Opinions de Sushi GoGo Santa Barbara
I love this place! The only sushi place I go to in Santa Barbara since it's cheaper than the other places but that doesn't mean the quality goes down with it. They take a bit to bring out food but thats because its still a high quality restaurant that takes time to prepare their food. I like the wharf atmosphere and my sushi always comes out fresh and tasty. The perfect hole in the wall place to go.
Such good prices for good sushi -- ESPECIALLY since you're literally right next to the water. It can get a little busy, but that's what happens when you serve good food for decent prices in an amazing location. Servers have always been friendly and work very hard to take care of everyone. Definitely my favorite spot to grab food on the harbor!
I give 5 stars because the fish was so fresh and it was quick nice service. But the sushi rice is really bad and they put so much of it. But the fish is delicious. Next time I’ll come back for sashimi. Also the location is awesome right in front of the water.
Updated: Sushi gogo is back! yay! They have really fresh sushi right by the harbor at a afforadable price! I have visited this place several times since they returned. ----- I was hungry and went here for sushi but they are temporarily closed due to violation of building code. (As of Dec 7, 2023). Hopefully they are back soon.
If you are in Santa Barbara even just for a day please check out this location. I had the chicken Katsu as I do not eat seafood and my husband had a few sushi rolls. We were very happy with our meals and the pricing. The location is so beautiful too. Right on a little portion of the pier.
Ate outside on the wharf...man oh man....this was the nicest, freshest shashmi we have had for ever! It was amazing! We also had a couple of the rolls - really, really good! Sitting outside on the wharf at a table was awesome....nice evening, great food! Thank you Mike and Ally 🇨🇦 🍁
Best sushi you can get. Rolls are served warm, and the fish is served thick and fresh. If you want a filling roll for lunch for a decent price (anywhere between $10-15, the $15 ones being huge and super extra) I definitely suggest this place. Wait times aren't bad, and you have a great view of the ocean. I honestly can't imagine anyone giving this place a rating lower than 5 stars. The eel is always cooked to perfection, and the yum yum sauce is an awesome add on for the rolls. Highly reccomend. (Is a local)
The best sushi in SB. Next to so many great spots so you can take it to go, our eat outside on the few tables. After eating all of our rolls, we wished we had more it was soooo good and so fresh. Anything with eel is super yummy and I love there shrimp tempura! Staff is friendly too!
One of the most unique sushi restaurants I’ve been to to date. The fish is awesome.
Great spot for sushi. Fresh and tasty and great people watching on the harbour.
Everything was really good and love the view from where you could eat and people watch especially with 2 toddlers. We went on a Monday and plenty of space and quick, would definitely recommend!
Always great service, food and views. Sushi go go special. Extra 🍚 and green salad 🥗. Watching the harbor go by
Has been my fav casual sushi spot in SB for the past 7-8 years. The fish is always so so fresh! Happy to see them being so busy all the time :) The value for money is the highest in town. Really appreciate you guys for providing such good food and good vibes right by the ocean!
Ten years later, I came here for the second time — this time to the seaside, enjoying sushi 🍣 and a different kind of life. It feels amazing 😎. Getting here by motorcycle 🏍️ wasn’t easy, but totally worth it.
Delicious sushi and best lunch special in town with Rusty’s pizza. Very friendly owner and professional & nice staff. Gorgeous location right on harbor overlooking the boat’s mountains etc. Don’t judge a book by its cover, the location is small but if you can’t get a table here you can take food to picnic communal tables next door at on alley… it’s really delicious here. Enjoy!
Sushi was delightful and I was so pleasantly surprised they use real wasabi! The miso soup was a miss for me, but the sushi was so fresh, a perfect temperature, and looked lovely. The restaurant is a counter you order at, but they brought out our food since we were sitting at one of their outdoor tables. They do not have a lot of seating available, but for lunch on a Saturday it wasn’t bad!
Amazing. Get the BSCR roll if you like scallops
The sushi here tasted fresh, no fishy smell or taste. I got the sashimi platter, baked green muscles and rainbow roll. Mmmmm good. My friends got the shrimp and veggie tempura, dumplings and a few rolls. They was only a few prices left standing 😁
Super great for a quickish meal!! I ordered the baked lobster roll and beef potstickes and ate it outside (there are no tables inside, so maybe not great if its cold out). Both my items were DELICIOUS. Service was also fairly quick. It was a little busy for them and I think I only waited maybe 10-15 minutes.
These guys focus on the product only. No hello or how are you, no smoke and mirrors. Just awesome sushi to go. Recommended.
Great casual place at the Harbor to enjoy the views and soak in Santa Barbara. All seating is outside with lovely views of boats. Super fresh fish given it is next to the fish market. Best deal in town is their Special Bento box shown in photo for under $12! Closes around 730pm so get there early....
Excellent poke bowl, friendly staff, beautiful view on the SB harbor while dining outdoors.
Excellent sushi. Fish is always fresh. Excellent place to sit and have lunch. Being right on the harbors edge means that there’s always lots of people-watching to do and the fresh ocean air and cool breeze is priceless on a hot day. On a cold day or in the evenings it gets chilly so bring a jacket. Oh the salmon bento box is amazing and so is the baked salmon roll.
Amazing sushi! Honestly the best California roll I have ever had. We ordered 5 different rolls and loved them all. Service was alright.. Not super friendly, but not bad. Our order came very quickly... We had all five rolls in a matter of maybe ten minutes. Great little hole in the wall place! Not to mention eating on the warf is also wonderful.

