This is a new, cozy little restaurant with a wonderful chef on Blanco Rd with authentic food from the interior of Mexico. The enchiladas verde were the best I’ve ever had. My friend had one of the mole recipes which was so very delicious. The cheesecake and the flan desserts were totally yummy with a great presentation! Give this new gastronomic venture a try. You will not be disappointed!

This place is just absolutely AMAZING in every way!! We were celebrating my Daughter's 33rd Birthday. We had a reservation at The Bread Box and sadly, it was a really horrible experience and their rude staff almost ruined our day. La Fonda MX came to the rescue! We found them online and called to see if they could accommodate a family of 14! They immediately said yes and had the tables put together/ready for us when we arrived. We basically almost took over the whole place. The food was outstanding. It was all cooked fresh/made to order. The different salsas on the Huevos Divorciados was the best I have ever had. I know this will sound crazy because it's just toast but the avocado toast was also the best I've ever had. That will be one of my favorites. It had amazing freshness and so much flavor. Our whole family is still talking about the coffee! The Cafe De Olla is absolutely to die for. I have to find out how to make this coffee! This is definitely our new favorite place! The Owner checked on us several times. The servers were attentive, friendly and efficient. They even surprised my daughter with a delicious piece of chocolate cake and candle for her birthday. La Fonda MX - you really saved the day! We had a wonderful time, delicious food and a great experience. We will be regular customers! We were such a big group that I neglected to take photos of the many delicious plates. I will update with photos on our next visit - which will be soon!

I love finding the small business restaurants to patronize; LA Fonda MX didn’t disappoint!

Okay, so here’s a little gem in San Antonio that’s a real hidden gem! They serve authentic Mexican food made by a poblano chef. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service makes you feel right at home. They have a fairly large menu, but I just had to try the Chalupas, being a Polano myself. I never thought I’d find real Chalupas in San Antonio, and to my surprise, they taste just like in Puebla. If you’re looking for real Mexican food, you absolutely have to check this place out. I also tried the empanadas de queso (I just call them “quesadillas fritas”), and they took me back to Tres Marias. I’m definitely coming back with my family, and I think I’ve found a place that could become a favorite really quickly.

I forgot to take pictures of the plates as we were quite hungry, but I got a picture of the dessert and coffee. The dessert was a cajeta cheesecake which was delightful. A combination between homemade and gourmet. If you are in the mood for authentic mexican food, definitely check them out!

From having the door held open to come in, sitting down right away, and having a different variety of Mexican cuisine dishes to choose from, the food was quick and uniquely tasteful. The service from the young man George was quite respectful and attentive. We recommend giving LaFonda.mx a try.

There was an older man at the entrance aggressively lecturing us about the parking spots. I completely understand those spaces belong to them, but the attitude was unbelievably rude and unnecessary. We were actually considering coming to eat here one day, but after that interaction? Absolutely not. Customer service starts long before you even walk through the door, and that energy was just awful.

They give you a really small amount of food, and it is really expensive. They charged me $50 dollars for a small piece of steak and the chilaquiles was not even chilaquiles, it was literally chips and salsa and not even 1/2 of meat. They also charged me $12 bucks for a lemonade and another fruit drink. I do not recommend it.

Ran out of food after 1 hour?? The chef was telling people at the door "sorry we ran out of food, thank you stopping by but do try to stop again at another time." No thanks ill pass. Who runs out of eggs an hour after opening? Smh
