Really great place! First time visiting. I love cold Bibimbap (I prefer it bc I can taste each ingredients better this way) and hubby got Hot-Stone bibimpop. Hear the sizzling! 😆🔥🔥🔥 As Korean, I can verify this is truly authentic Korean bibimbap. With Bracken, seasoned pepper radish and all other steamed veggies with seaseam oil finish! Yummmm! I know many Korean restaurants do easy, quick, cheat/cheap way of bibimbap. Not this one! Really appreciate it! Definitely going back! Definitely good portion I brought back almost half of them home. ❤️👍 THANK YOU! 감사합니다! Hubby wanna try BBQ next time! (And he is super picky eater! 😆😊)
Hands down, this is the best kimbap I’ve had so far. And that’s saying a lot—I’ve tried kimbap all over the city, including many places in Koreatown that everyone raves about. Unfortunately, those spots left me disappointed. The kimbap lacked flavor, depth, and authenticity, and honestly didn’t live up to the hype at all. This place, Yeomiji, is completely different. The flavors are balanced, fresh, and truly authentic. Every bite actually tastes like something—no bland rice, no shortcuts. The only other place in the city that has come close for me is Lululala, but I keep finding myself coming back here. That alone says everything. I’m definitely planning to try more items on the menu soon and will be back to review those as well. If you’re serious about good kimbap, this spot is not to be missed.
Fantastic dinner. First time trying Yeomiji and it was absolutely delicious. Felt very authentic type of Korean dishes. Two of our dishes came out in sizzling hot cast iron pans. The food was so nice and hot and remained that way throughout the entire meal. Delicious flavors in both my dishes. Korean style vegetable and seafood pancake was outstanding. May not be the healthiest of choices but so good for those times you would like to indulge. Will definitely return.
Great food and great service. We have eaten here or had takeout more than a dozen times. All the food is high quality, well prepared and flavorful. Never had a problem with gluten cross contamination so clearly they are careful. Bingsoo desert is fire as well.
This place has a very clean and relaxing atmosphere with Korean decor. The bathrooms are clean and they have TV + music. The food is ready super quickly and you are also passed out four refillable bowls of tiny appetizers. The servers are good with kids and very nice. The food is DELICIOUS! Better than most restaurants out there. You get complimentary water and rice.
I haven’t tried everything on the menu yet but my ultimate favorite is the vegetable fried rice with chicken and all I can say is it’s outstandingly delicious! My only issue is the container is not full and feel as though food is missing. Otherwise superb and the owner is such a hard worker and actually will deliver my food in a pinch. As you can see he is such a devoted owner and does everything! Thank you so much Yeomiji!
Yeomiji, a Korean BBQ restaurant opened up next to the DeCicco’s supermarket in Scarsdale a few years ago. While the restaurant is in a relatively small space that had been a small retail store, it has been thriving and developing a great reputation as a great restaurant for lunch and dinner as well as for their takeout menu. With the Coronavirus and our new anxieties about eating in restaurants, they are now offering outdoor seating in a huge tent that has been installed by the Scarsdale Business Alliance. While the tent serves the various restaurants in the town, Yeomiji offers table service and the meal we had was fabulous. If you are interested in great Korean food served by waiters wearing gloves and masks, you can enjoy a safe and delicious lunch or dinner.
The food is excellent and service was fast. We were seated very quickly on a Sunday night around 8 pm. Most of us ordered the soup dishes and the barbequed meats. I recommend the ginseng chicken soup, which is a whole chicken that is stuffed with sticky rice and immersed in a chicken broth, which as all done very well. If you don't like to cook your BBQ meats, you can order them already cooked. All of them were prepared well and were juicy and tender. They also offer cocktails and wines if you are looking to pair your meal with some alcoholic beverages. Overall, I would recommend this place for some good tasting Korean dishes.
What a great Korean spot! I was able to visit with some close friends during the week so it was slow. We had a reservation for a table top because we wanted to try the BBQ. We split the platter for two which was excellent. Pictured are some starters like the Korean veggie pancake and the japchae. I would recommend this location if you’re looking for a bite to eat in Scarsdale’s downtown area. They serve traditional Korean food and has great ambiance from the moment you walk in. I recommend visiting if you’re in the neighborhood.