Never had a bad experience here, always great food, and my go-to food is the sushi burrito with salmon and tuna top-notch burrito. If I'm by Sushi Go-Go, I don't feel right not stopping by to get me a sushi burrito. The owner and his wife are great people who strive to give quality food...

Great spot for oceanfront casual sushi! I was surprised with the quality of the fish here. With how casual a spot it is, I didn’t expect the sushi to be that good! The spicy tuna really hit the spot. That being said, a few complaints: • the menu had no pricing listed. turned out to still be relatively costly, which was unexpected for how casual the ambience is… $10.75 is overpriced for a spicy tuna roll. • the lady at the register yesterday was in a very negative mood. I understand having an off day, but this was almost intentionally disrespectful after we asked for some of the menu pricing. Not appreciated. • the rice proportion was a bit much in both the rolls and nigiri selections… If it wasn’t for the quality of the fish and the nice location, I would have rated this place lower to be honest. Not sure if I’d go back given the plentiful options around town and the unfriendly staff member.
Good fresh sushi place close to the pier. Reasonably priced, and the quality was very good. We got the sashimi platter and different types of rolls. The only minor complaint was that we didn't have enough chairs to sit. I suggest to go early or very late after lunch time to avoid the long wait.
Delicious sashimi salad and sushi platter. Both were fresh and good quality sushi. It was a pleasant surprise since the restaurant looks low key and modest from the outside.
Casual harbor front restaurant with standard quality lunch special while the main entrees are better quality.
Very good quality food. Seating is a bit of a challenge, but once settled enjoy. Prices are average to high but the quantities are good. Had a family of three able to enjoy a good lunch and get back out to day activities quickly. A very good option for quick and great taste. Just a bit more seating would be preferred even though space is limited. Will come back again on another trip to Santa Barabara, I am sure.
Came here for a simple dinner with the boys and was pleasantly surprised with their portions and quality. Had a variety of their dishes including chicken udon, a curry bowl, a rainbow roll, and miso soup. All were served quickly and tasted excellent.

Good affordable casual lunch and dinner place on the harbor. Update 5.3.2018: Food quality dropped over all and the chicken tastes like the slices were poured out of a bag, warned and drizzled with old glaze. served barely warm. Loved this, such a bummer.
Solid three experience, especially considering price. No table service, but not clearly identified. Just directed at menus and then figured it out after a longish wait. Pay before eat, so tip is basically a bribe. Fish was shredded, not fresh cut. All disposable dishes, and soy packets. It tasted okay, but I would’ve paid less for good service and fresher food at brophey above. Probably won’t repeat again with a better option so close.
I haven’t been here since the summer of 2018 and remember it being better than it was today. Unfortunately the California roll wasn’t made well and fell apart as soon as I picked up a piece. They didn’t allow the rice to cool it seemed. The slices of fish for the nigiri were much too thick and as such, difficult to eat. Wasn’t a fan of the salmon. They’re not very friendly when customers order but the location is ideal with an amazing view.

Not sure how this place has such a high rating. Their prices are a bit pricey for okay quality food and you have to sit outside where there's very few tables but its at the harbor so its a nice view. Do NOT order anything with eel. The last 3 times I've ordered food with eel, the skin was left on and there were several bones. I had to pick apart every piece on my sushi roll little by little so I wouldn't crunch on any more bones. I've ate at many sushi places and have ordered eel but never had it served with the skin or bones. This wasn't an issue a year ago when I used to eat here...they must've changed their cooks.
I think the one star is too generous. I waited over an hour and a half to get my food without being warned ahead of time that the ticket time was going to be long. Other customers were getting there food before ours, and when I went to go check on my order they gave me attitude saying it was almost ready. (I had to asked four times with 15 minutes in between) When we got our food it was incomplete and when we showed an employee our food she raised her voice and touched our food with no gloves in front of us to prove to us that everything was there. I understand that it may have been a busy day for them, but it would of been nice to be warned ahead of time how long we were looking at for sushi. It would especially have been kind to have better customer service after we had already waited almost two hours for sushi.
We ordered two rolls, a bowl, and an appetizer. It took 40 minutes for us to get our food. When we ordered our appetizer, we had asked specifically what ingredients were in the appetizer. When we got the appetizer it was different than what was told to us. The sushi rolls were good…. However my partner and I both ended up getting upset stomachs immediately after eating. Do with that information what you will.
Great view to the harbor, Came out of this place feeling had the sweetest desert instead of sushi. If the sauce is that sweet, sweeter than desert it should be placed on the side, what if someone have diabetes or simply not asking for few hundreds of grams of sugar in their dinner, the food underneath could be ok if they left it alone but hard to say as it did not feel good after eating here. Will remember to ask for any sauce on the side next time
