Opinions de Cafe Iveta Santa Cruz
We get breakfast here often and sometimes lunch. Especially good food together with especially good (traditional) espresso drinks. Their scones are also absolutely top quality and the apricot is my favorite! Service is also friendly and efficient…there is lots of room upstairs in rainy weather (remember that?) and outdoors was renovated about a year ago so more pleasant space available now. Try eggs and greens for quick healthy breakfast!
Little bit expensive but very delicious tosts and sandwiches. And also coffee and chai latte are done well!
The food is just so very good! Simple things (like I had eggs & greens with side of sausage and chocolate twist) are delicious, pastries are fresh and really good, coffee is great. A bit pricey, considering portions are normal in size and not those monstrous giant plates you get in most places, but really worth every penny for me. I definitely recommend this place for breakfast and desserts at least.
I was there early. Lots of outdoor table space. The folks I was with swear by their BLT sandwich. Plenty of parking.
I had a delicious tuna melt sandwich here today. Best ever! The atmosphere is nice, like a coffee house. They serve breakfast and lunch and have a good patio.
Literally everything about here is good. The sandwiches, coffee, and pastries are delicious! The atmosphere is cozy and there are plenty of great study spots, not to mention the staff is super sweet! Especially love the second floor for studying. Definitely one of the best cafes in sc!!
One of my favorite coffee/sandwich shops. Spicy vegan js my go-to along with the scones. They make the best London fog I’ve had in town. They also play great music and have lots of seating!
Excellent local cafe with comfy upstairs and outdoor seating. Cozy atmosphere inside. The espresso drinks are great and I highly recommend their latte and cappuccino. The food is really delicious and I very highly recommend any of the breakfast sandwiches.
Had their limited time ham & cheese and it was really good. The bread was soft and slightly toasted. The ham was soft and melts in your mouth. Great sandwich! Also had their green smoothie with it. A bit thick but healthy!
Love their sandwiches and coffee. Dining outside in the patio is great when the weather is sunny and warm. The Cafe is tucked into the back of the parking lot and is not obvious from the street. Can be easily missed for first time goers.
I love the spicy egg biscuit! It comes with a perfectly cooked egg and a dollop of cream cheese on a very unique tasting biscuit. In fact I like it so much that I've never tried anything else, and I go there every time I'm in Santa Cruz. Their mimosas are also delicious, and sometimes they have fresh squeezed blood orange which is my favorite! They are generous with the champagne and all the girls who work there are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I don't write reviews for restaurants but I had to for this one.
We ordered a catered brunch for 130 people from Iveta for the Sunday after my wedding. Lisa was incredibly helpful throughout the ordering process and setting up at the hotel where we had rented a ballroom for the event. Everything was platterized beautifully and, more importantly, tasted delicious. I think everything looked even better in person than in the online photos. Folks loved the breakfast burritos and egg sandwiches and desserts. I had to book a caterer last minute because the hotel we booked didn’t have enough staff, so I hadn’t tried the food before. It was great! I’d definitely recommend catering from Iveta.
Delicious coffee, pastries soups and sandwiches. Always feels lucky to have this place in our town! Great place to get some work done too!
Hidden gem for Santa Cruz Westside locals, I risk my life to even mention it. Don't come here, it's too hard to find, nestled in the back of an industrial building. Nevermind the pleasant patio and welcoming service, not to mention the excellent food and outstanding baked goods. Best to pass it by, find some skimpy avocado toast down the street, and leave the scones for us.
Really tasty scones! I got two, the lavender white chocolate was the best thing ever. Chicken pesto sandwich was good; I wouldn't recommend the turkey provolone though, the bread tasted stale.
Really nice and relaxing cafe. Excellent lavazza coffee and I really enjoyed my bacon avocado toast
I fell in love with this place from the first visit. I have already tried toast with wild Alaskan salmon for breakfast. Today, I am enjoying a latte with oat milk and a warm butter croissant. Everything is fresh and delicious. 😋 The staff is kind and friendly, and the atmosphere is amazing. ❤️
Chill location, good friendly service. Iveta Cafe is a great little local spot. Vegan street tacos are great. And the best scones around. "Morning tacos" also rule😋😋
It is so good to come here for a brunch. Ordered a bacon avocado toast and a cup of latte before. You can dine inside or outside. Or it will be good to grab some and go to west cliff to have a walk. So glad that this one is still open during the pandemic.
This place is adorable. Small but plenty of space outside. Lots of patio space. Tables and chairs for dining or computing and a lounge area with outdoor couch like furniture. They have pastries, raw items, and a full menu. I only got a lavender latte with their homemade lavender syrup and oat milk and it was amazing. The best lavender latte I've ever had and I get them a lot!
I worked with Cafe Iveta to cater an event at UC Santa Cruz and I have nothing but good things to say! We ordered spa water and lemonade along with assorted desserts and cookie boxes. There was barely a crumb left at the end of the event and everything was delicious! The catering drop-off and setup were also very prompt and professional. I would use them for any local catering needs!
Went there specifically for scone mix and also ordered the caprese sandwich, which was one of the best I've ever had!
Fabulous! Best sandwich ever!! Has wonderful coffee and pastries too ❤️
It's one of my favorite places for a quick stop in Santa Cruz. Food tastes fresh all the time. Pastries are homemade. They are fabulous.
Total Gem of a place , best pastries and amazing breakfast at an even better price . Great vibe , fresh food.Brunch is great , from breakfast sandwich to basic breakfast.
Super cool cafe with vegan options and don't forget to grab a Aperol Spritz.

