Opinions de Tomatina Santa Rosa
I always grew up eating Italian and since moving to Sonoma county, I haven't found a spot that I love as much as Tomatina's! I love the variety they offer and they pick two specials if you want to keep things light! Also, these folks KNOW how to do tiramisu correctly!!!
Lucca Brazzi my Sicilian pal from the old country was telling me about how his Nonna stuffed peppers with sausage, cheese and fresh herbs, and how he looked forward to it every year when the peppers ripened to a deep red. Then he told me about an unassuming Italian restaurant on the way out of town, and how great and authentic the food is...Tomatina is name of the place, so yesterday I was in Santa Rosa and decided to check out Tomatina, and I'm sure happy I did, because the food was deliciously amazing! And...I'm thinking it was just like Lucca's Nonna made it! ☆☆☆☆☆
This place is amazing. The best service, our waiter was extremely nice and thoughtful. Food was delicious, we got bruschetta for appetizers and I’m definitely gonna try to recreate it at home - so delicious! Pasta was great, also good portion, not too big and not too small. They also have a Mon-Fri 3-6pm happy hour, so we got two great classic drinks for only $6 each. I saw that they have a proper pizza oven, so maybe next time we’re in Santa Rosa I’ll get that!
Service & food were wonderful!! Our server Irwin was on point, friendly and extremely efficient! I highly recommend the house sangria and the spaghetti. So good!
Everything about this place is amazing. Food is excellent. Service is on point. Cocktails are 😋. I will definitely recommend to everyone I speak too. I look forward to dining again.
The food was delicious and our server Pedro was wonderful! Yummm!
The food was delicious, came to our table in minutes after ordering and there were many Gluten Free options. The flour free desert with raspberries was the perfect ending to an awesome meal.

Pleasantly surprised by the kid-friendly menu and the excellent customer service. Their take on the Caesar salad was a standout—perfectly balanced, not overly anchovy-forward, with a subtle hint of garlic. Highly recommend giving it a try! The garlic bread knots were warm and perfectly soft and the lemon chicken was by far my favorite
We ordered the calamari 3 stars the chicken Masada 3 stars wish there was more sauce and mushrooms I liked the option for zucchini noodles drinks weren't very strong mostly sugar and juice didn't drink half of mine the apple crisp was fabulous and the bread rolls and marinara sauce was to die for. We had Shelby as our server and she was so nice we really enjoyed her she saved the trip. We saw alot of people getting the pizza thinking we should have ordered that over all it was good but not sure how soon I will come back
Sat down for lunch shortly after they opened on a Sunday. Nice establishment. Very clean, bathrooms as well. My drinks were brought to me promptly. My drinks were an Italian Smash and a Diet Coke! Italian Smash was a vodka based fruity cocktail that was heavenly!! For lunch I had the Carne Combo pizza and I loved it. Basic but very tasty sauce and not too much of it with various meat toppings. Bottom line looking forward to going back and trying other menu items! I definitely recommend!!
The food was good, and the servers were doing great. The only problem was that there were only two servers, and it was a Saturday, so it was pretty busy. We did not receive one of our dishes that we ordered.
Went to dinner with my son. We started with the Calamari and I had the special Frutti di Mare, he had the Chicken Marsala. Both dishes were excellent. Lots of seafood in the pasta, I was impressed. Good service, good atmosphere. We really enjoyed dinner. Will be back for sure
Very tasty Italian food. The presentation of the dishes could be a little better & the fettuccine wasn’t as cooked as I would have liked it to be but other than that, we enjoyed our time here.

I love coming here when I'm craving delicious food but don't want to overpay. the service is never great and if you order online after 9pm they void the order. so dont come here if youre someone who needs excellent service, but if you want a clean space with a good atmosphere and great food its definetely the right place!

It was my grandsons 10th Birthday and he wanted pasta. We had a table for 8, ordered a couple appetizers, then ordered dinner. It was hit and miss, some plates were pretty good.....others not so much. I'm not sure if I'll be back or not.

Lunch menu is very reasonable. Good food including gluten-free options, although the GF pasta should have been cooked 2 minutes longer. The dining room was pretty chilly, I was missing my sweater. Also we had to go up to the bar to ask our waiter for salt and pepper and a second glass of wine. Service in general was slow and not very attentive. And the waiter was not very friendly.

A Quiet Oven, Little Spark Tomatina bills itself as a lively Italian kitchen, anchored by an open-fire oven and a menu built around pastas, salads, piadine, and soups. On a recent visit with a group of six, the room told a different story. By 7:30 p.m., the dining room was nearly empty, and yet the service felt oddly unmoored—pleasant enough, but uncoordinated, with long pauses and a notable miss on a promised gluten-free dish that arrived so late it barely mattered. The food followed suit. Two salads were competently dressed but forgettable. A salmon pasta and a chicken pasta leaned heavily on familiarity without delivering depth, while the spaghetti with meatballs lacked the slow-simmered conviction such a classic demands. The vegetable piadina hinted at the rustic charm Tomatina aims for, but never quite landed. Even the soup, which should have offered comfort, passed quietly. Nothing was offensive; little was memorable. Tomatina’s menu promises the warmth of Italian simplicity, but on this evening, the fire burned low, and the experience never quite rose to meet its ambition.

Tried multiple items from the menu and was very disappointed in the food quality and flavor. Everything tasted the same and the service was disappointing. Had to flag down the waiter from his perch to bring refills
I really wanted to like this place since I live just two minutes away and hoped it would become my go-to spot. Unfortunately, my first visit was a disappointment. The garlic bread was hard, the mixta salad came with blue cheese (which wasn’t listed on the menu), and my spaghetti and meatballs only had four small meatballs. Everything lacked flavor, and nothing stood out. Even the pasta that came with the salmon was bland. This Italian restaurant doesn’t even have chocolate for dessert… The drinks were the only thing that were actually really good.
Won't be back. My 3 tasting dish was cold, my guests chicken overcooked and dry. Good rolls and coffee. That's about it.

If I could give negative 5 stars I would.. the food was terrible. Very watered down sauce and the noodles were not cooked properly. The service was terrible as well. They were trying to tell me I was wrong. They make Olive Garden look better!
