Opinions de Jade Rabbit Santa Monica
Me and my partner strolled to find this restaurant while we were washing our laundry. The best fast causal Chinese fusion I’ve ever had. The kale and the mango orange chicken were so good. We even talked to the chef and his culinary journey. Such a humble guy. Also if you are reading this, don’t allow people to compare your work to Panda Express. PE could never create the flavors you put together. They might steal. So throw them recipes in a lock and key. Hope to see your restaurant on the east coast. From Baltimore
So nice to have a new neighborhood spot with good Chinese food, friendly service, and prices that won’t kill your wallet. The space is cute & simple, and all the food is clearly labeled vegan, vegetarian, or gluten free. The chow mein noodles are delish (and thankfully vegan!) and we enjoyed everything else we ordered, including the cucumbers, pickled cabbage, spicy broccoli and salmon. (Nice touch with the optional wonton crisps and side of spicy Jade sauce.) Portions are on point, too — I even had leftovers. The only thing missing? Vegan dessert options. But the natural slushies and homemade teas make up for it. Try the passion fruit tea that tastes more like juice than tea. So good!
Wow, jade rabbit exceeded my expectations by a lot. The food is packed with unique flavors. I got delivery and I felt the portion was generous. I’ll definitely be back again and again!
The food was good. They gave vegan options the things that were good were the chow mein, the Chickpea and the passion fruit orange drink. I think they should have filled up the bowls more but I’m sure the employees are just doing what they are told.
Great Chinese bowls. Lots of vegan and gluten free options. We loved it. Got brown rice with chickpea curry and veggies. They had spicy broccoli and zucchini and mushrooms. They had a cabbage salad and cucumber too. I liked that you could do half rice and half noddles or salad. My mom thought her garlic shrimp was tasty. It was fast and delicious.
Fresh and affordable! The Beef & Broccoli tastes just like a lomo saltado. Vegetable side dishes were also really fresh. Lychee Slushie was refreshing.
My favorites that I’ve tried are the cold noodles and sweet potatoes but everything here is great! I like how the chow mein and fried rice has nice “wok air” but isn’t too oily/salty.
Great spot for a quick, delicious bite! If you’ve had Chipotle, Cava, etc, it is the Chinese-American version of that but a bit more upscale. Portions seem small, but the food is very filling. We had 1 bowl with brown rice, chow mein, chopped kale, mushroom & zucchini, with honey chicken and a second bowl with fried rice, chow mein, mushroom & zucchini, curry mashed potatoes, and honey chicken. We had a little leftover for both dishes. The kale and the mushroom/zucchini dishes were amazing. The chow mein was a little heavy on the sauce but otherwise pretty good. Mango dessert dish is skippable (didn’t hate it didn’t love it) Service was fast, staff were nice, overall great experience. We will def be coming here again.
I visited Jade Rabbit when they first opened and I can’t wait to go back. It’s one of those places where you immediately feel like you’re getting great value because of the price and portion of food. There are so many options to choose from that it’s almost impossible to settle on just one thing, which makes it perfect for coming back again and again to try something new. If you go, you have to order the scallion garlic cheese toast! And don’t skip dessert—the almond roca cookie is the perfect sweet finish. Jade Rabbit delivers on flavor, variety, and value. Highly recommend stopping by!
Was able to get this bowl for $14 out the door. You select 2 bases + 2 vegetables + 1 protein. Lots of food, have leftovers for later as well. The chow mein and spicy chicken was fantastic!
soo freakn delicious, great staff snd always spotless too. my go to whenever in the area for some solid chinese fusion with many veggie options. great tunes and layout as well! keep it up guys stoked to have ya. Terrel is the man.
Quality Chinese American food without the guilt. Combo it anyway you want. Eat it anyway you want. Jade sauce with scallion cheese toast? Done that and so good. Spicy lamb with brown rice and sweet corn sausage, then wash it down with HK milk tea? Why not. 50/50 up the Yuzu lemonade and peach slushies? Genius, but is that even legal? Yes it is 50 states legal. You will regret not coming here!
No Joke! This place is going to be huge :) Eat here while you can before it gets too popular to get in.... One of the best new fast casual restaurants I have eaten at in the last 10 years.... We, my wife and I, also met the owners on our way out, talked to them for what seemed like half hour... some of the coolest and nicest people you will ever meet. It all makes sense now.... the vibe, the look, the food, the feel, everything about this place mirrors the owners after spending some time with them. Big Big Fan!! Great job and can't wait to see this place expand!!! last note, food was soooo tasty! I will be eating here once a week, cravable for sure :)
Great food, service, vibe! Def going in my regular lunch / dinner rotation. Tasty bowl, full of flavor & nutrition. Plant-based option of noodles, mushroom & zucchini, with chickpea curry. Best bowl ever!
Really pleasantly surprised here. Cute, clean, and comfortable setup inside, and excellent service - but the highlight is easily the food, which is fairly priced considering portion and quality. The flavors are authentic with modern twists that remain quite loyal to the Chinese palate. I really enjoyed reading about their story and the origins of their creative decisions with recipes. Will definitely be back to try more of their selection :) Highlights: cold noodles, Szechuan chicken, honey charred chicken, pickled cabbage

