Opinions de The Albright Santa Monica
The Albright The Albright is such a cute seafood spot right on the Santa Monica Pier. It looks like a charming little beach house, which makes the whole dining experience feel relaxed and coastal. The menu has a great variety of seafood options, and everything feels fresh and well thought out. It’s a perfect place to sit back, enjoy the ocean atmosphere, and have a nice meal by the water. Definitely a lovely stop if you’re visiting the pier!
Perfect spot for me and my toddler to enjoy lunch! It was casual enough to enjoy and yet a picture perfect location enjoying the breeze and the ocean views. The catch of the day was fresh and the vegetables and salad were amazing sides- felt very refreshed after lunch! Came back again the next day!
Nice place right by the pier. Love the color scheme. The portions are quite big and the flavor is delightful. A great experience! Definitely would recommend.
Nice location right on the Pier. Relaxed atmosphere was nice. Easy ordering at the counter and short wait for food. Ordered the fish and chips. The fish was so buttery and fresh tasting! A large amount of fries and additional coleslaw was a great addition.
Such a great spot when you are on the pier for yummy food! I loved the fish and chips and guacamole. Will be coming again
Loved my experience here, food was delicious. We ordered clam chowder, lobster roll and fish and chip! Parents approved too!
The seafood was very fresh and everything was a 10/10! We chose this place to eat on a whim because we were starving and needed something asap. We kept saying how glad we were that we chose Albright because it was just so good!
Ms Kim's Seafood Bowl (I am probably getting the full name wrong) is the best! Highly suggest ordering an additional side or rice. It is so tasty. It's not very spicy if you don't eat the jalapeños. But if you want that kick, then dive freely into them! Also got the grilled Mahi tacos. Small and tasty. And yes, I used my rice for the soup (hence why I suggest ordering an additional side). We honestly needed more rive. It is that good. 🍲 😊 Clam chowder is also delicious!
Worth the $89 I spent. We live in KS so seafood is sketchy. We got the lobster roll and the crab. Delicious! The staff were very sweet and helped us crack the crab claws. I almost got the clam chowder which someone ended up getting, and it was huge (they were at another table tho so no pic)! If I come back, would definitely take another visit to this restaurant.
The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! 🤤🤤🤤 My party ordered the oysters, calamari, and the rock crab seafood boil. The oysters were cleaned very well (i.e. they were not overly sandy/gritty), and they were VERY fresh! The calamari was lightly breaded and fried to perfection. The seafood boil...OMG, CHEF'S KISS!! 🤩🤩Seasoned.To.Perfection. My mouth is watering just writing this review! 😋😋 Last, but not least, the playlist was top-tier.
Wonderful food, great atmosphere and stellar service all for a more than reasonable price. I ordered the Calamari, Shrimp and Chips and a strawberry lemonade. The Calamari was perfectly crispy and well seasoned, with great flavor. The same can be said of the Shrimp and Chips, with great flavor and well seasoned. The portions for both were an excellent value, well worth the price. The Strawberry Lemonade was very good as well. With all of that said, the service was truly exceptional. Steve greeted me with a smile when I walked in the door and answered any questions that I and other customers had, as well as ensuring customers got the most value from their experience. Steve was eager to help and go the extra mile, clearly taking pride in the work he does. Overall I had an excellent experience dining at The Albright, and will be back without a doubt the next time I'm in Santa Monica.
We had lunch at The Albright, and the food definitely matched the beautiful ocean view. The lobster was fresh and perfectly grilled, served with butter and a touch of lemon — simple but full of flavor. The clam chowder in the bread bowl was creamy and rich, though a bit too thick for my taste after it cooled down. The atmosphere was lively and casual, perfect for a sunny afternoon by the pier. Service was friendly but a bit slow since it was busy, so expect to relax and enjoy the sea breeze while waiting. Overall, it’s a great spot for seafood lovers — not fancy dining, but hearty coastal comfort food with a view that’s hard to beat. ⭐️ Rating: 4/5 Would come back again for the lobster and beach vibes!
Glad we chose to have lunch here! Perfectly located right on the pier, The Albright was bustling, but the service was impressively fast and efficient. We ordered a couple of fish and chips, calamari, and a tuna melt. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked, with crisp, golden fries to match. The calamari was the highlight—tender and flavorful—with a delicious dipping sauce. I really enjoyed the whole experience and would definitely come back
I had the clam chowder and fish tacos. Both were surprisingly delicious. I wasn't expecting a restaurant at the Santa Monica pier to be this good but it was. I would definitely recommend the clam …
Great food, amazing service and I love having a great drink/ food spot on the pier. Dan took care of us, he's the man!
great service, good attitude, not a lot of wait, good food.\nthe outside patio has an ocean view
Food was great! We ordered the combo, fish and chips, tacos, and fried calamari and everything was delicious. price was decent for being on the Santa Monica pier. Would definitely go there again!

Love the outdoor seating with great ocean view mixed with nice sunshine. The staff is smiling. It doesn't take long to get the food onto table. The fish and chip is delicious. Feel so relaxing.
Incredible food—lobster roll is to die for.... Great vegetarian options too. The clam chowder is the largest I'd ever seen and is a meal on its own. Great location, great views, and great beer too!

