I could write a 3-page essay about how amazing this restaurant is, but here are the highlights of our dinner this past Saturday night. Drinks: great wine list with plenty of red, white, and sparkling options; creative craft cocktail options too, and a nice 10-yr port with dessert. Food: Outstanding! Oysters Brock-a-fella is a must, along with the tuna crudo; Chilean sea bass and Fijian yellowfin tuna were cooked to perfection with amazing complimentary flavors. And definitely get a side of the smashed potatoes. The salty sweet flavor of the RockCreek S’mores was heavenly and the ricotta apple beignets would compete well on Bourbon St. But what topped everything was the service experience. Craig and Chelan were exceptional with their recommendations, and with being attentive while also giving us space to talk in between courses and enjoy the meal experience. Service from these two is on par with any 5-star establishment. If you haven’t been here, make it a point to go, and go soon! We’ll be back whenever we visit Seattle!
Amazing food and service. Note some of the dishes had dairy modifications for our dietary preferences. Portions are a bit smaller so plan accordingly. Great spot!
Absolutely delicious food, clearly prepared to highlight the incredible ingredients and more specifically the seafood. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, I look forward to coming back in summer when the garage door will be open to the outside.
This place should be full from the start of happy hour to close every day. Stop scrolling and go here. Let’s start with the food: the smoked trout salad is a sleeper hit—bright, flavorful, smoky, and beautifully balanced. The calamari is crisp and tender (no rubbery bites here), and the clams are briny perfection. If baked oysters are your thing, theirs are must-orders—savory, satisfying, and exactly what you want alongside a strong cocktail. The cocktails themselves are thoughtfully crafted and seriously drinkable—an excellent excuse to settle in and stay awhile. RockCreek delivers on everything you want from a seafood happy hour and a high-end seafood dinner experience. Come for the food, stay for the drinks, and leave very, very happy. Go drink and be merry!
The food was delicious. I ordered fresh oysters and the lamb ragout. The espresso martini they make here the super tasty. The foam on top is such a smooth texture. 👌🏽 The wagyu short ribs are very tender and cooked perfectly. The waiter took too long to come take my order before happy hour ended, so I flagged down (nicely) a super sweet waitress, and she took over no problem and got everything we needed before the happy hour ended. But overall, the service was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere, I like the set up, it's an open floor plan with a good seating arrangement. And the mood lighting works well for a date night, birthday gathering, or just a company dinner. Update: I unknowingly ordered the same items again for my second time visiting Rock Creek. I did order an additional oysters shooter, the Bloody Vodka. It was good. I wish I ordered the oysters starter and shooter together. But I know for next time. The swordfish dish was recommended by my friend, though! & enjoyed the spicy margarita shooter as well. I also order the Burrata & tomato, it's definitely different than others I've tried before. It's good but something that I won't be ordering again. The green olives and the orange sauce didn't go very well for me personally. But I like being adventurous and trying new dishes here so no regrets.
I like the kind of restaurant where the food is good and the atmosphere is casual. This is that kind of restaurant. We ordered the bread, clams, cauliflower, Bloody Mary oyster shooter, Vesuvio pasta, and Whole Grecian Branzino. Honestly everything was DELICIOUS. Surprisingly, the pasta was the Star (a unique mix of flavors that worked so well). Nothing was overly heavy, everything was healthful. Cocktails and wine also excellent. For dessert we ordered the key lime pie and apple beignets….yum!! P.s. thank you *Caressa* for the excellent service!!
Classy place, interesting food, well made, attention to detail. A bit pricey but worth it for a special occasion.
Delicious seafood, but expensive! The smoked trout salad is excellent. We were a little disappointed with the Fijian tombo tartare—it's not bad, just lacking a little something to take it over the top (maybe just some more salt?). For mains, the branzino is essential. The seafood stew is also really good. And the apple beignets are certainly decadent! Great to split with a few folks. Just be ready for a steep bill!
We came for oyster and stayed for the wonderful happy hour. I couldn’t pick my favorite dish! They were playing fun music from a wide variety of genres. Service was excellent and the restaurant was beautiful. Thanks for a great experience!!
