Opinions de Casa Manana Santa Maria
Always good food. The service is excellent. They care about you. Very prompt. Food was good. Had carnitas with shrimp. Very good.
Delicious Mexican food. I enjoyed it very very much. I went there as a 10 year old child. I was pleasantly surprised to see them still in business.
Excellent food, good prices. Everything here is amazing. Especially the macho nachos and the Number 1, can't go wrong. Friendly atmosphere:)
The best salsa and chips in the Santa Maria Valley!!! I had my favorite pairing, cheese enchilada with green sauce and a shredded beef taco, along with beans and rice.
I've been coming here for 40 years the last 30 with my wife every Friday. it's a small place with great food and service.
I'd not stopped here before on my travels North but will include this place in the future. Good food, nice people, reasonable prices.
I've always loved this place. I have not been here in 10 yrs and when I went to eat the service and the food was still the same. Love it
The service, and food, were great! I've been going to Casa Manana for 45 years and never had a bad meal.
They had the best beef chimichangas. They had good steak tacos, and good beef things in general. The beef is great. Nice staff, fresh, authentic food.
Great food, friendly service, feels like visiting a family restaurant!
The classic definition of a great whole in the wall local place. The beans were fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and the visit. Staff was efficient prices were reasonable. Nothing fancy just good food
This is the only thing that makes me wish Santa Maria was just a little bit closer. Casa Manana is by far the best Mexican food within a hundred miles of San Luis Obispo in either direction. It's tasty hot authentic and the prices are great. Don't expect much for atmosphere because this place is in the heart of nasty Santa Maria. There are bars on the windows and there's not much to speak of in the way of decor but this place makes some mean Mexican food and is the tastiest around
Love the cheese enchiladas! Rice and beans always delicious and I could drink the salsa. Also highly recommend the shredded beef in any dish, and the guacamole tacos are fire!!! The service is always on point, been eating here since I was born.
A long established family restaurant. Love the food, the red sauce, the chips & the service. Another place that stays in my memory after years of good grub. I consider going to dine at Casa Mañana a real treat.
We love Casa Manana have eaten so many things on menu. But our fav is menudo with some shredded beef tacos on the side! Love the art work and ambiance nice chill place!
The food here has been the same great recipes for years. I enjoy Juan the server. My favorite dish here is huevos rancheros. They have excellent chips, salsa and guacamole
Excellent since 1965! Every time I visit SM Casa Manana is a must eat while visiting. Same great food and people since I was a kid back in the early seventies!
Great food. Anyone who is looking for some authentic Mexican food should definitely stop here for dinner. Unlike a lot of restaurants that call themselves Mexican food restaurants, this place does it up like it is supposed to be. One of the best in town.
Had me a little lunch date with the husband and I ordered the Chile Verde dinner plate and it was truly delicious!! I can’t complain about anything on my plate it was all delicious.
Always get the guacamole taco, chile relleno and rice and beans. Some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had.
We have been coming to Casa Manana for years. The food continues to be excellent. It is reasonably priced for good Mexican food. After a couple of years, still love the food.
Aside from some new staff (some of the old staff still works here too), the color of the walls has been slightly updated (gone are the grimy white walls, in favor of a light taupe), and inexplicably the booths were all moved to the middle of the room and the tables to the perimeter. The booths in the middle are mostly fine, except there are two rows of them, and they really need a divider of some kind. The old carpet has been replaced with tile.
I've been coming here for over 50 years and the food has been consistently good and authentic!
We’re moving and stopped at Casa Mañana for lunch. The staff is friendly, and the service is fast. I recommend the shredded beef chimichanga
I've been going here since before I was born. I've since moved away, but make a point to come to Casa every time I visit. The food is perfect every time with friendly staff and very good prices.
I understand how this place has been here for so many decades. The food is great and the portions are sizable, the building, however, is quite small. I'd call ahead if you are trying to seat a large party, but even with a large party they manage to give great service. I had the macho burrito and it is a burrito the size of my arm. Their asada is delicious and their breakfast burritos are decent as well.
I grew up eating here. Such a nostalgic place for me. That good hole in the wall kind of place. Like anywhere they have their mehhh days to outstanding days; regarding the food. Overall I would definitely suggest this place. Everyone I have taken likes it.
Delicious food, wonderful service and kick back environment.
Been going here for at least 35 + years and love it. Food always stays the same. I was shocked a couple of yrs ago when I had to leave my meal for a little while and discovered they do not have a microwave. They heated my food up and it was just like I had just gotten it. Was told the father refused to have one..... Great food and great ethics! Love my Casa!!!! Oh and remember when you're complaining it took a little time, fresh food made from scratch usually does. ENJOY
Great family establishment, on Central Coast Santa Maria for a very long time. Great Mexican food consistent in quality and taste. Staff very friendly and family-oriented. There is a great new Taco Tuesday special. Tip you can also ask for chunky salsa that they bring upon request.
