We've been here several times but visiting Fri Feb 13th was better than normal. It's like quality was put back into the meals. I don't know if there is a new cook or a new process but the food tasted better than ever!!! The steaks were cooked to perfection. They also were seasoned very well. The lobster mash had more meat than we've ever had before (which we definitely appreciated for the price) and they taste it like fresh homemade potatoes not box. The broccolini was excellent. It was my birthday celebration so I was able to taste their signature butter cake which was really good to my surprise. The music was good. The service was great. The atmosphere was pleasant. A++ I just wish they would bring back the rye apricot bread. The onion roll was good but the rye was better.
We celebrated my birthday at Mastro’s Steakhouse in Scottsdale and it was exceptional from start to finish. They greeted me by name, wished me a happy birthday, and took us to the exact patio table we requested by the fireplace. Custom “Happy Birthday Brittany” menus were waiting at the table, which was such a thoughtful touch. We ended up having the patio to ourselves, making it feel like a private dining experience. The service was outstanding, the martinis were excellent, the seafood tower was incredible, and the buttercream cake was unforgettable. The patio ambience was perfect, and inside there was a fantastic piano player and vocalist. Truly an unforgettable experience.
Mastro's City Hall is by far my favorite steakhouse. The food is amazing, the drinks are spectacular and the ambience and service are great! Now I was never was too fond of steak until trying Mastro's. Their steak just melts in your mouth. I would always get the petite filet which I think is delicious. But as of recent my husband has been having me trying different steaks and this last time we went we got the tomahawk and wow. It's my new favorite Now we can't forget the appetizers and the sides--to me these are even better than the meal itself. From the lobster mac and cheese, to the creamed corn, to the garlic mashed potatoes....everything is delicious. Then my favorite part of the meal--- the warm butter cake with vanilla ice cream on top. This is to die for.
Mastro’s is a wonderful choice for a nice dinner. The restaurant interior is well decorated and cute, service was great, and food was delicious! We got the ribeye, garlic mashed potatoes, white cheddar lobster mac and cheese, and grilled scallops. Everything was flavorful and tasty. I highly recommend the scallops!
Celebrated NYE with espresso martinis, champagne toasts and a lovely atmosphere. Everything on the menu is phenomenal and of course we can’t leave without some butter cake - seasonal pecan and cinnamon flavor was delicious.
Anything you order will be incredible. The food and service are impeccable and the vibe here has good energy, live music, lots of beautiful people. We love City Hall 🥰
First time at this location . I was able to make reservations online easily. Our server was Cory and he was amazing! They currently had a summer special , 4 course meal for $80 with a wonderful selection of options and upgrades. We brought guest who have never been to Mastro’s and they said they really enjoyed it! Mashed potatoes, cream corn and mac and cheese were all delicious and must try sides in my opinion! We were excited to try the seasonal dessert, lemon blueberry butter cake! Thank you again to Cory and staff for the great service.
I’ve been here plenty of times and the food, service, and ambiance never disappoints. This is a great place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, and so much more. They give you fantastic suggestions from the menu and their food is always delicious. I always walk out so full because I can’t hold myself back! My favorite part is the pretzel bread, and we always get more to bring home!
The pork chop brought me to tears, I’ve been enchanted by the chef and the staff with their impeccable service. I will be praying for them and their congregation for the rest of my life. My tongue is traced with an ethereal aura that I will yearn for the rest of my days. This resteraunt made me second guess my own culinary ability and everything I’ve put in my mouth for the last 16 years. Brian and Ryan gave me the most ineffable service I’ve ever had, their dapper uniforms and manners compliment my ethereal meal.
Once again no disappointment here! My wife arranged for a spectacular Birthday dinner celebration. Carissa and the team delivered a fantastic meal with a great experience. If you love great food and experiences, better book a reservation.
I was fortunate to come here for my birthday everything was perfect I had lamb chops best I've ever had! the service was exceptional worth every penny
My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Mastro’s City Hall Steakhouse, and it was an unforgettable experience! The service was nothing short of impeccable—every staff member went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. The food? Absolutely decadent. Each dish was crafted to perfection, bursting with flavor, and left us wanting for nothing. The atmosphere was equally delightful—elegant, warm, and inviting. We were blessed to enjoy this meal as a gift from Jerry Seiner Dealerships, and it made the experience all the more special. The staff made every step of our journey easy and worry free. Thank you to the team at Mastro’s for creating such a memorable evening for us. We will definitely be back! Go see Fedja and Gary they will provide for you with an amazing experience through their service ! Thanks again guys !