We came here for a business meeting. The location was very accommodating to our needs and gave us an amazing seat our on the private patio. All of the food had amazing flavor and was seasoned very well. Drinks were all on point and we had at least one server and two bussers helping us with our plates. Overall I would take my partner here for a nice date night. The food was on point and the atmosphere was very laid back.
Loved it. The food, service, and atmosphere. The food was fresh and inventive. They specialized in seafood, but non seafood eaters still had plenty of options. PRO TIP - the whole Branzino fish is huge and comes in a Platter 18" long. They debone it at the table.
I had such a great dinner at RockCreek Seafood! I started with a hot toddy, and the hint of pear shrub was such a nice touch—warm and perfectly balanced. I got to try a bite of my friend's Mussels Bruschetta with saffron aioli, and wow, it was bursting with flavor. For my main dish, I went with the Columbia River Sturgeon, a fish I'd never had before, and I absolutely loved it. Perfectly cooked and so delicious. Our server was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food came out quickly, and everything was just spot on. Definitely one of those meals where you feel like every penny was well spent. Can’t wait to go back!
Absolutely LOVED the food, the service was 10/10 and exceeded our expectations. We ordered: a dozen local oysters (Shikoku and Kumamoto are my favorites), the octopus, burrata and beets (without pistachio as we have a nut allergy and they were so kind and accommodating), mezcal and oyster shooters, calamari, and then for mains we had the Chilean sea bass and rockfish with smashed potatoes. The desserts!! DO NOT SKIP! The beignets and the s’more’s chocolate mousse. A must if you’re in the north Seattle/Fremont area!
Excellent restaurant building delightful flavors. We enjoyed the octopus, cauliflower salad, Chilean sea bass, and lamb ragu. The key lime pie, however, was a major let down and more closely resembled yoplait yogurt than a pie or custard.
Love this place! It's my first time, I went for brunch with my daughter. We both had the crab cakes with poached egg and hollandaise sauce. Simply amazing! Service was great and so were the cocktails. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu options and cocktails.
RockCreek Seafood & Spirits is by far one of my favorite places to eat. The atmosphere was awesome, and the food was even better. We started with a dozen fresh oysters, and they were absolutely delicious. Another standout appetizer was the Mussels Bruschetta—the flavors were amazing, and the fresh dill on top sent my taste buds into overdrive. My wife ordered the Fijian Yellowfin Tuna, which was fresh and delicious. Our server, Billy, recommended the Blackened Hawaiian Ono, and it was incredible—definitely a must-try. For dessert, we somehow managed to finish the s’mores dessert, which was really nice. Billy was great company and made our experience even more enjoyable. He was super cool and attentive. Overall, RockCreek Seafood & Spirits is a fantastic spot for seafood lovers, and I can’t wait to go back! Also happy hour was fantastic!
The seafood was excellent and fresh, the oysters were some of the finest I've had around Seattle. Atmosphere was really nice and the staff were very lovely. Prices are surprising not bad for the area and resturant. I like their cosmopolitan themed menu with European and Asian takes on different dishes. They do alot of great small plates that are nice to sample with your friends while waiting for entrees.
Their happy hour is a great deal, and their main menu also has some really good selections as well. Never disappointed when I come here. Go on a sunny and sit outside.
I celebrated my birthday dinner here with my husband. I had been to RockCreek 5 years before on a work trip. So when my husband and I decided to travel from NYC to Seattle for my birthday, I had to book another visit to RockCreek. And RockCreek lived up to my memory and expectations. We were greatly warmly by the hostesses. Our waitress was amazing. She helped me pick the best dishes on the menu and even picked the wine I had with my entree. I had oysters, the Mediterranean muscles, and the blackened Ono. Each dish was excellent and unique. My husband had the tuna tartare and Lamb Ragout, which he enjoyed. We finished with the s’mores and beignets. Also excellent. Highly recommend RockCreek and will definitely return on my next trip.
Highly recommend especially if you're after seafood!!! Staff were awesome Karissa (sorry if I got that wrong) looked after us and had great recommendations... We ate everything!!! Dessert is a must!!! There were four of us and we shared the three plates and couldn't eat it all. Value for money and with tip - well worth it!!! $82-$85ish per head... even with our exchange rate!!!