This was our first time here and the service was great! Lets talk about the food. If you want authentic, great tasting Mexican this is the place. Seriously, I had a combination plate and my mom ordered a chimichanga it took very little time from the time we order to the time we were eating. Delicious. I will be back.
Fantastic Mexican food served by a great and friendly staff. The beans and cheese are so good, as is the salsa that comes with the chips. Plus, my Arnold Palmer was a wonderful - it was perfectly balanced which is so rare. Its my grandmas favorite place for a reason and I am glad she introduced me to it.
I love Casa De Manana! Very homey, amazing friendly service! The chicken enchilada plate with rice and beans drenched with salsa! Amazing!! With a nice cold Horchata! Cants go wrong! And there chips and salsa are amazing! Also with chicken tacos with guacamole!!
Casa Manana is one of the best Mexican restaurants that I've ever been to. Whenever I want Mexican restaurants I try to go there even though they're all the way in Santa Maria and I'm in Grover Beach. There are good ones around here and I do go around my area but I cannot get over how good I always have my food at Casa Manana. The staff is amazing the chefs are excellent and the fact that they do not allow a microwave in their establishment is wonderful
Love the burritos here. They are good and their service is amazing. They have been in this location forever.
A very different style of Mexican food than you get at most restaurants, but my family has always loved it every since I was a little kid and that was in the 1970s and 1980s. We will always count Casa Mañana among our favorites!
Guarantee you can't get any better than this if you want really good authentic Mexican food. Casa Manana seems to have been here forever I've gone there for over 20 some years now and I've never been dissatisfied. Family-run and I was very impressed to find out that they do not have a microwave. The father said years ago if you have to have a microwave then the food is not fresh and you do not microwave any of my food so he has kept his word and to this day it is my understanding there is no microwave here so you can only expect the best
This is my second review regarding my meal. Manual was our server. I have not had a server as good as he was in a while. Great food good service can't recommend them enough. Good food good service good atmosphere
The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the food is excellent. It's a wonderful place for the girls to come together on a taco Tuesday, enjoy good food, a margarita, and catch up.
This place is small but mighty! I ordered the Tri-Tip fajitas. Absolutely amazing. Food was hot. The server was friendly. Service was equally as good. My wife ordered chicken fajitas and she was in love! There was a little wait to get our food. I'd wait again. Great job! Total meal under $40
I had the enchilada, chile relleno guacamole taco plate. The beans are delicious. It's a well established Mexican restaurant. The salsa and guacamole are delicious. Our server was great. Will come back and dine in again.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Casa Mañana, an authentic Mexican restaurant, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! The food was absolutely delicious, packed with flavors that truly transported me to Mexico. What truly stood out was the friendly and attentive staff who made me feel welcome throughout my visit. Their warmth and hospitality added an extra touch of enjoyment to my dining experience. If you're craving delicious Mexican cuisine served with a smile, Casa Mañana is the place to go!
Such a great hole in the wall find! We had a change in plans for a wedding rehearsal dinner, and needed something fast and last minute and Casa Mañana came through. Their food was so authentic and delicious. Their staff was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely visit this place if we visit this part of cali again!
Cute little restaurant with a small interior, clean, and a nice atmosphere. Very nice servers. My husband ordered the large carnitas quesadilla and he had to stop himself from eating the whole thing. The boys each got a kid sized cheese quesadilla with rice and refried beans. I ordered three tacos, one hard shell shredded beef, one hard shell ground beef, one soft shell chicken and guacamole. All were delicious, if a bit small. Not a bad price, though. The water (we all just had ice water) was strangely delicious and refreshing, so I’m not sure where they get it from but keep getting it from there! They were out of tamales but I’m glad for it because in the end my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach. The free chips and salsa were devoured by my kids. The salsa tasted house made, but I don’t know for sure. Either way, the salsa was very flavorful with a light background heat. My son discovered he loves Mexican style rice, which is great since he’s usually SO picky. The refried beans were really good, great flavor. I highly recommend stopping in!
Chips and salsa (it’s different) but the food and service was good.

Best Mexican food in Santa Maria! Tasty chicken tacos, cheese enchiladas, beans, and rice. Not super huge plates, recommend adding a shredded beef chimichanga with the meal to round everything out. Good local restaurant with a mellow family vibe. Bring cash for this place. Gracias Casa Manana!
