Pappardelle Pasta with Pork Ragu was excellent. The Grilled Octopus Salad was good but slightly tough but the seasoning was very good. The Garlic Flat bread went well with the meal along with the Rose Pinot Grigio from Sonoma. For desserts, the Tiramisu and Affogato really topped off this wonderful meal. The experience was made even better with our wonderful server Christie. Happy stomachs!!! 😋
Had a great time here today. Food (Aroncini, Pizza, Pollo, Grilled Artichoke) was terrific. Had a table for the 3 of us outside which was great since the weather was BEAUTIFUL! Our wait person was super nice and very attentive. It ain't a cheap place, but great value. I think the Aroncini was the star of our lunch. The pizza came from a wood-fired oven...and they nailed it. Could be our new favorite in Sauslito!
It’s our second time in this place. Delicious food. Everything we’ve taken was wonderful. Only the chocolate praline in my taste is too sweet. But that’s ok. I can live without dessert. One thing I don’t like - plates. They were old and not as clean (in some places) as the service requires.
One of my favorite restaurants in Marin. Good food, good service and really nice interior space. This is a good Italian restaurant for locals and tourists. Parking is not my favorite part but it’s worth it.
Amazing steak, amazing home made pasta, and amazing dessert. If you need a place for dinner, go no further. I have traveled the West coast for a few weeks and this place was the absolute best! The service was great as well.
We chose this restaurant to have a birthday lunch while visiting sausalito and we were not disappointed. We ordered the cauliflower custard, ravioli, mushroom amd spinach pizza and the creme brule. Everything was great. I particularly loved the cauliflower custard. The service was great. The ambience was perfect.
We had our Anniversary Dinner celebration there last night. The ambiance, food, wine, and customer service were perfect. The food and wine were bursting with delicious flavors. It was truly a delightful experience. We really loved it!
This is my fourth time coming here, and the service with Francesco is always the best. He always explains the menu to me. He always tells me the specials of the day. And I always want to come back because he… Every time I come here, he makes my day special. I love the service he gives me, and that’s why I keep coming back to this restaurant.
Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This Italian restaurant is an absolute gem! The food flavors are mouthwatering from start to finish. The halibut was so fragrant and delicious that people at the next table asked us what it was on the menu! The burrata was heavenly, creamy and fresh, and both the soup and salad were outstanding. Every bite felt like a celebration of authentic Italian flavors. Truly an unforgettable dining experience!
Poggio’s is a Sausalito staple. Great for drinks at the bar with friends, nice lunch in their outdoor bistro seating, or a fancier dinner for a celebration. Our table took 20 minutes longer than our reservation time, so we got cocktails at the bar (the martinis are great). When we finally sat down in a back of the room booth, it was still quite loud, so just a note for your audience. We got the wood fired flatbread which is like thin crust pizza dough that’s crispy in the edges, covered in oil and garlic. Simple but delicious. For appetizers, the burrata with pesto was large, and the pesto alone was amazing. The prosciutto and melon (it was honeydew) was as expected but still good. For mains, the risotto was exceptional, full of flavor and tons of seafood. The pappardelle pasta dish was decadent with a quail ragu (and an impressive amount of meat). The spaghetti alla amatriciana was simple, but well executed with a good portion of sauce. For the non-pasta lovers, the short rib was fantastic with the creamiest polenta. It was a little strange that a large (cooked) onion was just added to the dish, but good nonetheless. Wrapping up with dessert, the budino is the chocolate lava cake of your dreams. Even non-chocolate lovers will appreciate it. If you do have allergies, they’re great about confirming with the kitchen since some ingredients aren’t listed on the menu. Biggest highlight of the night was our waiter Jamsheed. He was attentive, thoughtful, helpful, and did his job with flare. Will definitely asked for him next time we come!
Absolute amazing dinner with family for a celebration. The best Italian food I can remember. Yummy from A to Z. We shared 3 appetizers, had 3 mains and 2 desserts, plus cocktails and wine (by the glass). Attentive, very friendly service, good recommendations. Nice atmosphere, low noise level. Highly recommended, we'll be back for sure!
Good food. Lots of vegetarian options. They customize well. Waiters are super helpful. Ver aunthentic food. Ambience is excellent for good time here. I didn’t like the mocktails much, found them very bitter. But food was good. Especially their ravioli. Oh my god. It was amazing. Delicious. I am usually not someone who likes ravioli but their ravioli was amazing.