Great food and drink selections. Ordered the bbq octopus, sea bass Provençal, scallops, and selection of different WA oysters. Our server was quick and helpful with menu. I would’ve expected a $50+ entree to at least come with a rice or other starch but simple sides were an additional $15. 🤷🏻♂️
Delicious! The grilled yellowfin was really good, but someone else ordered the scallops and they were amazing. The potatoes were insane as well. The mussels bruschetta was good. The s’mores mousse dessert was awesome too!
This is the first evening of our arrival in Seattle and we are so happy to have found this place. We had an excellent dinner and our server Carissa could not have been more charming and efficient. Highly recommend.
Probably my favorite restaurant in Seattle! My partner and I snagged a high top in the bar for happy hour - we got there at 4:30 and had to wait 30 mins but it was worth it! We ordered everything on the happy hour menu plus the Chilean sea bass main with a spritz and an Austrian ale, and everything was phenomenal and so very decently priced! The bruschetta with muscles and saffron aoli was easily one of the best things I've ever eaten, you have to try this place just for this small plate. The crudo and calamari were close runner ups, especially the calamari's tomatillo salsa! Drinks were refreshing and tasty, happy hour menu was bomb, and the Chilean sea bass main was beautifully buttery and delightful. We split the key lime pie and beignets dessert and wowowow those beignets were delightful. All this for $150 made a solid date night splurge. Definitely recommend! Edit: we returned for brunch in August 2023 and loved it still! Interesting southern fusion eclectic style made for a tasty brunch with huge portions at a great price! More photos added.
We are all different, but these potatoes are the best I have ever had. Might be the fondue 😂. The sea bass was suggested and it did not disappoint. Melts as soon as you close your mouth. My wife loved her scallops. The beignets were good. The service was excellent.
I need to tell you about Rock Creek because holy hell, Seattle just became my favorite food city and it’s entirely this place’s fault. I walked in thinking “yeah yeah, another seafood spot” and walked out genuinely considering moving here. Not even joking. The oysters… okay so imagine the most perfect first kiss you’ve ever had. That anticipation, that moment right before, then that rush when it happens? That’s these oysters. Each one is like a tiny ocean deity decided to bless your mouth personally. They had kusshis that were so clean and briny I actually moaned out loud (the couple next to me definitely heard, zero regrets). The mignonette wasn’t just an afterthought either - it was this champagne situation that made everything sparkle. I had two dozen. By myself. The server kept bringing them and I kept saying yes like some kind of shellfish succubus. But wait because the apps nearly killed me. The tuna crudo came out looking like abstract art and tasting like… okay you know when something is so good you get angry? Like legitimately mad that you’ve been eating inferior food your whole life? That. The hamachi collar was basically foreplay on a plate - crispy skin giving way to this buttery flesh that just melts while you’re still processing what’s happening. My Australian heart wants to compare it to good barramundi but honestly that’s insulting to this fish. And don’t even get me started on the grilled octopus because I will literally never shut up about how they got it that tender while keeping that perfect char. I’ve had octopus in Greece, in Portugal, in that place in Boston that everyone raves about - this destroys them all. The desserts though. THE DESSERTS. I don’t even like sweets usually but their pastry chef is clearly some kind of witch because those beignets? I would let it ruin my life. Actually no, it already has because now I have to come back here every time I’m in Seattle which means I need to find more reasons to be in Seattle. This place isn’t just good. It’s “cancel your dinner plans for the rest of the week” good. It’s “text your ex at 2am about oysters” good. It’s “consider taking out a second mortgage just to eat here weekly” good. Rock Creek doesn’t just serve seafood - it serves experiences that’ll haunt your dreams in the best possible way. Absolutely wrecked. 10/10 would let it destroy me again.
A most enjoyable dining experience in one of my favorite neighborhoods in Seattle. Chef Eric Donnelly does much justice to our Pacific Northwest oysters offering fresh, delicious varieties. I began with a raw sampling chosen by my server, each one fabulous. Next, being a lover of baked oysters (the menu offers them prepared two different ways: Oven Roasted Oysters 'Brock-a-Fella', which are topped with bacon, shallots, thyme, and tamarind butter, and Oven Roasted Barron Point Oysters, prepared with toasted garlic, fennel, lemon, and pastis). Sampling both, each way delicious, however, I especially enjoyed the ‘Brock-a-fella’ preparation because it reminded me of the classic New Orleans way of preparing oven roasted oysters. I dined with a longtime friend and we shared a couple of other dishes, heavily influenced by European and Asian cuisines. Chef Donnelly does a great job combining local and global culinary traditions to create innovative and vibrant dishes. I look forward to returning, one can only eat so much in one sitting and RockCreek has so many other options that I have to try.