Family and I have been coming here since the 1970's. Food and service is still great generation after generation. Very nostalgic for us and a great local family business.
Took my sister here for her birthday. It had been 10yrs. since I had been there it was like a time capsule food was good prices were reasonable service was good
I absolutely LOVE this tiny, hole in the wall restaurant. They have the most fresh beans and great salsa. The food was so good that I was able to finish my entire plate lol which I rarely do. I had to order more since I wanted some for tomorrow. And the portions are huge!!!! Highly recommend for a quiet lunch or dinner. Great staff and drinks!! Fast friendly service with great food!!! Can’t wait to go back. Took my 90 year old father for lunch and he loved it too. And he hates everything lol!
A classic. Old fashioned charmer on Broadway. Cozy, comfortable interior. Attentive friendly server. Meal arrived quickly. Big portions. First time trying this restaurant. Will go back. Lots of parking.
I'm new to Santa Maria and have been having a great time trying all of the different Mexican restaurants, of which there are many. Casa Minana has been around forever apparently, and is a local favorite. After trying their food, it's my new favorite as well. The food was excellent, restaurant was quaint and very clean, and service was on point. Also,as an added and important note, the majority of Mexican restaurants in Santa Maria only serve Agave wine margaritas. So far, Casa Minana is the only Mexican restaurant that I have found in Santa Maria that has actual tequila and great margaritas!

First of all this resteruant has won the areas BEST for ten years straight ! They have been in very VERY good bussiness since 1960 and have many loyal regular costomers that come weekly ... not too many resteruants have even came close to lasting this long. And although once in awhile you might get a crappy server ... that is not the fualt of the resteruant or the management or owners, it is the individual who is only doing what has to be done to make money and really doesnt care bout the costomer a resteraunt management can not force a person to have a great way with people and isnt always aware that there workers are rude and what not. To all those who have made complaints and bad mouthed the resteruant all i got to say is ...it wont help your resteruants bussiness slamming Casa Manana im sorry that many mexican resteruants have come and go or dont do as well ...the only other resteruant in this area worthy of speaking of is La Mejor De Jalisco....it too is great but they specialize in seafood ......nun the less this resteruant has lines of people out the door at times .....its a gem and it is one of thee finest in 805.
Good food.... chips were cold, salsa is good, but unfortunately refills on chips with cost you extra.
Very quick service and nice staff, clean tables as well, many options on the menu with fresh food with great flavors.
Been going here for years. Very good chile verde. I love the chips and salsa. Very small, fairly questionable location. Good place for locals who have loved it for years. bad place for adventurous tourists.
First time here. Drinks were great and prices were very reasonable. Totally will go back
Great food. I was not disappointed in any way. It was only thing open during these times. Im glad i tried it out. My wife says this place is awesome, so we went and it was only place open for sit down. Grabbed a few beers and had the special mexicana, so good worth the 20 min wait ( cause of cool time) thanks Jason for the great time and excellent food.
Have enjoyed this restaurant for thirty years. Use to take my daughter there. I think they have tastiest salsa in town. I sometimes crave that, there chips and pork enchiladas.
Main dishes were very tasty and fresh but the rice was dry and tasteless and the bean were very tasteless too. Those of us who only eat Mexican food when we dine out look forward to the beans and rice too!
It was a great small town kind of Mexican restaurant! It had good food and a relatable staff! Pretty good place to eat!
Excellent food and margaritas. Got two pitchers of the Cadillac margaritas and they were excellent. The chicken chimichanga was good and filling. Recommend a go if you want good Mexican food. Will not disappoint.
I got the No. 3 combo (cheese enchilada, Chile relleno, and shredded beef taco). The only note I have is the taco meat wasn't seasoned so the taco was very bland. But other than that, everything was wonderful! Great service and got our food quickly, even in the middle of the lunch rush. Very impressed.
Many years since last visited. And many years since a decorative update. Food is authentic Mexican, fresh made, hot and tasty. Service was good but could have been better with less interacting with coworkers about non work related issues.
I stopped in for lunch at this very nice old school Mexican restaurant. Service was good as was the food, beans had been allowed to burn a little not terrible but still..everything else was very good I would eat there again .

Price is right. Service is friendly . Not a vegan friendly Mexican restaurant, however and they still use lard in their refried beans . However, my eating date who is not vegan totally enjoyed his enchiladas
Don't like their salsa, or chips, friendly service, had macho nachos, they were good, spouse had chili verde, was good but made with beef not the typical pork.
It's been a staple in Santa Maria some time now. The food was good this visit but I've had better. The service was great and atmosphere was good.
