The Natural Cafe

More people need to discover Natural Cafe, everything here is great, whether you're a vegetarian, vegan or otherwise, they've got something on the menu for everyone and it's all healthy and tastes fantastic! The gobbler burger is awesome and I highly recommend it, add some cheese and avocado if you really want to amp up the flavor! The chili is great, so are the nachos, chicken burrito, chicken enchiladas, tuna sandwich, quesadilla and tofu stir fry. My wife and I have had just about everything on the menu and we love it all!

My husband and I love coming to the Natural Cafe after church on Sunday when we want something different than what the other restaurants offer. The staff is friendly and willing to answer any questions we may have about the menu. The food never disappoints us and the atmosphere of the restaurant is great for a relaxing meal.

The food is so good! And the place is so clean and the staff are always so nice and friendly! They are also really good about allergies. I have a severe nut allergy and when I ask about deserts, they always check the recipe book when I ask. Highly recommended!

Great place for natural, minimally-processed meals. Counter-ordered food delivered relatively quickly to your table. A very popular take out place. Lots of tasty choices on menu, with delicious combinations. Conveniently located in mid-town for quick access from anywhere in the city.

Manager is amazing, he is super friendly and catered to us! The lady with the glasses was very helpful as well. The food put the cherry on top, I love that you guys offer vegan options too. Best of both worlds when going here. I will say the booths are a little uncomfortable but the hospitality makes up for it! Love coming here!

I really liked it, but I wish they had more vegan options/vegan, gluten free options. But other than that, it's been a favorite of mine since becoming veg living here and coming back to visit. My tacos were delicious. I just wanted more options 💗 I had the tacos both times and I really enjoyed them.

My experience at Natural Cafe was a good one. They had a wide range of healthy food options to choose from for under $15, and the servers were friendly and checked up on me and my friends. You pay upfront before the meal and all menu items have prices. The only thing I found slightly strange about the restaurant was the decor. The shop was very open (which was nice), but some of the decorations were a bit tacky and I feel like they should have just gone for a more modern look. PS: get the blueberry shake, it looks delish and tastes even better

I went just recently (mid April) and it was the very first time I had eaten inside a restaurant in Santa Barbara County since Covid hit. The store was very clean, the seating was available enough to sit at several feet from anyone else and the staff was clearly providing great service while wearing masks and gloves. It felt very weird to be sitting inside a restaurant but it's also strange that it feels weird to sit in a restaurant! Outdoor seating available, knowledgeable staff as I'm on a low carb diet and they were welcoming as well. My only issue is spending $25 for lunch but it was high quality food.

Great variety of delicious dishes for vegetarians. The variety can mean that some dishes can be hit or miss as far as quality though. Our consistent favorites are the black bean enchiladas, vegetarian chili, kiddie pasta, and the burgers. Kids meals are free Sunday afternoons and evenings!

I really love this place, the food is amazing, but everytime I come here I'm waiting 20+ minutes for a smoothie. Seems almost everytime I come here (at least once a week) I'm halfway through my meal before I even get my smoothie. Today was by the far the worst. I placed a to go order, knowing how long smoothies take to get out , my food was ready but no smoothies. Waited for about ten minutes after my food was ready. Watched the line pile up out the door, still no smoothies, asked for a refund she said sure we'll refund your card. Didnt pay with card, paid with cash, the amount of time it took to get a refund, my smoothies could've been made. Not to mention the cashier was by herself with a line out the door. This is a continuing occurrence and it needs to be addressed.

Sterile atmosphere The interior needs some TLC. The vibe is more fast food Nothing like the cozy eclectic vibe of the original on State Street in SB Food was fresh and pretty good though.

I'm leaving this review because I'm a regular here, like once a week sometimes, so obviously I like it - BUT today (12/6) they are serving the broccoli cream soup, which I have had, and today it is extremely bitter. Like curdled cream bitter. There is no where on their website where I can report this so I'm leaving it as a review, in the hopes that someone actually reads it. The soup should not be served this way, it's almost inedible.

Visted this past Sunday 3-20-22: Restaurant was clean, service was good though sign posted they were closing early due to being understaffed. Cashier did recommend Fish tacos (2) have cabbage/ shredded carrots & came chips and salsa. I felt the fish themselves were overcook (hard to chew). I eat small so I could only finish 1 taco with 1 tortilla & 1/2 the fish from the other (no tortilla). The cabbage/carrots could have been better chopped (not porptionate to the tacos). I felt this meal was on the pricey side though seafood typically is.

No one wants a dry wheat bread sandwich, I’m sure they’d prefer it toasted or grilled. How about offering a gluten free bread option (I mean the gluten free bread is stored in the freezer). The details matter. It is what customers remember. It's not that difficult to be more inclusive, especially in a town like Santa Maria where good cusine is at a huge deficit. Its 2025 and healthy restaurants should be able to offer gluten free options that are not salads or wraps, items that are naturally gluten free are a lack of effort and complacency at this point. I just don’t understand restaurant owners here. When you cook for customers you should be passionate about what you’re cooking for them and educate your staff on how to offer and make the best food. Go to Bella Forno’s, that owner studied how to make the best pizza and pasta and it shows in his food, customer service and presentation. So far that owner is the standard every restaurant owner should take notes and do better here. It’s Italian cuisine with gluten free pizza, pasta & desserts.

The first time I tried one of the bowls and it was terrible. The chicken was dry and it had a bunch of spinach and a little guac a few cherry tomatoes and pumpkin seeds. No flavor. So disappointing.

What are these? I ordered pasta so I’m thinking it’s garlic bread? Hard, flat and burnt. Definitely uneditable.

I wish I had taken some images before my partner returned my moldy turkey burger; how dare they send me a plate with mold on it. This was supposed to be a wonderful Valentine's lunch date.

The company is lying... even worse ... the company is also stating I told them I denied compensation, I did not. The owner told me to mention his name next time I come in - I have no plans in doing this. Flat out lying is horrible. I'd never suggest going here. Second time to Natural Cafe and most likely last. Went in for a half soup and sandwich, cream tomato soup had little pieces of plastic in it. I immediately called the restaurant that transferred me to management that asked to see the photos. They responded via email that it was basil stems. I'm 100% sure it is not basil stems but.... The manager was kind on the phone and prompt, but due to admitting he would investigate after the lunch rush I don't think he would admit he went through service giving out the plastic soup. Unfortunate! I just got a job next door and was looking forward to regular to go orders. 1 star as even the half sandwich I got was sparse of ingredients and the sprouts were removed off. The turkey provided didn't cover the entire bread so it was a dense bite most times.