23oz fills me up! Recommended by Kenny, the 35 day aged ribeye with the wagu tallow french fried were heavenly.
I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday and boy did I feel special. My first time here and this was the best fine dining service experience ever. My sister E planned for our parents to fly in as a surprise and dinner here with my family was the icing on the cake. Our waiter Billy was phenomal. He was personable, friendly, humorous, and kind. The other wait staff, management, and hostesses were awesome in making us feel as valued diners. The restaurant is very clean and well kept. The ambiance is cozy and intimate. Perfect for any type of dinner date. The food was served strategically to ensure everyone's meal came out at the same time. Being served was a delightful experience. The lobster mashed potatoes was the highlight of the sides and the steaks were delicious. The signature butter cake was excellent. Not too sweet, but just right. Served with ice cream and also a side of whipped cream made from scratch. Mouthwatering good. Looking forward to another amazing dining experience soon.
One of my favs in Scottsdale. It’s the OG of good food and amazing atmosphere here in Phoenix. The butter cake dessert is hands-down one of the most delicious desserts I’ve ever had.
Came here right after eating at Uchi on Tuesday evening (3/4/25) because he really wanted steak lol. We shared a steak and dessert. It looked pretty busy for a Tuesday night. Service is always good here. We were seated at a different table in the bar area at first but had asked to be moved to the side with booths instead. Staff were all friendly and accommodating. Our order: Large San Pellegrino $10 Ube cocktail w/ Rum $19 Stoli Dirty Martini x2 $54 Bone In Kansas City Strip $73 Creamed Spinach $16 Butter Cake $19 He asked for the steak to come out sliced so we could share. I was pretty full already so only had a few bites. Think I liked this steak better the last time we were here. It needed to be cooked just a bit longer. Wanted to save room for the delicious butter cake! We killed the dessert and I took home the leftover steak and side. I forgot the name of my ube cocktail. It comes with tequila but I subbed it with rum instead since I don't drink tequila. It was good! Im sure we'll be back again at some point
Spectacular evening at master City Hall. Our server, Nicole took excellent care of us and the food manager Ryan checked on us numerous times to make sure we were fine. Doesn't have oysters or great, the Wedge salad was outstanding with incredible excess of crunchy bacon and the ribeye steak was to die for. They served the steak pre-sliced with two super hot plates that sizzled when we put our slice of steak on it, we have not had that surface before and we loved it. Cocktails, and Manhattan and old-fashioned or top line and expensive, of course but worth it! We had a beautiful booth inside the bar where it was nice and quiet until the music played, but the music was excellent and not overpowering. The previous time we've been to master of the steak was subpar and we had not planned on going back and we are definitely grateful we did! Thank you for listening to our needs and taking such great care of us. We will ask for you again.!!
Our experience at Mastro’s City Hall in Scottsdale was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the front staff was incredibly accommodating, quickly fitting us in despite our accidental booking at a different location. The ambiance is immaculate, giving off old New York vibes with its dim lighting and beautifully clean setting. Our waiter, Christopher, was absolutely fantastic. His attention to detail and warm demeanor made the evening even more enjoyable. The food, as always, was immaculate. We started with the Fanny Bay oysters and shrimp, both of which were fresh and flavorful. I had the salmon, and my boyfriend ordered the steak—both dishes were cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were generous, especially with the sides of corn and French fries. To top off an already amazing meal, we had the butter cake for dessert, which is a must-try if you’re ever in the area. It’s absolutely divine. The wait staff, including those who cleaned our table between courses, were top-notch, ensuring everything was spotless and timely. If you’re looking for a place with incredible food, outstanding service, and a classic, sophisticated vibe, Mastro’s Ocean Club is the place to be. Don’t forget to order the butter cake—you won’t regret it!
A wonderful establishment for a fine steak. They have a great selection of bourbon, and wine. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable on the menu with exceptional recommendations on both wine and food. The atmosphere can be loud so if you're expecting a quiet dinner this is not the place. Overall great food and service would recommend anyone looking for a well rounded and delightful dinner.
