This was delicious. Really good pastor burrito, tacos only 40p each and 2-3 is enough per person, good margheritas too. Friendly staff and a coffee shop inside sells great frappes. Will definitely come back
a fav in PV. so laid back and quieter than other places when you want a more chill vibe. drinks are great, the volcanes can’t be beat!
If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Puerto Vallarta, Los Molcajetes is a must-visit! This place takes authentic Mexican flavors to a whole new level, and their Molcajetes are nothing short of legendary. A true feast for two, the Molcajetes arrive at your table sizzling hot, served in a volcanic stone bowl filled to the brim with succulent meats, juicy chicken, flavorful sausage, tender nopal (cactus), and an indulgent amount of melted cheese—all kissed with a touch of mezcal for that extra depth of flavor. The combination is rich, smoky, and utterly delicious, perfect for scooping up with fresh tortillas. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, with friendly service that makes you feel right at home. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Los Mol Molcajetes delivers a true taste of Mexico in every bite. Highly recommend!
The arrachera and al pastor tacos with fresh tortillas are the best! The orange salsa is spicyyy but very good. This place is a great taco spot in PVR. We came back twice in two days. The first time we ate outside by the street and didn’t know about the inside salsa bar with toppings. The second day we ate inside and there was live music which was lively and beautiful.
Honestly if you like Pancho’s down the road, you should definitely try this place. It has delicious authentic tacos with a lovely ambiance and without long lineups, so you don’t feel like you need to rush your meal. If you walk by this place on the street, it just looks like another taco restaurant, but when you head into the back you enter into a beautiful terrace surrounded by gardens and paintings. Great service too, as our server (Rudy) was super friendly, helpful, and attentive. We ordered all three pork tacos, the top sirloin, several volcanoes, and the guacamole. All the food was delicious, but the volcanoes and the guacamole were super amazing, so definitely try a volcano taco (we loved the Pastor and the Adobada)! FYI they also have a cute coffee bar at the back!
This place had some of the best tacos we had our whole trip. The tacos themselves were amazing and on top of that, they had a sauce and salsa bar where you could add even more flavour to the food. The drinks were very good and well priced. The building is nice too, you can sit outside in a courtyard kind of area. My only complaints was that the service was a tad slow, and a lot of the items on the menu were not available.

This has become my favorite place to eat in Puerto vallarta. Cost is great and portions are individual so you can order as many tacos etc as you like which is great if you don't like having left…
Being away from PV for six years sure brought a lot of change. This once abandoned corner spot across from Fredy’s Tucán is now a full-fledged eatery, Los Molcajetes, their third location in the chain. ATMOSPHERE: The open air space is quite large for the area, with covered sidewalk, indoor and patio seating. A small coffee & dessert counter sat off to the corner, with a “salad” bar in the middle of the patio that offered raw onions, fresh limes, beans, pico de gallo, sliced cucumbers and 5 different types of salsa for the taking. MENU: Traditional Mexican fare with an emphasis on molcajetes. FOOD: Mixed Burrito The server recommended this over getting just al pastor, which added sausage, steak, chicken and lettuce. The burrito was sizable, with a nice sear to the flour tortilla and tasty ingredients that didn’t require any additional sauces. Small ramekins of refried beans and guacamole accompanied. I tried some of the beans from the salad bar which were firm and very good. The spouse enjoyed their tacos and “volcanes” which were tostadas with toppings. DESSERT: Not available as the little stand closed up shop early. SERVICE: We were greeted and seated immediately at 10pm on a Monday as the place was slow. The food took a while to come out even with the thin crowds. At first impression, the male server seemed cold but his personality soon warmed and he ended up being friendly and attentive. TIP: Cash only. Open late (11p). OVERALL: Great addition to the area with substantial menu selections.
It was alright. I believe some nights they have live music. It was a Tuesday night so it wasn't crazy busy but nice to hang out with friends. There's also a bar in the middle as soon as you get your Tacos you can go to the bar to get your sauces, onion, Cucumber, beans, radishes and lime.
Food was unimpressive - meat was burnt. For four there wasn't that much although this was recommended by the waiter. The quacamole was good
We ended up at this taco place almost by accident. It was one of the few spots without many people, so we stopped without checking reviews. Once seated, the first surprise was the price. Paying around forty pesos for a small taco al pastor felt expensive for what you get. The flavor was not terrible, but nothing memorable either. Not being able to pay by card was inconvenient, and the salsa situation did not help. The salsas were kept elsewhere, so you had to get up, and the ones served at the table had no heat at all. The spicy salsa, on the other hand, had a very odd flavor, like plain ground chili with an aggressive heat but no real taste. Service was fast and polite, which I appreciate, but between the prices, the flavors, and the overall setup, it is not a place I would return to.
The tacos here are tasty. They have a fun toppings bar where you can apply your own sauces and other sides like radishes and cucumbers. 3 to 4 tacos is perfect for one person. The staff were attentive. The annoying thing about this restaurant is that they are cash only.
First of all don't ask question to the waiter because she wont answer them correctly. We stated is the plate we were ordering was good for 2 people she said yes. I'll post the picture of the plate. Then after she did not come to ask us if we wanted anything else. Food has no flavor so yes ur better off to eat somewhere else. The only thing i liked about the place was the oitside sitting by the coffee side.
If I d rate this place for it's backyard and breakfast I d give it 5 stars but for dinner ... Avoid avoid avoid. The food does not live up to local standards, the tacos are dry and each flavor we picked tasted like the one before. And to top it off the quesadilla tasted like the tacos and Vulcan like the quesadilla. The guacamole has to much onion and live music prevents you from having a conversation or understand the waiter. It's shame as the backyard is rather stunning and scenic and would be perfect if served up with dishes to bring out the potential romance of this place. Food presentation is nice, our waiter was a bit confused but nothing you couldn't deal with. Would I go back .. No
Worst experience for me in PV so far! Horrible service from one of the servers(I guess not everyone is like him) but this one was not friendly, didn’t provide water, plate or anything. This one was only after whites clients first which is really disappointing from this kind of location. Why so discriminating?? A lot of training needs to be done to some of their staff. I asked to speak to a supervisor but they said he was busy. For the food: I couldn’t finish it:the burrito had no taste and te steak horrible! For 260 pesos. No way I come back
We came here for dinner and drinks in February 2024. And we were fairly disappointed. It was our least favorite meal on our trip. We ordered tacos, volcanes, and quesadillas. We also ordered guacamole but it never never came. The food was pretty mediocre which was surprising because they show staff making the fresh tortillas from scratch at the front of the restaurant where you walk in. They were pretty skimpy on the meat compared to all the other restaurants we visited. The margaritas were average and not as good as others we've had in PV. Service was slow and inattentive. When we asked to have the guacamole removed from the bill (again, because it never came, so we didn't want to pay for something we never received) and the server immediately blamed the kitchen (which is poor form).
The food was good and waiter friendly. BUT quickly things changed as we asked for our check. The waiter brought the check and we paid in cash and included a 20% tip . He turned to leave then abr…
Wait was twice what they said it would be. Had to ask for everything multiple times aka drinks, condiments. Dogs barking and the same couple of kids screaming at the top of their lungs and no one says anything or asks them to quiet down. Out of pineapple. 25 minutes to get the check and finally leave. Food was very subpar and all we had were tacos and quesadillas. Never again. Will probably get sick from the terrible food later. ****AVOID!!!!*****
