Opinions de Lee's Sandwiches Santa Clara
A classic comes to the Santa Clara Square marketplace and certainly a great place to get a great banh mi or other Vietnamese staples. I got the Asian vegetarian / shredded tofu banh mi - filling, flavorful, and frugal ($8!). I've also tried the vegan caramelized "beef" which was very solid too. Their vegetarian egg rolls are delicious! I’m looking forward to frequenting this spot more often. There’s a few tables inside, not a ton of seating (could fit 10 people or so). Lots of great vegetarian / vegan options which is always a plus too. The marketplace can get crowded but parking isn’t too bad. I’d recommend this spot overall.
It’s a small to-go joint with a line out the door during lunch hours, the lovely lady in front is super nice to me. I love how there’s a banh mi bowl option to customize my order! Just wish they gave more protein. Regardless, I’ll return.
I was starving due to a long field work tonight, and my phone died out. The cashier there so kindly waited for me to figure out how to do Apple pay with my phone dead, and helped me pay with my card number. After purchasing, I saw they were having a 1+1 event at late hours and my hungry ass changed my mind and wanted to get them instead. The owner/chef was so accommodating to change the order and even gave me the meat pie for me to try. Man, their kindness was top notch and I appreciate their service for my starvation.
Amazing sandwich! Bread was fresh and crunchy on the outside, all the ingredients were fresh and tasted great as well!

Best lee’s sandwiches location in the South Bay for vegetarians and vegans. So many options! Been going here for a while. Not sick of it yet! Everyone there is always really nice. They run out of some vegan options because they’re popular, but they always have the vegan beef available. Yum!
I come here like 3 times a week. The sandwiches are always well prepared and the staff is super friendly. Their breakfast sandwiches are bomb.

Literally one of the best sandwich spots in the San Jose area - every time I've stopped by this specific location I've had a really delicious banh mi (with well-seasoned/tender meat and crispy-enough bread)! Compared to other restaurants in the area, I'm so impressed how much value-in-food you get. I guess that's why I come here often (as well as friendly service and a cozy area)! Will be coming back to try out the coffee:)
Picked up food to-go about 30 min before close. Ordered a BBQ pork bahn mi and crispy pork bahn mi spring rolls with tamarind and peanut sauces. Food was pretty decent but was not a crazy wow. I don’t think it tasted super fresh and it could be a reflection of near closing time. The portions were definitely good and ended up saving half my sandwich for tomorrow. I would certainly try again, maybe for lunch.
Good sandwiches. I had the Steak and eggs breakfast sandwich on a baguette. It was a delicious. This place is small but clean. The prices are not bad.
I've already liked Lee's Sandwich and if you are from the Bay Area you know it's been here forever. I always order the special #11 and I think compared to many other Vietnamese sandwich places, Lee's has really good cured pork belly. Looking at the menu it looks like they really diversified their menu for the picky and weird bay area folks but I just always order the special banh mi because that's what set them apart from other non Vietnamese sandwiches. The sandwich is fairly long so I don't think you will find yourself hungry afterwards. The price is Bay Area price but it's understandable because of the physical location. This particular location is small but clean and I have no problem with the service.
I had their sandwiches a couple of times now, I am not a big fan of their lemon grass tofu sandwich but their teriyaki chicken and spicy tofu and shredded chicken sandwiches are pretty good. It felt like their sandwiches were healthier when compared to subway. They have good proportions of meat/tofu in them which makes it even more tasty.
The place clean, staffs are very friendly, and the food I ordered is light and tasty. Recommend.

got the banh mi bowl. was so disappointed that my $14 bowl was so skimpy on the meat

As always, Lee’s Sandwiches never disappoints — everything is tasty and consistent every time.
I ordered a dac biet banh mi on the Grubhub app. On the menu it says the dac biet has pork pate, which I love. But when I got the sandwich there was no pate! While the sandwich was good, the pate makes the banh mi in my book, so I was pretty disappointed. On the app there is an option that lets you add additional pate for $2, but the description says there is already pate in the sandwich, so I didn't think I needed to add additional pate. I feel misled. I also got a Vietnamese iced coffee. It wasn't bad but a little too sugary and heavy for my tastes.

Spent a lot of $ for little value. Got 2 veg banh mi sandwiches that were very dry. We tossed them. Got one lemon grass tofu sandwich that was good. Spent $13 for a large taro smoothie that was just ice chips and liquid. I think they forgot to blend it. This is the problem with take out. You can do little once you’ve driven away. But I definitely won’t go back. Have been to other Lees in Southern California and haven’t ever been this disappointed.

First time there ordering a bowl! Wait a long time and check my order with Hau. Without double check, he gave me this roll! Mismatching protein(I ordered grilled chicken), and no extra corn, totally a different one. I asked “mine?” And he said yes. What! Probably a bowl in a roll is what this store provided and I left with confusion. Such a bad experience as first time customer.
Got there at 6:15pm on Friday. Door was locked and the guy inside just made a signal to tell us they were closed. Google says they close at 7pm, the sign on their window says they close at 8pm.
This is a better locale . One big gripe is hours posted on window and internet is unreliable. That just is plain wrong.

Rude! My drink was all ice, I asked to nicely remove ice and add more of the drink. They got mad and said if you don’t like it oh well
I took 4 vege egg rolls today, first time to this store. A little disappointed; vege in my freshly deep fried egg roll is icy cold.