Came here with my wife and it was delish. We both loved the food and the service was amazing
We sat at the bar and were served by Hailey. It was a very nice and quiet evening. I had a martini (Cosmo) very delicious for dinner we had a ribeye and a petite sirloin with sides of asparagus and gnocchi. Everything was delicious!
The ambiance of the restaurant is nothing short of amazing, striking a perfect balance between elegance and comfort. The lighting is thoughtfully designed to create an intimate dining experience, and the décor is sophisticated yet unpretentious, making it an ideal setting for both special occasions and casual evenings out. The culinary experience at Mastro's City Hall is equally impressive, with their steaks being a standout highlight. Each steak is cooked to perfection, showcasing the skill and attention to detail of the kitchen staff. The flavors are rich and savory, and the texture of the meat is consistently on point. Complementing the exceptional food is the impeccable service. The staff are attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure your dining experience is memorable. Mastro's City Hall is not just about great food; it's about creating a dining experience that leaves you looking forward to your next visit.
My husband and I dined here to celebrate our first anniversary on March 16th. This was my husbands first visit. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was very busy however; he had an assistant named Oscar and they were both very attentive. I normally have the filet, but last night we decided to order something different so we tried the 40oz Tomahawk. We ordered garlic mashed potatoes, a wedge salad, macaroni and cheese, a crab cake, shrimp cocktail, and a warm butter cake. Everything was amazing except our steak. We only had 1.5 hours for our dining experience otherwise we would have sent it back. We asked that it be sliced to share, and it was. The bone was charred, and frankly so was the Tomahawk. It was definitely prepared a little past well done and tasted burnt. Usually for special occasions restaurants will send out a special "item" to tables, not here.Overall, all of our other food was fantastic. We will definitely revisit, maybe try another location. At this price point, we just expected more of the Tomahawk. While the experience, ambience, and service was top tier from start to finish, spending almost $500 for dinner while the main entree was almost inedible, it's a little disappointing. Again, our other items were very delicious but spending $250 on an inedible steak is why I'm giving this two stars. Update 3/28 We were contacted by the GM of Mastro's and invited to return based on last experience. We were offered a $150 credit towards this visit. Much to our surprise, not only did they take care of our entire check, they also ensured that everyone that we interacted with acknowledged our anniversary from start to finish. Our food was amazing, service was spectacular, and Darren did a great job of taking care of our needs during dinner last night. We will absolutely return for the delicious food, but also for the impeccable dining experience. We genuinely appreciate the energy and effort exerted by the staff as they all ensured that we had a beautiful "anniversary do-over."
Mastros is very elegant and romantic. I love the food. The chef is the best here. His steaks literally melt in your mouth. The lobster Mac n cheese is really really good. The cheesecake is so decadent. The ambiance is like none other. The customer service is top notch. This is a true 5 star restaurant. The silver ware is so clean you can see your beautiful face through it. My husband loved this place so much and he normally isn’t into the fancy restaurants. The setup is just really elegant and classy.
My wife and I chose to have our New Year's Eve dinner at Mastro's City Hall and celebrate the conclusion of our babymoon. Even as you approach the entrance to Mastro's, you get an upscale, chic vibe, with their rippled frosted-glass doors. For New Year's, they had a large, beautiful ice sculpture in the entryway acknowledging the event, along with black and gold balloons throughout. We were seated promptly upon arrival for our 6pm reservation, despite a busy check-in area. Service at Mastro's is as top-shelf as their liquor selection. We had two servers attentively attending to us, in addition to a busser who carefully packed up our leftovers from each course. The Lobster Bisque was exceptional. Unfortunately, there was some difficulty with my wife's Chopped Salad, as it twice came without the artichokes, but we were not charged due to the error. I ordered the dry-aged Ribeye medium-rare, and my wife ordered the NY Strip medium. Honestly, we weren't sure if they were cooked to order because the dining room is so dark it's difficult to read the menu, nevermind see the color of your steak. The steaks were tasty, though. Not the best steaks we've had, but good quality. A highlight for me here was the cocktail menu. Not only is it more extensive than other steakhouses in the area, they are well-conceived and executed. In the spirit of New Year's Eve, I tried the Sazerac, Penicillin, and Jet Setter, all fantastic whiskey cocktails. For dessert, we ended up with three items for two people, as we were presented with a congratulatory cheesecake in addition to the Chocolate Sin Cake and Mastro's Signature Butter Cake we ordered. All the desserts were rich and delicious. I particularly enjoyed the butter cake. Overall, we had a lovely, leisurely dinner to ring in the New Year.
