MacKenzie Bar & Grill

We had my mom's 92nd birthday party here today. We had 10 adults and two toddlers. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The lunch selection was varied and the food plentiful and delicious. Even with the active toddlers and our boisterous family, the staff remained attentive and supportive. We all had a marvelous time and plan on more future gatherings here. The view was spectacular and the remodeling of the venue recently was very pleasing.

Quiet, relaxing view of Pasatiempo Golf Course. Good food at reasonable prices. Better than average portions. No rushing you out here. Take your time and enjoy the view. Wonderful cocktails too.

Good service. Attentive waiter. Had a good BLT on English muffin with an egg inside. Very tasty, but a bit small. Im glad I ordered a side of fries with that. I'll be back for sure.

Went for lunch with a friend and we really enjoyed the relaxing feel to this restaurant, a bit upper scale. I had a real Good Tasty Hamburger with a side of coleslaw, I enjoyed every bite!! My friend had a cocktail with her Club Sandwich and she is really picky about everything when it comes to eating out but she had all positive remarks about her meal! The service was also pretty impressive so I will surely be back again soon!

Decent place to grab some Mexican food. The portions are a bit small for their apps and their tacos so you`ll probably be full after spending over $30. I had the enchiladas this time and it was just your typical salsa verde with shredded chicken inside. Nothing spectacular. The mimosa`s were great! Really strong and had some great flavour though :)

They have a small breakfast menu and all the options are inexpensive for this area, around $12. I had a mushroom cheese scramble with their home style potatoes and coffee. The scramble was fine though the flavors were mild for my taste. The potatoes were disappointing, soft inside but almost leathery on the outside, I think they had sat too long in a warmer. The coffee was not good, again I don't think it was fresh, that it had sat in a pot. Service was good, not too invasive however they checked in regularly. This is a place if you're into golf and want a bite afterwards. There are too many really great breakfast spots in Santa Cruz for me to return.

Even though it was only 15 mins. the Executive Chef refused to take our order. Even our waiter was in disbelief. We took our business elsewhere. We will probably go back, we do like their food, specially brunch but the service needs to be a little more proactive to make sure they don't let the "rules" affect their customer service. Next time perhaps offer a cocktail to get your guests to wait the extra 15 mins?

Had brunch on Mother's day. I ordered the eggs benedict. As they aarived I noticed there was no Hollandaise sauce on the eggs. I proceeded to cut into my eggs. That's when I noticed that the Canadian bacon or sometimes Ham had been substituted with lunch meat ham. 3 slices to be exact. As it was Mother's day I chise to let it slide. This was my first visit and my last. I know it's at a golf club, but for 24 dollars make it right.
