Mary's Donuts

Okay, so I been coming to Mary's back in the day after highschool events back when it was on mission gorge. Now that it's moved it's better than ever. I feel like San Diego is a donut dessert sprinkled with a few super gourmet insanely priced donuts or yum-yum. Mary's is better than both and it's probably the least expensive some how. Show up to a party with a dozen cream puffs or donuts from this place and it's not gonna break the bank.

Great little donut shop. Friendly staff, clean, excellent selection of donuts and other pastries. They could however stand to add a bit more lemon filling to there lemon Donuts.

Got some apple fritter, raspberry donut hole, glazed donuts and boston creme pie. ALL yummy! Not sure how many pounds is that fritter but its heavy and has a lot of apples.

We love MARY’S!! We’ve been going since they were in their stand alone building by the gas station. They have the best donuts! When you go you have to get a blueberry donut! We will always go to Mary’s!

Stopped by this donut shop around 10pm and was seriously impressed. The donuts were still soft, fresh, and absolutely delicious—even that late at night. Great variety and still well-stocked, which isn’t always the case at other places. Definitely worth the visit!

The staff here is fantastic, only outdone by their amazingly delicious donuts that will probably be the death of me. But that's okay. If I die because of Mary's Donuts that's an honorable death and I will be welcomed into Valhalla. All jokes aside, GO EAT THESE DONUTS. Mary’s Donuts in Santee is easily some of the best donuts in San Diego. The prices are great, and they offer a huge variety so there’s always plenty to choose from. Everything tastes fresh, but the cinnamon crumb, blueberry cake and the classic plain glaze are my favourites but everything is worth a try. A must-stop if you’re a donut fan.

There are many options to choose from, all look good. I went with the rasbperry filled donut, and also the chocolate frosted donut. They were both perfect! These are the types of donuts are really enjoy. They are fluffy, not too sweet, but hit the spot after a good meal. The staff was amazing as well. There was a line, but it went relatively quick. There is also plenty of seating as well. If you are in Santee, you can't do any better than Mary's donuts. Delicious! Eat up!!!

Are you in Lakeside, right near the rodeo grounds? You have to stop in at Mary's Donuts which is right on the next block. We always make it a point to stop in at Mary's Donuts! I'm simple - I truly enjoy the good ' ol plain glazed Donuts, as my Hubby opts for the "Chocolate Glazed" ones. Of course, we didn't just get a couple of items, we always try something we've never had before! Mary's Donuts by far is the best choice for one's Donut cravings. We've tried the "big name" Donut stores.. they're either too sweet or too small. Some deli sandwiches have been added to their menu at Mary's as well n as a fresh cup of coffee. Hands down the best donuts I’ve ever had. The glazed donuts are so light and fluffy and the chocolate glaze is divine. These will be the standard by which I judge all future donuts. The atmosphere is just a nice donut shop where you can sit and chat with friends or other new people you meet and bond over your love of donuts. We met Mary and she was lovely and took our picture for the wall. A great excursion for our trip to San Diego.

Was craving donuts and contemplated to go to dunkin but they had a lot of negative and/or low reviews and saw that this place had a lot of good reviews and was nearby. There was a small line but it didn't take that long. We bought a half dozen and I got a chocolate chocolate sprinkles donut and it was amazinggggg. Definitely craving satisfied plus their donuts aren't too sweet that it hurts your mouth which is PERFECT. Would definitely come back and try their hot chocolate and coffee next time! 15/10 recommend 👌

They make a giant cake sized donut by special order for $10! It’s as large as my head. Their apple fritters are very large as well but this is a special thing! Open all the time and super fresh they have all the standard favorite donut flavors, but a few standouts sell out regularly like their fritters, cinnamon crumb, normal sized glazed twists, a jumbo glazed chocolate vanilla twist we call the twist of fate. They even have jalapeño croissants but pretty much only in the morning as those are also a hit! You can’t go wrong with trying any of the donut holes though a favorite is the custard, and the full sized chocolate glazed custard stuffed as well while your at it! Their buttermilk bar here is also particularly crumbly, dense and nicely thick.

Can you relate to the reader the salivation trigger one has while watching a tray of bacon maple bars being prepped for the display case and the disappointment felt as I had already filled my dozen quota?!?! Well, I don't think I need to go on about the fact that you can taste the pure and wholesome ingredients and the craftsmanship of their product. It's redundant to tell you that this is possibly the best donut in San Diego, nay, California... dare I day the USA??? No, I won't be that guy. You can make those observations and decide for yourself. (Believe the hype!)