I had an amazing experience at Mastros with my gf. They accommodated everything we needed and the waiter was fantastic. This is a classic swanky steakhouse with a great location. I chose to valet and that went smoothly as well. I recommend a steak of your choice with a side of bernaise sauce (like a hollandaise) with a bottle of red. The bread basket was super yummy, and we also ordered sushi as an appetizer which was solid and novel. Special recommendation their signature warm butter cake was to die for. Do that with a cappuccino.
The food the ambience the staff everything here is absolutely amazing just really bring your checkbook. It’s going to cost you. You don’t really have to spend a lot to get a really good meal but if you really wanna have a nice night out and just forget about everything their menu is absolutely outstanding. We had the lobster roll and the wagyu steak was just melts in your mouth. I don’t think I would go for the $250 portion that’s just 4 ounces but the 10 ounce or the 8 ounce is great. I would probably also avoid the caviar honestly I don’t have a great flavor for it and you could probably spend your money on the better items over there like the sea scallops are amazing the lobster roll is amazing and their gnocchi is fantastic as well. Their staff is very knowledgeable on their wine list and the food pairing that you would like to do with them and it’s really just an overall great experience you can’t really go wrong.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unforgettable Dining Experience at Mastro’s City Hall – Scottsdale, AZ Daniel, is an extraordinary server — truly one of the best we’ve ever encountered anywhere. As seasoned foodies who’ve traveled far and wide, we understand the difference between good service and exceptional hospitality, and Daniel exceeded every expectation. What began as a casual Wednesday dinner became a memorable dining experience we’ll never forget. Daniel’s attention to detail, timing, and genuine care stood out from the moment we were seated. He anticipated our needs effortlessly and elevated every aspect of our meal. Equally impressive was the teamwork — the general manager, floor manager, and staff all worked together seamlessly. Multiple team members brought our food, ensured comfort, and set each plate perfectly. It’s rare to see an entire staff perform with such excellence and grace. The food, as always, was superb, and the atmosphere at Mastro’s City Hall continues to define Scottsdale fine dining. Located conveniently across from Scottsdale Fashion Square, it’s the perfect spot after a day of shopping if you’re looking for great food, outstanding service, and an authentic dining experience. Do yourself a favor — ask for Daniel, and remember to tip generously (28%+). He and the Mastro’s team have earned it. The O. Family!
We had an incredible experience with perfectly cooked food, excellent service from Christopher and an attentive staff that allowed our party to enjoy a 4 plus hour dinner. Thank you for your attentiveness to our food allergies, great suggestions and a phenomenal night out!
One of the best meals we've ever had in our life. The service was outstanding. Christopher was our waiter- Outstanding. Cole made sure we had a clean table in between courses and always a full water glass (very important with this heat). The attentiveness of the managers. We had 3 stop by for a friendly chat and to make sure our experience was excellent. I can't say enough about the service and the Outstanding quality of food.
I had an amazing experience. I came from out of town on the Friday night of Valentine's Day weekend. I had an early reservation, but I was rear ended on the highway in route. I informed the restaurant and they were amazing as I was a 90 min late. A big Thanks to Rudy our server for making it a great night as this was a great night to take my daughter out and meet up with old friends. The patio was a great spot, as I could hear the live music as I ate the great food.We enjoyed the KC strip steak and Hamachi sushi for entrees. The butter cake was ridiculously good. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
Mastro’s City Hall never disappoints. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful experience thanks to our bartender, José, who was incredibly attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. He crafted excellent cocktails and poured fantastic wine throughout the evening. The food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the New York strip, perfectly cooked, and the scalloped potatoes, rich, indulgent, and truly worth every bite. Thank you, José, for a memorable dining experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We got take out and it was so good. I don’t think I’ve ever had a takeout steak arrive perfectly cooked. We also got two salads. They were huge and we could have split one. The Mambo Caesar was better than the wedge. The butter cake was to die for. Highly recommend getting it. Best restaurant dessert I’ve had in years.
