Knowing the layout of this location had me scratching my head, like how are y'all going to fit a Mongolian BBQ place here. But after seeing it for myself, I understood how they engineered the space for optimal flow and I'm honestly impressed. Walk into line, you'll be asked either a Regular or Large Bowl and one of the workers will hand you your tray and bowl. Once you're in you're basically playing tetris and seeing how much you can fill into the bowl, start off with the meat as that will be your solid foundation which consist of 4 meats. Then you'll move onto your veggies and lastly to sauces. I opted for Sesame Oil, Garlic, Teriyaki Sauce, and some others I forgot. Then you'll pay at the counter before they cook it, which is where you'll also grab your choice of drink. They have a really nice system going on, 4 bowls are cooked on the spot in a clockwise rotation. First dumping it on and getting a nice sear to it. Followed by adding some water along with teriyaki sauce to give it flavor and not to burn while doing so, they add noodles as well. Lastly the final dude glides it across a couple times before sliding it off the flat top and into a container. Once done, you're given extra options on the side to drench your meal in more sauces and or grabbing additional napkins and utensils. Overall, really happy we have a Mongolian BBQ place back at Valleyfair and will be taking my parents here like how they use to take me back in the day.
Omg this place is good and at a great value for what u pay. Lots of items to choose from. A assortment of different sauce to mix in and the best part don't worry about adding noodles in there cause they do that for u at the end. All in all the best vaule in the food court for what u pay. While writing this if u go for the large that's enough to feed 2 grown adults. Come eat here you'll be glad you did.
Mong Q is a Mongolian BBQ spot located on the second floor food court of Valley Fair, right near Din Tai Fung. The ordering process is fun and interactive: you fill a bowl with your favorite fresh ingredients, and then the chef cooks everything on a large iron grill right in front of you. Pricing is simple—they charge by the size of the bowl, so you can stack as many ingredients as you like for the same set price. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the food is tasty and satisfying. My only wish is that they offered a wider variety of ingredients and more noodle options to choose from. Overall, it’s a great place for a quick, customizable meal when you’re at the mall.
Who remembers when there was a Mongolian BBQ spot at the food court in @westfieldvf ?? 🥩🔥 @mongq_valleyfair is bringing it back and better than ever! Now open for you to build your own bowl with your selection of meats and fresh ingredients. They even got Dubai Chocolate Strawberries for a nice sweet treat after. So happy and a great addition to the space! 😋 Service is also super friendly’!
This new restaurant is just amazing! The noodles are springy and chewy and the vegetables are perfectly sautéed and crisp. The staff were friendly and accommodating, definitely recommend.

Love this place! The staff is so nice and the food had amazing flavors and came out quick! You get to select your own meats, veggies and seasonings to go on your rice or noodles and they also have Dubai chocolate with strawberries! I highly recommend coming in early because they do get long lines!

Loved Mongolian BBQ at Valley Fair! You can load up your bowl with all the heaping toppings you want—no extra charge—which makes it a great value. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were bold, and everything was cooked perfectly right in front of us. Super customizable and really delicious. Great spot for a fast, filling, and satisfying meal!
Good food, a bit heavy on the noodles (I prefer rice). I can't remember what the sauces are so I always have to ask. Price limits my visits.
I love this place so much - great food, fair price
Fast Mongolian bbq at the mall food court
Tasty and easy to get a good healthy lunch. Definitely going back

It's so good to finally have Mongolian bbq here at valley fair! Well the selection of meats and even vegetables are a little limited compared to Gengis Khan in great mall or great khans in eastridge. Mong Q can undercut their prices by $2 with their "regular" sized bowls look like the same size that you get at the those places for $17 or $18. Of course there's a large sized bowl that is $18 on par with Gengis Khan. Just like Genghis Khan as well, you can select your meat and vegetables on your included plate first and fill up however much you like. Once you get over to the cashier then you can pay and then once it gets to the chefs, they'll add in the noodles for you. I do notice if you do overfill it a little bit they usually go one round to defrost the food first and put it back on your plate temporarily, and then you can recover a little bit what's spilled on your tray. However, over here, once they take your bowl and put it on the grill it's there forever so you got to make sure everything can get on the bowl the first time! For the meats they have beef and a beef brisket along with pork and chicken. There is no seafood alternatives anywhere. Veggies are also limited to with missing stuff like celery, red onions (but do have regular onions), corn, and even a couple of missing sauses like seafood and korean bbq sauce and lemon juice. Overall, for some of the more messy stuff like sauces and noodles, the service will gladly help you out with that instead so you don't have to deal with that yourself which is pretty nice! Overall after it's been put on the grill and I tasted it. I feel like this is a little bit better than Genghis Khan, but a little bit less nice than great khans over in eastridge which is a good position to be in! I hope more of these type of restaurants can appear, and I'm so glad there's one here in valley fair!
Pretty good food spot in the food court. Compared to other Mongolian BBQ places, there is no lamb here and there is fewer topping variety. Sauces are a bit bland, so I usually add extra scoops. Good portion of food for the price.

First time me and my wife coming here. The thing I didn't like was the food. Very bland. No real taste to the food like other Mongolian places. We were disappointed.
The food is good. But the way this place is setup is a bad, the self serve area is pretty messy. And the large bowl isn’t even worth it, it’s barely any bigger than the small one and you can get more out of small one by just stacking and shoving stuff in the bowl. Service at the end of desk is not great, staff seem to have a attitude when they’re putting your sauces, and then after you pay they throw your bowl to the side into the queue to cook them.

Requested for regular bowl at $14.99 a pop. Bowl was short and narrow that you couldn’t really fit that many food items on it without spilling over. Don’t like that they pour the sauces for you instead of doing it for yourself thus preventing customers from saucing it up to their own personal taste. Line goes way too slow because the grill they use is so small that it can only accommodate four dishes at a time. It felt like I was in line waiting for the subway to arrive. Lol. Requested for rice instead of noodles and was given only about half a scoop which in the end matched the tiny amount of ingredients that had been cooked from the regular bowl. Too make matters worse, they charged me for a large bowl at a whopping $14.99 a pop. Check your receipts people!
There are no soy sauce packets provided when you buy your food to go. When you go eat out somewhere aside from the food court, sometimes even though you already put the sauces you still want your food to taste differently but there's nothing to add to because you're no longer in the store.
Did not cook my noodles long enough

Bad experience! This restaurant is actually located in the food court on the 2nd floor. The person serving gave me a tiny amount of sauce, and the food ended up being completely tasteless. Not worth it at all.
The man who greeted us at the front asked my girlfriend "what, are you guys poor?" Because we ordered regular sizes instead of larges.
