Senro Sushi is a local favorite known for fresh, high-quality sushi and a wide variety of rolls. Many reviewers praise the Tsunami Roll, Titanic Roll, and sashimi salad. Service can be inconsistent, but the friendly sushi chefs are a highlight.

Opinions de Vitality Bowls San Jose
Went here for lunch and decided I wanted comfort food, which for me is typically something soupy. So I got the chicken udon soup. For $14, you get a generous portion, chocked full of lot of Napa Cabbage, chicken leg meat, udon noodles, along with some diced red carrots, shiitake mushrooms and red onions. The broth was also delicious. I scarfed down every last drop. The servers were attentive and the service was good.
The food is delicious and the price is reasonable. I strongly recommend everyone to have lunch or dinner there. You will be addicted to their gourmet food, their fried shrimp tempura, salmon teriyaki, beef chicken teriyaki, sashimi and Hand rolls are all my favorites.. I wish I could have three stomachs to eat all the food in this restaurant ❤️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Customer, Lin in Bernal Road.
Service is friendly and professional to host my family with our 2 boys. Apple juice and kids water cups with happy hour garlic edamame ($7) and recommendation for teriyaki chicken side portion and bowl of rice was perfect for my son 6 yo. My husband and I shared mixed tempura ($11 happy hour) and two recommended rolls of the sashimi roll (my absolute favorite here with delish dressing poki like mix of cubed fish on top of rolls) and the blue tuna roll as well A5 Waygu nigiri 🍣 ($19 also another fave). Love the fresh wasabi touch on top of the blue tuna rolls perfectly spicy and not over the top. Yummy dinner and good offering happy hour if you like to drink and simple dishes 4-6:30pm. Thanks! We’ll be coming back!
We order from them almost weekly and we are never disappointed. Always fresh food and friendly people. They are very kind to the kids too.
Amazing sushi. Our waiter was super helpful getting me a roll that was beyond perfect. You know when you’re so brain dead you can’t order you just tell them your favorite fish and BAMMO you have what you are dying for!!!
Nice place, if you want sushi. By the way, it would be better to have much sophisticated aromas and scent. Atmosphere’s odor is important l think. Stuff was attentive and dedicated. Overall it was good.
I love their sushi. Serving sizes are good, and the price is comparable. They are fast too! We live nearby, and have always picked up shortly after ordering. My wife and I usually order from the classic sushi menu, and we LOVE IT. It hits the spot! We’ve also tried other things and have really liked it too. They seem to be a family owned business as they only have one other location, so if you’re looking for sushi come help these guys out stay in business!
I eat lunch here often. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The restaurant is always clean. The fish is fresh and is prepared prepared with care. I really like the Mango Tango roll in summertime. My go to is the hamachi lover. I also love the hamachi collar appetizer. It is a meal in itself. So good! Prices are in line for what they offer. Parking on weekdays can be tough but weekends are easier. Either way, it's worth it and i recommend Senro Sushi.
Absolutely loved my experience here! The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every bite tasted like it was made with real care. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. I’ll definitely be coming back — this place is a true gem for sushi lovers!
Okay. Where do I begin. The tuna in the tuna tartar was melting in my mouth. It was so fresh. It was so tender. And the sauce was amazing. Dinner did not disappoint. We had a happy roll which was divine. The sushi pizza... let me just say that crispy rice is a weakness of mine and that was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place. The food was fantastic. This service was friendly and quick. The only reason I put the atmosphere at four stars instead of five was because the food and service what's so good that I had to rate it at least one star lower We're definitely coming back.
Been going here for years and the quality seems to have increased recently! I always get the Tsunami Roll and it’s deliciously fresh and bright, perfect for the hot weather. The portions are pretty big compared to similarly priced restaurants! My roll always has huge pieces of sashimi on top and is filled to the brim with fish on the inside as well. I think their food is well worth the price, you definitely get what you pay for. The negihama roll is also great and the fish always tastes so clean and fresh. I also love their octopus karaage. Service has always been great and we’ve never been left waiting. They give delivery orders the same amount of food which is very nice, but their DD menu doesn’t have all of their items so I recommend going in-person.
Not very crowded on a week night. Great sashimi and specialty rolls.
A lot better from before! I felt that they really revamped the whole restaurant, from the menu items to the decorations, the whole vibe of the restaurant has shifted in a great direction! The food was amazing, with many unique dishes and sushi to choose from. Would recommend for a good sushi meal!
First time eating there. I was very satisfied with the selections they had. The food was fresh and tasty. I've never had tried this type of food before, but after ordering a variety of sushi rolls and tempura, I'm a happy customer. The bill of $200 was satisfactory since there was 5 adults eating a variety of dishes. Everyone went home full. I recommend this place. The staff is very attentive & prompt.
Best Sushi in all of South Bay. Been coming here for 10 years and the sushi is consistently fantastic. Staff members are very friendly and we always get great service. Used to live close by few years ago but now we drive 15miles from home to come here. Nothing else compares within probably 30 mile radius if not all of Bay area.
I ate one before he took the picture. Delicious
you can taste the difference from other restaurants. no fishy or strong cleaning chemicals. fresh taste & frsh wasabi. a bit $$, but rolls and uni bowl were on point. would be nice if they had more sofa seatings so one could enjoy comfortable seating for drinks.
We are regulars here. We've done both done in and doordash from here. The sushi is great with a good variety, the sushi chefs are awesome and friendly. One of our favorites is the salmon belly but we haven't had anything here we haven't loved. This visit we each got a bento.
Sushi can be an expensive proposition, but Senro Sushi offers a Happy Hour limited menu with excellent choices from 5-6:30. Their rolls, as seen in the photos, aren't any different in size or quality than non-Happy Hour offerings. At full price they are totally worth it, and during Happy Hour it's even better!
We ordered unagi nigiri, Hawaiian poke, and tonkatsu ramen. We were pleasantly surprised by how high quality the food was. The ramen was flavorful and not salty, and had a generous serving of pork. Would definitely come again!
The Titanic and Baked Scallop rolls. Both amazing. Titanic was better as it packed a more powerful taste punch. Plus the tempura gave it good texture. Scallop roll texture was soft and mushy.
The servers were attentive to drink orders and very helpful. My husband does not share my love for sushi and found items on the menu such as teriyaki chicken and beef. The salad with its creamy dressing was very refreshing. I ordered the titanic with tuna on top instead of salmon; which was suggested by the waitress. It was delicious. I also enjoyed the 49er and baked scallop roll.
I’ve been having nice dinners at Senro Sushi for quite a while. I am never disappointed on the quality of the food. The sashimi salad was just another nice surprise. By now I have tried most of their menu, and cannot find a single item on the menu that I would not recommend. Everything has been surprisingly good. The food is really good. The atmosphere is nice and staff is friendly. It is a nice place for a fast lunch but also an awesome restaurant for a very nice dinner. There is also a very decent selection of drinks as well.