We were in town on vacation and this was our first dinner. We'd read about the place. It's a bit of an odd atmosphere for food this good. It feels like a neighborhood joint (with a burger place semi-attached to the main restaurant), but the seating was comfortable and we could linger. The service was very good, and in general the pacing of the courses was good (there was one gap that was a wee smidge long). We started off with a dozen kumuato oysters (great to have them this fresh!). Then on to Fijian Tombo tartare with rye crackers (I love rye anything, but here the rye overshadowed the fish a tiny bit). Then Point Hudith Calamari 'Kari Out' (so good!!!! and fun presentation). Then on to Patagonian red shrimp enchiladas (nice!). And finally we also had the Neah Bay Rockfish with coconut lime broth (so fresh and refreshing and nice zing). We wrapped it up with apple beignets with caramel creme anglaise. And I forgot about the cocktails! Excellent stuff. And they had some nice by the glass offerings. I absolutely recommend this place! I would go out of my way to come to this place again. You should go and try it.
Pricey but the seafood is amazing. The specialty drinks were unique and flavorful. There are some weird rules. 23% tip added to bill for party of 4. Reservations require a credit card for a $25 per person charge for reservation cancellations.
Outstanding meal! Inventive cocktails that rivaled the food. Sea bass was as delicate as a cloud and rich with a deep umami flavor. Fantastic gruyere potatoes! Could not have been happier with this meal and restaurant!
RockCreek is an absolute brunch gem! The atmosphere is warm, lively, and effortlessly cool. The kind of place that instantly puts you in a great mood the moment you walk in. The food? Outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. But what really sets RockCreek apart is the service. Our server was attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel like valued guests from start to finish. If you’re looking for a brunch spot, RockCreek delivers! We’ll absolutely be back.
Fresh ingredients and great use of local seafood ingredients with unexpected flavors. The highlight of the night got to be the Sea Bass with caramelized shallots and herbs. Dessert was great as well. Overall solid dinner spot with cozy atmosphere.
Cute spot for a date with flavorful seafood-forward dishes. Lost a star primarily because it’s too expensive. It’s very nice and fun, but it’s too casual a vibe for the prices, and the portions aren’t large enough nor the food unique enough to justify how expensive it is. We mostly ordered off the happy hour menu, and it still added up too high. $18 cocktails on the main menu are rich, for example. And $3 oysters are the discounted happy hour rate, when they’re usually $5! Each! Also, there’s a 23% automatic gratuity that started in June 2025, which is pretax, so it’s effectively 25% after the 10% sales tax rate. On top of Seattle’s tipped workers making full $20+ minimum wage. However, the experience was really fun. The oysters were absolutely to die for. Top 5 for me easily. Buttery and briney and perfect sized all at the same time. From the Puget Sound. Usually I’d be upset no cocktail sauce or horseradish were provided, but the mignonette and lemon were actually perfect here. The clams in broth were well cooked, but they needed one more piece of bread at least. The fried calamari was definitely the most interesting. Instead of feeling deep fried, it was a thin layer of tiny seedy batter. It actually let the high quality squid shine. So good. The hamachi crudo was as you’d expect anywhere else it’s served. Solid. The seafood paella was good, and they took the chorizo out for us. I wish there was more rice (it’s cheap! Give us a little more substance!), and I wish they’d crisped the rice at the bottom as it’s traditionally done. The spicy margs and white lotus cocktails were both fun, good size, strong without being too liquor-dominated in flavor. Just a bit pricy ($12 happy hour and $18, respectively). Overall, I’d consider returning, but the prices are just a bit too high. I wish it were a little fancier if so. Or larger portions. Or maybe an 18% automatic gratuity if you’re gonna do it at all.
Great atmosphere, the calamari was amazing so did the seafood rice dish which i don’t remember the name. A nice place to sit down have some good conversations and drinks with friends.