Cute cafe. Great coffee!! Amazing staff. Big hearts. So kind.
Gourmet dishes, delicious unique flavored scones and desserts. Tucked away in a commercial zone, nice outdoor and indoor seating and friendly staff.
10/10 perfect cafe for writing or working in a chill, quiet atmosphere with amazing food and amazing drinks. The food is LEGIT and it’s all made in the kitchen on site so it’s FRESH!!! The music is relaxing and not too distracting. No frills, and not too expensive. I’ve been all over the world and I’m pretty sure this is my favorite chocolate croissant.
A casual cafe for simple breakfast and lunch fare. Lovely outdoor setting with both tables and sofas. Sauces on sandwiches are very tasty. I love the BLTA. Scones are the best, light and more-ish. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Limited menu. Service can be slow when lots of customers are in line.
Best coffee I’ve had all week, good service from staff and the lemon bake is an absolute treat!

Great place to get some coffee and breakfast. We come here a few times a month and it's always good. I like the fresh, organic ingredients. The portions are a little small which is okay. The prices are a little steep, but with COVID and the great ingredients - I understand. Happy to pay a little more. They also have a great outdoor dining area. Enjoy!
I had the avocado bacon toast, which had good flavor. I especially enjoyed the lime and cilantro mixed into the avocado spread. As for service, the cashier started out friendly, but by the end when I paid, not so much. I don't know how else to explain it. I just felt a weird vibe from her.
Very good menu selection, sweets, bagels, coffee, various breakfast and lunch items.. lots of seating in and outside. Parking is available.
This is a nice cafe that is tucked away and walking distance from W.Cliff and Natural Bridges State Beach. I’m giving 4 stars because I paid almost $40 for 2 breakfast tacos, breakfast burrito, and a dirty oatmilk chai. My drink was delicious and had 2 shots of espresso. My friend said the regular coffee was really good. She got a regular coffee, toast topped with avocado, tomatoes and bacon, and a breakfast burrito. Her bill was about $35. The breakfast presentation was nice and we both agreed that we’d return. I didn’t try the pastries. There is a small shop with nice kitchen items for sale. There is an upstairs seating area as well as a comfortable patio. Although it’s a little expensive, I felt the quality of the food made the price worth it.
I love this place. It's clean and perky unlike most places in SC (the clean part). They have great egg dishes for breakfast and an awesome gluten free bread. I just wished they stayed open late into the evening. It's hard to get some work done because it gets interrupted when they close. And it would just be nice to hang out there later.
Good food, good atmosphere. Especially nice when it's warm and you can enjoy the patio.
Iveta West is a cozy neighborhood cafe. Food was great. If you want good coffee, there are other places nearby ;) I gave three stars for the service because the place was not clean. Both the table and the floor were dirty.
Salted caramel latte was waaaaay too over salted. Other then that - breakfast burrito and honey pear bar were delicious as usual!

