Opinions de Cat Cloud Companion Santa Cruz
Stopped in with my family of six while on vacation. Breakfast burrito was super tasty and big enough to share with my kids, who stole it from me after one bite. Espresso was delicious and my husband enjoyed the yogurt bowl. Service was friendly and helpful, even as the place was packed.
Ive been drinking their coffee for years, ordering online and occasionally stopping in SC for a bag when in town. First time eating breakfast. Delicious food, highly recommend.
😻😻😻 best coffee, burrito (no aioli please) and avocado toast and I know what I'm talking about! Go enjoy the lovely space on Swift, and the lovely people 😇 Update: so happy to report that since our switch to plant based, Cat & Cloud still delivers delight! The vegan burrito is fabulous!
Modern location with great coffee and yummy snacks. Whether you need a mid day pick me a up, your morning coffee to get through the day, or somewhere to catch up with friends, this is a great location to visit! Their coffee is delicious, and it's roasted in the back of this location and distributed to their other stores. On top of buying coffee and other drinks, you can buy ground or whole beans to brew at home, with tons of options available from blends to single origin beans from specific farmers.
The service here is always on point—super friendly baristas and staff. I do wish the lattes were just a little hotter, but they’re always really solid and look great too. The breakfast burrito? So good. Cute seating, lots of parking, and just an overall chill vibe. Last time I was here they were playing a 2000s throwback playlist and it was such a vibe. Loved it haha.
Delicious breakfast burritos and coffee drinks. I like the hot chocolate, lattes and iced coffee. The breakfast burrito is one of the best I’ve ever had! Love it with the salsa too, never get sick of it!
Cute and swanky location with the warehouse look and community vibe. My friend took me there to have the experience of their avocado toast, and now I know why. She had been raving about it and knew I would appreciate it. It is absolutely beyond delicious! I literally made noises from the deliciousness and had to stop the conversation to fully take in the taste experience. Fabulous. I will crave and return again just for that plate of pleasure.
Food is amazing, drinks are amazing. Every time we come, we are welcomed with friendly service. We are just visiting, but visit often. It is a favorite for the whole family. This morning we got a burrito & the quinoa bowl with sourdough on the side....because it is a must if you like sourdough. Abso-freakin-lutely amazing. My husband got an iced mocha with vanilla. We will be back tomorrow before we have to leave. With all the options in SC, it says something that we keep coming back here.
This is one of my favorite coffee spots. The coffee is always good. They have a great selection of food, bith sinful and healthy.
Awesome spot, coffee is top notch, the food is excellent and the staff is very friendly! Beautiful space inside as well. The burrito is probably the best breakfast burrito I’ve had. The bacon is crispy and delicious and the proportions are perfectly balanced! A must stop in Santa Cruz
cat & cloud is a busy place that has some pretty solid breakfast options. i come to this location every now and then as i’m often nearby. my go-to order is a flat white, & the breakfast burrito if i’m feeling hungry. the flat white has a nice smooth foamy top while the burrito is (in my opinion) one of the tastiest you can get in the area despite it being a little on the smaller side. the service here is also consistently pleasant. last time i went, i ordered a flat white & turkish eggs. some old guy snatched my drink off the counter the moment it was ready which was seriously annoying, but the barista noticed what happened & immediately remade it for me🫶🫶🫶 as for the eggs, they were a unique start to my day, although i’m not sure if i liked it enough to order again. definitely get the breakfast burrito
Cat & Cloud Coffee is such a gem! The cappuccino is absolutely amazing perfectly balanced, smooth, and consistently well-crafted every time I’ve visited. It’s honestly the perfect place for a coffee snob who appreciates high-quality beans and expert preparation. What makes the experience even better is the staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely happy to be there, which gives the whole place a great vibe. And if you visit the Swift Street location, don’t skip the breakfast burritos — they’re easily some of the best around. If you’re looking for top-notch coffee and a warm, inviting atmosphere, Cat & Cloud is definitely worth a stop. ☕️
Cat & Cloud Coffee is a great spot to have breakfast, brunch, snacks, quick coffee run etc. The parking wraps around the building with a one way driveway if you can't find street parking. The staff is welcoming, attentive, and produces flavorful fresh quality food, superb coffee and drinks plus excellent service to top it all off. They are balancing flavors and giving you something nourishing made with love. It's about a 5 min drive or less from Natural Bridges great after a walk to get something tasty. There is a roastery at this location. Their house coffee is a must try. Will definitely be back 5/5 stars!
Great varieties of food for brunch. Had breakfast Burrito and my partner love her Umami melt as well. We highly recommend this cafe to all who will be visiting in Santa Cruz.
Best coffee shop we've found in Santa Cruz. The food was delicious, the menu was impressive, the coffee was fantastic, and the hot chocolate was the best I've ever had in my life (no lie). The inside has a great vibe with really unique, feel-good artwork, the service is friendly, and they've got lots of vegetarian options. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito (you can switch the meat for avocado if you're vegetarian), and the overnight oats (which were topped with edible flowers and so were just the right amount of bougie). This location is also super close to Natural Bridges as well as various overlook areas, so you can eat inside or take your order to a place with a killer view.