I sat in the bar area and enjoyed a happy hour beer and oysters. The beer was warm, the oysters were fantastic. I ordered the Jerk Marinated Swordfish, it was a bit of a miss for me, with a light burnt char on the exterior ruining some bites and not really getting a jerk flavor. Will have to try something else next time. Prices are fairly reasonable for quality.
Seafood and oysters in the cozy neighborhood of Fremont. The oysters were great and the building itself looks kind of like a nice cabin with the woodwork and high ceilings. Great place to come in the summer for the vibes. Food The oysters were fresh and pretty big. There is a good amount of different fishes and plenty of appetizers to choose from. The halibut was good, but a little smaller than I had anticipated. All the appetizers I had were amazing though and the tuna tartare was great. Atmosphere The high ceilings and windows give a nice open feeling to enjoy a nice summer day. There are 2 floors to this restaurant as well. Noise level was not too loud. Chill atmosphere to come for a hang out or nice dinner. Pricing The prices are average for seafood and reasonable. Service Service was good overall and the servers were nice. Other There is some street parking available but can be difficult to find in a neighborhood.
The restaurant ambience itself was clean, felt new and modern, and the overall atmosphere was lively. The service was excellent, we ordered 3 appetizers and 1 main, and our waitress perfectly coursed the items into three separate courses. Checking frequently to refresh our silverware and plates. * The Smoked Trout Salad was flavorful, the salad wasn’t dry and there was a better than expected amount of smoked trout. * The Mediterranean Mussels were okay. They tasted fresh, but the sauce was missing something. It tasted like herb-wine sauce and was missing garlic or butter, but it was very light. * The tuna tartare was okay. Again it tasted fresh, but there was an overpowering amount of wasabi in it, to the point that’s all we tasted. * The swordfish was the best dish. It tasted fresh, wasn’t over cooked, with a bacon-smoky flavor that I would recommend to try out! Besides the swordfish, the rest of the food was fresh but mid-tasting. The overall experience and the swordfish deserved a 4/5, and I’d come back to try other items on the menu.
Service was so slow at 7:30 pm, especially when you are seated on the second floor. However when the staff are actually on the second floor, they were attentive and nice. The food took even longer to arrive. Seafood is fresh, however prices were steep. Portions were acceptable. Not the best place to have a date night as it was so noisy. Parking is hard to find at 7 pm.
We went during happy hour with the intent to try all of the happy hour dishes. We tried all except the oyster dishes. Service was excellent however a little slow considering these were appetizers. Really enjoyed the way each one was brought out separately in a specific order. We enjoyed all however would not recommend the calamari. A little over breaded and not a lot of taste. We topped off the small plates with the key lime pie and it was excellent! Ordering four starters and one drink each from the happy hour menu the Bill with tip came to $90.
Top notch, creative, flavorful and eventful meals at RockCreek in Fremont. A must for seafood lovers! One of the best seafood spots in the greater Seattle area. #Goodeats #SamsungPhotography
It has been quite some time since my last visit to this establishment. Today, I gathered with friends for a delightful Sunday brunch. The restaurant boasts an appealing indoor and outdoor layout, providing a pleasant ambiance. Although the service was somewhat slow, the staff remained friendly throughout our visit. The food menu impressed with its extensive selection and unique offerings. I opted for the prawn dish with grits, which, while delicious, turned out to be a bit spicier than I prefer. All in all, it was a wonderful spot for brunch, offering a great overall experience.
The food was exceptional, We had Oysters and the Octopus for starters and chose the Black Cod and the Ono for the main course. I see the reviews regarding high prices for the portions and I agree to a certain point however my main complaint was our waiter, he was very short with me when I asked him to explain the differences between two of the fish options. He was talking down to me like I should know the answers, I think this is called order taking and customer satisfaction and I shouldn't feel bad about asking questions regarding the menu. To put a damper on the experience I received the check and noticed the 23% service charge and no mention of the charge from him, that didn't sit well either.