I found the Chile Relleno tasty and the price affordable. Our waitress was nice, but the greeter whom brought us our beer was downright having a bad day or just plain mean. I didn't feel welcome at all until our lovely waitress showed up. I won't be back.
In an authentic environment, food is good, not great, but with more than ample portion sizes. It’s conveniently located, with plenty of parking. One must watch carefully for the entrance to parking, located immediately adjacent to the restaurant. Miss this entrance and you’ll be in the parking lot for the motel next door.
So casa manana is a little restaurant. The food is good. Better than what we had been having at other restaurants. I got a number 5 platter the taco was crunchy the cheese enchilada was tasty. The sauce was tasty and not too spicy. The tostada was yummy too along with the beans. I would recommend this restaurant.
It was average. Chips were stale, salsa was like tomato paste. The build-your-own tostada salad was good. My sister's burrito was average. Service was good.
The food is better than average. Salsa has a nice little kick to it. The dining room is small and cozy that gives off authentic Mexican vibes. The bathrooms can use some work though. We got 2 meals, 2 kids meals, and an appetizer which set us back around $85 but that’s the new norm around these parts. Overall, we will be back
Service was great, salsa was delicious. I ordered the Tri tip fajita’s and it was the most dry over cooked Tri tip I’ve ever had. I’ve lived in Santa Maria for over 15 years and have been wanting to give this place a go, I won’t be back based on these dry over cooked Tri tip fajita’s
Average salsa. No heat at all and basically tasted almost like straight tomato sauce. Otherwise, descent food

This place needs an overhauls the food is aight. But nothing been changed in this place since like 90s or earlier. It wouldn't be as bad if the place was clean more than half ass done. Tables barely wiped down. Menus got leftovers on the pages. The front windows of the place got a crap ton of food crumbs. Also you can see how dusted are all the beer bottles are above the cashiers station. This place is grandfathered in and getting a pass for the lack of standards from the old heads who eat their.

The food is not great in comparison to other Mexican food I have had in the local area. With so many choices between Pismo all the way down to Lompoc, a mexican restaurant has to try a lot harder. The salsa is watery and bland, the drinks are over price, they only accept cash, and the food is average. I would recommend trying somewhere else.
I went in in the morning it was a Saturday and there was only like about maybe six people in there it took them an hour to give me my breakfast which was only scrambled eggs bacon ham and potatoes the food was very very hot the plate was very very hot the food tasted like it was in the oven for a long time like if they put it in there forgot about it I burned my mouth when I had some beans on a tortilla the potatoes were so hot I had to wait for them to cool down the coffee was very strong very very awful place I will never go there again and I would not recommend it
Have eaten there twice and both times gotten sick within an hour of eating there. Would not even give it another chance. There are too many good Mexican restaurants around to eat there.
The tortilla for the cheese enchilada was hard and I couldn't find the cheese. Plus the enchilada sauce was changed for the worse. Salsa had enchilada sauce in it. Pretty 👎 And they raised the prices. Sorry, Casa we have been going their for forty years. Sad
Bought take-out for my family. The chips, beans, salsa were very salty. Not edible. The Chile Verde was delicious. The taquitos were OK. Casa used to be our go-to. Going back to the 60's, 70s thru the 90s. Our last meal was disappointing.
We ordered two dishes, the beef taco salad and the combination plate with enchilada, Chile relleno and taco. The taco was pretty good but that was about all. The enchilada was average. The taco salad was terrible, avocado was partially black and it was small. The taco shell didn't taste fresh. The meat was bland and not hot. The salad definitely needs to be revamped or discontinued. I won't be coming back unless the food is completely upgraded.
I had ask for a carna asada burrito than 5 minutes come back and tell us they don't have carna asada than I ask for pork and didn't have that either. They only had chicken with green sauce and they brought back with red sauce. Than there salsa was not good.
Will never return. This place was recommend by a friend. Not a friend anymore. Food was not so good. Typical rice and beans no flavor. Water, which was the base for tea and soft drinks was terrible.