Attractive indoor and outdoor seating. The roast beef sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Crispy bread on the outside, and warm and soft on the inside. Delicious! A nice find. This area, Westside, is clean and safe. It is a converted industrial area with many cafes and breweries, much cleaner and safer than downtown.

This is a nice spot with both indoor seating and outdoor seating. In general the place was clean and there was a line at the counter. They actually serve alcohol (sangria and local wine). As others mentioned, this is a family owned local business. The food was OK, nothing great but I thought it kind of lacked flavor. I got the breakfast burrito which was kind of flat. Same with drinks although they do have a variety of smoothies and options for vegans and vegetarians. My biggest problem with this place was with their service. First, they are way overpriced for the food and service they provide. On top of that, after you pay at the counter you get an option to tip them with the lowest option at 18%. So, you buy your food at the counter, then when your number is called, you get your food and then after you are done eating, you are required to bus your table and take your empty food trays and cups etc to the trash. So there is really no service . So with grossly overpriced food, and no service why exactly am I tipping them.,that too before you actually get your food!! Now to add insult to the injury, when I went to ask the lady at the counter what happened to my drink, she claimed I must have already taken my drink!!. And she stuck with that claim until another girl working there showed her where we were sitting and then the lady apologized but seriously!! I don't want to get their rating too low but really this was a gross experience.,and the bill for 2 people with drinks for brunch came to be close to $109.
Expensive, small quantity, only slightly above average quality food. Not good online ordering service. Our online order seemed to be fulfilled after in- person counter orders, even though online ordering was encouraged and we put in our online order before other customers had even arrived. We had a 45 minute wait for 2 sandwiches, a breakfast burrito and a salad. It possibly could have been ready earlier, but we didn't know because no one communicated to us at all. We had to keep going inside to check. All food items were on the small side. My 17 year old daughter who eats like a bird finished her chicken pesto sandwich in 5 minutes. Add 2 coffees and one kombucha -- pay $80+ for the privilege. Many things from our order were forgotten, like utensils to eat a salad, napkins, avocado on a breakfast burrito and 2 croissants. Had we not eaten on the premises, we would have really been disappointed and annoyed. With so many other places to eat, not sure if this place is worth a visit.
Very amateurish soup, onion and tomato had no time to cook down, or flavors to meld, then cream added, and still it was tasteless . Very salty roast beef sandwich, could have used some green and crunch. Below average bread choices. Not worth the price. Mostly very sweet and accommodating staff, however one, didn't greet new comers, just stepped up to the register completely without presence.
there were many problems when I went there this morning, first the matcha I ordered was barley mixed Amd there was clumps everywhere, 2nd the avocado toast my friend order had tomato seeds all over and she’s allergic also there was barley any avocado on the toast. And 3rd I asked for no salsa on my burrito and it was packed with salsa and took 20 min to make. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the coffee cake I orderd was good.

While the place is clean and seemingly tidy the food is grossly overpriced. The ingredients are fresh seeming but the food is assembled lazy and uninspired. I’m not asking for Michelin star quality but the tacos and Sandwich we had were both about 13$ and I wouldn’t pay half that for them. I’m never going back such a waste of money. The lowest tip option is 18% on the iPad and that’s before you get your food and drinks which they call out a number for. I think this scam falls in line with, unfortunately, many restaurants today which prioritize presentation and aesthetic over quality and affordability.
This is my favorite cafe in town but I just learned the owners have made donations to WinRed which is pretty abhorrent in my opinion. I’m having a tough time, I go there several times a week. I hope I’m wrong but the donations are public, so unless I’m misinterpreting something :|