We flew from Seattle to Scottsdale for our 19th anniversary and decided on Mastro’s City Hall for dinner. What an excellent choice. From the moment we arrived until we left the it was excellent service. The hostess greeted us with a smile and then led us to our table. We were met by our waiter Chris who was nice and pleasant. He was also very knowledgable about all the food items on the menu. We started with the bacon and shrimp and it was delicious. Later the GM Jeff came over and introduced himself and we asked him for some recommendations. Let me tell you he did not steer us wrong. We had a few filets and several side dishes. When the food came out it looked amazing and smelled good. The filet was nice and tender and the sides that we ordered were very tasty. When it was time to order dessert there were plenty of choices but the GM and Chris already had a sample platter for us that was on the house since it was our anniversary. The key lime pie was phenomenal and my wife loved the butter cake. Overall it was a great experience and I can’t wait to go back. Also, we kept the menu as it was personalized for our 19th anniversary.
Always a great experience!! The scallops were cooked perfectly and honestly, the best I have had. Ribeye, KC Strip and Pork Chop were delicious. Sides as always were over portioned perfectly and served by team members and management including the GM. Service was amazing through out our experience as well! My guests were completely blown away by the entire experience and are already asking when we can go to Mastro’s City Hall again. 5 Stars Highly recommend
If you are looking for a dining experience where you are treated like a VIP from the moment you sit down, this establishment sets a high bar. However, while the hospitality is world-class, the kitchen’s execution fluctuates between brilliance and mediocrity. The service here is truly outstanding. The staff is incredibly attentive without being overbearing. Our server provided a detailed, passionate description of the menu that made every dish sound like a masterpiece. The "white-glove" touches really elevate the evening, receiving warm towels immediately after the seafood course was a refined touch. The presence of a bathroom attendant ensures the high-end feel extends to every corner of the restaurant. The meal started on a high note with a seafood tower that was executed to perfection. The accompanying tartar, cocktail, and horseradish sauces were all balanced and bright—clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Bone-in Ribeye: This was the star of the meat courses. The flavor was spot-on and lived up to the steakhouse expectation. Petite Steak: Unfortunately, this was a bit of a letdown. It was "fine," but ultimately underwhelming for a restaurant of this caliber. The Sides & Dessert: The vegetable sides were the surprise winners; both the asparagus and mushrooms were expertly prepared. Conversely, the starchy sides, the scalloped potatoes and creamed corn, were disappointing, arriving underseasoned and lacking depth. We ended on a high note, however, with the buttercake. It was simply outstanding and a mandatory order for anyone with a sweet tooth. The Verdict This is a great destination if you prioritize amazing table service and a polished atmosphere. However, if your primary goal is the perfect steak, you may find a better "bang for your buck" elsewhere in town. You are paying a premium here for the experience and the seafood rather than the consistency of the grill.
Food was great. Loved the bread. My steak was cooked wrong and the second one came out better but still not really medium. The cheesecake for my birthday was really good. Loved the skinny spicy margarita.
Attended a business dinner with about 40 people in a private room at this classic steakhouse in Scotsdale. The appetizers and entrées were top notch and the desserts were all on point. The service however was a bit rushed and curt. A couple requests were acknowledged but not followed up on by my server. I am looking forward to returning to Mastros City Hall and experiencing it with smaller party of 2 or 4.
I want to give Mastros 5 stars, and it deserves it for the food and service - but the atmosphere is kind of disappointing. Considering the high prices, it would be expected that patrons show up in respectable attire. My friend and I followed the clothing recommendations (why bother having a dos and don’t wear list if they aren’t followed) stated on the website, wearing nice jackets, ironed shirts, dark jeans, and nice shoes. Unfortunately, to our dismay, the dress code policy was not enforced - hence a knock down of a couple of stars. Maybe it’s a post pandemic thing and there’s become a human right to roll off the pool patio wearing baseball caps and cheap t-shirts while acting boorish, even when enjoying a $500 steak. The restaurant was full of such individuals, and their behaviour overshadowed the decent looking patrons and the performance of the talented pianist. That being said, the chopped salad I ordered was enormous and delicious, and the Rib Eye steak was one of the best I've ever had - hot and perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sides, including brussels sprouts and cheesy scalloped potatoes, were also outstanding. These dishes and the attentive service meet the high standards set by the restaurant, but it’s on gatekeepers to enforce the dress code standards it sets for the patrons - otherwise don’t post any at all and submit to the general causal attitude everywhere. *Update: Floor manger Jake called to apologize, which was very classy.
