When i started to pass this restaurant, my stomach nearly slapped me in the face. I could not believe the aroma of the chili dog chili that i was smelling. It was the closest to the original chili dog aroma that i have smelled since i was approximately 7-8 years old. The flavor took me back to my youth.

Food is always delish glad I found the chilli cheese fry burrito on Winchester Blvd I got the Mac and cheese and chilli ugh they forget the chilli really. Pretty rude too it was later on in the evening.

This was my 1st time here, that being said here's a real review. Drive thru attendant was actually peppy, she was very nice and got my order correct. The moment of truth... We open our food and everything is fresh, tender and delish! 🙌 epic success! Totally recommend this place for a quick bite on the go. Its a small location as most of the restaurants of this chain are, they have a unisex public bathroom, small parking lot and a few outdoor tables. Place is not hard to see in regular traffic since it looks like the old school weinerschnitzel, its kool. The location looks like a safe area and they are a clean place, restaurant and parking lot area. We are pleased.

For Hot Dogs, they're the best I wish I knew exactly what it was that made the hot dogs are Wienerschnitzel so good. I know that Five Guys and now Burger King sell Hot Dogs as well, but they just don't compare. Five Guys does use peanut oil to cook as a distinction. The unique Yellow-slopped roof style that is quintessential to each Wienerschnitzel is a highly recognizable. It means that I am going to get at least two corn dogs, two chili-cheese dogs, and two chili-cheese burgers. It's even good once it has gone cold, so I know it's good food. I am grateful to have this restaurant so close to my home and also open so late (til Midnight)

Loving this place. Quick service for your preference of hot dogs, burgers or sandwiches. Also serves desserts. Great prices. There isn't any dine in service here, but they do have outside tables w/umbrellas.

I arrived at 1 o'clock pm. I was surprised at how fast I got my lunch. Employees were friendly and working! I love the Jalapeno Poppers and their Chili! They have Daily Specials so be sure to ask or check the signs! Went again and the employees were fast, efficient, and friendly! Don't be afraid to order at the window. The drive thru gets very busy and the line of cars go out to the street.

Update: Ordered Polish and fries and they were really good!

Ever since Costco shut down their polish dog at the food court, I’ve been searching for a replacement. I finally found it here under Polish Deluxe. The good thing is that it tastes even better here. The polish dog part is juicier and tastier. The bun is nicely soft and the condiments are fresh. The not so bad thing Is that the dog is shorter, but the easy solution is that I buy two. I’ve also had the soft serve cone, which is an excellent dessert or snack. This location has a drive thru. You go right into the middle of the building. It looks super old school architecture which adds character. Been back many times. Highly recommended!

Love it. They are friendly and provide good customer service. The atmosphere is okay, but it should have a little more shade like bigger umbrellas for those who want to eat their food on the benches/tables outside the store.

I was down in Santa Clara for the Humdiddlydoo Extravaganza at the WhackArama Auditorium there on Pickleback Avenue, and passed right by the Wienerschnitzel Restaurant...WOW! I know where I'll be stopping for lunch! Nobody beats the Wienerschnitzel's hotdogs...Caspers comes close, but close only counts in hand grenades, and certainly not hotdogs. I couldn't make up my mind between the hotdog or the hamburger, so I told the gal to surprise me...What a surprise! It was Amazing! ☆☆☆☆☆

There's no inside dining here, so the atmosphere is either at outside tables with cars driving by, or in your car. The food is always fresh and hot, the service courteous, and usually very quick. And it's affordable, even if you're pretty strapped for cash.

Vegan options?! Yes please. I always liked the shape of their buildings but finally looked at what food they served. The service at the window was friendly & quick, food was hot and affordable. The prices on the sign were less than the charged priced. Also, the AI drive thru is annoying! It kept asking if i wanted to upgrade my veggie dog to premium beef (uh.. no) than was non stop with requesting ding dongs, etc for the up-sale. Also asking what flavor drink I wanted (i didn't order a drink) I had to pull forward to talk to a real human to order. But the food is worth a little hassle.

