I get sentimental when I come to San Diego. I always want to stop by and eat something from this restaurant. All the food is really good. I used to come here when my kids were little now they are adult one of them Married and every time that we get the chance to stop by when we go to San Diego, we do it. We used to live in San Marcos for almost 20 years. Now we’re leaving in Palm Springs California. I will never forget the two ladies who I believe are the owners of the restaurant and the girl the waitress. I don’t know her name, but she was always always really good to us and my kids And before my kids, When my ex-husband and Father of my kids When we Were dating he used to take me there all the time for spaghetti, pizza and lasagna beautiful memories I have from this restaurant . 🥰🥰🥰😇😇😇

THIS is old school Italian: smiling and professional waitress, grandma telling the story of making meatballs and sauce at 6am, everyone genuinely making you feel at home. Food is traditional with some family spins like slightly sweeter red sauce, superb dressings and a unique crowd pleasing pizza (my son said the best he’s had!). The decor is a priceless time capsule straight out of an East Coast Little Italy, sadly now mostly forgotten but living on here, way out west. Dining room could use some less harsh lightbulbs (small detail) but you’ll hardly notice the lighting after a bite of garlic bread. When you visit expect the Italian experience of family; soulful and generous, with a special touch which is so hard to explain. I guess I’d call it passion but it’s so much more. All is right with the world when you are at Sorrento’s Che buono!!

It's been a very long time since I felt so welcome almost like home treatment by the three wonderful lady owners who run this beautiful restaurant since I can remember. Their joyuous and sincere devotion to customer service is unlike no other not to mention the flavorful fresh ingredients and aromas emanating from my six to go De luxe pizzas, pure temptation while driving back to work for Lunch. Which restaurant owner helps you carry pizza and load up to your car and gives you a wine gift for complimenting them for my favorite pizza place in San Marcos while winking with a big smile? That is the True example of what a lovely Italian eatery should be like, winning the hearts of people one customer at a time.!!

What stood out most was the authentic sauce—rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Paired with high-quality cheese and a perfectly baked crust, it made for a classic yet elevated pizza experience. The service was outstanding. Rita, the owner, personally came out to greet us, which added such a warm, personal touch. Our server, Esperanza, was incredibly helpful and gave us spot-on recommendations that made the meal even better. This place isn’t just about great food—it’s about great people and a welcoming vibe. We’ll definitely be going back, and I wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend Sorrento’s to anyone looking for a top-tier pizza spot.

Absolutely fantastic little place. It was my first time there and I was treated like family. I cannot imagine the food tasting any better! When I tell you it was fantastic, I mean it! Upon leaving, the owner told me I would be back.. She was right! This is a place you feel pride about having in your neighborhood. I cannot recommend enough!

Love the energy of the sisters who own this place, always kind and attentive. This is my go to place for Ravioli and meatballs. The meat sauce is fantastic and the ravs are the best in town. Meatballs are flavorful and juicy every time. Love the garlic bread and always way more than you can eat. The portions are amazing, I always have lunch for the next day. Thank you for another amazing meal.

We had a great meal here this evening. We came based on recommendations for the lasagna. We were not disappointed. We ordered the lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs. Both meals included a salad and garlic bread. The garlic bread was so fresh, warm and delicious. Plenty of butter and garlic on the toasted bread. The salad was ready and filling. Both the lasagna and spaghetti were tasty. The service was great. We were greeted immediately and were lucky enough to grab the last open table. Our waitress was very responsive to our needs and gracious. Such a lovely mom and pop place.

Best Italian food in North County. Authentic dishes with very large portions. Beef ravioli with meatballs was great! Cheese tortellini with fresh Italian sausage was also great. Leftovers tomorrow!

Very nice old-school restaurant with good soul-warming food... We got the family dinner for two which comes with two salads (dressing of your choice), 6 garlic breads, two spaghetti with their special sauce, and one cheese pizza. Of course, we could not finish everything since the portions were huge! I really like the cheese pizza and garlic bread. I am not sure about their sauce. I think it is famous and a lot of people like it but I found it to be a bit too sweet for my taste. Also, be prepared to feel sluggish because there are definitely too many carbs... But definitely worth your money with the portion size...

Food was pretty bad. Sauce was VERY sweet. Tasted like someone just poured sugar into regular pasta sauce. Waitress got into an argument with cashier over my bill and they yelled at eachother for a few minutes while my party and I sat awkwardly in the restaurant. The place is always busy when I am in the plaza and it was busy when I came in so people like the food it just wasn't for me.