Sadly, the days are gone when going to a nice restaurant and paying outrageous prices was expected but somehow seemed worth it. Two Old Fashioned drinks with Woodford Reserve cost $50. Steaks on an empty plate start at $70-90. I could go on about how inflation has killed the joy of going out to eat, so instead I will tell you about the good and the bad of my experience. We were a group of 10 and service for most part of it was great, until the latter half of dinner when our waiter seemed to have disappeared for quite a while. Music was loud in the bar area and I expected it to be a little quieter on the dining side but no, same music and loudness. Disappointing at this price point to have to raise your voice at the table to be heard. First to arrive to the table were two seafood towers which was the best part of the night. A variety of west and east coast oysters, crab legs, lobster claws, shrimp, caviar... it was impressive, delicious, and filling. We ordered a variety of items off of the menu and shared tastes so I can give my opinion on a few. The Loster bisque was generous an full of creamy flavor, the chopped salad was small, wet and lacked flavor from the dressing. The bread service is worth the $5. The mac and cheese with lobster tasted fishy and not like there was lobster in it...it was gross and not worth it. The steaks were all cooked to perfection, as they should be, and the bone marrow butter was super delicious. The stuffed pork chop was tender and had a great smoky taste - if they offer to top it with slab of broiled pork belly (thick bacon) definitely do it. The fish dinners were small and left somthing to be desired. Most all of the side dishes are shareable size so keep that in mind, the best might be the mushrooms. The butter cake that everyone boasted about was incredibly regular. Sorry. Concluding, our group had a great time because we are a fun group, but I can't justify the prices for the experience.
The food was executed well. The interior was comfortable. However, I was very shocked to see how many people were under-dressed. Sneakers, hats, sweatshirts... is this an upscale steakhouse or sports bar? There should be an enforced dress code. I saw a lady in flip flops - standards don't need to change because so people are classless and lazy. Be better than The Keg.
3/5 because of the service. First, the spicy salad was awesome. Also, Chicken was great. However… the cheesebread had a small string on it and the cheesecake itself was good but the blackberry that came on the side was moldy. My main issue was an unpleasant experience I had overall due to service. I saw people around my table was offered refills or more drinks as my drink was almost empty for the whole time I was eating dinner. Wish I had a better experience. Although most of the food was tasty, I am not sure if I will return again at this time!
I felt like the steak was severely lacking a wow factor. You can tell their meat is really high-quality, but it almost felt like I could’ve made that same steak at home (6 ounce fillet and ribeye was our order). The steak bite appetizers were awesome and the lobster mashed potatoes were OK. The butter cake was amazing. The only reason I wouldn’t rate the service higher is because it almost felt like our waiter forgot we were there and it took us a long time to order a cake, but our drinks were always full.
I was there on September 2, 2025 and the service was abysmal. The place was empty with maybe 6 people sitting at the bar and maybe the same amount total in the massive dining room and bar tables. We sat at the bar and inexplicably waited for 15 minutes for the bartender to take our drink order. We were about to leave when he finally came over. We should have left because it got worse. There were 5 in our party, which was about the majority of the patrons in the place. We had to flag down the bartender to order and then we waited about 50 minutes from our order for the food to come out. If we wanted another drink, we had to flag down the bartender to get refills on drinks/. I waited 10 minutes once for the bartender to bring by bottled beer after ordering. We had to flag the bartender down to get our bill after again waiting. It turned into a 2 hour dinner in an empty restaurant. This place has gone down hill fast. The prices are too high and the competition too fierce to put up with this putrid service. This used to be a solid place, but I see no reason to go back.
This was my first time dining at Mastro’s, and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. We were celebrating my nephew’s 18th birthday, which made the situation even more unfortunate. We were seated in the main dining area between several extremely loud tables. The noise level was so overwhelming that it was uncomfortable—we could barely hear one another speak, let alone enjoy a conversation. The roasted bone marrow was unacceptable. There was virtually no marrow at all—just a large piece of bone—yet I was charged $30 for it. It was honestly hideous and not what I expected from an establishment of this reputation. The New York strip was also a letdown. It was oily, poorly seasoned, and not prepared to my satisfaction in any way. Overall, this Mastro’s location needs significant improvement. My experience was truly disappointing and far below the standard I expected. On top of that, they put my nephew's to go bag on the floor. Shocking, after all, the money that was spent!!!