Great service other than Kraut dog had no kraut on it when I opened it up. Just a bare bun with a bare hotdogs in it. Unfortunately I had already left the drive thru window. Food was good.

I'm glad that I can still bring memories back I now live closer to the city and there are no Wienerschtzel any north of Santa Clara that I know. Wow, those childhood memories of stopping after school to get a chili cheese dog or a corn dog and chili fries talking to friends, or just getting that late afternoon craving too bad there wasn't any DoorDash Uber Easts or any company to deliver back then as there are no Wienershs here where I now live. Now whenever I get that craving I have to travel south. At least I can order now if I'm going to a friend or relative's home to visit and reminisce on those good times. I wanted to give the restaurant 5 stars but I have to travel to it so I'm giving it 4 starts What's your favorite childhood eating place? Is it still around?

How could you not like mini corn dogs?? And the chili cheese fries? I think this is the only place I can get a strawberry milkshake and it tastes real vs imitation strawberry flavoring. I say 4.5 stars. It's a classic drive thru. Only one that still does dogs. What happened to hot dog on a stick??

The food is always freshly made so when you get the food it's always nice and hot. However, the location is horrible. It's a tight squeeze trying to get into the drive-thru. If there are two cars in front of you, you are waiting on the street.

This visit netted me the hottest, freshest hot dog I've ever gotten here. It was perfect. Only miss was no mustard in the bag for the corn dog.

My wife aka Momma is from the Yay area. We've eaten at Weinerschnitzel every time we're in Cali. This is the favorite location of mine since it's right next to autorow aka stevens creek blvd. They've always been fast, courteous and flavor consistent. Always grabbing 2 chili cheese dogs and a kraut dog. Just some favorites. If yah want that fast dog, this the spot.

They have a variety of hot dogs chili dogs corn dogs, but they also have hamburgers try one of their hamburgers lettuce tomatoes pickles very good but the best part 2 is Ahab desserts Sundae's Ice cream cones ask about if they were very good.

The place sells corndogs, burgers and schnitzels, of which i can definitely recommend the corndogs and schnitzels. The burgers average. The food is ready without much waiting time, convenient location for drive through orders and its also great for those that walk as there are 4 tables available, which are kept fairly clean.

California is not a great place for hot dogs, but Weinerschnitzel is ok when you're jonesing for some. They're never great, but usually good. The ice cream is good too, and the prices aren't bad. Wish this was a restaurant location, but it's not. The one closer to our house closed.

Quality of my fries left a lot to desire. I was completely unsatisfied.. However, my boyfriend was able to get a burrito that not all locations do.. He was extremely happy and his burrito tasted great. But their ice creams stole the show.. They are amazingly delicious!! Much better than mcds (down the st) totally worth every penny.

If you like the old time nostalgic era when A&W was a real drive up, not drive through, then you can truly enjoy this quick service, tasty 😋 simple food, even though you do drive through, literally! Right through the center of this little "A" frame of a building. You're kids will love it. That's The only reason I for Atmosphere I give it a '5' 👍

I love the desserts here. Good value for the calories. Yes, no kidding. They are sooo good, but come with plenty of energy to burn. The lemonade soft serve drinks are great too!

Nice people. Chili dogs are average, but considering there aren’t that many places where you can get them, happy to have this place around. The Coke tastes like Coke instead of weird leftover random flavor like at the places with the 100-in-1 flavor machines.

Cold dogs, warm shakes

Inoffensive hot dogs, including chili cheese, sauerkraut, and surprisingly good Chicago versions. The dogs themselves are kind of small. I declined to take a picture of the sad chili cheese dog I got A misleading name for the chain, as they have no schnitzels of any kind, much less Viennese. I wouldn't complain, except they pretend to have a German association with their Oktoberfest bratwurst.

This Wienerschnitzel is the living embodiment of being exactly what you paid for. The location is a bit run down, and the food isn't especially great. But I the end sometimes you want a cheap hotdog. The staff is also incredibly nice

Last of a dying chain.... prices are lil on the high side considering the size compared to a Costco hot dog and soda... but you can't beat nostalgia and the cravings for chili cheese dogs/fries and a good old corn dog.

