iced tea and berry banana smoothie. Wow the smoothie hit the spot. I love the vibrant colors inside and the many booth options, super comfy seating. Every time I’m nearby I stop by for the buffalo tenders; they’re the best. Alex was super friendly and helpful, greeting us as we entered. Great food, great service, comfy seating! I’m an omnivore and love their food. Definitely gotta go!
Tried their marinated mushroom taco, absolutely loved it. Was amazing. Also had their veggie burger, it was also great, appreciated their aioli&burger buns. Partner had their 'chicken' sandwhich, we both agreed it tasted like chicken, which she did not like much. Admittedly that was on her, she doesn't like chicken sandwhiches, and theirs was a very good faux chicken. Too good in fact for her.
I have so many food allergies, this is heaven. I get sauces on the side to stay safe. The people here are really really friendly (thanks Herberth!) and the food is made with super fresh whole food ingredients! Same prices on DoorDash as in person, a big bonus. The booths and tables are comfortable, nice and clean (they bus the tables), so it’s a nice place to sit with stable WiFi too.
All vegan restaurant chain with delicious plant based alternatives to traditional fast food. They keep up to date with the innovation in the vegan world - for example the new sunny side alternative. I also like their catering offerings for small parties. Don't forget to sign up to the reward program!
Veggie Grill - Next Level is my favorite spot at Santana Row! The staff is always friendly and patient, making every visit feel welcoming. The food is absolutely amazing — I love the nachos and the classic burger. The new fried cheese bites are wow — a must-try! I've also had the protein plates and really enjoyed them. And don’t skip dessert — the ice cream is creamy and delicious. Highly recommend!
I’ve been looking around Santana Row to find something to eat and decided to try this place out. This restaurant serves vegan food and they fairly priced them. It seems to be averaged around $14 and that’s not really bad. The place is nicely built and it’s quite dark here and even quiet. Despite that, I tried tempeh for the first time and it tastes good. The bowl is big and for being priced almost $13. That’s not really bad. The rest of the meal is healthy and delicious. Am looking forward to trying other food here especially the sandwiches!
I went with the Kimchi “Steak” Bowl. They use beyond meat for the steak with fresh ingredients. This is my go to when ordering from here since it provides my palette with the perfect balance. I’m not vegetarian and I’m not vegan but I do love this bowl. The establishment itself is fairly clean inside and the staff are very friendly as well!
This is my guilty pleasure vegan spot! Consistent foods and nice staff. Dessert options could be better, they have had the same items for years. Fries, burgers, vegan Mexican, and vegan wings are all great.
Nice place for vegans. They have plenty of options. Their Grillin' Chickin' sandwich is great. Other than that the Buffalo Wings were OK, too saucy. The Beyond Crispy Tacos were worst, they were too crispy, barely had any filling and the beyond meat had worst texture. Felt bit overpriced. This is a popular location as its in Santana Row.
The vegetarian dishes are so good. I had their burgers, bowls, and burritos. All very good. I’m surprised it’s dead inside. The location is right there at the Row. Lots of foot traffic. Maybe the way it’s set up. I see more people at Urban Plates and Starbucks. Overall, good spot. Flavors are great.
Food was really good and delicious, I loved the fact that everything was vegan! The only thing that wasn’t as great as the food was the customer service, I asked for an extra plate which the waitress forgot to bring and I had to go and get it myself and the second meal I ordered took so long and when I went to get it, the meal was just in the kitchen ready but because of short staff no one brought my food. In general I would highly recommend this place and would definitely go back again!
A vegan version of McDonald's. That's how it summarizes place but it's much more than that because they have some cool other stuff in there that you can check out. I ended up getting a salad and some brussel sprouts things like that. So maybe it's more like a healthy Denny's diner with burgers fries salads wraps. They have Mexican food now but I didn't try any of that stuff. I did like their Fountain drinks pretty clean overall if you want to check out a cool chain this is the place to be. Check it out for sure if you're in the area
So, my friend and I went to this location when a band was playing in the park, so, it was lively but crowded. I did the Pick a pair: mini buffalo wrap and 1/2 all hail kale salad. The wrap was very well spiced and salad was delicious! The portion was perfect, I didn’t end up too full. My friend got a salad, i don’t remember which one, but she loved it! She’s not vegetarian, and she really thought what she had was real meat. She was impressed by this place, it’s food and the freshness of the ingredients. We recommend it!