I have eaten here several times as I am partial to Italian food. I like the place but I think it’s pricey. What was good about this time was that we were offered sparkling water that was complimentary. What was bad is that the elevator was out of order and I couldn’t find the restroom upstairs. I am a little disabled and it was difficult climbing the stairs. I couldn’t find the restroom and even up stumbling into some spa and eventually found one.
Came to visit the Golden Gate Bridge and then walked over to Sausalito, where we found this restaurant. We ordered two veggie pizzas (Margherita and Verdure), and they were amazing – truly authentic Italian pizza. The salad and bread, however, were not as good. Overall, it was a good experience.
I'm so happy that Poggio is my neighborhood restaurant. Every dish is always delicious and the atmosphere is first rate. I can even carry on a conversation with my dinner companions. Poggio is well known for its pasta made on the premises, but don't ignore the delightful melt in your mouth antipasti! 2025 update: I no longer live in Sausalito, but was delighted to share lunch with a friend at Poggio which still serves up a great espresso martini and pizza.
A very nice Italian restaurant, with a comforting ambiance that makes it a great place for a date or a nice night out. The food was very good, but except for the final creme brulee didn't quite reach outstanding. I was deliberating between 4/5 stars since Poggio is quite a bit nicer than some places I've given 5 stars. But it is a matter of expectation where I was looking for outstanding, and little things like a dirty wine glass jumped out from an otherwise excellent place.
Busy place with good service. The appetizers were good not great. If you want Italian bread order regular bread and not flat bread. The potato side wasn't very good. The watermelon salad was super refreshing. The mains we had were the best, rigatoni and agnalotti. We liked the panna cotta and tiramisu.

Poggio has a genuinely authentic Italian feel the moment you walk in. The layout leans traditional, with classic seating and a warm, old-world atmosphere that fits perfectly with Sausalito’s charm. The downtown boardwalk view is definitely a highlight - sitting by the windows overlooking the water adds a lot to the experience. Getting to the restroom upstairs going through the hotel with no direction, however, felt like solving a maze. Navigating the upper floors turned into a bit of an adventure on its own, not necessarily negative, but slightly confusing and unexpected. Food-wise, it was decent but not memorable. The pizza was okay, though slightly burned on the bottom, which affected both texture and flavor. Watch out for kids cheese pizza as it comes standard adult size one. For the price point, it felt a bit overpriced for what was delivered. The biggest drawback was the service. It was extremely delayed, and the wait between ordering and receiving food stretched far longer than it should have. Overall, it’s a pleasant, character-filled spot with a great location, but the execution didn’t quite match the setting. Three stars for strong atmosphere and views, average food, and service that needs improvement.
Today is my second time here with friends for lunch. The food is delicious. We’ve had the same female server though twice and both times she left our table waiting too long at each interval. Had to flag her down throughout the entire experience, including dessert and coffee which should not have taken that long (they were not busy). At one point I asked for a water glass and she sarcastically said oh sure, I do believe that’s something we have. Well she didn’t bring it and I had to ask another waiter after ten minutes. She’s not a good server. Would be nice to have a more attentive and nicer wait person next time. Otherwise, gorgeous room and great food. But service from her is really unpleasant.
We enjoyed it here but it didn't quite live up to its reputation. Service was very good and it would be a 3.5 if the half point was available. We found it to be on the expensive side. Good wine list and drink selection. The atmosphere was nice but nothing special. The food was good but not amazing as the prices would dictate. Atmosphere: 3.5 Food: 3 Service: 4 Drinks:4 Price/Value: 2.5 Overall: 3.5
Food: Pastas were flavorful, but the pappardelle were very sticky as due to it may gotten cooked way early and when the dish presented to us, the pappardelle were stick together and hard to eat. The half chicken was definitely not a full half size, unless it was a baby chicken used for the dish. Plus the taste and the cooking level of the dish was way unworthy of the value: skins overly cooked and I could find some carbonized smell, and as a result, inside protein was too well done. Service: we dined in around 12pm, and it wasn't too crowded or busy. It was a little hard for us to find our waitress for ordering a coffee when main dishes were completed and when we already had asked for a coffee menu. Plus I found the waitress was a little not caring for our table, but rather just go through the minimum motion of the work at our table.
