We stopped for a snack of Alcapurria, plantain fries and beers. The house made hot sauce was delicious, food great and the prices super reasonable (especially after the cruise ship hellscape of old San Juan). Great patio with local flavor. Highly recommend.

This is our favorite place to eat and drink! Amazing food(chef's kiss), spectacular drinks(get the Mojito or Piña Colada), and the service is phenomenal!! 5 Stars!!! If you want a place to chill that feels like home, definitely come here!! They won't disappoint!! I'm big on customer service, and there was never a moment I felt like they didn't care if I was happy! TOP NOTCH!! 🤌🏾 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We stayed at a VRBO right across the street from La Puerta Cafe, and I have to say, the whole experience was incredible. The food was absolutely authentic, (just like grandma’s). The mojitos here were amazing, best on the island. The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic, from the music, to the customers and even the chicken that walked free range, gave this place such charm. We literally stopped here every night before we went back to our VRBO. I already miss the owners, as they welcomed us and made us feel at home. It’s such a charming place and I felt like I was right back at home with my family here.

What a find! It's a pretty simple formula here. Order a cool drink, find a table, and enjoy the chickens and roosters while looking at beautiful murals while enjoying the outside air. The owner was away most of the time we stayed here but if she wasn't we would have stopped by here everyday. Such a cool spot and friendly people. Also, there was great music at the perfect volume (not too loud but easy to enjoy).

This is a MUST! I was staying at the Urbana Hotel so very convenient. The empanadillas were good, I had a ground beef and a cheese & mushroom. The pina colada... THE BEST! Made with 151 rum!! I went on Friday and was so sad that it wasn't open any other times during my visit, just for the pina coladas! The owner was very nice, and gave great recommendations of his products that were all spot on. I originally ordered the pizza empanada but he let me know it's a basic cheese and sauce so it seemed like he really wanted to make sure his customers fully enjoyed their food instead of just paid for it! I would highly recommend if you're in the area. It has a nice park seated with shaded tables where all the locals come to sit too!

The best alcapurria in Puerto Rico. Octopus salad is sensational and the service even better. The owners are there and making sure the quality is on point. A must stop if you’re staying in Puerta de Tierra.

Great drinking food that you can bring into the Barra 5 bar next door. Definitely a good spot to a winddown after a long day.

Also great - they have a decent selection of vegetarian options - pizza or pesto mushroom empanadillas, veggie burger. Magna beer ♥️ They're pretty excellent empanadillas, but it's pretty hard to get 5 stars with empanadillas, for me. I'm sat outside in perfect weather at night, comfortably satiated, staring at a beautiful massive mural with Puerto Rican music playing at a pleasant volume behind me. Definitely recommend!