This review has been long pending. We are a family of four and have been going to Senro Sushi for 3 yrs now and it’s our favorite Sushi restaurant. We have tried some other sushi places in San Jose but none stood out in comparison to Senro Sushi. They have excellent rolls, very prompt service and have a nice ambience which many sushi restaurants lack. Our absolute favorite is Shelby roll which we order every time. Unfortunately, we don’t have the food pictures as it’s very hard for us to resist gobbling down the rolls as soon as they are served!

We just got bento boxes, but they were good quality, fresh, nice rice in the rolls. The tempura was fresh, light, and crunchy. The service was a little lacking. Servers were nice, but my food came out 10 minutes before my dining partner's, it was awkward. It was freezing cold inside, and heavy cooking smells. The music was also really loud, but poor quality. Tinny and hard on the ears. It would have been better to sit outside, in retrospect. If I go back, I'll do that.
June 2025 Weekday lunch with colleagues: we sat outside. Service was fairly quick and they checked on us a few times for drink refills and small extras for the meal. We ordered lunch combos: a 3 item set (teriyaki salmon & chicken, tuna slices), nigiri set and unagi roll, and a 3 roll set (salmon avocado, tuna avocado, and unagi). The teriyaki sauce over the grilled salmon and chicken seemed a bit much to me; consider asking for more or less per your preference. The 3 sets of rolls were much larger than I was expecting. The salmon and tuna chunks were solid (not chopped up) and very filling. The nigiri were beautiful and eaten quickly. We really enjoyed our lunch.
Supporting neighborhood foods place. They are actually really good. I would give 4 1/2 stars if I can. Place look pretty nice. Parking is good...Will come again try others foods. I do recommend.
Really good sushi and lunch specials! Waiters were hard to find but took our order quickly. Lots of variety on the menu including kobe beef and baked rice!
Food was presented beautifully, the sushi rolls were delicious. The soup I ordered did not taste as I would have expected; however, I soon forgot because desert came along and it was pleasing both to my eyes and my taste buds. Service was nice and prompt. I will be back.