Came here for a late night snack . Service was great by the ladies in the back were not wearing gloves. Touching the buns and stuff with their bare hands. Very unsanitary and a big turn off I didn't even eat the burger. Management please make sure your workers are wearing gloves at all times

Weinerschnitzel is always a great place as their menu is simple and as long as service is good. This place has good service all the time but this time they were out or the froot loops sprinkles on the cone, oh no!!!! Hey not their fault, still a thumbs up even if they made their cones smaller.

My sis chili cheese fries were good. Corndog was good. The chili dog, looked slightly off color. Didn't taste bad, but I thought is ftesh,should be pink in appearance.

It's known for quick bite and we stood in queue for 15 minutes! Our only interest was jalapeno poppers - which was great and hence it gets 2 dates. Employees were great so that gets 2 stars. And standing in line for 15 minutes take way 3 stars!

Tldr: employees need to get their stuff together, food was small, but the food came fast & tasted good. FOR GOODNESS SAKE We had to repeat our order one too many times to the cashier (no help from my parents who kept saying the names of the items wrong) and they still got it wrong! My dad asked for a strawberry LEMONADE. The receipt said strawberry SHAKE! WE GOT A CHOCOLATE SHAKE!! It wasn't even busy! But the food was good... small, but good, and the service was fast.

I never ever ever go to this place without coupons and what's really nice nowadays with smartphones is that you can look up online coupons without having to register your personal information. Two of my go to coupons would be one which is the chili cheese dog french fry combo because I think the french fries are truly amazing at this place really hot to order and very crispy and the other coupon that I order would be the one that has the chili cheese dog chili cheese burger and chili cheese fries and you can easily find those online coupons on Google. Never ever ever go to this place and pay menu prices it's definitely not worth it. The only time that I go to this place as when I have a really bad craving.

The employees had hard time understanding orders and messed mine up. They had hard time when people were trying to use coupon codes they didn't know where or what to do. The food is always good if your in the mood for that stuff. I would rather eat at other locations that wienerschnitzel has in my area..

Hot dogs were cold there was hardly any chili on my chili dog and there was so many onions I could have covered 6 hot dogs instead of 2 I got. Second time this has happen.

Was going for a mini corn dog snack, when I saw on the menu a Bacon Avocado Chicken Schnitzel. So I got one to go. When I bit into it at the stop light, I found that the sandwich had some kind of hot chile pepper which I don't eat. So I went back for either a replacement sandwich or my money back, because there was no mention of hot stuff in the sandwich description. Girl I spoke to, was very nice about it. Even gave me a small vanilla cone while I waited for new sandwich. I received the replacement and drove off. Again I bit into the sandwich at a stop light, and this time there was no Bacon! I was already cutting it close to pick up my child from school, so I wasn't going to go back a second time ... or ever again.

Stopped at Wienerschnitzel after church this morning. So, disappointed in the service. The young man taking my order never greeted me when I pulled up to the drive-thru; he basically said "what can I get you"! As I pulled up to the window to pick up my order, once again no greeting, and this time, no thank-you. He handed me my food. Never asked if I wanted mustard or ketchup, only handed me my card and receipt, all the while looking over his shoulder to his colleague. DUDE! Would it kill you to smile at the customer and make eye-contact? Not even a thank-you from him as I departed. Boy, he is definitely a candidate for refresher customer service training!

They don't know how to take a order apparently. You order taking the promotional ad they send out and you tell them you want a certain order and they somehow get confused and give you the wrong stuff. Not a place to go if your ordering for multiple ppl to take home. Probably good for you to eat solo since I'm guessing they might not mess up a simple order but hey they can always surprise you and maybe mess that up too.

