Takka Sushi Bar & Grill

With dining experiences being limited as they are in East County, I was very pleased to find Takka Sushi. Dine-in or dine out, the service is great. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. The food is amazing. We've tried all types of sushi rolls here and have been very pleased. I have recently simplified my Sushi dining. I typically order tekka Maki and hamachi Maki. I enjoy the seaweed rice and fish without all the extra stuff you get on fancier rolls. I find the portions of fish in these roles to be plentiful, always fresh and delicious. The dine-in experience is about average for a sushi joint. Weekends can be very busy so plan ahead.

Takka was great. The chicken fried rice is something you should get, the sushi is terrific ( only like California rolls, and tempora shrimp sushi) it's like benihana but I think it's just as good as a chain. Go there. 👍

Wonderful sushi! We went to try this place for the first time and were surprised by the food and service. The employees were very nice and the gave excellent service. Ordering was easy as it was presented on the menu and confirmed by a scratch pad which the patron fills out. The food was tasty and delicious. The price was much cheaper then we thought. I'm returning....

Nice staff. Sushi tasted fresh, delicious. Huge rolls. Well worth the price. Only thing is that they took a long time to bring out our first rolls. Great place for yummy food.

This place is amazing!! We have been coming here for months and now with the stay at home order we have to get our food Togo but it is still amazing. My youngest gets the ramen and loves it. My older son and I usually split the tempura saki roll and the California roll!

This is my favorite sushi place due to the great value. The sushi is very good, and there’s a lot of great options. I don’t think it’s the absolute best place, but better places are going to cost you so much more, and it’s generally not worth it. Takka sushi is very affordable and reasonable while still be very good. The fried rice is fantastic. Honestly, this is probably my favorite restaurant all around. It has a nice atmosphere. Kind of cozy actually. And despite being small, there’s a lot of tables without feeling cramped. I know I mentioned the value already, but seriously I only spend a bit more when I go here versus Chipotle. It’s my go to restaurant.

Always great sushi and never too busy. The best hole in the wall sushi place I’ve ever eaten at, and definitely the best sushi joint in east county. It’s also so reasonably priced (feel like it’s honestly pretty cheap) which is astounding because the quality is top tier.

Hand rolls are very good. Particularly liked the blue crab and the scallop. Nitro matcha and sencha is not to be missed.

Our choice for sushi in Santee. Good quality, good selection and a cash discount. Large beers are accompanied by a hot or cold sake. It can get busy, so come early or be prepared to wait just a bit.

I keep coming back! Good sushi at a reasonable price. Fast service in a convienent, central location in Santee. Very casual dining with food that is very well presented. Great selection on the menu. I love the house salad and always get a couple of rolls to share. Garlic edamame is one of my faves. Definitely give Takka a try.

Went here with friends who highly recommend me try Sushi and Takka was the place to go on their list. It was great! Especially the Hawaiian special roll. 😋 California Beach roll, Salmon skin roll. So good. The service was great. Quiet amposhere. Friendly. I had a great time celebrating my birthday as well. Will definitely be coming back. Maybe date night 😉!

For appetizers, we ordered the fried calamari ($10.95) which came out nearly stacked with a side of their spicy dipping sauce. Loved it. Wish they added more sauce though. We also ordered vegetable tempura ($8.50). My wife ordered one of their udon ramen bowls. She enjoyed it very much. I can't remember which one she ordered. She also ordered their Rainbow Roll ($17). I ordered their Spider Roll (soft shelled crab roll) ($17), the Hot Lips Roll (scallops and crab, spicy) ($17), and the Sashimi Mix (9 pieces) ($16.95). I loved everything! You get 50% off of all classic rolls and 30% off of special rolls (dine in and to go orders). I will definitely be back, and will also be ordering food for lunch. I work from home and they are just down the street. Thanks Takka Sushi!

Great place when they aren't busy. When it's the rush, I've have not been served dishes I've ordered. When I've asked about it, they have given me the bill with the item taken off with no conversation at all. This has happened a few times. Just weird.

Sushi. Edamame. 50% off items. It’s good enough for me!

We came on Tuesday around 5pm. The food was good and average prices. We had combination plates. The wait staff were friendly and checked on us often. The atmosphere was just ok. Nothing special but not bad either. We didn't care to hear the sushi chef on his phone the whole time we were there(~50 min). His loud talking was VERY ANNOYING, especially when he was using the speaker phone for almost 1/2 hour.

The quality of the food was satisfactory, and it appeared to be recently prepared. The pricing was reasonable, however, the customer service was lacking. I only had one interaction with the server, and that was when I requested an explanation of the menu, as it was our first time dining at the establishment.

Food was great, had 5 people In our party and would separate 3 tickets, would not let us pat separate. Then 2 of us tried to pay cash for a 10% discount and would was told all of us had to pay cash. Total BS on the cash policy. Will not eat there again the customer service was very sub par. Yet the sushi was good.

Ordered fried gyoza and a couple rolls...fried gyoza came to table cold, how can that happen? Sushi rolls were not cut all the way through, thus when tried to pick up a piece they fell apart....server seems distant and disinterested in being there. I was recommended by a passenger. Too.many better ones too close to try again.

Heard this place had good sushi. First the service was horrible ( forgot to bring us our salads and green ice cream), took a long time to get food that did come. Owners need to reevaluate their serving plan ( can be much more organized). The sushi was average at best , I’ve had better at many other places. If you go with a group tip is automatically included, so if service was bad you have no choice to give a lesser tip. We’ve decided not to go back.

First time here and the Happy roll sushi was very good. The service here was not very good. The three servers looked miserable, and therefore pretty much treated the customers the same way. And we were not the only ones. Dee received our sushi before appetizers. No one came to check on us or to see if we want to do anything else. Which we wanted two more rolls, another glass of wine and dessert but we were unable to get anyone to order extra stuff. We were ignored flat out. I couldn’t even get a glass of water until I received the check at the end. At The table next to us they had to go up and tell them they ordered iced tea and not a cola drink, they were ignored. Just a shame that their great tasting sushi was ruined by just bad service. they weren’t even busy when we were there so they weren’t overrun by work, they just didn’t care. We are Not going back. A real bummer

Some of the worst sushi I ever had and way too expensive for what they served. Ordered a scallop roll for like 14 or 16 bucks. Each piece had lots of rice, a tiny bit of paste of some kind, some cucumber, but no scallops. Miso soup was watered down. I did not make a fast because my ill wife was with me. Everything they had was over priced, especially for the lack of quality. Stay away.