I've been coming to this place for years. In the recent years, the atmosphere of this place has completely changed. It used to be like most Korean BBQ places where as if you choose to you can sit at a table with a grill, order raw meats and grill your food with your company. It's a cool experience, there's entertainment because you're cooking your own food etc. Now, if you choose to sit at one of these tables the owner of the establishment insists on cooking your food for you. Firstly, this means you have a waiter standing at your table 60% of the time you're trying to enjoy a meal with your company. Also, this waiter / owner decides that he is going to cook all of your food AT ONCE and then turn the grill off so everything he just prepared is getting cold while you try to hurry up and eat the food. He also undercooks everything. We didn't eat the pork that we ordered because it looked pink still. Why would you do this? If I wanted somebody to cook my meal for me I wouldn't choose the table with the grill. I would just order it from your normal menu and have you prepare it in the back. It completely defeats the purpose of a Korean barbecue, but it also ruins the atmosphere to have this stranger rushing you through your dinner. This absolutely has to change. It wasn't like this before, and it's seriously going to prevent me from choosing this establishment in the future.
Overall, it's an okay Korean place. Will describe my personal experience from the last visit. Hospitality - We were guided to the seat without a single word. I am not expecting a face full of smiles but it was quite awkward. Throughout our stay at the restaurant, there was no comfort spared for us, so we rushed to the end. Hygiene - even considering it was saturday, there were some concerns. I attached a photo of a table with sticky remaining/residue. Furthermore, in the men's restroom, there was a string of dust that was hanging near the vent like spider web. Didn't bring my phone to the restroom so no pic is available. Taste & Price - I checked some responses from the restaurant in the google review and they seem to be very proud of what they serve. We quite enjoyed their delicacies, although the beef flank soup was a bit salty and left me a sense of instant flavor. I usually order the same soup whenever I visit a new Korean place for comparison. I can definitely say it is beyond average but hard to agree with their claim. Their braised short ribs are 1.99 thumbs up. One may see the price tags are a bit excessive, but the vicinity is full of expensive places so I believe it is still within reasonable range. In summary, this place is worth a try. No further visits would be necessary for me.
We came with a party of two on a Sunday (free parking). We ordered the spicy pork bibimbap and the japchae. $$$ for disappointingly portion sizes. The japchae had barely enough noodles for one person. The bibimbap had a decent amount of food. The flavors were solid. Unfortunately, the service was non existent. There were two customers in the store and we had to go ask for service on multiple occasions. The food was solid but not as good as K-town. Overall, there isn't much competition for Korean food in the area. I would go to White Plains for Korean food if you are in the mood for bbq.
I really wanted to like this place. I ordered for delivery over $100 of: - fried dumplings (beef) - beef burger - beef kimbap - kimchi tofu stew (pork) - fried rice (shrimp) And the only thing I could swallow was the kimchi tofu stew which was good with the white rice but only the stew— the tofu was meh and the beef tasted sour in a not-good way. I am just so disappointed, I keep wanting to try Korean food but besides a few BBQ spots, they leave me time and time again disappointed. I might have to stick to buying from HMart and cooking it myself.
Unfortunately, we had a pretty frustrating experience here. When we arrived, we asked our waiter for a high chair, and instead of responding, he just walked away without saying a word. We asked another employee, and eventually the same waiter brought one over—but in a noticeably aggressive manner. It really set the tone for the rest of the visit. We ordered chicken wings, which actually had a good flavor, but they were undercooked. We also ordered salmon, and it came out completely raw in the center—ice cold inside, just seared on the outside. We had intended it for our 2-year-old, so we were obviously concerned. When we mentioned it, the response was simply, “Oh, you want it well done?” and they took it back to cook more. We would’ve appreciated a little more care or clarity around that. We also tried to order Korean BBQ, but were told we had to order a minimum of two BBQ items to use the grill. That policy wasn’t stated anywhere on the menu, which was frustrating and caught us off guard. Overall, the experience felt rushed and inattentive, and the service left a lot to be desired. It’s disappointing because the flavors had potential, but the lack of communication and care really ruined it for us. We won’t be returning.
I ignored all the bad reviews and decided to give this place a try. The fact that this restaurant is owned by Koreans is a total shame as this is NOT a Korean restaurant. This is a restaurant that serves Korean food, as if it was imitated by someone isn’t Korean. But the fact that it was owned by Koreans - I am definitely extremely disappointed. The other low one star reviews were right - the quality is terrible. Everything on the menu that we had ordered feels like it came from a food court cafeteria. No one in Seoul would be serving beef dumplings like that - no restaurant in Korea would be serving cold poor quality tofu pieces that is breaking and completely flavorless and definitely not - in an ox bone soup-it tasted like bland hot water with 5 littlest pieces of meat with thin white noodles - no matter how much pepper and salt you need to the broth - it was like drinking plain hot water. Only after we had asked about side dishes, that they brought out 2 little kimchi and broccoli almost at the end of our meal. I really cannot think of anything that this restaurant did well. Other Korean restaurants in white plains were way better, not to mention u get way more for your buck.