Food was amazing! Fresh lobster rolls and clam chowder. Staff friendly. Great view of the Pier. Can’t ask for more than that!
Nice surprise on the Santa Monica Pier! Order at the counter and sit inside or outside. We had the shrimp and it was delicious. prices were very reasonable for a tourist area. Staff was friendly.
Lobster roll and shrimp Po Boy were excellent. Fries were hot, fresh and just crispy enough. Chowder had plenty of clam but could have been a little more seasoned. The only thing that could have been much better was the corn on the cob which did not seem fully cooked. Otherwise we were pleased with the food and very glad to sit outside next to the beach and the ocean.
At the Albright restaurant on the Santa Monica Pier I had the world famous clam chowder. I had the Sourdough Bread Bowl with bacon. It was good no complaints, very filling, alot of bread but the bread makes up for the cost of the clam chowder. For Los Angeles the clam chowder is a good buy and you get to eat on the Pier. Eat outside it's a better view.
Great sit down lunch spot at the famous Santa Monica pier; friendly & quick service; casual vibe; moderate noise level; indoor & outdoor seating; ocean views; quality ingredients; was expecting tourist trap low quality food & inflated prices but surprisingly reasonable prices, good quality offerings, good beer; good luck with parking, paid parallel street parking, lots, garages, beach lot, all require some walking to the pier; second time here & will come again; recommended.
Located right in the Santa Monica pier it’s a quick and easy spot to eat. You have to get a table for yourself which can be a bit tough so understand that going in. You order at a window and pickup at another window. I had my heart set on a lobster roll and they said they were out. The food and atmosphere overall were pretty decent. For a tourist location we were slightly impressed. It’s very noisy inside so if the weather is decent sit outside. The bathrooms were semi clean. Overall we had a decent experience
The food was good! A little pricey for the portions . We got a shrimp po no sandwich, the kids rice bowl, tilapia and a burger and 1 side salad no drinks . Total 85 buckaroos. For the price not worth it. The food was fresh and the atmosphere was chill. I’d say buba gump across the the way you can probably make ur dollar stretch a bit further.
Good food. I like the Mai Mai Tacos. Beware they automatically charge 6% to your order without consent.

The service was great. The guy at the counter offered beer samples of local draft options. We shared an order of the ceviche appetizer and the mahi mahi tacos. The ceviche was okay. For $15 it was not worth it in our opinion. The portion was good, but not for the price. I understand you’re paying for it being on the pier, though. It was bland and definitely could have used some more flavor. The chips that were served with it were not seasoned (even just salt would have made them better) and extremely greasy. The tacos were good. The chipotle mayo saved them, in my opinion. The beans and rice served with the tacos were also bland with no seasonings or flavor. The atmosphere was obviously touristy, but expected. The local beers were good. I don’t think I’d come back to be completely honest, there’s better food somewhere close… it’s just finding the right spot.
I got the spicy seafood soup after reading several good reviews on it. If you are expecting Korean seafood soup, this is not for you. The first bite tasted like jalapeño water. No authentic Korean soup is going to have cilantro and tomatoes in it. It was packed with seafood, which tasted really, really fresh, but the soup was not what I was expecting at all. There was no depth or savory flavor in the soup. The rice tasted like it was made out of instant rice box... Very disappointing, but I should've known to not expect authentic Korean taste at a non-Korean restaurant. My friends ordered fish and chips, which they said was good. Another friend ordered the lobster roll, and it was pretty underwhelming. I think you are paying for the experience though of eating right on the pier. It had a nice seating area and a great view. It was nice to go as a tourist, but I probably wouldn't go back for the food.

Food was good enough though not excellent. Surely don't take the lobster: it's expensive while not being that great. Well located on the pier as it is just before the most crowded places.

Ok bottom line is we are from Boston and we wanted clam chowder. The chowder is all right, not very bad not amazing… Definitely not worth the $18 For the bread bowl. To be honest, I really like the atmosphere and the location of the restaurant. There’s not much service to speak of you kind of place your order at the counter and then walk up to get your food and sit wherever you like… But it’s nice. The reason I’m writing this review is for this ceviche. It is truly awful do not order. Very dry and tasteless, and the chips are weird, they do serve Jack and Coke in a can, which was a nice fine can’t complain there. I will say I probably won’t come back here unless I’m out with friends
The atmosphere is great. The bathrooms extremely clean but the food is aight and overpriced. I paid $60+ for a hotdog, clam chowder and beer. The girl who took my order was rude and when I asked what was in the sangria, she told me "red or white" okayyyyy . Won't be coming back and don't recommend. It's a tourist trap if ur into that.
We normally come here at least 1x a month in the last 6 months because its always been good. This last visit was disappointing, especially bringing my son who I wanted to try them out as he is a "foodie jr." They did not have Dungeoness crab unfortunately, which is what he wanted. If they don't have it I think they should put a sticky note on their outside / walk in menu sign for a heads up. Instead we got some appetizers, a kids meal and clam chowder bread bowl for my son. After a few bites and mixing the bowl, he said - "Mom- BUG BUG BUG!!!" -Yes, there was a roach nymph that floated atop his clam chowder after mixing it! He panicked and scooped it out immediately! My husband and I flagged a staff member to notify them and they went to management, who then asked if we wanted a refund or new food. Of course we wanted a refund. He stated he told the kitchen staff about it and refunded our entire order, which was a very nice thing to do, I have to admit and we super appreciated it. However, at this time, we will not be coming back for a long while. Hopefully their kitchen staff will be more aware of any pests and report it before it ends up in the food.