My sister in law was so impressed with Maestros on her recent visit, that she gifted my husband with a $250 gift card for us to check it out. The atmosphere was very nice; and the server, Daniel, was exceptional. The food was just okay. I expected so much more. The cauliflower was dry and tasteless, the steak was good but not exceptional, the creamed spinach was good but nothing special. The salad was tasty. Daniel brought me a cake to celebrate my bithday which was a nice touch that we shared. My sea bass was cooked to perfection and was a very large portion, but it lacked salt. It came with 2 shrimp, which i do not remember adding on, for an additional $22.00. My husband and I ate the exact same things with the exception of the sea bass ( I tried a bite of his steak) and he did not get sick. I had not eaten anything all day. I got violently sick from the sea bass, it started on the drive home. I had a horrible stomach ache. I was up ALL night with stomach cramps, accompanied by diarrhea. I know for a fact that it was the sea bass that I had eaten. What a very disappointing end to an otherwise wonderful birthday. A Maestro's unHappy Bithday to me. A memorable dining experience for all the wrong reasons. Thanks. I would not recommend Maestros. It's a once and done based on my experience.
Be very careful when the waiter tells you they have a few off menu items. You better be sure and ask the price now hear me out. I didn’t go there wanting a price budget place but when your steak topping is double of what your fillet is, you got big problems i.e. ordered a fillet $62 ordered the crab meat to go on top 75 when I asked for an explanation, the waiter and the manager disappeared for 30 minutes. All I wanted to do is ask a question I would not recommend this place. The food was just OK lots of Greece and I’ve eaten a lot of top in restaurants. This is not one of them that I would recommend going to it all.
We have celebrated our birthdays at Mastro’s City Hall for the last 15 plus years. Unfortunately last evening will likely be our last. We There were only half a dozen tables occupied as we ordered our cocktails from our waiter. After waiting 20 minutes the bartender showed up with one cocktail and said that was the only order the waiter put in. We reordered and after about 10 minutes another person came by and said they were out of that brand. We reordered a different brand and after another wait it was finally delivered. As we had now been waiting 30-40 minutes for our cocktails we got the waiter back and put in our food order. The blue cheese wedge was brought out and was very disappointing. Very little blue cheese and a watery dressing of some sort. Next were the 8oz filets, ordered med/pink center. When they arrived they were very well done and either started out at 4-6oz or ended up that way after drying out in the cooking, The sides of fries and creamed corn were fine although as we did not finish them we asked to take them home. We finished with the butter cake which was delicious although it was served with a massive piece of Chocolate Birthday Cake. We have dined here when it is packed and had a terrific meal and evening. Somehow, with only a few tables it went completely of the rails. To top it off the sides we were going to take home somehow disappeared when the were being boxed. Very disappointing
What a waste of money and time. A party of 5 with 3pm reservations on Thanksgiving-$750. 1 bottle of wine and 3 desserts to share. We all got the 6 oz petite filet - the cheapest on the menu. It's served on a platter the size of Mt. Everest. 3 vegetables ordered served family style. The garlic truffle cauliflower was dry and burned, the asparagus likened spaghetti and I couldn't find lobster or cheese in the lobster Mac n cheese. The tables are so close together the servers barely had room and so noisy we practically had to scream to have a conversation. Valet parking is a joke I'm sure by the drivers - they park 15 ft from drop off point
I had a terrible experience at Mastro’s Steakhouse - City Hall. My credit card bill came out to $620, but my card was charged four different times, and I ended up missing about $2,400 from my account. When I spoke with the manager, Ryan, he was extremely unhelpful and came across as degrading. Instead of taking responsibility or trying to resolve the issue, he told me there was nothing he could do and that I needed to contact my bank because it “wasn’t his fault” the waiter ran my card multiple times. This situation caused unnecessary stress and frustration, and the lack of professionalism from management made it even worse. I expected far better customer service from a restaurant of this reputation. I would strongly caution others to carefully check their charges if dining here.