Atmosphere and service was good. Orders came out quickly but felt rushed to order and then to leave before we were done eating.
Went to go pick up my order and was welcomed by a worker that was on their phone with their back towards me; another worker needed to get their attention to help me. My patience was rewarded with burned tobiko on top of the fried rice. I understand that it’s baked but it really shouldn’t be hard to add the tobiko after you bake the fried rice. The dragon roll and chicken karaage were okay. The main appeal of this place is the convenience since it’s close by, nothing else.
Place was clean and lax. The host welcomed me in and took my to-go order quickly and efficiently. They finished my order faster than I had expected. However, the quality of the food was mediocre. Despite being a special roll, the size and taste- both being satisfactory- were underwhelming when compared to other places that have larger portion sizes. $16.50 for this portion size is asking a bit too much from the customer who wanted to satisfy their sushi craving. Not a fan nor a favorite of this sushi restaurant despite its convenient location in my area.

Sushi is ok. Not great quality. Too much teriyaki sauce. And just give you tap water. Bento box meet tasted like it was from Chili’s. The shrimp wax 75 percent batter.
Not bad but not great. Didn't get a spoon with my miso soup and asked for one but never was given one. The soup wasn’t hot. The sushi rolls were not as proportioned as other places. I don’t think I’ll be back

We went on a slow lunch day with only 4-5 other tables. Ordered a soft shell crab roll and it was burned to a crisp and they used a balsamic reduction. Balsamic reduction on a sushi roll? Gross. Looking at the menu pictures they seem to use it liberally. Ordered spicy edamame but it never came. Didn’t order a scallop sashimi but it did come. We had to ask for everything, “May we have another round of beers?” after we sat with empty glasses for 15 minutes. “May we have more water?” after a longer wait. Tempura was a heavy batter and not light whatsoever. Spicy tuna roll smelled fishy, teka maki roll was a weird very dark red (at least parts of it as if they mixed old fish with new fish) and also smelled fishy. Gross. I’m grateful I didn’t get sick :)
I just ate here with my husband for lunch. We give five stars for the atmosphere and the food. The food was delicious and very fresh. However, the service was not so great so we give that a one if anything. We sat down and did not get drinks for about 20 minutes or even a hello from our waitress. We had to flag down the busboy to ask him who our waitress was and to grab her for us. During our meal, she did not check up on us at all and did not fill up our drinks until way later (they were empty for about 40 minutes). When she finally did bring water, she only gave my husband water and not me. We waited another 10 minutes to flag her down for my drink. Then when we were trying to find our waitress so that we could order two more rolls and a dessert, she just came by and dropped off our bill. We ended up not getting any more food because of this. My husband and I usually tip about 20% for good service and 25% for excellent service, but they were lucky that we even tipped 10% since it was so terrible. We actually only wanted to tip the sushi chefs for they did a really good job with the food. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back.
Was accused of stealing my own food that I bought and paid for. Fix your ticketing system. I recommend writing a number on the bag and a number on a duplicate receipt out of sight so when someone comes in you can quickly and easily give them their food. Rather, they decide to place the named receipt on the bag for the whole place to see. We don't want 21 questions and dirty looks when we come to pickup food.
Food Quality Used to be excellent but going down badly recently. Just had order for takeout today…crabmeat topped the titanic smelled, tuna topped the fancy blue fin turned blackish. I’m a frequent customer here,….Not sure what’s going on?
Bad experience! My husband and I went for lunch today 10.24.2024 at 2pm, and the waiter (the only girl working as server) just looked to us and said you have 1 minute to choose your lunch our kitchen is closing. And she came again asking what's our drink, and she came again rushing us to choose our lunch, okay we were already a little bit stressed, but we are okay maybe they are tired and just we want to close the restaurant. And we choose the fast plates, but I noticed the cook guy and waiter were looking at us and laughing, I was afraid if he was doing something wrong with our food, but okay we kept waiting, but they were still looking to us and laughing, and we were about to eat, the cook just looked to us and told something to the other guy and both were looking to us and laughing, maybe he spilled at our food, maybe he did something wrong, I just told the water that we were canceling our order. I was so nervous, so angry, that is not the way to treat the guests, we did not do anything wrong, why they were being so disrespectful to us. Bad stuff, bad service. we were so disappointed.
I have been coming here for years! Since they opened. But I am in shock. How is it possible that you have an empty restaurant, and you have audacity to treat people with such disrespect. I was told to pick my seat by the host and then an Asian lady come and said I couldn’t sit at a table. I asked if it was reserved, and she said no. But that I couldn’t sit it in. It was a 2 person table in the corner, and I walked in with my two kids, trying to find a little corner to keep them tamed. Maybe they just don’t need my business. They must prefer their restaurant empty. After this being my go to spot for many years, this seriously was so disrespectful they LOST MY BUSINESS.

We ordered Chirashi but the assorted sashimi were not fresh. We also ordered large Sapporo for drinks but found out later during payment that it was not included in the happy hour price. The waiter should have notified us about it in the beginning because we asked her if we are still in the happy hour timeframe prior to ordering it. We will not comeback and we will not recommend this place!