My girlfriend was craving hotdogs out of nowhere so I said no problem I’d go to weinerschnitzel since they’re open til midnight. I pull up to the drive thru at 10:45pm and there’s a short line. The car in front of me left out of nowhere. The lights in the lot turn off and I pull up to the mic and they said they’re closed already. I look at the clock and it’s only 10:50pm. I bring up that the hours online say open til midnight. “Sorry we’re closed.” I asked what time is their ACTUAL closing time then, they said 11pm. I said I got here before 11 and have been in line.. “Sorry we’re closed”. Super rude and just brushing me off

Horrible during the rain. Drive through speaker is automated, and it takes long to order. Meanwhile, it's pouring rain, and window is down.

Picked up a small Reese’s freezee on the way home and when I went to eat it found several pieces of plastic blended up into it. Tried to notify the staff on duty so they could check the ice cream machine, but no one would answer the phone. Hope no one chokes or cuts their mouth on the jagged plastic, and God knows if it is contaminated with anything. Will NOT be back.

As we pulled up, we saw another car driving away from the window, presumably after receiving their order. As we were about to order, a voice blares out of the speaker, "WE'RE CLOSED." We mention that closing was listed as 12:00 midnight, but we only receive the same response: "WE'RE CLOSED." We decide not to push it. Maybe they were closing due to a tech difficulty or some other unforeseen circumstances. Besides, we knew there was another location not terribly far away. We needed to look it up, though, so I pull out my phone to look up another location, and about 10 seconds into that, the employee comes back onto the speaker and yells, "WE'RE CLOSED." I try to respond that I understand and I am just looking up another location really quickly, but as I do, the employee is incredibly rude and keeps repeating, "WE'RE CLOSED. WE'RE CLOSED. WE'RE CLOSED. WE'RE CLOSED. WE'RE CLOSED." Over and over again. It is no use getting through to them. Very rude. I thought about it afterward, and perhaps there was a trigger we were setting off inside by being at the voice box. If that was the case, it would have been nice to let us know instead of yelling "WE'RE CLOSED" repeatedly while we searched for another location. I ended up pulling away from the box so I could focus. We ended up calling the location in south Campbell to check their hours before going there. At least that was over 3 hours later, regardless of it being a different time from anything listed. Reiterating main points: 1) Hours may be deceptive. I went there because it was close by and I knew it would be a while till I got home. My wife and I decided to walk up to order instead of drive thru. We stood for a few mins and all four workers inside looked at us and didn’t even have the courtesy to tell us “we’ll be with you in a minute” they looked at us and kept working. Then we decided to leave and about 2 mins later another customer (better appearance) arrives and instantly like two of the workers stopped to help. They consistently miss items on my order (5 for $5 should have 5 items, not 3 or 4 items). When you aren't to call them about the error, they hang up every time. To thet staff: Os it too much to ask to do your job and accurately, or to learn how to count to at least five?

Omg,I wouldn't let my worse enemy eat here, Staff members don't understand English, they don't wear hand gloves while they're preparing the food, drinks, smoothies, milkshakes, floatys, and Sandie. Remember when you had the Ball Park franks in your hand at the grocery store, and your mom switched them out for the "Bar S" brand ones that were obviously inferior, WAY skinner, and about a third the price? This is a lesser dog than those. First time having the famous dog. I ordered the Brisket Dog. I got the Mustard Dog(?), extra mustard. Okay, Mustard is fine, this is really about the dog! It was flaccid and warm. It lacked any snap of a grilled natural casing. It was small. It was bland. The texture mealy, when it wasn't outshone by the bun. It greatly underwhelmed. The chili-cheese fries a disappointment of orange and yellow... Sauces? They were Potato...ie I guess? So there's that. I waited 15 minutes for the 4 cars before me to get through. 15 minutes. 4 cars. And I got a floppy dog and soggy fries. The lemonade was tasty though! This must truly be a "ya had ta grow up with it" kind of thing, because I'm missing the appeal entirely. The service was very friendly, the price was reasonable considering the quality, and I'm glad that's one I can knock off the ol' checklist. But I'll never be back.

This is my second time encountering issues at the drive-thru. I ordered a number 1 all-beef hot dog with chili and cheese, and once again, one of the hot dogs came without cheese. I called to explain the problem, but the lady I spoke to had poor customer service and didn’t offer any apology. Instead, she asked me what I wanted to do about it.