We have been to veggie grill before about 2 years ago at that time the food was really good but this time we ordered Chicken pesto and Parmesan sandwich which was new on the menu and steak burger, I felt it was good but not that great which I was expecting it to be but the nachos that we ordered in appetizer was really good it was super loaded😋
Seasonal menu items are a hit. The bulgoi and spring salad with watermelon radish was good. A little heavy on the mock meat for me. The buffalo wings are always a hit. Staff was professional and courteous, also they have this matcha horchata that is amazing. Had three cups before I left.
Got vegan Sonoran bowl. Great quantity, can do better on sauces as it felt a little dry, also more beans and jalepeño would taste nice too!. Good quality overall! Def recommend
Don’t Order Thanksgiving Feast - not worth it I have to give some very surprising and disappointing feedback. Which is not a reflection on this location. Normally really love VG. Like on multiple levels of engagement. I have brought personal family, lots of Meat or Nothing friends and literally a school fundraiser worth of customers at another location. 5star online reviews and more. And usually everything has been really well done in so many ways. But got the Thx Giving Feast + Carrot Cake ($209 with tax) and several basics were disappointing. The stuffing was … only lightly herbed chopped white bread. That’s soooo not stuffing. Like just herbed moist chopped bread is not stuffing as like just pan cooked soy sauce rice is not fried rice. I added fresh sage, mirepoix, plant meat crumbles, Just egg, herbs, And cornbread stuffing mix… ok I left out the VG stuffing all together as it was kinda sad grayish looking. Cranberry sauce was very very puree spiced apple sauce - little cranberry flavor and no hint of cranberry pieces. (Topping for vegan French toast? But not a cranberry sauce that technically should be called a jelly or chutney because of chunks of cranberry and whatnot. VG Cranberry Sauce was different to the point of not being what it should be.) Wellington - no mushrooms, no mycelium, no chestnuts, no tofu, no “meaty” plant based part to this at all. Mashed potatoes- the item that is biggest part of the set by weight- really could have thrown a few pats of plant based butter and some parsley (at least match online pics) to vastly improve presentation and flavor/preparation. Carrot Cake - not sure if this is normally how it is but was quite dry and no discernible raisins or other “chunky” ingredients that show up in homemade versions in addition to the carrots. The super large round plastic stickers for the boxes - “festiveness” of these does not outweigh now making the boxes not recyclable. The items are packed well so don’t spill making the boxes perfectly ok for blue bin recycling. Please don’t disappoint me again- especially with things you clearly are already very capable with, and please don’t make me want to hesitate to share you with others again. I got this so I wouldn’t have to fully cook a vegan meal. And I have been making vegan Wellingtons for Thanksgiving for years - so I was pleased and fine to spend with VG - so I wouldn’t have to cook. But some fixes would have made this work so much better. This location Feast pickup on Nov 26 was long. Staff was focused and busy with deliveries & instore customers. It Took 3 different people and conversations plus over 22min to get my prepaid Feast.
I was excited to visit this restaurant because it offers plant-based food, and as a vegetarian for religious reasons, I truly appreciate such efforts. It’s not easy to run an all-vegan restaurant in San Jose! However, I was a bit disappointed to find that the restaurant has limited options for religious vegetarians who avoid onion, garlic, and green onion — most dishes contain them. That said, the waiter was very friendly and kindly showed me a special menu with fewer than ten no-garlic options. I really appreciated her warm attitude and service. Hopefully, the restaurant can consider offering more dishes suitable for those who follow a strict vegetarian diet in the future.
Santa Fe burger is my favorite here. Super crispy and perfect tasty bite! We also had tacos with fishless fillet which was good. Buddha Bowl was filling and had variety of flavors. The place wasn't crowded, however it feels a little dated. Definitely needs an upgrade in the decor. Service was good here. Overall I like the wide range of vegetarian options available here.
Veggie Grill is definitely a little expensive (we didn't see the student discount until after we paid LOL), but the food is fresh and of good quality. The steak asada burrito was super flavorful, with impressively realistic steak. The Caesar wrap was a little salty though, with a smoky and briny dressing, and didn't have that much chicken. Carrot cake was good however! I'd definitely recommend this place as a dine-in option - seating/ambience is very open and upscale-feeling.
As a vegan, I'm actually disappointed. The food was of avarage quality at best. And it isn't priced as such (11$ for 2 tacos and a small portion of rice and beans. 14$ for burger and fries. all of which are not more than ok. To me it's all overpriced). I really hope people won't get to think that this is what vegan couisin has to offer. That being said, i'de still rather go there and support a vegan place rather than a stakehouse or a cheese place, so im happy a 100% vegan place exists. I just hope they upgarde the food quality, as many other vegan places do.