It was a nostalgic experience. Fresh donuts being made and a wide variety of donuts behind the glass. I was second in line but the line moved extremely fast. I couldn't wait to arrive at work to start my shift and eat my donut for breakfast, we'll at least one cause I had to buy 2 while I was there. I even grabbed a half dozen of donut holes (half Halloween themed) for my 3 year old grandson. My bacon topped donut was delectable, just as it was the last time I visited. Good and fresh. Second favorite donut place. Nice, dense donuts to make your heart happy. Best classic buttercream filled chocolate glazed donuts.

Mary’s has GREAT donuts and a wide variety of donuts as well. The worker there seemed like he didn’t like his job but that’s all right. Donuts were GREAT!!

I got a chocolate covered bavarian cream donut. It was fresh - crispy outside, soft, and chewy inside! The place is open 24 hours a day so you are guaranteed to get a delicious donut!

Mary's is always a rocking place. My only go to for donuts. They are usually pretty well stocked but didn't have the buttermilk ones i wanted. Service is polite and friendly. They have an area where you can sit if u want bu it's really a take out. The store is clean and well maintained. If you are up for a giant bear claw then this is the place.

I order a birthday donut at the Santee shop for my daughter who is turning 4 years old. I picked up the donut and for got to check if they had written Happy Birthday Niah like I told them to do. When I got home, I checked the donut and they for got to write happy birthday Niah on the donut. I am very disappointed and sad. I called them immediately and told them they had for gotten to put happy birthday Niah on the donut. They stated they didn't have anything down on writing happy birthday on the donut. I told them it's a birthday donut and was suppose to say happy birthday Niah, then she remember and apologize. She told me to bring it back so she can write on it but I live in Alpine, so I wasn't going to drive back. They offered me a Gift Card.

I absolutely love lemon filled donuts so We purchased four filled donuts, two custard and two lemon. I was extremely disappointed in the amount of filling. One little blob...I actually measured it and it was 1 slightly rounded teaspoon! My other filled donuts were the same. Basically one bite with filling. Will probably not purchase again. Maybe this was an off day but filled donuts should have much more filling than 1teaspoon! So disappointed!

when i came with my boyfriend we got 2 apple fritters and one original chocolate glazed. i have recently started loving apple fritters and while i’m visiting in san diego ive made it my mission to find the best apple fritter around and here are my thoughts on theirs. when we got back in the car (since him and i were just going to carry out our donuts and eat them on the way home.) i immediately noticed one was much darker than the other one, so me being me, i offered up the better looking fritter to my bf. when i began nibbling on my fritter i immediately just tasted over done dry pastry, though thought by the time i got to the middle it would be better but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. by the time i got to the middle i could still taste what i would describe kinda a smokey burnt like taste since it was over done on top of the fact that the glaze on this one was lacking. by the time we got home my bf noticed that i hadn’t eaten much of my fritter and offered his since the chocolate glaze he also got for himself, that’s normally his go to but since my apple fritter craze he’s hopped on board. his apple fritter was much better, cooked perfectly and a good amount of glaze. he really enjoyed his chocolate glaze, tried to eat some of my burnt fritter but it wasn’t enjoyable, sorry but thank you bf for willing to offer up your apple fritter to me. though my rating was a 7.5 on the burnt one i would consider moving it down to a 6.5-7, that fritter is the main reason why we’ve been a pushed away to come back to mary’s just afraid of being disappointed with a burnt fritter again.

Service was horrible! Cashier was rude to say the least! Dark hair male teenager with sweatshirt on and hoodie on his head. Bad attitude , literally said 2 words! Acted like I was an inconvenience coming in! Donuts were average at best! They used to be so delicious! This place used to be my favorite donut shop! Sad! 😢 Time to find a new donut shop!

Once again I asked for a croissant ham and cheese sandwich, I got one full of jalapeños. This one had no jalapeños on the outside but it was full of jalapeños. I have made this complaint several times. Why do you not separate them into different cases?? The system you have does not work. I pay for a sandwich that I can not eat, due to the amount of jalapeños that are in it. PLEASE figure out a better system. Sincerely a loyal but disappointed customer

Don't think I've ever had a donut here that made me think "wow, that was good!" They're all so strange.. clearly quality ingredients and flavor. Sometimes I've gotten undercooked (literally squish the raw dough in your hands) donuts or overcooked dry/old tasting donuts. Always envious when my coworkers bring in delicious donuts from shops in San Diego. I've learned that people in Santee have pretty low standards to what they consider "good" - so take all glowing reviews with a grain of salt. Hope one day an actual good quality donut shop opens in Santee