Great service, fun atmosphere, delicious food. My decaf cappuccino was bitter/burnt, which I've found to be the case at many high-end coffee shops. Turn down the temp!!
I think it starts with the very helpful and knowledgeable staff. The coffee is very good, and I like how they make a clear effort to bring their coffee farmers into their business and share their stories. The breakfast burritos are top-3 I’ve ever had, and I live in LA which has the best ever. This is a great spot to grab a coffee or meal, or even to get some work done for a few hours; which is what I normally do when I visit Santa Cruz.
Cat & Cloud serves, sends, and satiates. I always get a coffee and I am never disappointed by their food. The coffee is GOOD. Their service is sweet too. The Barristas actually like their jobs and it shows. I recently noticed that they add an extra .50 cents to every order in order to offer their employees healthcare which they may choose to have or not. I’m curious about that. Overall, I’m super impressed. You can tell the people who started this cafe must be passionate about coffee and quality community spaces. Who else would sprinkle tiny purple petals on one’s meal? On a side note… do they even like cats?
If you're looking for a place for good coffee and good light meal in Santa Cruz, I'd suggest checking out Cat and Cloud! Cozy atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal with friends. Highly recommended their Breakfast Burrito! They can make it into vegetarian version also, I love to add their miso mushrooms with my burrito, absolutely fabulous!
They made me a custom breakfast sandwich in a croissant with poached eggs, avocado, bacon, and sprouts. Omg good. Thanks guys! Appreciate you.
The restaurant had a great atmosphere, with attentive young adults who made sure you were well taken care of. Jacob, in particular, stood out—always smiling and incredibly fast! The service was seamless, and the team made the experience even more enjoyable. They served bread with avocado and sesame seeds, along with many other selections on a healthy menu.
Love the flat whites here. Best I've had in a while. The breakfast burritos were also very delicious. I saw reviews that went both ways on the burritos, which is odd to me... I loved it. They also have some non standard coffee options, like paleo latte (blended coffee, butter, mct oil). Outdoor seating could be improved with some umbrellas and shade options. All the employees were super friendly and helpful.

America has come a long way in 'coffee culture'! Great coffee & industrial open ambience. Cruzy rap tunes playing, but may need a bigger speaker...Food was served with exotic flavours. Partner had the Green Goodness & the chick peas were exceptional!!! Crusty & flavoursome. My Turkish eggs were cold, unsure if that was supposed to be? Friendly staff & as mentioned, great coffee!
You know you’ve found a good cafe when every barista is covered in art tattoos. CCC did not disappoint, with great service right when we walked in the door. Beautifully lit, with bag hooks under the counter and aesthetic plates. We had the breakfast burrito and espresso tonics. Both were delish and somewhat reasonably priced.

I've not had any food here, just a cappuccino. It was very tasty with nice foam art, but lacked the foam "cap" of the standard drink. That's pretty common in these parts so I don't fault them for it. Service was excellent. The store is very clean with lots of tables, inside and out. Personally I find the atmosphere a bit sterile but it would be a good place to read or do some work.
I got the "best burrito in town". It's good but mainly because of the chipotle aoli, but absolutely not worth the 40 minute wait. I don't plan on going back.
Friendly spot for a strong, petite sized morning cappuccino. Lots of happy energy and lively sounds.
"They have the best breakfast burrito in Santa Cruz ", they say in the reviews. Gave it a try and it's good, crispy potatoes, nice bacon, grilled tortilla but no cheese and zero spice. What happened to the Jalapeños? The avocado sauce is fresh and nice but again, zero spice. Maybe I'm spoiled on New Mexican breakfast burritos but this is just an okay burrito and at a high cost. The coffee is boutique, "single source, sustainable, ethically harvested, organic, blah blah blah." Does anyone ever check to see if any of these claims are true or is this just another feel good yuppie appeasement like the whole recycling thing turned out to be? The coffee was OK. The space is nice and airy, can be a challenge to find an open table and parking can be tight. I wanted to really like it but it's just OK.
Wow, I thought that on a Sunday morning, all the way on the edge of the city, the place would be almost empty—but it was packed! On the upside, a lot of people were just grabbing drinks to go, so we had no trouble finding a place to sit. People were coming and going quickly, so even others didn’t have to wait long to find a seat. We waited about 25 minutes for food, which was totally fine. The Turkish eggs had a very sour yogurt, which made the dish feel a bit too sharp and lacking in softness. The eggs were nicely shaped (haha) but perfectly runny inside, so no complaints there. The breakfast burrito was great, and the guac dip tasted amazing. The pastries didn’t look particularly exciting, so we didn’t try any. The filter coffee wasn’t bad (for the U.S.), but it lacked complexity, even though it was supposed to be a naturally processed one. They actually offer several coffee options, but we only tried one. I’d definitely go back—the place had a great vibe.
