This place is gem hidden away from I-35. Went on a whim to have something different. They were busy it was the dinner rush. Food taste great and a lot of meat. Service was great for only two people working. I will be back before my work trip is over.

We lived in San Marcos briefly for 6 months when we moved to Texas at the end of 2019 and I discovered this gem of a place. Since moving, we lived in Austin and now in Kyle, and I still find reasons to make the drive and come back. The cravings are real. Their chicken pita is unbelievable. The chicken shawarma is perfectly seasoned, the mushrooms and onions are so buttery soft, and the cheese is ooey gooey melted in the hot pita wrap, it literally makes me smile every time I take a bite. The fries are hot and crispy and seasoned well, and I love getting the garlic sauce as a dip option. I am a lifetime customer- I would be absolutely devastated if this shop ever closed or moved beyond where I can get to it within reasonable distance. My husband enjoys their gyro- which is very good, but I just can’t get away from the chicken pita. Support this local business!!

Oh yeah... been here a couple times now and consistently great. Fresh, fast, delicious. Why does their spicy chili sauce taste so much better than what I can get at the store? Liked it so much I'm representing it now and got the hat

SOOOO GOOD! The food is authentic and delicious, and portions and prices are just right! We live in New Braunfels, but it is totally worth the drive to San Marcos! Talk to Omar, he will take care of you. Mediterranean cuisine, very relaxing atmosphere.

Fresh feels like home cooked food. The owner was present and he helped us since it was out first time. The ricebowl was preety good portion and tastes amazing. Love the gyros and the falafel. Definitely a try put place

The best Mediterranean restaurant in San Marcos. I’ve tried so many dishes from their menu and I’ve enjoyed everything! It’s always so fresh and delicious. My husband likes the chicken tikka. I like the Mediterranean salad. Never a disappointment! All the staff are very friendly and gracious! Thank you Pita Shop! I’ll go again and again.

Totally loved the place! It’s a small cafe and soooo good food. We ordered Chicken Shawarma bowl and wrap and Chicken Tikka bowl and wrap and bowl and both were amazing!!!! Fries were soooo good and they give you a secret sauce which is yummm. Definitely try this place when traveling to San Antonio or Austin or when you’re in San Marcus!!!! The owner is such a nice person.

Had heard good things about the place and we were glad we went! Gyro was tender and hot and fresh. Fries were also well seasoned and cooked. But I have to give the MVP to the garlic sauce. O...M...G that was awesome! Do yourself a favor and get a side of it, it's worth it!

Okay, I'm picky. But this place is the jam!!! The Pitas are delicious, the owner is delightful, and the vibe is super chill. I'm 42 BTW and this place brings the good vibes out in me. I got the chicken schwarma pita and my husband got the Gyro with lamb. The fries are perfectly salted and flavorful, the pita bread is light, airy, fluffy and bursting with flavor!! Hummus... usually I only like flavored but this hummus is creamy and flavorful!! Go, go now!!

In the past nearly 35 years my wife and I have enjoyed Pita Gyros across the world. The best were the authentic tasting ones whether in Europe or at home, here in the U.S. We had been reading about this little shop in San Marcos which had authentic tasting Gyros so yesterday we decided to take a leisurely 40 min afternoon drive from the backside of New Braunfels to try the place out. We were pleasantly rewarded for our lengthy drive. The owner immediately greeted us. His warm charm, and that of his staff along with the VERY delicious and authentic tasting Gyros gets this amazing restaurant a full 5 Stars. The food was very fresh. The fries were cooked perfectly. And the salads were crisp and fresh as well. We plan to make this trip regularly in the future. I highly recommend them! The Pita Shop. Visit them and see for yourself!

Gyro was ok for rural location but not memorable. Staff very courteous. Fries were the star for me hot and delicious. Overall grade B+. Not enough to bring me back. Still worth a try since they have a high Google rating.

The service was great as were the sweet potato fries. They were served hot and were not greasy, but they had too much salt sprinkled on top. On the plus side, the food portions were large. My salad was fresh and the dressing tasty. However, the chicken was dry and minimal flavor. The stuffed grape leaves were also dry and tasteless. The sweet tea was sweet but not much taste. The atmosphere was too noisy. Overall, I give the Pita Shop a 7.5 out of 10.

I got the chicken shawarma club gyro. It wasn’t bad. The fries were fresh and the food came out fast. The portion was generous as well. Best part was the pita used for the meal, the dough was tasty and of a good consistency.

We had lunch when we visited San Marcos. The food is decent. Ordered falafel and chicken shawarma as it's suggested by the person on the counter. We did not like the falafel it was raw and had only greens inside. Chicken shawarma was good. It's not a must visit place if you want a Mediterranean food. We were looking for a good Mediterranean food and disappointed with the food options we found on their menu.