Astoundingly mediocre. I'm not sure how this place has such high reviews when there are countless other fresh seafood places out there. The oysters were just ok, no one bothered telling us what kind they were. The tuna tartare was bland. Most of their dishes were underwhelming and lacked presentation. The final nail in the coffin for me was the mandatory 23% "service charge" when the service wasn't all that great. I have experienced more enthusiasm from servers at Waffle House. I support restaurant workers making a liveable wage but they really need to figure out how to incentivize doing your job well at the same time. Just a tip for anyone visiting Seattle and wanting to experience some quality seafood & service-- I would skip this place and go to Elliotts, Taylors, or Dukes.
I went to Rock Creek with 5 others, and had to say that our experience could've been a bit better. As a table, we shared the calamari salad and the octopus. The octopus tasted mediocre to me, something about the taste didn't go well together, however calamari salad was delicious. I ordered the Chilean sea bass as an entree, and although it was well-cooked, I didn't think it was worth the price. For sides, we ordered the smashed potatoes, which were very crispy, and the cauliflowers, which did not stand out at all. Service wise, we were disappointed. Our waiter was not attentive to our table, and did not seem to care that our table was celebrating a birthday. He didn't even ask who's birthday it was. It made me feel that this restaurant is not suitable to host large parties or events. All in all, I will not return again.
We ate in the private dining room upstairs, it was nice to close the door to get away from the main dining room noise but it was not balanced in its track and kept opening itself. Also the room was so freezing cold, the waiter said he would try to turn the heat up but i felt like the window in the ceiling was open and it just kept getting colder. The minimum spend for the room was really high, we had difficulty hitting it with 12 people, many appetizers, and many drinks and had to take a few bottles of wine home. The food was good ! Potato Bread 5/5 must order Olives 5/5 classic Bruschetta 5/5 the sauce was amazing to dip bread into Cauliflower salad 4/5 extremely thin sliced, nice Prawns 3/5 okay, more undercooked than my liking Oregon Sole 5/5 great dish overall ! Jerk Swordfish 4/5 not as seasoned as i would have liked, i didnt expect the sauce to be so vinegary Alaskan Yelloweye 100!!! so fire must order best dish in the menu great flavor
Had high expectations for RockCreek based off word of mouth and reviews but came away unimpressed. In terms of drinks and service, both were fine however I've had better experiences at similar restaurants locally and across major US cities. In terms of food, everything besides the final Ono fish dish was average. Oysters came out way too close to warm (serve raw oysters on ice, not rocks), bread was served cold, and while the scallops and sides were good they weren't anything special. The final Ono fish was excellent however. Personally, for the price the meal cost I would not return unless a close friend personally recommended a second try to me.
The food here is great. I’ve eaten at this location twice, and twice at the Kirkland location as well, and the food quality has always been very good. That said, the automatic gratuity policy seems inconsistent and confusing. About a month ago, when only three of us (including a one-year-old child) dined here, a 23% gratuity was automatically added to our bill. Today, we came with a larger group of five people, yet no automatic gratuity was charged. I have no issue with tipping, but automatic charges should be clearly explained and applied consistently. Transparency around this would really improve the overall dining experience.
The food was good, though a bit on the pricier side considering the smaller portions that were served. Service was fine — friendly, but nothing above what you’d expect at an average restaurant. What really surprised me was the automatic 23% “service charge” added to the bill (just for two people dining). Of that, only 19% goes to staff and 4% stays with the restaurant. It’s presented like a tip but doesn’t all go to the servers, which feels misleading and makes the already high prices even steeper. Overall, there are many other fantastic seafood spots in Seattle I would consider before coming back to RockCreek.
Good food, atmosphere, and service. Probably be a four or five star….however, the forced 23% service charge, is not appropriate nor should it be acceptable, and the audacity to ask for an additional tip, luckily, I looked at the receipt and noticed the 23% ‘service charge.’ No signs or mentions of the service charge on the menu nor from staff, it is deceptive and wrong and for those who just have trust and pay, double tipped. Not cool.
It’s not that the food here is bad, it’s just that it’s not worth it. The handful of dish’s that are delicious are incredibly small portioned and pricey, and many other dishes are average at best, fishy at worst. We used to be regulars here but after the 23% mandatory tip (that doesn’t even entirely go to staff) was implemented, we recognize this isn’t an establishment we want to continue to support. Service is phenomenal one night, and atrocious the next (the patio is especially risky for bad service), which again is no surprise since tips are mandated (even for a party of two at the bar). Lots of other great spots in the area, I’d skip this one.