Very cute spot with friendly staff! Love to see Cantonese flavors with delicious and healthy food! Excited to be back again :)

Wow, it's always great to discover an awesome, new restaurant thanks to a foodie friend's recommendation. We ordered delivery so I can't speak to the ambience but I can tell you the food was delicious & fresh & with very generous portions considering the very affordable price. I had the Orange Mango Chicken Bowl with cold noodles and cabbage and every single part of that was excellent and tasted like they were using really fresh ingredients. It all out-classed our usual delivery place, Chin-Chin, and at a fraction of the price. I love that there's a delicious new indy restaurant in Santa Monica. They're doing everything right - I hope they last so do give them a try!
Great food and great vibes! The food was amazing and hit the spot! I was also pleasantly surprised by the affordability given today’s pricing at a majority restaurants, especially one with a well known chef! Probably one of the best deals you can get for the quality of food… basically paying Panda prices for way higher quality food! The almond roca cookie is a must have and their slushies are awesome too!
As soon as you step foot into Jade Rabbit, you can feel how much thought went into this restaurant! Between the cute mural, neon sign, and layout of the space, it's clear that it was meticulously designed with so much love. If I had to summarize Jade Rabbit in five words: great value, great people, delicious. We were pleasantly surprised by how many side options were available and couldn't decide on just one, so we tried almost all of them! Our favorites were the Chinese pickled cabbage, Chinese broccoli, and cucumber salad. The fried rice was nice and moist, and had great flavor from the green onions! And do yourself a favor and order the scallion cheese toast. I would come back again just for that, it was insanely delicious and blew my away!! I echo the same sentiment for the cookie and Hong Kong milk tea, oh my god. I don't know the last time I had milk tea that good, not too sweet, great tea flavor, what more can you ask for? And the mango pudding?! I loved the tartness. Would definitely order again. I don't live anywhere near Santa Monica otherwise I'd be here once a week.

We had a wonderful experience at Jade Rabbit last week! The food and service were both incredible. Neither of us are big tea drinkers, but we are glad we didn’t skimp on the tea! The owner ceremoniously poured us a delicious oolong tea, that they pick up from a special shop in San Francisco, and taught us about traditional tea culture in Taiwan. For dinner, we enjoyed dumplings, gailang, salt & pepper squid, turnip cakes, sisig with garlic rice, and more! A lot of their dishes use top quality faux meats from Layonna’s, which can be hard to find PDX and many are GF! Lastly, we finished the meal with an excellent ube mochi brownie. When you dine at Jade Rabbit, not only are you in for an awesome meal, but an unforgettable dining experience, as well. Don’t sleep on Jade Rabbit, folks! You’ll be sad that you did!

We were in need of a fast and yummy lunch and this place delivered. We had one of each, it all sounded so good, and shared, well, tried. We were unsure what the green and red sauces went with, but once you try them it is clear that they go with everything (like your breakfast eggs at home the next day) I also went back for a cookie, which I didn't share. The chickpea curry seemed random, but was totally delicious, our daughter loooved the orange mango chicken, my husband inhaled the spicy minced lamb and I really liked the flavors of all the veggies. Really, really good at a decent price. New staple restaurant!
The food is great (the cookies took me by surprise - they are sooo good!) but parking is difficult which makes me think twice before stopping by 😭 I would eat here more often if parking was easier. Delicious nonetheless & it’s great to have a spot like this in SM.

Good flavors but the food is served lukewarm. Needs to be served much hotter. Chow mein and fried rice bases were low key the highlights of the bowl. Not a big fan of the lychee slushie (too sweet). Food also sat quite heavy in my stomach for hours and gave me slight stomach pains. Super friendly employees Portion sizes for the money are good; it's basically two meals.
