El Rincon is an absolute gem! The Café de Olla is rich and flavorful, setting the perfect tone for a great meal. The emoladas are a must-try—perfectly prepared with a delicious blend of flavors. The enchiladas are fantastic, and the pozole is simply outstanding. Even the frijoles and chips that come out as an appetizer are fresh and tasty, making for a wonderful start to the meal. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic and delicious Mexican food!

If you're a fan of chilaquiles, this is the perfect spot for breakfast! The café de la olla and pan dulce are delicious. 😋 I definitely will come on my cheat day for sure! I can't wait to come back and bring my family

I would give this place more stars if I could! First, don’t be intimidated by the line—it moves quickly thanks to the efficient staff and kitchen. They start you off with complimentary warm, crisp totopos and beans, which is a nice touch. My mom ordered the chipotle cream chilaquiles with steak, and it was fantastic. The chips were fresh and crispy, smothered in a creamy chipotle sauce that wasn’t too spicy, and the steak was incredibly tender and juicy. I had the carne en su jugo, and the stew was packed with flavor, served with warm tortillas. We also enjoyed coffee and agua fresca—everything was delicious. El Rincon was such a pleasant surprise! If you’re craving a homemade meal, this is the spot.

This restaurant is a hidden Gem!!! The food and service is amazing. The menudo served with fresh corn tortillas is so flavorful, but the pozole is not far behind served with fresh corn tortilla chips on the side tasting like they just came out the fryer. Don’t feel like having soup well no worries there is something for the whole family from chilaquiles to whatever your craving as long as in the menu. Decently priced for the serving sizes provided. Don’t just take my word and try it for yourself. You and your family and friends will be regulars once you’ve tried it once. I love this place. They have some parking but since the food is delicious may get packed so if no parking is available you can easily find parking near the adjacent streets and walk a minute or two to the restaurant. 6 out of 5 stars. Este lugar sirve comida que está definitivamente deliciosa/riquísima!!!!!

They serve a spicy bean dip with chips before your meal. That alone is worth five stars. The chilaquiles are great, the chips were still crunchy when I was eating it. The service was exceptional.

It was my first time coming here and the food was great! So amazing haha I got the chicken chipotle omelet and my gf got the Chilaquiles with beef. Both were so good! We also tried the strawberry banana crepes which are very good as well! Def recommend. The staff was great as well! Super nice and great customer service.

small spot with ample servings in the heart of san ysidro. had the mole chilaquiles with chicken and 2 over easy eggs, very good, the cut tortillas were just the right amount of crispy... washed it down with the cafe de olla. a satisfying breakfast

The service was great. The food was okai nothing special. The red sauce is moatly tomato and the green sauce is pretty dicent.

Food was ok, kinda sad it wasn't better considering I got a house special... I guess Mexico spoiled me. The service was nice, average mom and pops shop. I won't go back because I don't think the quality matches the price.

I’ve been coming to El Rincón since it first opened, and I’ve always appreciated having a place in San Ysidro that highlights our community and culture. Unfortunately, my recent visit left me disappointed. I ordered the Green Chilaquiles, and while the dish looked appetizing, the salsa was very bitter and lacked flavor. The chicken was also a letdown, it would have been much better shredded, but instead it had a lot of cartilage and bone, which really took away from the experience. My daughter ordered the Green Enchiladas and, sadly, she couldn’t finish them either. It makes me sad to say that the food no longer has the authentic touch it once did. Lately, it feels like more of the ingredients are coming from a can rather than being prepared fresh. As a San Ysidro native, I want to continue supporting local businesses, but it’s hard when the quality slips like this. On a positive note, the staff remains very respectful and welcoming, which I truly appreciate. However, when it comes to the food, I would suggest keeping other options in mind until improvements are made.

This place used to be better in quality and customer service. We Ordered carne asada fries and they were a big order we didn’t mind paying the 18$ or so, but we added guacamole and they charged us 28$. That just seems overpriced, so they charged us 10$ more for a scoop of guacamole. They were also offering pan dulce and kept insisting we grab one as if it was free, I said two was okay which we were totally going to pay for and the waiter said “grab another one please for the child” as if it was courtesy, and charged us an extra 15$ for 3 pieces of pan dulce. We can get a whole box of pan dulce for that price. Like I said I don’t mind paying but the prices seem excessive for what it is. I Will no longer be coming here or recommending this place. It’s truly overhyped.

For over $40, our food was an underwhelming experience.My mole was watery, it came with rice, a small salad & 2 small drumsticks. Daughter's chilaquiles verdes also watery. Coffee was a sad experience. I was given a tiny plastic container with just 1 tbsp of instant coffee so I could make my own. Spoke with owner, no attempt to appease me whatsoever, charged full amount. Will never go back.