Call ahead to place an order because service is very slow Service is even slower dining in They take everyone in order We were waiting over 30 minutes for our to go order, and people that were seated during our wait were not served I got the #1 Enchilada was good Beef taco was okay Rice was okay Beans are like double fried they had a weird texture More than likely will not return

I had a bill of 5.22 and was going thru my wallet for cash in the drive thru trying to do too many things at once so when i opened my wallet i had 6 1 dollar bills in one hand and a 10 and 20 in the other The phone rang i gave the gal the 10 and 20 by mistake and she gave me 5 and change. I asked her if that was right she said yea so i just left It was my bad to trust a drive thru kid. I sucked it up but im not going there anymore and I let my friends know the situation
I waited 1 hour 30 minutes for food March 18 2021 would of been nice if they were honest my wait was long I even had customers tell me weren’t you here first it was a long wait everyone got served while we waited it was my first and last time food was so cold I really expected to get what I pay for it was greasy meat asada terrible experience for 71.00 I spent I pay good money for good food and definitely not good no effort to make my food worth the wait 😝
We were not greeted when we walked in, the chips were good but the salsa tasted like wet tomato sauce, we asked for a different salsa and didn’t get anything much better, there was country music being played…kinda random but ok The food came- chile verde WAS CHEWY like it was frozen, and the sauce was literally brown… like it’s chile verde meaning sauce should be green Chile rellano was the size of a jalapeño pepper like WHAT. And enchiladas were not good The rice and beans were not authentic at all Rice was small and almost hard to chew We had to send the plated back and just leave, not worth the time we ended up going to a taqueria down the street on Broadway and was sooo much better
Would have given it 1/2 star if I could. The place was packed-we couldn't figure that out...it was a weeknight and the food was horrible. The frijoles tasted like someone was playing a cruel joke on us and dumped tons & tons of salt into them. My husband loves salt on everything and even he did NOT like their food...and felt too too much salt! The portions of food are small, and like the frijoles the rest of our food was way too salty.
I ordered Togo and first off they said 20 min. It took 40 minutes. I ordered a large carnitas burrito and it was the size of literally 2 bites, it was only carnitasand cilantro... who orders a carnitas and cilantro burrito. When I got home I was starving and realized I had a 2 bite burrito that was supposed to be a large burrito.we called and they didn't even want to admit that they were in the wrong. Our fajitas were terrible. Asked for extravel cheese and got no extra cheese we had to argue with the manager about getting a refund. I've been to this place a lot and it was always good but bow. I won't go back.
This is mexican food Latinos /Mexicanos do not like if that tells you anything. Personally, It taste like frozen TV dinners if not worse. People who are not Mexican/Latino seem to like it, everyone’s got different taste. 1 star due to taste, Santa Maria has a lot more authentic Mexican food spots.
This was possibly the most disappointing dining experience I've had in a very long time. I'm from out of town, and picked this restaurant from its 4.3 star rating. I arrived early, around 5:15. The restaurant was not busy. I was brought a basket of stale chips and salsa. I ordered a highlighted item, chili Colorado, which is one of my favorites, from a menu splashed with dried-on food. Then I waited, and waited, and waited - 30 minutes. Chili Colorado is a slow-cooked dish with a rich red sauce that is prepared in advance. It typically takes 5-10 minutes max to reach the table. When my meal finally arrived, there were small scraps of beef, along with 5 chunks of fat swimming in a loose red liquid. I ordered flour tortillas that were left too long on the griddle and they were so dried out that they cracked when I tried to fold them. The refried beans were okay. There are many positive reviews here. Perhaps they are from friends or relatives. Perhaps I got the one bad meal. I'd had a long day, and was looking forward to visiting this restaurant for the first time because of the positive reviews and also because I love Mexican cuisine. Unfortunately, Casa Mañana missed the mark by a mile.
Extremely disappointed. I’m not a salty person by any means but after eating here I’ve had enough salt for the next month. Haven’t ever seen fajitas not served on a sizzling skillet. Also the “surf and turf” was more like a veggie plate with lemon butter. I’d say if you’re searching for authentic Mexican food go elsewhere. Everyone deserves a second chance but it will be awhile before this place gets one from me.
Terrible experience! They rip people off through door dash, and said that they’re not affiliated with door dash when in fact they are! Tried to explain to them that they had two different menus on door dash and they didn’t want to help me at all! - They charged me for 2 kids burritos $7 each that was supposed to come with rice and beans and they didn’t want to give me the rice and beans’ - Do NOT waste your time at this place. - Management was rude and not helpful over the phone! - I paid $96 for this experience!!
Ordered a combination plate for take out and they forgot half of the food that comes with the combination. I live a ways away so when they asked if I wanted to return for a refund I declined, they said they could write my name down and I would be able to get the same combination plate then next time I went in. The next time I went in they said they had no recollection of the incident and didn’t have my name saved anywhere. The manager was there and wouldn’t even address the situation himself, instead he had the server going back and forth communicating for him when we could see him from where we were sitting. Shitty service, my family and I will not be returning
Zero stars, found something disgusting floating around in my drink. Shown to management where they tried to figure out what it was for 5 min. They had no idea what it was they served me. Not sure when the last time health inspection was there. Look for the picture of a brown like substance on a napkin. In my opinion I would not recommend this place to anyone. This happened June 17, 2023 during lunch.