I came here, 9:03 pm because they supposedly closed at 10:00 pm, but they don't let you sit here after 9:00 pm. They said that close 30 minutes before to close. Hmmm! You can only enter to order your food. And I chose this restaurant because I liked one of their dishes on this website, but it was not included in the menu, this is different. They need to update it. The food is good but if not what I wanted.
Prices have gone a bit mad. Delicious food I had an entrée, smoothie, and dessert to go $40 Vegan Carrot Cake was delicious Smoothie (pineapple) also delicious Thai-styled chkn very good and decent portion size
Tried this vegan food spot for the first time after a recommendation by a friend. Got the vegan carne asada fajita quesadilla which was REALLY good, but what was disappointing was I ordered a online pickup promised at 11:15am, didn’t get my order until ~12pm to get my order.
All vegetarian/vegan food! The food was very good also. I had the teriyaki chickn bowl, and my sibling had the burger. The service was unfortunately super slow, and for some reason my sibling rates the atmosphere a 2. I thought it wasn't so bad, as it's in a nice and lively part of Santana Row, where people are walking around and generally having a good time.
Update: 09/04/2021 AND 09/18/2021 More false advertising, THIS time with the new Turkey Melt. My partner ordered this sandwich that looks thick and full of tofurkey according to the poster next to the cash register. The sandwich came out looking like a $4 sandwich, not worth the $13 we paid for. It was FLAT and mostly bread. I asked for a refund, received it AND another sandwich that the acting manager offered: the 2nd sandwich was just as flat. SO. Either this kitchen is consistently messing up the recipe OR the corporate heads are actively deceiving customers on a consistent basis. Granted: most of the items on this menu are beautiful, delicious, and WORTH IT. But when the brown rice gets overcooked and nearly CRACKS my teeth and my friends teeth.. this experience shouldn’t hurt. I shouldn’t have to worry about hurting my mouth at Veggie Grill. Many people are returning their food at this location. Corporate better listen. (Old review below) I’m still hungry because the double stacked Mac burger had only one patty. I called to ask why, and after a brief hold, I was told, “so the kitchen put on one whole patty instead of two small patties like their supposed to. We’re sorry about that.” So... it’s a scam. It’s not two Beyond patties, but one whole patty split in two to LOOK like two patties. No offer for a refund or a remake. No wonder the cashier told me that the management and work environment is lacking.
Food was meh. I think they should’ve cooked the onions longer so it’s more carmalized my onions was still more on the raw side. The steak house burger was not really tasty. I liked the blue cheese sauce but the fake meat itself was a little strange tasting. I probably won’t be back here. The fries however is a good price just don’t get the add on the add on didn’t really add flavor to the fries and was $5 extra.
When the restaurant was new they had a great menu, the food was flavorful and tasteful. Overtime, however, the quality went down a lot, it almost feels like the chef(s) don’t care about what they are making, they don’t pay attention to special requests. I mostly get bowls and several times in the past, they forgot to add one or two items like avocado or jalapenos or a sauce etc as listed on their menu. I let it go and continued to go back mostly because when they didn’t forget all ingredients their bowls would be enjoyable and also because the folks at the west gate one were friendly and polite. Recently however i had a bad experience at the santana row one where the manager was very rude, i added in non public review and received a prompt reply that it will not happen again and it hasn’t which is a good thing. Yesterday I ordered a sonoran bowl with a special request and was quite upset. the bowl was bland, had no flavor and the chef again forgot to add jalpenos and tortilla strips and barely added any pico de gallo. I was so very disappointed that i decided not to go back there again. It’s sad that this fast food restaurant started off so well but quickly deteriorated.
I am beyond disappointed with Veggie Grill at Satan Row 3055 Olin Ave, San Jose, CA. I have been a loyal customer for a long time and have always spoken highly of this place. Last night, I even brought six new friends with me because I wanted them to have a good experience. Instead, the manager Alex Zelaya completely ruined the entire night. The manager was extremely rude, disrespectful, and dismissive. As someone who represents the business, his behavior was unacceptable. Rather than listening or trying to resolve the situation, he made us feel unwelcome and embarrassed. It’s shocking that a manager would treat customers this way, especially long-time ones. What should have been a fun night turned into a frustrating and uncomfortable experience. Because of his attitude, I will not be returning, and neither will the people I brought with me. Veggie Grill seriously needs to address how management treats customers, because this level of disrespect is unacceptable. On a positive note there was a shift lead by the name Herbert Otero that has always outstanding customer service at this same location and he really has made us feel much better and we have stayed and have finished our meal because of him. If I was the higher up manager I would promote him as a manager instead of Alex Zelaya. I will look forward to hear from any customer service manager soon.