The pricing here is deceptive, with the “temporary tariff surcharge” on top of the “health contribution”. (Just raise the prices on the board.) 2 drinks and a pastry came out to $25(!). I was going to get a chai but the barista warned that it would be too sweet, so I got a matcha, which was grainy and too bitter. The baklava was very tasty.

1. First, let me say that the service is always incredible here. The people who work here are always extremely helpful and sweet. 2. The place is roomy, sunny, hip but not exclusive, family-friendly but not full of screaming children, so in short, able to serve all comfortably. It's a little cool in the winter time, so not terribly attractive for me, but that's not exactly a huge problem since I live quite nearby. 3. I am, however extremely disappointed yet again in the kitchen :/. I really loved their old staff's vegan burrito. I don't know if it is the same people or if not. However, I have been being given a vegetarian burrito every time I order a vegan burrito and unfortunately I've ordered to go and not noticed until biting into it later. This is not really something I want... :(. I specifically ordered vegan, not vegetarian...and I noticed the grease definitely was BACON. I'm not someone who makes a huge deal about veganism or even vegetarianism myself, because I can't afford to be. I live on SSDI and I adopted veganism as part of my medical plan. It's helped save a lot of money too! But other people who are definitely looking to avoid certain things like pork or egg really, REALLY need to be aware that this place is a) not listening in the kitchen, no matter how great they are at the counter b) they definitely don't care enough to look at your order closely. So please, look at your order if you *do* decide to eat here, or order something else. Otherwise, I really like this place. Ok EDIT: THERE WAS BACON IN THIS! ACTUAL BACON! Edited again: I took my burrito back, since I do live a short walk away and they were very sweet and gave me a refund and a new, vegan burrito at 3:30pm or so, which is near when they close. So that was really very nice of them. :) What happened: there were two numbers as mine (65) and we'd both ordered the breakfast burrito, but apparently mine was vegan and the other woman's was not. I had placed mine at the end of the bar where I was sitting and didn't see anyone move the number, but apparently she must have been handed my burrito earlier or she took it later. I looked closer and the name on the ticket was not mine, it was Anna. But the staff knew about the mix-up before I went back, so it seems that the other woman must have made the discovery first. Kitchen staff walked right past me, and to a group of twenty-somethings to ask if their burrito was vegan...just maybe remember I'm alone and come back for a reason, not because I am refueling on caffeine like a robot lol. Also, this may be because I came back at 3:30 and the kitchen was closing, but the potatoes were unfortunately soggy in the vegan burrito while the potatoes in the regular burrito were nicely crispy, although bacon grease may be the culprit here. Not everyone has the talent of frying potatoes using only vegetable oils...:). Extremely sweet if not particularly thoughtful staff, quality ingredients, up and down delivery. Thank you Cat & Cloud for my vegan burrito. Your staff is very polite & considerate.
Victim of their own success. Coffee, food, pastries are all great but 30+ minutes to get a breakfast burrito is too long especially when there is no seating left. Consider switching to buzzers instead of the #s it's too loud to hear.
The place is always busy and generally food and coffee are good so that's great, but they really need to slow down and take better care. Ordered a breakfast burrito without Chipotle sauce. Waited 15-20 minutes for them to bring it out. Took it home opened it and there was Chipotle sauce all over it. So of course I brought it back. They were apologetic and said they'd make a new on the fly. (Fast) I'll say that customer service was great and I was super surprised when another team member came over and handed back my money. $15.00 so that was super cool but would rather of had not come back. Finally 15-18; minutes later (not on fly) someone brought me the newly made burrito so I drove it home. Opened it and the tortilla was literally raw and wrapped very poorly, the potatoes weren't hot or crispy.. I'm just saying at a time when food is so expensive (15.00) for a tortilla, eggs and potatoes with a piece of bacon the ingredients better be high quality (which these are) and cooked to perfection (missed the mark). 2 tries and neither made the grade! This was a major Fail. Maybe it was just a bad day :)

I’ve been here a few times. Unfortunately when I stopped in today, I guess I didn’t understand that their purpose was to”grab and go”. I stopped in to work, my laptop battery was low, and was told there were no outlets. I had just ordered a coffee, and it’s a half an hour drive home with traffic. I see an outlet on the wall above a window, I ask a staffer if I can use it, they said sure. Problem solved. Then someone approached me and said I cannot use the outlet let because it’s a hazard ( it was above a window rather than down low). I said I can’t stay if I don’t use it, I just bought this coffee, and there are no other outlets. He told me that was the whole purpose of cat and cloud, that it’s grab and go. I pointed at my coffee cup, which was for here. And I said then why do you have coffee and food for here? He said that’s a great question. Any way, he put my coffee in a to go cup and I left. I can’t say this was a good hospitality experience, and I won’t be returning.