So disappointed that this place went down hill so fast. We waited 30 minutes for our order when no one was in front of us and the shop was fairly quiet. The buffalo sauce changed and is sooooo vinegary now. The small fry was the same size as large! So don't waste your money. My daughters meal was $11 and it was extremely small! The atmosphere was horrendous. No music playing, no fan, just the sound of the freaking drink machine. The smoothie was an absolute scam. $17 for a java smoothie with a tiny bit of whip cream? Some of the flavor was good but it wasn't worth it in the end. They need to hire staff. Those workers needed help.
I think this outlet has great potential but whoever is managing it is doing a terrible job. The fries I ordered were stale and I had to ask the staff to make me fresh ones. The food is generally good but the seating outside is so filthy. Ive noticed the inside being dirty as well since this is not my first visit. It does not suit a place like Santana Row. That's why rarely will you see someone sitting in their patio but the other restaurants on either side always have people outside. The staff seem very disinterested and disengaged and they seem to get frustrated with any questions asked about the menu or restaurant. This is really disappointing since this is the only outlet in the Bay Area.
I used to love Veggie Grill and would at least once a week. Since management changed and the chain was bought out, the flavors, quality, and hygiene have been terrible! Really not good. I will miss VG but my multiple chances have all been bad.
Do not know how this place has 4 stars. I went in on a hot 103 degree Tuesday and this place was absolutely filthy. I’m talking dirty glass door at the entrance, food crumbs everywhere (including entrance?), dirt on shelving and top of booths. Roach infested place for sure, right? Ordered curbside originally but no one ever came out with my food. Had to go out with my two kids to find parking in garage then walk out in the hell of heat there was. Only to find zero customers in store and my food bagged on the counter with employees chit chatting jokes away. So annoying. Sat inside to eat my food (despite the filth) because was I supposed to eat outside and enjoy the 103 degrees out? Wrap had a burned tortilla and barely any lettuce, for the $14.95 I paid (added avo) I’d expect they wouldn’t get stingy on the cheapest item in the wrap, lettuce. My daughters chickn tenders looked nothing like the app photo when we ordered and tasted like they had been sitting out and reheated on a microwave a few times. I’ll never visit veggie grill again because my mind will always come back to this restaurant and experience. Save your money and buy anywhere else. Literally.
Food was good, the atmosphere was terrible. We went in about 3pm on a Thursday and the music was blasting, there was a younger man that appeared to work there though not in clothes that would say so whom kept singing and speaking very loudly throughout the dining experience (we would have gone outside but it was too cold). The women who helped us at the counter was very sweet and helpful.
I am so disappointed by my experience today. The last time I came, it was a beautiful experience, but I specifically said that I was allergic to honey cinnamon and tomatoes so many times and they made my meal with tomatoes so I just ended up going and getting a refund, which obviously is pending I have to wait for it to come back, but I’m very angry because the person that took my order should've written tomato allergy, honey and cinnamon allergy. They apparently do not take allergy seriously at this restaurant. I’m absolutely hungry right now, but I will just wait until I get home. If you have any type of allergies, do not walk in this restaurant
The servers are so rude here, the food was very late, when I went to ask, the person at the counter rudely mentioned it's very busy, good is going to come out when its ready ok? What the hell? Is this the customer service you are giving? You can't even be polite?
I walked in and it was just one girl working the restaurant alone in front so I thought it would take a while although it was busy she brought out my food and was very nice the food was good as well I had a Santa Fe sandwich with sweet potato fries. I will come again, it was a good experience but the poor girl is running the restaurant by herself
This location proves that customer service is truly dead. The worker told me that I couldn’t order a smoothie because he didn’t feel like “prepping it”. I asked if they were out and he said no he just didn’t feel like prepping it. The food is good but I’ll never go back
I write this review with a lot of disappointment. Veggie Grill's Santa Fe Chick'n sandwich was one of my favorites. So much that I would order at least 1-2 times a week. It appears that they have changed the recipe for the protein and added salt and pepper. This is my personal preference and I don't like how the new recipe tastes at all. I ordered more regardless to show my support. My order was no different today, but I was shocked to see that the size of the protein was reduced by almost half. It's thinner and smaller but the price did not reflect the change. Shrinkflation for us. I won't be ordering from here anymore. It is no longer worth it for me.
⛔️⚠️ Warning to All Diners: Please Be Cautious When Visiting This Restaurant This is the second time l've had a disturbing experience at this restaurant, and I feel compelled to share it with others for their safety. On both occasions, I found a live worm in my salad. The first time, I made the mistake of letting it slide. I tried to be understanding, dismissing it as an unfortunate but possibly rare incident. I threw the rest of my salad away without causing a scene. But the second time, just days later, I encountered the same issue--another live worm in my salad. Upon notifying the staff, they refunded my money, but no apology or acknowledgment was offered beyond that. Given the severity of the issue, I expected at least a call from the manager, or a formal apology, especially after the inconvenience I faced. But instead, they dismissed the situation with indifference. To make matters worse, shortly after this incident, I developed severe stomach pain and was unable to work for several days. I went to the hospital and discovered I had contracted Helicobacter pylori, likely due to consuming contaminated food. It's been almost two weeks now, and I'm still undergoing treatment and unable to work. I tried reaching out to the restaurant for further dialogue, but they continued to ignore my concerns. If you care about your health and the safety of your loved ones, I urge you to be very careful when choosing a restaurant. This experience has been deeply troubling, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone else. Looking back, I regret not raising the issue more seriously the first time. It was my mistake to let it go, but I hope this review helps others avoid the same fate. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. Stay safe
I had been looking forward to trying Veggie Grill for over a month since I knew I’d be visiting San Jose, and unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. I ordered the taco salad and the 3-bean chili, and both were honestly terrible. The tangy pepper sauce tasted off, almost spoiled, with a weird “wang” to it. The walnut meat was extremely dry and completely flavorless. The taco bowl shell also seemed undercooked, which made the whole dish even worse. The 3-bean chili was just as bad. No depth of flavor, and overall very unpleasant to eat. I would give the food a 0.5 out of 10 for taste. I ended up throwing both of those items away with only a few bites out of each. The only decent item was the salted chocolate chip cookie. For how much hype this place gets, the food was a major letdown. I won’t be returning.
My friends and I went to Veggie Grill tonight. There were seven of us, and we didn’t realize that drinks were not included with the meals. The manager, Alex Zelaya, came over and told us he needed to charge us for two drinks. We explained that one cup was empty and unused, and the other two cups only had water, which we didn’t want or need. We even told him he could dump them out, but he insisted on charging us anyway. He was very rude and showed poor customer service. He also said we needed to be charged for sauce as well. We were very upset and told him we would be leaving a review about how he handled the situation. He didn’t seem to care at all. Thankfully, Herberth otero completely saved our night. He was very welcoming, had a great smile, and provided excellent customer service. Because of him, our night was saved and we were still able to enjoy our dinner. Kudos to Herberth! I highly recommend not going to Veggie Grill if Alex zelaya works there. However, I would gladly change my one-star review to five stars if the company let Alex go.He doesn't deserve to be a manager
We were so excited when this Veggie Grill opened more than a decade ago (2012?), in part because I'm a lifelong vegetarian. At first the food was generally excellent and we enjoyed eating here frequently. Over time, sadly, this began to change. One of the low points occurred in May 2016 when a dead fly dropped out of my "Grilled Quinoa + Veg Burger" (see image #3) as I was biting into it. We periodically returned, hoping that things would change for the better. Though there have been ups along with the downs, the general trend unfortunately has been in a definite downward direction. When we gave the restaurant another try yesterday, the avocado pieces on our tasteless kale salad were highly oxidized (dark spots prominently visible, as illustrated in the attached image). The tacos were soggy and the lettuce inside was wilted. The fries were dried out from being overcooked. Sorry to report that this was one of the most pathetic meals we've experienced at this restaurant—or any other, for that matter. Oh, well: at least there were no dead flies in our food. This is probably the last time we'll ever eat here. On a positive note, the guy at the cash register who took our order and brought the "food" to our table was very pleasant. We tipped him well. The star is for him. Image 1 caption: "What's for lunch?" Oxidized avocado, soggy tacos, wilted lettuce, overcooked fries. Image 2 caption: Blackened/oxidized avocado pieces. Was the food preparer really expecting that we'd be thinking, "Oh, yummy!" Image 3 caption: The fly that dropped out of my Veg Burger on a previous visit. The manager on site at the time claimed that this hadn't really happened (!).
